Happy New Year 2019!

Happy New Year! I hope that you all have a great year and enjoyed what 2018 gave you ^-^

Before I get into my resolutions I made last year and if I achieved them, I want to list off the resolutions I have for this year ^-^

1) Work on toning my body: Last year I wanted to lose weight and this year I was to work on toning my body. Stomach, arms, and legs, I slowly want to work toward that. I am not looking to get abs out of this or to have prominent muscles in my arms or legs, all I want is to tighten up the muscles more and get rid of some of the fat that's still there (:
This also means not pushing myself. I am not going to go all out and start pushing myself to work hard on all parts of my body at once, that will get me no where. The point is not to make my entire body sore and to feel dead by the end of a workout. If something is too much for me, I will cut back slightly and work up to that point in a good way. If there are a few things I have learned from classes and friends in athletic and medical fields, you gain nothing from pushing yourself to the extreme in the beginning, building your workout up slowly is more effective, if something becomes too painful during a workout you should stop. So what if I use 2lb weights instead of 5lbs or 10lbs? I am still going to build the muscle, and I won't be complaining after a few days that I am too sore to keep going. I will take things slowly and at a pace that is good for my body. No need to jump ahead and try to rush anything.

2) Be less negative: I need to learn to keep more negative thoughts to myself. If my negative thought is not going to benefit anyone, and instead puts them down, I will try to keep it to myself. If it is a negative opinion I really need to voice, I will work on doing it in a way that is not as offensive.
The only time I want to allow myself to be slightly more negative is when I need to be brutally honest with someone for the better of the situation (if someone needs to know their idea/way of doing something is too time consuming than it needs to be, dangerous, correct them on something I know they are saying is wrong, or things along those lines).

3) FIND A FRICKEN JOB!: Yepp...this again...I need a job. End of story. Being home is boring.

4) Keep writing: I have no intention to stop writing, but I want to keep making stories I am proud of, whether they are oneshots or chaptered fics.

Although I do not have as many resolutions as I did last year, I am content with these.

~~~~~~
Now that the new year has come, I also want to take time to look back on the resolutions I made last year and see how those have gone c:
1) Lose weight: achieved!
  • 2018 recap Not a specific amount, and I have no goal of when I want to lose weight...just to keep trying by losing between .05lbs - 2lbs a week (this is the healthy range for a week) so I am not starving myself to do it.
  • Result - Lost 64lbs and I am now in my healthy weight range! I have made a lifestyle change that I can maintain and is managable. This weight loss was no a result from some diet I will fall off of. I have gone down from being a pants size 16 (almost needing an 18), to a 10!
2) Include a veggie in at least one meal: achieved!
  • 2018 recap - I already basically do this, but I want to keep it up.
  • Result - With keeping up with meal prep, continuing this one was easy.
3) Go to bed at a consistent time: semi-achieved...
  • 2018 recap - I should be going to bed at 10 but...it has gotten stretched to midnight or later since I do not have a job at the moment...need a schedule back!
  • Result - towards the beginning of the year I think I was doing a good job but then it turned into a 50/50 chance if I would keep that 10pm bedtime. I am going to bed somewhere between 10:30pm and 11pm now which...I mean at least I have a time period that I am usually keeping!
3.5) Wake up at a normal time: achieved!
  • 2018 recap - This goes with #3. Since I go to bed at such funky times, I am not getting up until 8:30am or so...and that is too late for me! I am used to 6:00am! I need to fix my wacky sleep cycle -_-''
  • Result - In the beginning of the year I was waking up around 6:30am, but then switched at some point in the year to 7am, which is not bad! The time differs from 6:50am - 7:10am on most days which is great! I have more time in my day and I feel refreshed!
4) Work out: achieved!
  • 2018 recap - While workout videos are great, I find myself getting bored quickly because they are the same thing over and over daily. So this can even include walking, because that is a great was to burn calories just as well. They say half an hour of activity a day is good, so for this one I will have a length of at least 30 minutes each day...even weekends.
  • Result - I achieved this one so much! I was determined to workout and I did! The only days I skipped was when I hurt myself, felt sick, or when I was away from the house for one reason or another and could not workout. I mainly did walking (basically 95% of my workouts haha), some workout videos, and dancing.
5) Keep on writing: achieved!
  • 2018 recap - I know this might seem like a dumb one to some of my subscribers, since I post so much, but even I get into slumps at certain times, and the new year can kind of be one of those because the end of the year has been so busy.
  • Recap - I kept up my writing for sure this year! I kept myself at a good pace and even completed NaNoWriMo for my second year. I had a time around November when I was finding myself really stressed and worried but I was able to overcome that with some help of my friends here on AFF ^-^ So much writing was done in 2018!
6) Get a job (by September): FAILED!
  • 2018 recap - Even though I said I did not like setting timed goals, this one has to be. In the US, by the time you are 26, which is September for me, you go off your parents insurance and onto your own. This means for me, come the first day of October...I am off my parents insurance. I would like to have a job and be on their insurance and their benefits, instead of having to go on our state's insurance. So fingers crossed that in 9 months I can find something!
  • Result - This did not happen...I am not happy about it! Not at all! Time for crappy insurance which goes into effect today >_< It is so fricken hard to find a job because someone is always more qualified. I cannot even count all of the jobs I have applied for (it's between 150 - 200).
7) Be happy/positive: semi-achieved...
  • 2018 recap - Once again, this might seem silly to some people that being happy is a resolution for this year. But I think it is a good one to have. Even though things get stressful, I need to stay happy and positive because being stress does nothing but wear the body down. Whenever I feel stressed I want to try and find something to be happy/positive about!
  • Result - I think I kind of completed this one. I know it is hard to be happy and positive about everything, but I think there were times when I became a lot more negative than I would like. It is something that I still really want to work harder on.
TOTALS:
Achieved: 4
Semi-Achieved: 2
Failed: 1
Seriously well done! Most of us and myself in particular make New Years resolutions and don’t stick to them. So much so that I don’t make them anymore XD
I also went through a weight loss change in 2018 and I applaud your achievement, 64lb is a massive loss so kudos to you for being motivated enough to persevere with it and to reach your goal.
I wish you all the very best for the job hunt in 2019 and any company will be very lucky to have you, you are a rare and very talented gem! You can always use me as a reference hahaha.
I wish you a very happy 2019 and may all your dreams come true this year.
Thank you for your incredible writing, I absolutely adore your stories <3
And by the way you are basically a hero for achieving almost all of your goals. I set many goals every year and they'll be 100 percent failure at the end of the year -_-#
Congratulations and HAPPY NEW YEAR \(^o^)/
Happy New Year to you!!
Congratulations on achieving all that you did, that’s something to be celebrated!
Staying positive is not easy and it’s something you have to work at consistently. I find myself battling with this too, so well done!
Losing that much weight is absolutely amazing!!! A huge congrats for that. I did the same and found that not only do I feel better about myself but my self confidence also improved a lot. I hope you experienced the same thing?
Okay so your main area of focus is clearly finding a job. I’m not sure what your qualifications are but I do know that you are an incredible writer! Have you considered the advertising or marketing industry? Copy writing might be the perfect field for you?
Anyway I hope you have an amazing 2019 and that you achieve all the goals you set.
Sending lots of love and big hugs your way!
Thank you so much for your wonderful stories, I’m so glad I found you!
