STYLE ; Shin doesn't follow trends, he sets them. Each day, he'll show up in a new combination of designer clothes with the occasional self-designed piece on the side. His style varies quite a lot and usually shifts gradually every few months. Black features very prominently in his wardrobe but the colors he matches it with are usually bright or bold (brick red, petrol, yellow, purple).
He's currently enamoured with a mix between swagger hip hop style with his own artsy twist, for example wearing hooded crop tops with boldly printed sweatpants or golden embroidered platform sneakers. Adding a few silver and black chains, rings and earrings to round it off.
He also fancies punk and elegant fashion. Some of his all time favorites are embroidered or patterned suits, adorned leather jacket, low-cut shirts and fishnet socks. Ofc not combined.
MODIFCATIONS ;
Shin has a slight, barely noticable underbite and his teeth, especially the bottom row, are crooked. Therefore he wears currently braces, lingual ones for the top and the common outer ones for his bottom row.
Like his fc, he has very prominent lips.
Both his ears (not eyes, sorry was a slip up!) are pierced, his right one 5, the left one 7 times. Each lobe thrice, on the left ear he has a conch and the rest are helix piercings.
Yijeong changes his hair colour every season and it's only due to his expensive masks and treatments that his scalp and hair remains undamaged. it's currently coloured a vivid pink.
Also similar to his face claim, Shin has a build body. Fed up of being called cute for his face and height, Shin has invested many hours into the gym and the results can be shown off: his guns are impressive and he hides well-defined abs underneath the gucci shirts.

PERSONALITY ;
SunWoo Shin? Ugh, I hate that bastard. Strutting around like he owns the place, in his fancy designer clothes that his rich daddy brought him. He acts like G-Dragon when he was actually kicked out of JYP. I detest guys like that. He's one of the laziest trainees but still gets praise from the teachers. Rumor has it he pays the instructors to let him pass. - unknown trainee

Sunwoo Shin? Honestly, he's infaturating. Because right now he's cocky, he slacks off when everyone else works extra hard but the possibility of kicking him out of the company makes me hesitate. There's something regal about his attitude, he has a certain swagger unique to him. His songs are seriously good and he's found his own style while also managing an impressive level of mouldableness. Does he deserve to debut with his attitude? No. Would he be someone who attracts a lot of fans? Definitely yes. - DARE, composers for Popcorn Entertainment

He's like Regina George. Yes, he's a mean but he's an iconic . Born performer, knows his angles, writes bangers. I wonder what he's even doing under an unknown company. If they let go of him, someone else will snatch him up and when he debuts - yeah, you've heard right, when, not if, because there's no doubt his will be on stage someday - he's going places. - unknown source

Shin? I swear, this kid is so much trouble. Keeps up well during dance practice, though he's not among the best. Vocal coach said similar things about his singing. We all thought he was a shoe-in for the upcoming group until we found out that he doesn't practice. During sessions with the teachers he shows up, delivers, all fine. But as soon as we're gone? Poof! Group 1 would like to report a missing person. And the strangest thing, well, the strangest thing is, his monthly evaluations are still better than the vast majority. Should we expect more of our trainees? - Kim Evelyn Soomi, dance instructor

+ gifted, bold, cheeky, resourceful, charismatic, witty
~ sassy, eccentric, polarizing, ambivert
- haughty, lazy, hot-tempered, nonchalant
fratboy, Slytherin, XNFJ

Better to be bold than to be bland;
Shin is a person who incites strong responses wherever he goes - you admire him or you detest him, there is little middle ground. He's eccentric, dramatic in his appearance and his mannerism, the way he strides through the room, chin raised high and and bracelets softly clattering against each other with each step. He acts like a top star and it's refreshing, if it weren't for his haughtiness, the wry smile that seems to ooze self-satisfaction and rarely leaves his lips. He's nice enough when he's spoken to, and his words seem charming and sincere but with most people, he rarely takes the effort to initiate a conversation by himself.

Work smart not hard;
Love him or hate him, you have to admit that Shin is gifted when it comes to music. He is one of the quickest learner, is skill of picking up dance routines or mastering the lyrics is impressive and his artistic abilities made him a favorite of DARE. However, he's lazy. Why should he continue practicing when he knows that his current performance would get him ahead of 80% of the other trainees at the monthly evaluations? To him, the results matter more than the journey, and until now he always managed to deliver. You can say that he's somewhat complacent, comparatively, he doesn't have to do much for good criticisms which, combined with his attitude, lead to discontentment from some other trainees. Shin mostly ignores the hate, doesn't let it distract him from pursuing his goals. He's basking in the glances of envy thrown his way, after all, company-staffers and his peers think of him as one of the trainees who'll definitely make their debut, of the some call him a shoe-in for the boygroup already. He has a few close buddies among the most promising trainees and that's enough for him. Shin views his chances to make it as pretty promising but he knows better than to rely on his current popularity, in case his current strategy starts failing him, he'll pick up the slacks.

Don't worry, I got this;
Somietimes he just acts like a frat boy. Shin acts like he's above petty fights but honestly? While he doesn't really view many guys as his competition, he sure has time to keep up with the latest gossip. He's has his way with words after growing up with all kinds of speech and behavioral tutors courtesy of his dad and he knows how to make a bland day of practice more amusing for his friends by inserting his running commentary. He's good at gauging the atmosphere and can be quite sassy, and knows how to say bold things without outright being mean. Shin can be persuasive or act like an angel when the situation calls for it (aka one of his friends got in trouble because he surely would stay out of trouble himself). A lot of trainees view him as egocentric and he can't deny that he's greedy for the spotlight, but to him it's a no brainer that he'd help his friends or anyone that asked.

It runs in my blood;
As most of his family members, Shin got a temper. He doesn't know the last time he was sad, his negative emotions always manifest as some degree of anger. Most of the times it's just mild annoyance and he's quite good at masking it or keeping it in check by venting. The last thing he wants to do is to become like his father, who's way of dealing with stress is to lash out on others. No, Shin's better than that and being irritated just makes him work on his self-improvement (example: training, the gym) to become a person even more worthy of fame.

BACKGROUND ; Sunwoo Shin was born on the 9th of September 1996 in Incheon, South Korea, just ten minutes after his twin sister. The Sunwoo's were very wealthy, Lauve, the cosmetic company his father had founded in 1989, was growing steadily and allowing Shin and his sister to be raised in a luxurary lifestyle. By the early 2000s, Lauve had expanded into other Asian countries and made a revenue of seven-digits. By then, the siblings had multiple nannies, went to the most prestigous private school in South Korea and wore only designer clothes. Growing up, Shin had thought that kind of lifestyle was the norm.

Being somewhat traditional, Sunwoo Jungsoo expected his son to be studious and take over the company someday. And actually, he was top of the class throughouth his elementary school years. But then his interest in literature and mathematics dimished. He became rather fond of entertaining, he liked that he could make all of his classmates laugh with his antics and his pranks on the teachers.  Even when he was young, Shin could never be bothered to do something that he didn't want, even if it wasn't that difficult for him. And so, he crossed his fathers' plans to become the perfect little chaebol son and became a class clown instead.

When he reached his pre-teens, Shin developed an interest in idols. By now, he was a fan of anything artistic, so he liked the catchy tunes, the visual aspect and hipster fashion, the multientertaining aspect of the job. It seemed like a perfect fit to him, a destiny. Within months of getting interested in the genre, he decided that he'd become an idol singer, no matter what. And up til now, he's stuck with that decision.

His father wasn't fond of idol music, viewing it as a cheap form of entertainment. Shin knew that and that's why he kept his ambition quiet at first, buying music equipment in secret and practicing dance at night in the gym hall of their mansion, when almost everyone else was asleep. Only Seul knew about it and tried to cover for him. After a few years his father found out, though. The discovery lead to a bruised face and an enrollment to a catholic boarding school in South England. At once, his chances of auditioning were dwindled down to zero.

At that time Shin's English was nothing to write home about and he saw no reason to stay there. So he became a troublemaker in order to get kicked out of the school and after half a year of trying, he reached his goal. Shin knew that coming back to his fuming father wouldn't be pretty but he refused to be thrown around like a rag doll.

By now, Sunwoo Jungsoo had given up the dream of Shin as his perfect heir. Instead of favoring his son just for being born as a male, he started to pay more attention to his daughter. Shin was concerned for her even though she seemed happy with the new responsibilities. After countless arguments, he finally worked out a deal with his father: if he would stay in school and finished high school with  good grades, he would be allowed to try and pursue being an idol. Shin wasn't under any illusion that a man of his father's importance could sabotage his career with a single phone call, so he agreed and subsequently worked his off to fulfill the grade requirements.

Shin knew that at age 18 he'd be pretty late to start training but he trusted in his abilities to overcome that. And apparently he wasn't the only one thinking like that, as he was accepted into JYP at his first audition in 2016, only one week after receiving his diploma. Shin was passionate and eager to show of and soon became one of the standout trainees. One year after he started, there were rumors about a new boy group and Shin's name fell quite a few times.

Then his sister called him one day, drunk and crying. Her father had sent her to the Shanghai branch of Lauve to shadow and sharpen her skills but her supervisor was being cruel and she felt bullied at her workplace. Shin didn't hesitate, she would have done the same thing for him. He send a text to a trainee friend that he'd had to miss practice and booked a flight to China on the same night. It took two weeks for him to demote that ist , find a replacement and instill some order into that mess of a branch - his name carried enough value, and he wasn't as nice as his sister to be taken for a doormat and walked over. But when he came back, he was told that he had been let go from the trainee programme for unreliableness.

Shin tried to argue but he couldn't do much without revealing that his sister struggled to keep her authority, and he couldn't embarass her like that in case word would get out. His supervisor told him that he could refer him to Popcorn Entertainment but Shin was too proud to take the offer. On the same afternoon, when he researched which companies to apply for, he stumbled over said Entertainment and decided that it wouldn't be a bad choice. So he auditioned by himself and made the cut, without any help of his former company whatsoever.

TRIVIA ;
NICKNAMES;
Wooshin - everyone always assumes the 'Woo' is part of his given name and calls him Wooshin, to the point that it became a prominent nickname. He doesn't mind the name, in fact his closest friends among the trainees call him that.
Whoosh - it's not really a nickname, not quite a stage name (Shin is fine, thank you) but in his rap lyrics, he often uses this alias to refer to himself or adds it as background noise into the song.
The Genius - A nickname derived from a compliment of DARE. Used in a teasing manner by his friends or in an awed manner by the younger trainees who look up to him. He quite likes it though he pretends the opposite.
Fish Lips/Underbite - Only s would make fun of someone's physical appearance but sadly, there are some of them among the trainees.

HABITS;
Traces the brackets of his lingual braces literally all the time. It's an annoying habit but he can't stop.
Sneezes like a cow. The opposite of graceful.
his lips. For some reason they are dry everyday no matter how much chapstick he applies.

LIKES;
+ sleeping - even if the floor's cleanliness is questionable, he'll sprawl out and take a nap
+ fame - he loves when others pay attention to him and was born for the spotlight.
+ props in choreographies. fans, chairs, even flashlights - those items make the routine much more creative.
+ fashion and beauty - even though he doesn't like his father, the shades of the new lauve lipstick kits are very impressive.

DISLIKES;
+ when mediocre performers turn out to be demanding. if he helps someone who lags behind, he at least expects them to be apologetic for their inconvenience.
+ bullies. even if he and his friends sometimes talk behind someone elses back, none of them would ever gang up on anyone or single somebody out to tease. that wouldn't fly, ever.
+ people insisting hard work is more important than results. they're usually taking a jab at him. also, who would you rather be operated by, a doctor that knows his without studying like crazy or one who is clueless but invested many hours into it?
+ fatty acids, unhealthy foods, etc. occasional snacking is okay but he worked hard for this bod and wouldn't throw it away for two more slices of pizza.

HOBBIES;
+ staying in bed/on the floor doing nothing all day
+ shopping and coordinating outfits / designing outfits
+ creating beats / composing
+ going out drinking
+ playing silly mobile games

TRIVIA;
+ There are a lot of rumors about his father paying his instructors for perks and rumors of him leaving JYP after not being chosen for StrayKidz. However, both of them are false
+ prefers small local cafes/inns/bakeries rather than those american chains like starbucks or mcd
+ has a driver's licence and a motorbike license. loves to show up on his harley davidson
+ his father insists on giving him a monthly allowance since it would reflect bad on him if shin looked run-down.
+ designs own fashion pieces/clothes, buys the material and comissions them at a taylor
+ shin absolutely loves cats and adores his sister's striped cat named Chouie (and she adores him too!)
+ can't grow a beard (and happy about it!)
+ takes a lot of ootds, selfies, shirtless pics, gym progress pics. basically documents his daily life on his phone.
+ quite good at drawing

SUN WOO SEUL / 22 / manager at Lauve Cosmetics / sister
friendly, quirky, nerdy, shy, responsible, smart, bit of a doormat
they are quite close. seul always wanted to take over the family business and used to have quite an inferiority complex when their father still favored shin and she secretly supported his dreams. however, those times are over and nowadays the twins are each others #1 person to rely on. she doesn't know that shin's trip to her help had costed him his trainee status.

SUN WOO JUNGSOO / 51 / CEO of Lauve Cosmetics / FATHER
ill-tempered, rigid, strategist, visionary, prideful
When he was younger, Shin made excuses for him but nowadays he can face the truth: Sunwoo Jungsoo is an abusive piece of who used his social power to manipulate others. Shin doesn't want to become like him and tries to warn his sister from becoming too attached and easily to manipulate. They are at a stalemate. Jungsoo doesn't like what his son is doing but they have a deal so he tries to stay out of it. He knows that right now he still holds power over Shin to some extent but if he'd overstep that he'd get the same scenario as with the boarding school, probably worse. Though he told Shin that if he'd do something which embarasses his name and family, his little idol stint would be over.

IDOL SKILLS
- Vocals ; 7.5-8/10
- Dance ; 7/10
- Rap ; 6-7/10
- Acting ; 7/10
- Preferred talent twin ; Jeon Jungkook

Talent overview:
Shin's main strength lies in expression. He's a natural, knows how to emote any concept through mimics and gestures just right. he manages to command the stage by accenturating his performance with small details, adding winks and smirks and a flail of his arm; even if he's performing alone, the stage doesn't feel empty. also, he's versatile and owns any concept thrown at him. Rather than standing out for his talent, Shin was always getting the best responses for his charisma and the way he interacts with the crowd.

His second strength is singing. Shin knows that he'd never be the next Park Hyoshin but that's okay, he's not too fond of ballads anyways. He's good at emotion, clear and stable but his range is limited, high upper register can get nasal or whiny.

At dancing his forte is speed. He can memorize choreography very, very quickly and his movements are fluid and powerful. However, Shin is mostly good at the 'standard' idol dances, he doesn't have a certain dance style he excels in. He can add ideas but is unable to choreograph actual routines well (he's tried before but they ended up mediocre).

Rapping is not bad either. He's good at coming up with a nice flow and sometimes he comes up with good puns and wordplay but his enounciation isn't that praiseworthy speed is below average. If he's talking too fast, he'll get a lisp due to his lingual braces and sometimes forgets his lyrics.

Lastly, he's good at creating beats and composing and loves to perform a self-made song.

TRAINEE TEAM ; Team AM1 (I wanted him to be in the first group but didn't know the actual group name, so I wanted to go back to the cheat sheet and edit that later, seems like I forgot it)
TRAINEE YEARS ; 1 year at JYP; 1 1/2 years at Popcorn (depends on when the story starts)

TRAINEE LIFE ; As stated already, Shin was a stellar trainee with a less than stellar work attitude. Whenever the instructors supervised, he knew to be serious, focused on learning the task as quickly as possible and then practiced it until the lesson would finally be over.
However, when they weren't supervised? Hello Naptime. Their days were starting so early that it was difficult to keep a social life and procreational activities if you didn't get some shut-eye during the day. He swore that he would stop if it affected his performance negatively but well, he never had a bad evaluation.

To his defense, for each team mission he pitched in lots of ideas, practiced until he made no mistakes and was willing to help struggling team mates to a certain extent. Which basically meant that by day three, he fulfilled everything he felt morally obliged and since then only practiced on and off with the rest of the group, using half of his time to take naps in the practice rooms or play games on his phone.

Of course some trainees think he's a prick, especially when adding his eccentric personality to the mix. Rumors spread that his father paid off the tutors but he paid them no mind. They could think whatever they wanted, it wouldn't change the fact that he could outperform any of them without breaking a sweat. For the latter half of his trainee time, he'd been the one most people would bet their money on to debut.

AUDITIONNEE NAME ; Sun Woo Shin
AUDITION NUMBER ; 1
ACCEPTED/DENIED

Hello, this is a mandatory interview for all upcoming trainees of Popcorn Entertainment, please state your name,  and your current age. ;  Morning, I'm SunWoo Shin, surname two-syllabled. I'm male and 21 years old.

What skills do you wish to gain from your trainee experience? ; A debut, hopefully. I've been training for the past year so I hope I can strenghten my skills.

Do you need assistance in the language Korean? ; Born and raised in South Korea, so thanks, I'm good.

What is your dream position for if you were to become an idol? ; Well, (smirks) my parents told me to always aim high. Would main vocal, lead dancer, producer be too outrageous?

Are willing to work your hardest to achieve your goal? ; Of course!

Finally, do you understand and agree to the contract and terms & conditions of being a trainee under Popcorn Entertainment? ; That's self-evident.

Thank you for this mandatory interview, we'd like to continue the audition with one of your acts, please state the song you are auditioning with. ; Today I'll peform 'Ma first' for you, which is a self-written song of mine.
201622910003202.jpg?c256x256201622910003202.jpg?c256x256201622910003202.jpg?c256x256201622910003202.jpg?c256x256201622910003202.jpg?c256x256201622910003202.jpg?c256x256
WHAT IF ?

WHAT IF I WAS GIVEN 90+ POINTS? What if? 85 is my expectation and self-estimation, so 90 is not too far off. I don't think they'll debut anyone under 85, so getting 90 points would be a positive affirmation.
WHAT IF I WAS INJURED? I'd be pissed. I'm not going to pass my chances because of some torn ligaments or something the likes. Even worse if anyone else is at fault for me being injured, I'd tell them a piece of my mind.
WHAT IF I WAS ON THE CHANCE TO BE ELIMINATED ? Honestly? I'd also be angry. I'll prove them wrong, if they don't think I'm worth the investment, I'd be going to another company and debut in an even more kick- boygroup in the future. for the years I'd waste but I know what I'm capable of.
WHAT IF I WAS TOLD TO COMPLETELY CHANGE MY MAIN SKILL?  I'd laugh. Surely they wouldn't ever say something so artricious, right?
WHAT IF I WAS GIVE A REALLY BAD CRITIQUE? Depends on the critique. I have certain standards for myself and I can realize my faults, maybe I really didn't work hard enough, maybe the song was too much for my capabilities.
But other times? Maybe someone hates me and they're just searching for a reason to give me a boot. Or I'm ahead of the trends.
WHAT IF I MADE IT INTO THE FINAL GROUP? Your results on these kind of shows depend to some extent on your confidence and your own expectations. I'll go into the show with the belief that I will be recognized and get to debut. I don't know what actually happens if I make my debut but for now, I won't think of any other possibility.
WHAT IF SOMEONE TALKED ABOUT ME BEHIND MY BACK? What if? They are doing it on the daily. I won't bother with petty things like these, as Hebbel said: don't get caught up in minor issues when you're on the way to greater things.
WHAT IF I GOT INTO A FIGHT WITH SOMEONE? I usually don't get caught up in fights, but if I do, well, first of all I'd like to congratulate my opponent since choosing to fight means for me that I acknowledge him as one of the more promising trainees. Also, I'd show him up with my skills and a bit of my sass, not by throwing around dumb declarations.

chakayuko / new / 8+

FINAL WORDS ; hopefully you'll get a lot of apps! i like the idea and the thoughts behind it so here's shin!

GOD SORRY FOR THOSE MISTAKES!!!! The interview section was actually the first thing I filled out after the basics. I remember not being sure if it was a survival show or not, but then I was like 'YOLO, you're probably going to abandon this app like you do 90% of the time, and if you aren't, you can still edit it later'. Well apparently, I didn't abandon it but I never got around to edit it either /facepalm
Anyways, thanks for the detailed review and accepting Shin!

SCENE REQUESTS ; (more like suggestions tbh)
- Shin taking care of a younger trainee?
- Character development? People realizing that Shin isn't as bad as the rumors suggest
- Playful squabbling among the trainees!
- A makeover of some sort?
- Original song missions!!!

PASSWORD ; Shin
