"do you think seohyun will ever get around to actually eating her blossom's soul?" one of the demons asks casually. a chorus of laughter sounds from where the group sat, and they're glad the mentioned girl wasn't there, because they definitely would've been drenched by now if she had been there with them. she's quite petty in that way, and over the years they've learned not to joke about the girl in front of her if they weren't ready for a torrent of water to come splashing down on them.

the demon sitting at the end turns around and grins at the group. "definitely not. she's too soft and emotional for that. they don't even need to try that hard to stop her from eating their soul. all they need is a really convincing sob story and she'll probably never think of eating their soul ever again. in fact, she'll probably find some sort of way to try and make their life easier instead or ruining their life." another collective laugh. it wasn't a secret that seohyun was as close to an empath as you could get when you're a demon, and she's caring as well. it would be hard for her to take action if she ever got too attached to the person, which she most likely would, solely because she's seohyun. honestly, the other demons wouldn't even consider her competition. sure, she's strong, but she's still one of, if not the youngest of the demons, and so she still hadn't quite grasped the idea of being ruthless just yet.

"but honestly though, i think she'll be the first to get close to her blossom," another demon pipes up, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "she's cheerful and easy-going, it won't be that hard to be friends with her, right?" she gets a couple of hums in response, and some of the demons start to think back to when they'd first met the girl. it was hard to believe someone so outgoing and bright and kind would be a demon, but then again, it was hard to believe they themselves were demons too.

"it depends on who her blossom is, though. she's overly affectionate, and i think she'll only annoy her blossom, to be honest. unless they're okay with her being clingy, i guess."

a moment of silence passes, and one demon who hadn't spoken yet chose this point to speak up. "am i the only one that thinks she might actually do it though? seohyun might be soft but we all know she's quite insecure about her powers and i think she'll do anything if it means she can get stronger than before. i mean, doesn't insecurity often drive people to do things against their better judgement?"

"she has talked about how she doesn't want to be weak before," another demon adds. "seohyun's not the weakest, but she doesn't like not being one of the strongest either. she thinks we treat her like a child because she isn't strong, and she doesn't want to be the baby of the group."

the other demons are quiet for a moment, and then they burst into laughter again. "nah. she probably won't. wanna bet?"

seohyun is considered one of the younger ( or rather, newer ) demons, and is possibly the least demon-like demon out of the group. why? because she hadn't been born one. she had been born a human, and lived a relatively simple life she now no longer remembers, before an accident had almost killed her and she had been saved by another demon, who now acts kind of like her brother figure. it's a story she doesn't tell anyone, and that's why the other demons are sometimes confused by how human she acts sometimes.

like many of the other demons, she had watched people come and go, live through generation changes and seen the advancement of technology ( honestly her favorite part of being almost immortal ). she had made friends with many people, and lost them as fast as she'd made friends with them ( or at least, to her it had been fast. to the others it had been quite a long time, and seohyun had left before they could even begin to ask her why she seemed to be the only one not aging ). she'd also met other demons like her over time, and she'd learned to accept the life she was living, if it could even be considered a life.

likes;
- anything sweet : it's not a secret that she has a huge sweet tooth, and you can basically bribe her to do anything if you give her sweets in exchange
- rooftops : it's where she can get some privacy, but it's also because she can observed people from up there and they won't know. she often tries to locate her blossom whenever she goes on a roof because it's just easier to hide from people
- power : of course she would love power. she needs to become stronger if she wants to ever be taken seriously by the other demons. she also doesn't want to disappoint jaehyun, which gives her even more motivation to be stronger
- skinship : she's affectionate. enough said
- coffee : it doesn't work on her, but she likes the taste. she also likes cafes because they're somewhat relaxing

dislikes;
- being teased : she absolutely hates it when people call her soft because she is not soft and she will most definitely eat her blossom's soul when she had the chance to
- factory machines : it's related to the accident she'd been in when she was first transformed into a demon. she had been working ( it was a while ago when it was still acceptable for childen to work ) and one of the machines had exploded. she was the only survivor
- nightmares : she frequently gets nightmares related to the accident as well, and she often finds herself feeling more human than ever when she wakes up from those nightmares

- being treated like a child : she's been alive for a long time, she is definitely not a child, but it doesn't help that she kind of looks like one

- singing : she's good but she would much rather die than have someone catch her singing
- skateboarding : she'd picked up skateboarding during her many years of being alive
- reading : she'd read a lot of books in her lifetime, and she likes to read books about the olden days just so she can laugh at the inaccuracy
- dancing : another thing she'd picked up in order to pass time. at one point she thought she could get a chance at a career in dance but she realized nobody was going to take a girl who looked 16 seriously

fun facts; 
- smart : people think she's really smart but it's just because she'd been learning the same thing in different schools in different areas for years and years. in fact, she skipped a year at the school she's in now and is currently a junior instead of a sophomore
- home : she lives with her brother figure because she doesn't look old enough for her to get a proper job and pay for rental
- blossom : doesn't actually try that hard to look for her blossom. she's sure they'll show up when fate decides they should meet
- pets : she has a couple of koi ( ironic, right? ) fish as pets, and they're the first thing people see when they walk into her house. if they didn't get the hint, they're dumb
- dominant hand : seohyun is left handed
- sns : she doesn't use sns, and she's often left out of all the gossip
- sleep : seohyun never sleeps on time for a normal person, but then again she doesn't need to

friends | tanaka mayuko, kim seohyun ( kimseo ), lee jinah | 17 | human | mayuko, kim seohyun and jinah are her best friends, and they're almost always together. they often about hanging out with her blossom ( they don't know he's her blossom, though. they just think that she has a huge crush on him which she definitely doesn't or maybe that he's a secret boyfriend ). they're sweet and supportive, and they help her a lot with you know, keeping up with social media and all that. they're the ones that she desperately doesn't want to find out that she's a demon

seohyun notices jinah's smirks from a mile away, and she immediately considers running in the opposite direction because she's sure whatever she's about to say to her is not something she'd like to hear, but they've already made eye contact, so she sighs and walks over, ready to get things over with.

"i think you have some explaining to do," jinah says as seohyun approaches the table, eyebrows quirked upwards suggestively.

seohyun ignores the girl and sits down in the empty spot between mayuko, who's too busy scribbling in a korean textbook, and kimseo, who seems too absorbed in texting her boyfriend to even care about what jinah had to say. "i don't know what you're talking about."

there's a chorus 'sureeeee's in response to her answer, and jinah leans across the table to stare at her. "rumor says you were seen walking home the other day with senior ice prince nam sangwoo, is that true?"

"what is this, an interrogation?" seohyun groans. she folds her arms across her chest protectively as her friends' eyes fly to her, waiting for an elaboration. "well if you must know, we're just friends. we met on the school rooftop once and we just became friends from there."

"school rooftop. y," jinah says, and seohyun takes a deep breath, trying her hardest not to give in to the urge to knock her friend into the next century. jinah must've noticed that, because she pulls away, arms raised next to her head in surrender. "i'm just saying."

the one who turned her into a demon ( or brother figure ) | min jaehyun | age is unknown, but he looks 20 | koi demon | jaehyun had been passing by the factory seohyun had been working in when the explosion happened, and he had decided to save the girl for some reason she hasn't found out yet. he now acts as her guardian and older brother, and he's very very protective of her. he helped her to adjust to being a demon, and she's more grateful to him than she is to anyone else.

"jaehyun oppa." said male raises his head from the laptop he'd been furiously typing at, and he closes it slowly, looking at seohyun. the girl shift uncomfortably in her spot, kind of regretting getting his attention.

"what is it?" he asks softly, and though the pounding in seohyun's heart slows slightly, she's still nervous. "you know you can tell me anything, right?" except the fact that you've met your blossom and you're supposed to eat him but can't bring yourself to for some odd reason, a voice in the back of her head pipes up, and she promptly ignores it.

seohyun takes a deep breath, aware of his worried gaze on her. "what does it mean when you get these...kind of...tingly feelings when you look at someone? like you're nervous, but you're happy at the same time?"

her brother is silent for a while, and she's worried she'd said something wrong, but then his eyes soften, a slight melancholy look in his dark orbs, almost as if he was recalling a bittersweet memory. "that means you're in love, seohyun-ah. that's the worst thing that could happen to demons like us."

interactions honestly, their interactions are more friendlike than anything. she keeps him out of trouble, puts him in his place when she thinks it's necessary and he does the same with her. she joins him sometimes to make sure the spirits don't get him in too much danger, and at first she just thinks it's because she can't have a dead blossom on her hands, but later on there are these weird feelings that she doesn't really understand, and so she tries to stay away from him as much as possible because what are these feelings and how does she get them to disappear?

trivia
