My favourite love story!

I should give this series a tag or something, lol.

Hello and welcome back to another one of these weird positive blogposts where I talk about what I like as a reader and writer. The comments are to be used so fill me in on YOUR favourites as a reader and/or a writer.

Today we're talking about love ~

(*coughcough*)

It's all about romance and I really enjoy a good love story. In fact, I think I love romantic stories more than anything as a reader. They're cute and the characters are sweet and romance gives me butterflies in my tummy - what's not to like really?

This isn't a specific story but rather just tropes and storylines I really really enjoy!

Let's go! ~

Established relationships

This is just one of my absolute favourites to read. They're ridiculously cute, they can be written in so many fun ways and there's always some way or another to relate it to real life (or dream about real life anyway).

The characters are just often a lot more relatable in an established relationship in my opinion because sure, you have the attraction to appearance but at the same time, you have the opportunity to make fun and tease your characters. There won't be anything mean in it but you can play on the small things.

Like the tall person in the relationship teasing the shorter with their height - it just come off much cuter when they're already a couple and the small one can retaliate in a cute way rather than being upset and/or letting it go unseen. There are so many awkward moments when you're flirting and I mean, they should highkey be out of the way when you have been together for some time.

To me it doesn't matter if it's marriage or just a relationship - as long as it isn't the "getting together" but rather the "being together".

(And I know we're talking about romance so it's the good wholesome story but can I just put in that established relationships create amazing angst and it should be tapped into a lot more.)

Strangers to lovers

I love this kind of story. Imagine meeting someone randomly and ending up being together with that person. Like the barista in your fave coffee shop that sees you all wrecked and - wow, you're actually really compatible. Or you walk into a stranger on the street and as you look into their eyes, something sparks and you know that this is a chance you're only given once in a chance.

Like these things don't happen to me but they're really sweet to imagine and I like how the author's play around the whole "stranger"-thing because ... you know, it would be really awkward to tell them "we should go out" on that very first meeting. So you either have to let fate play a part of the story (which is so cute!) or .. you know, work around it better?

They're still strangers so they need a way to get to know each other and I think it's such a cute story. I really enjoy it because most of the stories I read are super cute when they're strangers to lovers. It doesn't have to be much. It doesn't even have to end with them together but just the implication makes me go all gooey.

Strangers to lovers are those romance stories I wish would happen in real life to me but I'm not 1) pretty enough for a strangers to lovers or 2) extrovert enough for a strangers to lovers to happen, haha.

Drunkenly confessing your love

Look, I know alcohol is unhealthy and stuff but ... I'm not against alcohol and I really think the drunk confessions are super cute. It's like ... hahaha, so relatable. You're with your crush and you get hammered and say something you really didn't mean to say!

It's even cuter when they're awkward afterwards but it doesn't happen very often. Most of the time they just accept it. Still, though, I really like this kind of story because I relate so hard and honestly, I just understand the need to get hammered when you have a crush.

(Where's my bottle of white wine D: )

Friends teasing someone with their crush

What's not to love? I love these stories because they're usually really funny. They have a comedic element that I really enjoy and it's super nice to read. Super cute too. They are often a little ... innocent somehow? Like from the dark of the world but they exist in a cute vacuum where everything is good because you know - in the end, they'll get their crush anyway. uwu

I can't think of anything more because I think these are very broad but I just really love romance stories, especially these days lol.

Until next time!

(I just realised my whole love life is full of strangers-to-lovers moments. 😱 Wtf-)
It’s so hard to come across established relationships stories. (ToT) The concept of it is so nice and there’s so many fun and cute things you can have the two characters doing. (QvQ) (I have one established relationship story, now that I realised-)

Hmm, my favourite love story, eh? I’m not sure, I don’t usually bother so long as it’s KyuWook. X’D If I really have to choose though, my favourite love stories are my style! :D //shot

I've written all of these except "Friends teasing someone with their crush" at one point or another. I probably didn't do as much with the "drunken confession" or "strangers to lovers" as I could have - my strength tends to be in established relationships.
