TRAINEE BACKGROUND [ ⋆ ]  Shortly after Erika's boyfriend passed away, her Youtube channel got noticed by Fantasia Entertainment, particularly her self-written song about her bullies and got in touch with her to be a songwriter for their upcoming girl group Cherry Day, thinking she could do something good for them. Erika accepted and moved to Korea with her mum and Hana (and her guitar). In October 2014, a Cherry Day trainee dislocated her left knee joint and was dropped from the line-up as Choi Younghwan did not want the group's debut to be dragged, and Erika was added to the line up for Cherry Day. "Choi Younghwan, are you crazy?" Erika wasn't very happy with the fact that she was abruptly added to a girlgroup against her wishes, she wasn't too on board with the idea of being a performer but most of the girls were pretty nice and helped her adjust.

Cherry Day debuted in February 2015 with "Cherry On Top", which many considered cringeworthy, and Erika felt uncomfortable having to perform such ual dance moves, fearing what others would say about her if they knew she's a mum. She wished Younghwan would just disband them right away and let her go back to Japan but Younghwan insisted they try again. In July 2015, Cherry Day made a comeback with "Don't Believe". Erika felt slightly better about this other than having to wear, in her words, "shorts that looked like underwear" in the MV. She felt that she was a bad mum for spending so much time away from her young daughter and being so "shameless" even though it wasn't really her choice and was so relieved when Yonghwan decided to disband Cherry Day three months after Don't Believe.

When Yonghwan rebranded Cherry Day as Nova with the addition of Herculis in 2016, Erika was happy that he seemed to have planned everything out better and she was more comfortable with the concept. However, she was a bit shook at being chosen to be the leader of the new group. "Why me?" She felt that she wasn't suited to be a leader and that Phoenicis or Yeeun would make a better leader, and she was worried that the girls wouldn't like her as a leader. Furthermore, she wondered if the girls had started to secretly dislike her as she had caught Pavonis ing about her thinking she wouldn't know.

In April 2017, Younghwan announced that the girls were going to be on a reality show and that two new members would be added to the group for the show. Oh no, more people Erika possibly wouldn't get along with. Vulpeculae was very young and looked up to Erika as a role model, something the latter couldn't deal with well as a role model was the last thing she considered herself. One thing that did make her feel slightly better though, was that one of the songwriters on Make Or Break was pretty cute and could possibly be the only one who truly liked her. In fact, she loved him so much that she dedicated her solo song for the show to him.

A netizen claiming to be a mother stated that the only possible reason for wearing foundation at that area would be to cover up a C-section scar and that she does so when she wears swimsuits. From there, netizens speculated that Erika became pregnant shortly before becoming a trainee and that she was forced to give birth in a rush so that she dould debut as a Cherry Day member. This scandal is false - she was pregnant long before becoming a trainee. "My daughter is already 5 years old, I can show you her birth certificate."
// "Nova's Erika suffering from anxiety disorder?" The pressure of being a leader got to Erika and she ended up suffering from anxiety disorder which Fantasia Entertainment made her get treatment for. A company car of Fantasia Entertainment was spotted outside a building which had a psychiatrist clinic and Erika was spotted exiting the clinic and entering the car. BACKGROUND [ ⋆ ]

 Sato Erika was born in Chiba, Japan on 14 February 1993 to a widowed mother. Her mother offered guitar lessons in their home and thus Erika too learnt to play the guitar when she was 5 years old. She quickly fell in love with singing while playing the guitar. Her neighbour worked in a supermarket and snuck milk home for little Erika, and she quickly grew taller than most children her age.

Unfortunately, this earned her bullying in elementary and middle school as she was taller than many of the girls and even boys. When she was 14, she wrote a song detailing the bullying she suffered and her feelings, recorded a video of herself singing while playing the guitar and uploaded it to Youtube. She recieved many praises for her sweet voice and was offered a few kind words and encouragement to ignore her bullies too. This spurred her to produce more covers. From then on, when she got bullied in school, she just went home, recorded herself singing any song she felt like while playing her guitar and uploaded it on Youtube.

Erika's high school life was slightly better for a short while. In her first year of high school, she fell in love with a male schoolmate and they started dating, and she became pregnant after they made love in the school library. Although they were both very young, they wanted to have the baby. He got a part time job as a convenience store cashier and promised to get into a good university and get a better job in the future. Not wanting anyone to know she became pregnant, Erika dropped out of school and started offering guitar coaching like her mum.

During a routine checkup when Erika was 8 months pregnant, the baby's heartbeat was abnormally low and Erika was rushed to the OT for an emergency C-section. Although her baby girl was still alive, she was breathless as a result of the umbilical cord becoming twisted. Miraculously, the doctors managed to save her. Erika named the little girl Hana as she felt that she bloomed like a flower under tough circumstances. Life was pretty normal after that until 2012 when Erika's boyfriend had a nosebleed for seemingly no reason. A visit to the doctor revealed that he was suffering from cancer and wouldn't have long to live. During the last 2 years of his life, Erika devoted herself completely to taking care of him and making sure those two years were happy. He passed away peacefully on 25 February 2014.

RELATIONSHIP [ ⋆ ] Chuu likes Erika a lot and expresses it openly and rather ostentatiously, which scares Erika at times. Also, Erika sees Chuu more as a younger sister or daughter because of the latter's childlikeness. Chuu was upset at getting rejected by Erika but in the end it wasn't too bad because when the former was chosen to be part of another girl group she found comfort in an older girl. HISTORY [ ⋆ ] Daiki is a songwriting coach on Make Or Break and the two clicked quite quickly as they're both Japanese and also songwriters, and Erika dedicated her solo song for the show to him. 

STATUS [ ⋆ ] Married - Erika became pregnant with Daiki's baby and he freaked out when he learnt about her pregnancy. "I made a baby? I made a baby?? I MADE A BABY????" However, he eventually took responsibility after the other girls and / or his guy friends encouraged him. The only thing was that he had to buy lots of tomatoes, possibly his most disliked food in the world but he felt it was worth it for Erika. Yuki was happy to have another grandchild and Hana was exhilarated that she would have a baby sibling as some of her classmates had baby siblings and she wanted one too.
