(Writers) Let's Do 'Dis #15 - Distract the Readers? I think NOT. + Formatting, Pretty Colors, Videos & SHINee's Back (MV - Good Evening :D )

(Writers) Let's Do 'Dis - Distract the Readers?  I think NOT.
Guys,
Today-
-I read a blog post on Plot Holes that irritated me.
The author said something along the lines of:
If you absolutely can't figure out a way to fix a Plot Hole - Distract the reader...
No.
I'm going to be frank:  Do Not do That.
If a story is as far away from reality as possible:  Fantasy, Crack (this may be a little of an exception, because - Crack, but usually even those stick to a reasonable stable, believable...ish Plot), etc...
Hopefully you're following me so far.
The being frank part is:  Distracting readers instead of doing the research, delving fully in to each character and every part of the world you've created - is lazy writing-
-and distracting instead of doing the best job we can do is - well, it seems like cheesy salesmanship...
...You know those cheesy annoying tv or radio stations that repeat their name fifty times or promise ridiculous things, only to find out there's a bottom line:  Hidden Fees, etc...
That's what I'm talking about.
It's shiver worthy.
What is a Plot Hole?
I'll give you an image example-
-Oh yes.  If you haven't noticed:  I have internet again.  *Jumps up and down.  - I'm so happy.  It's so much easier to type on my laptop, than on my phone.  And of course the formatting and pretty colors.  We've morned the lack of this for like a week or a week and a half.  It's much much better.  Yaas.
Moving On...  ;)
Plot Hole Image Example
(Not My Images, Credit goes to owners... who ever they are.  I found them on Google Images.)
Basically, the top guy says:  They spared no expense - and yet they only hired one guy to write computer code for the entire theme park.  Does that seem believable to you, because it doesn't to me.
When things get dicey:  The genetically engineered dinosaur, with mixed DNA of different dinosaurs, which makes it infinity more dangerous escapes - this coder has hacked the system to steal money (if I remember correctly).  He just happens to be a bad guy, who played all of them.
How convenient.
And I believe I said that while I was watching the movie.
If it's obviously unrealistic it's just like:  *Sigh-
-and I get annoyed at hearing, "Well, it's a movie."  Basically, it's become such habit in television that it's a thing to just chalk it up to being "a movie?"
How depressing that modern day television accepts this as normal.
What happened to quality work.
When you write something is that the response you want to get from your reader?
I don't.  I'd be ashamed and embarrassed.
If I did something like that on accident - I wouldn't (not that specific issue), but ya get what I'm saying?
My failure would be a little more bareable, but I still wouldn't be ok with it.  Even if I published it (and I plan on self publishing, because I love having full creative control) I'd go back in and edit every thing.  And wouldn't apologize for it.  I'd explain to my readers and I'm sure the ones who haven't turned away from my work, because of the obvious issue, would appreciate it.
And I wouldn't blame people for turning away, because that's unacceptable, and boring - and if your an avid reader:  You see it coming from a mile away.  How boring.  Also, unacceptable.  It may not be a big deal to you, but I hold my work to a high standard-
-Even if some of my past work is embarrassing.  *covers face - I've learned a lot since I first start posting on AO3 and here.  It's hard to continue old work because of it, but I keep on treking.  I promised my reader entertainment and finished works, and I keep my promises.  ;)
What standard do you hold yourself to?
Is the promises you make to your readers important?
The answers to these questions may be what determines the outcome of your work, and how your readers react to you as the author.
Here's another image example:
This is a major no-no Plot Hole.
If you add a detail like this (movie wise), or you have your character removing his tie as he walks in to a room - don't forget it.
A)  Tony Stark went in the room, removing the tie that had been the bane of his equally bad day.  He took a shower.
...  I don't get it.
What happened to the tie?  If you didn't plan on doing any thing with it, why add it?
B)  Tony Stark went in the room, removing the tie that had been the bane of his equally bad day.  He threw it in to a wall and stalked to the restroom.  The shower did little to calm him.
Tuh-Duh.
Much better.
We felt his frustration.  The tie played an important roll in telling us how much he hates ties, and it allowed us to build his development by showing how he reacted to first having to wear it, and how he reacts to such a stressful day.  The tie became important and wasn't just... a thing.  An unimportant, useless thing.
If it's not important it's useless.
Period.
If it's added and used uselessly, it becomes that dreaded thing this blog post is about - a Plot Hole.  ;)
This type of thing irritates me.  I *eye twitch - at it.  Or want to break my computer, depending on my day.  I would throw my tie... if I wore them.
Until Tomorrow,
I hope these tips helped,

PS:
Let's not forget the - [!] Me-Share  (It's going to be at the bottom from now on.  It'll be where the videos are - if they don't directly have any thing to do with the Writer's Tip(s).  ;)
I think this'll make it easier on you guys who could care less about my personal life - or my ridiculously embarrasing since of humor - and or jumble of random crap - that may or may not be caused from a bipolar mood shift.
I won't apologize for my disorder, but having the post in this order gives you the option of it simply being educational - and/or (for your convenience) - you choosing to indulge in the life of the author (and all the silly, weird, unique qualities that make me-me.  ;)
No pressure.  I'm here to help those that want to be helped in their craft, and for those that like a good eye roll/laugh every day.
On to this section...
...like it hasn't already begun.   *Snickers.
This is the first video I've posted since I lost internet.  And it's inspirational.
If you're feeling down or discouraged in life, or your craft - watch it.
She's honest, and real - and her voice sounds just as amazing in acoustic as on her MV's.
---
Jessie J - Masterpeice
---
Love it.  When I'm down it picks me up.  She's a unique character.  You should watch her video:  Do it like a Dude.  ;)  Here let me help.
There's um... no no square grabbing in this video...
...like the girls telling that they can grab themselves and wear their hats... or maybe it was their pants low like you (the dudes).  Just watch it.  Haha.
Jessie J - Do it like a Dude
---
She also has a video I love, because I was the weird little kid that one of her favorite cartoons as a child was - Alice in Wonderland.  It's the theme here.  I love it.  The world and make up - and vocals are off the charts (at least to me).  You decide for you.
Jessie J - Nobody's Perfect

---
And last, but not least *Iz excited - SHINee's Back-
-With a new MV - and it's amazing.
We all know the elephant in the room, Jonghyun.  Let's not discuss that.  For me it's time to move on.  He's never forgotten, but's it's been seven or eight months...
...they have his shadow in this video.  Just a moment, but it's meaningful.
The video is worth the watch (definitely, as SHINee always is), but if it'll be triggering for you - don't do that to yourself.  It's ok.  Give yourself the time you need.

PPS:
>  Would you mind helping me out - and taking the Yes or No Poll below?  (Do you like this posts new order?  Writer's Tip on top and [!} Me-Share at the bottom?)
It helps me help you better enjoy your experience here.
Thank you so much.
~ Demitria_Teauge... who keeps spelling her name wrong (and auto correct had nothing to do with that one).

*Sighs.  I had to edit that one, because I typed the exact same thing.  Xp
