I've fallen out of the reader part of AFF, especially recently, and I quite miss reading the occasional story. I suppose I may just be too picky, though, in terms of what I like, since it's hard for me to find one and get past the first chapter nowadays. But, I AM GOING TO TRY HARDER! So, if any of you have any recommendations for fics out there, then please share (doesn't have to be just AFF). I read pretty much all genres, so anything goes. I just want some g o o d and q u a l i t y fics, please. Especially Seventeen and NCT, because there aren't enough of those and I just don't want to miss out T^T

Here's a list of my own recommendations, though I suppose some of this might be "outdated" (good fics never get old, so I use that term lightly and only in the sense that isn't much that's on the newer side). Oh, and Exo is also included, but I don't read a ton of Exo anymore.

Flex by yongharu21 ongoing* [Seventeen, SVT Leaders x OCs, fantasy]
-Before anyone says anything, yes I am very close with yongharu21, but I am NOT recommending her fics because she's my friend. We, in fact, became friends out of admiration for each others fics, and my love her writings stems from more than just my love for her.
-This story is equally centric around S.Coups, Hoshi and Woozi and their respective OCs (which... if you read and see the names of the OCs... just don't judge, lmao. Let us indulge). While it is full of comedy and romance, those aren't the key points and the story itself has so much to offer. She only has up to chapter 8 posted, but I've read ahead to like chapter 24 and I can vouche that it is honeslty so amazing. It's detailed and intricate and probably one of my favorite stories of all time. You really can grow an attachment to the characters and I guarantee no one will regret reading this story once they do. The deeper it gets to further you fall.

The Great Pretenders by vanillasushi complete* [Baekhyun x OC]
-Honestly, anything by vanillasushi is absolutely amazing. Her writing is so wonderful and her characters always have such different personalities. It's easy to fall in love with her style and get addicted and subscribe to basically all of them (like I have, lol). I could recommend so much more, but I'll stick with one and the additional note to check more out cause you won't regret it.
-The reason I chose this fic is because the relationship between Baek and the OC is so very different from any relationship you'll ever read about. It's far more realistic than the sugar-coated romances we often read here on this site (which I am guilty of writing, myself) and gives an entirely new perspective on what some relationships really are like. You both hate and love the characters, because they're like us. We love and hate ourselves all the time, and it's really just... I can't even explain it any further. Just give it a read if you haven't, lol.

Detective by yongharu21 ongoing* [Yong Junhyung, OC, Yang Yoseob, Son Dongwoon, Beast/Highlight, mystery/thriller]
-Bit of a warning for squimish people, this story does have gore in it, so it is not for the faint of heart.
-Like I said, Haru and I became friends via our stories, and Detective was one of the very first stories that I read on AFF after creating my new account, and defintely something I wouldn't normally give a shot. It's a crime mystery with a dash of horror (okay... maybe a tad bit more than a "dash") and it's so good. You'll find yourself getting lost in it and wanting to know what happens next, because you're just as in the dark about everything as the characters... well, no. That's a lie. You see more than the main characters do, and that adds to the whole element of frustration. There are clues give that you try and figure out yourself and just so much detail. Guys, if you like mysteries this one is a great one to give a go at.

Sleepwalking to you (It's out of my control) complete* [Jhope x OC] and Amor Vincit Omnia complete* [Suga x OC] by sparklebookie
-I actually found the Jhope fic after reading the Suga fic because I loved this authors writing style. 
-Both fics are more great examples of showcases couples that are far more realistic than what we often get to see. It shows the ugly sides of relationships just as much as the good, and I feel like you can almost learn something about how to handle being in a relationship by reading these and following their mistakes. The plot for each are also really nice, though very different.

Tutor by cheejiburger complete* [Jhope x OC]
-This story was recommended to me by a friend while it was still ongoing and I almost didn't read passed the first chapter because I thought it was a oneshot. It has the feel. But, then I saw it had more chapters afterward and I found myself continuing and then it turned into one of the cutest and amazing fics I had ever read. The relationship between the reader and Jhope is seriously so cute and precious and innocent, while also very not innocent given the fact that it's . You just really start to root for them and fall in love more and more with each passing chapter. Honestly, if I had a boyfriend as amazing as Hobi in this, I would be set for life.

In Bloom by tayegi complete* [Jungkook x OC]
-Another great example of an author who you should read everything by. Literally A+++++++ and not just because of the .
-This isn't even my absolutely favorite, but I figured it would be an excellent example to give and I've been living for the werewolf genre recently. The writing style is honestly amazing though, and I would happily read it over and over again with or without the .

The Summer of Seven by Nelsiexoxo_16 complete* [BTS, angst]
-Trigger warning for people sensitive to angst, but highly recommended.
-This was another recommendation given to me that I almost didn't give a chance cause I read it during a time when my depression was kind of bad and was worried it would make things worse, but it surprisingly didn't, given the heavy topics. And I mean it when I say h e a v y. The ending left me at peace somehow, though it is very bittersweet. It left a lasting impression on me, and I think anyone should give it a read at least once.

Withdrawal Symptoms by Kpopfox complete* [Jimin x OC]
-Look, I loved this fic so damn much, I made a poster for it. I am not gifted graphically, but I wanted to give it a shot because I loved. it. so. much. So, the poster you see was made by me (hence the not so amazing quality, but ah well).
-This story wasn't what i was expecting it to be, honestly. I began reading it thinking it would turn out like every other cliche fic I had read at the time, but it didn't. It surprised me and to this day is probably my favorite fanfiction of all time (along with Flex, of course). It made me feel so many emotions (which, if you're an INTJ, you understand is very difficult to do). I don't even have proper words to explain why I love this fic so much because it's beyond my imagination. It's the first fic I think of whenever I get asked what my favorite is, every time.

The Thin Veil by DGNA_Forever complete* [SoonHoon, fantasy]
-Okay, this one is definitely self-indulgent cause it was written for me as my secret santa gift for 2017, but that doesn't mean that's the only reason I'm recommending it. I love Seventeen for quite a while, and like I said at the beginning of this post, I feel like it's hard to find really good Seventeen fics for me, and while I don't normally read boyxboy or girlxgirl fics, I'm not opposed to them, and this was so freaking cute I- asdjfkadsfka UGH. I was cheering the whole time like "Yas bish, you go get him" and it just made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. 

Laughter (웃음꽃) by aishimasu ongoing*? [Jihoon x OC]
-I'm actually very sad to say this story might be discontinued, at least temporarily, because it was one that I was extremely excited for. I am very picky when it comes to fics, which is why I usually only read and get excited for ones that left an impression on me, and this one left an impression on me from just the foreword and the prologue. I found myself relating to Jihoon's character and I do hope that this story will return one day, and I know it'll be kickass when it does. 

I have a few more I could suggest (namely more by yongharu21, lmao, I'm not being a shameless friend, I promise, they're really good) but this post would get even longer. So, please do share your own recommendations. I'm open to any and all.
