Style: He likes to wear navy and black coloured clothing when going out or working but when at home he wears whites and ivory. His clothing ensemble are usually quite simple and plain. Example: jeans, one colour shirt or button-up, and a jacket. All his pants have multiple pockets. Always have running shoes, watch, and his stele on him.

Riku is quite laid back and relax most of the time, happy to let things be and deal with them as they come. However when necessary he doesn't mind being considerably more hard working. When younger he is well-known to have a troublesome attitude (sort of a smug 'fight me' attitude). He's quite cunning, mischievous, and somewhat sadistic, usually playing pranks, tricking and at times manipulating, humiliating and fighting others.
Despite his troublesome attitude and sadistic nature, he actually have good values and mottivation, and be quite empathic to other people, and likes to help. He treats everyone the same and is not prejudiced against any one, believing everyone has their own special talents, strengths and weaknesses. Every word out of his mouth is quite polite but some of them can be full of sass and very cutting.
He cares for a selected few people, and is very protective of them. Extremely intelligent, he is very good at planning and making sure things goes his way. He can be impulsive, when fighting with beings who truly threaten him, his family and his friends, he can be very brutal and cruel.

Riku is from a wealthy and successful family. His parents are always going on bussiness for the Clave and thus spent little time with him when he was growing up even though they do try to stay in touch; making Riku quite independant and very self-reliant. Born in Idris, however his house/home there borrows heavily from the Japanese culture, so some of his actions are very Japanese even if he is not aware of it. When he was younger he learnt Japanese to please his parents, which is why he knows Japanese.
He first met Yeong at this certain dinner party... Officially to celebrate and socialise, unofficially for the older meddling shadowhunters to matchmake. He was persuaded to attend by his parents; "you're not getting any younger, and you haven't even had a girl/boyfriend ever." "Okasan!! Otosan?!" "Most of your classmates and training mates have been dating and some of them even getting married soon!"
Used to live in Idris at the family home, but by some nifty coincidence he was sent by the Clave to be based in Seoul Institute, so he rented an apartment nearby the Institute.

Appearance: Basically the same, except he needs glasses. So when on missions he usually tries to wear contacts in case the glasses gets in the way.
Style: Mostly wears deep dark colours, easier to hide stains (especially blood and ichor) and easier to 'match' things together. His style is mostly just layering, e.g. undershirt, a light shirt and/or then a thicker buttonup, some type of jumper, jacket, sweater or hoodie, maybe some type of coat on top and then jeans, socks and gear boots. Always wearing his earrings and weaponised watch everywhere. Formal situations he wears a suit, comfy tough boots that looks like dress shoes at the first glance, vest, and sometimes a loose tie. Sleepwear is loose comfortable clothing. Training would be trackies and a light shirt and jacket, with sneakers. Wears his glasses all the time except when he is on a mission, official or not. So, when on a mission he wears contacts.

Despite looking cool, competent, collected, aloof and badass, he's actually almost the opposite; pretty awkward, clumsy, sweet and dorky. Better known for his terrifying intellect than any awesome combat skills. His brain-to-mouth filter needs work, always blurting out blunt and/or sarcastic statements, irritating people. However, he can totally turn on the charm when needed, for example to get information from people. He's more someone who rather work behind-the-scenes rather than up front with the shining paragon of a shadowhunter that Kain is seen to be.
He's outspoken, quite hyperactive and immensely intelligent, has a quick mind for puzzles and research, but is prone to distraction and fumbling about due in part to his short attention span. Despite his scatterbrained shenanigans and penchant for sarcastic quips, he is well-meaning and very protective of those he cares for.
Headstrong and gutsy Yeong has an unwavering loyalty and camadarie to those close to him, to the extent that he would go out of his way to help even if it would cause him trouble or even when it becomes a life threatening situation he would keep going until the objective have been acheived. Due to his knowledge of the laws (both mundane and shadow world), inquisitiveness, natural intelligence and his aptitude for research, analysis, deduction, and solving mysteries; Yeong takes satisfaction in gathering clues and evidence in identifying 'enemies' and solving problems (hopefully) before it becomes a major headache.
Slow to trust people, he is always being highly suspicious to anyone newly introduced, rarely ever taking them at face value. Has good gut instincts, so usually he judges correctly. He's cynical and pragmatic, a realist; however he is an optimistic one.

Yeong's mother died when he was 10 years old on a mission gone wrong. Ever since then he always worried and 'keep an eye out' whenever his father is going on missions. He learnt all the laws (and it's loopholes) and how to use the newest technology just to keep up and monitor his father. He met Kain (who became his best friend and then parabatai) when he was 7 years old in a mutual training session. During a break in the training session some older kids were pushing around and jeering some of the younger kids and Yeong was being a smartass and mouthing off to them even while being flatten, Kain decided to interfere since no bullying is tolerated, especially right under his (the eldest child of Seoul institute leaders) nose.
After the bullies were told off and bested by Kain, Yeong petulantly said: I got it handled. Kain raised a disbelieving eyebrow and said in a deadpan voice: Of course, you did.
After that incident Yeong insisted to eat lunch with Kain, always popping up (somehow) whereever Kain happens to be taking his break. Sharing the same protective instincts, sass and intelligence, they can keep up with and balance each other out well with their other traits (such as, Yeong can totally roll with his manipulativeness, and Kain is fond of Yeong's clumsiness - he finds that people tends to underestimate Yeong which give him an edge) so they quickly become fast friends and then Kain asked him to be his parabatai. Kain trusts Yeong's instincts and advice.

Very protective of her even though she can protect herself just fine. He does try to stop Kain's overly controlling nature when it comes to her.

Weaponry: 4 : Also, because he is Kain's (the most skilled shadowhunter in Seoul) parabatai, he has to trained himself to be good enough not to drag Kain down when on missions. His favoured weapon is a bo staff modified to be collapsible (for easy concealment) and can have adamas blades attached to the ends to kill demons. He's also proficient in weilding double daggers.
