KYUNG MI'S THOUGHTS ON MASEOL'S STAFF AND STUDENT BODY
Staff
Professor Moon is Kyung Mi's absolute favorite professor. He's good-looking, smart, and incredibly easy to talk to. Kyung Mi sometimes jokingly wishes that she had been placed in Namgeon, since she would be able to see him more often as he is the Head of Namgeon. She harbors an unapologetic crush on him and does her absolute best in Herbology, especially, by constantly raising her hand to answer questions and by actively participating in any in-class demonstrations. One of Kyung Mi's favorite past-times is gushing over how amazing Professor Moon is to her friends.

Professor Zhang is one of Kyung Mi's Quidditch idols. She's a great and encouraging flying instructor, and very fair on the Quidditch field. Kyung Mi enjoys speaking in Chinese with Professor Zhang as well, to ensure that her language skills don't get rusty, and usually looks to the flying instructor for personal advice. The fact that Professor Zhang is also the Head of Wideok, the house that Kyung Mi considered being sorted into, is also an added bonus.

Professor Cho, as the Head of Girim, is someone that Kyung Mi greatly admires. He upholds the ideals of Girim, which she strives to follow to the best of her abilities, and he has a lot of experience and knowledge on life beyond Maseol as an employee of the Ministry of Magic, which she is eager to learn about. Kyung Mi also greatly enjoys learning about Transfiguration from Professor Cho, and she tries her best to be one of his top students to make him and her house proud.

Professor Song is Kyung Mi's least favorite professor. As the Head of Anseung, he has a negative bias against her, which he is very open about, and he is usually the one to catch her and her friends whenever they are exploring the school grounds. Professor Song has given Kyung Mi detention and taken away Girim house points several times, which she believes is unfair and unnecessary. Although she knows she should respect him since he is a professor and an adult, she can't help but dislike him to the core.

Oteka is another one of Kyung Mi's favorite professors, especially since he teaches one of her favorite classes, Care of Magical Creatures. Although she isn't very close to him at first, Kyung Mi actively participates in his class and tries to learn as much as she can from him, even staying behind after class to help him round up the creatures he brings to show to the students. She is especially excited whenever Oteka lectures about dragons and unicrons, since they are her favorite magical creatures, and she is usually the first to volunteer to handle creatures in class.

Girim
Kyung Mi is friends with Minatozaki Sana, since the other girl is very nice, friendly, and caring.
Out of Jaemin's best friends, Kyung Mi is the closest to Park Jimin, since he loves Quidditch as much as she does and they're both on the Girim Quidditich team. She thinks Jimin is a nice guy and is somewhat similar in personality to Mark, but more flirtatious and selfish. Kyung Mi is also relatively close to Kim Taehyung, who is on the Girim Quidditch team as well. She thinks Taehyung is quite friendly and very fun to hang around sometimes, but he can also come off as kind of weird at other times. Kyung Mi likes Jeon Jungkook, since he is loyal and relatively quieter than the rest of his friends, which balances out their overall craziness.

Wideok
Kyung Mi is friends with Shannon Williams, since she is very nice and also likes magical creatures. Kyung Mi is also friends with Liang's twin sister, Huang Xieren, and tries to get the quiet girl out of her shell and sometimes speaks Chinese with her.
Kyung Mi likes Jooyeon's best friends, Choi Yuna and Kim Joonmyeon, but doesn't hang out with them often because they have different studying habits. Kyung Mi also likes Park Chaeyoung, since she enjoys competing intellectually with her.
Kyung Mi is friendly rivals with Yook Sungjae, since they play against each other as Seeker for their respective house Quidditch teams, but they're both also very adventurous and let each other know what new places to explore on the school grounds.

Namgeon
Kyung Mi likes Taejin's best friend, Kim Rowoon, because he's a very nice person, even if he's kind of shy and awkward at times. She also likes Choi Yewon and tries to get the other girl to go out more instead of staying cooped up inside.
Kyung Mi is friendly rivals with Ahn Bora, since they play against each other as Seeker for their respective house Quidditch teams and they've known each other since before coming to Maseol, because they're both from pureblood families.

Anseung
Kyung Mi is neutral towards Lee Taemin, because he's not a bad person like most of his housemates, but he's also in the rival house.
Kyung Mi dislikes Kim Hanbin, Kim Jinhwan, Lisa Nantakarn, Jennie Kim, and Park Siyeon, because she thinks they are unnecessarily rude and mean to others. But she is neutral towards Bobby Kim, because he is not as much of a jerk as the rest of his friends are. Kyung Mi also dislikes Shim Suk for dabbling in the Dark Arts.

— THE CLASSMATES.

— THE HESITANT.
Moon Hyerin / Jeon Somi / Lion_heart36

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Hyerin is a really sweet girl! She's pretty quiet most of the time, but she's a great listener and an even better friend. I can't tell you how many times she's helped me out whenever I get into trouble. Granted, she does regularly tell me that exploring restricted areas is a bad idea, so it is my fault for not listening to her advice in the first place. But anyway, I'm really glad I met Hyerin and I really hope she can make lots of friends at Maseol! I don't know why anyone wouldn't like her. She's loyal and brave, even if she doesn't think so. It takes a lot of guts to stand up for what you believe in, which is what she does."

Hyerin's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi, although quite wild at times, has her heart in the right place. I actually really admire her. I'm...not very social and it's hard for me to make friends with others. People weren't very kind to me in the past, so I try to...keep to myself when I can. But Kyung Mi is the complete opposite of me. She can be friends with just about anyone if she wants to and she's always going on adventures. I don't have the courage to do that. But regardless, I really appreciate how kind she's been to me, and she's definitely brought a lot of fun and laughter into my life."

Character Interactions

"Hyerin, guess what?" Kyung Mi ran up to the Namgeon girl, who was slowly walking away from Grand Hall.

Hyerin turned around and then quickly stepped to the side to avoid Kyung Mi barreling into her on accident. As the Girim girl's thin body lurched forward, unable to stop the momentum, Hyerin shot a hand out to grab onto Kyung Mi's wrist and pull the other girl back. "Oh my, are you alright?" the Namgeon girl fretted in a soft voice.

Kyung Mi patted her rumpled robes down before flashing Hyerin a bright smile. "Yeah, thanks for helping me out there. I would've landed flat on my face if you hadn't caught me and then Mark would have never let me live that down." The Girim girl winced slightly when she thought of her best friend teasing her even more than he already did.

"It's no problem," Hyerin murmured as a light flush spread across her cheeks. She was rarely thanked for anything by anyone. "So what were you in such a rush to talk to me about?"

"Oh yeah!" Kyung Mi's dark brown eyes lit up as she tightly clasped her hands around the Namgeon girl's slim hands. "Mark, Ji Min, and I think we've found a new underground passage and we're going to see if it connects to any cool places in the castle. Maybe we'll find a new shortcut from the Girim common room that we can use!" she said excitedly.

After a few seconds, Hyerin quietly commented, "That sounds...dangerous."

"Don't worry. We'll be fine," Kyung Mi answered with a confident grin. "Anyway, I wanted to ask if you'd come exploring with us. You always refuse whenever we go outside of the castle, but this time, we'll be inside. Maybe we'll find a passage that connects the Girim common room to the Namgeon common room!"

"You know we're in different corners of the castle," Hyerin reminded the Girim girl. "I don't know if the Maseol founders would have created such a path."

"Exactly! We don't know, so this is our chance to find out!" Kyung Mi exclaimed. "Oh, please say you'll come with us, Hyerin! I promise it'll be fun!"

There was another pause as Hyerin contemplated her friend's words. The thought of exploring such uncharted territory honestly terrified the Namgeon girl, but Kyung Mi was also looking at her with such a pleading expression on her face. Hyerin didn't want to disappoint the Girim girl, but she also didn't know if she felt brave enough to do something so daring. So she sent Kyung Mi a small smile as she replied, "I'll...think about it."

Kyung Mi knew what Hyerin was trying to convey with that statement, so she toned down her excitment and smiled kindly at her soft-spoken friend. "I guess I can't ask for more than that. But one day, Moon Hyerin. One day, I'll get you to go on an adventure with me."

Relationship Trivia

♚ Kyung Mi and Hyerin usually meet up in the Grand Hall or in the School Library, especially when it's exams season to study together.

♚ Kyung Mi usually tells Hyerin beforehand where she, Mark, and Ji Min will be exploring, just in case a professor or prefect looks for them while they are gone.

♚ Hyerin sometimes watches Kyung Mi's Quidditch practices when she has free time, especially since Park Jimin is usually practicing at the same time as well.

— THE BOOK WORM.
Kim JooYeon / Myoui Mina / _kellyyyV_

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Jooyeon kind of scared me at first, to be honest. I've never met anyone who can pull off a better poker face than she can. It was pretty tough trying to figure out how to approach her. But we got around to talking in Transfiguration class and it's nice having someone to compete with intellectually. Not a lot of my housemates from Girim like studying very much, so it's like a breath of fresh air whenever I hang out with Jooyeon. She rarely says anything though, so I'm usually talking most of the time. But I don't mind. She speaks her mind when it matters the most."

Jooyeon's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi is quite bombastic. I can see why she was placed in Girim rather than Wideok, although she certainly has the brains to be in my house. However, I don't think I could handle her explosive nature more than I currently do. It would honestly be quite tiring being around someone who talks so much all of the time. I know she means well and it's her way of connecting with others. But I'm not a talker. I do enjoy studying with Kyung Mi sometimes, though. She's actually very quiet when she studies and she's smart, so she serves as a relatively good study partner."

Character Interactions

"Hey, Jooyeon! Do you have a copy of the Potions textbook on hand right now?" Kyung Mi asked when she caught sight of the Wideok girl walking down the Spiral Stairs.

Jooyeon nodded blankly.

"Mind if I borrow it?" The Girim girl smiled sheepishly as the two walked down the staircase together. "Mark took my copy when I wasn't looking and I haven't finished my five-inch essay on the Wiggenweld Potion yet. It's due tomorrow, so I really need it."

Jooyeon arched an eyebrow as she deadpanned, "It's not that difficult to write about without a reference if you pay attention in class."

"It's Professor Song's class! Even if I do pay attention, I'm not going to learn anything from that snake," Kyung Mi said with a grimace. "It's easier for me to just learn from the textbook for that class. I still get high marks anyway."

"I suppose," the Wideok girl answered mildly as she pulled her textbook from her bookbag. "Well, I'd like to have it back tomorrow. I don't usually lend out my textbooks, but I'll make this an exception."

Kyung Mi gratefully accepted the Potions textbook from Jooyeon while repeatedly thanking her. "You have my word that it'll be back in your possession first thing tomorrow morning! I'll hand it back to you during breakfast."

The Wideok girl hummed and watched as Kyung Mi placed the textbook in her own bookbag.

"Okay, gotta run now! I have Quidditch practice tonight and this essay isn't going to write itself! See you later, Jooyeon!" Kyung Mi called over her shoulder, waving her right hand at the Wideok girl, as she began jogging towards the Girim dormitory.

Jooyeon just silently watched as the other girl disappeared before going on her way, murmuring recitations to herself.

Relationship Trivia

♚ Kyung Mi and Jooyeon have an informal rivalry with each other when it comes to academics, especially in Transfiguration.

♚ Kyung Mi teases Jooyeon about Kim Taehyung's obsession with the Wideok girl and how Jooyeon gets so uncharacteristically worked up over the Girim boy.

♚ Jooyeon shows Kyung Mi where the Forgotten Library is.

— THE BULLY #1.
Han Taeyang / Ji Soo / Jey-Chan

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Taeyang is awful. I'm not trying to be biased, since we're in rival houses, but he's such an arrogant prick. I know the Hans are known to be a family of pureblood elitists and it seems like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Taeyang and his little squad of Anseung snakes are some of the worst people in our year. They constantly bully others, especially those who are Muggleborn, and I can't tolerate it at all. I'm from a pureblood family as well, but that doesn't mean I'm a jerk to others who aren't. Not to mention, Taeyang is a despicable Quidditch player and I hate seeing him defile the best sport in the world. He plays dirty and he knows it."

Taeyang's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi may be from the Noble House of Son, but they're a bunch of blood traitors, according to my father. Apparently, her aunt married a filthy Mudblood wizard and it'll be no time at all before the entire Son family is tainted with impure blood. They won't be a revered pureblood family for long if they continue fraternizing with Mudbloods. Her cheerful personality is such an eyesore and it makes me want to hex her to the other side. She and her loser friends also get into so much trouble with their dumb adventures, and they just prove how stupid Girims are. Imagine having to live with so many blockheads for seven years. I'd rather use an Unforgivable Curse on myself. Honestly, Kyung Mi isn't even worth thinking about."

Character Interactions

Kyung Mi narrowed her eyes when she found herself in the same hallway that Taeyang was and the Anseung boy curled his bottom lip into a smirk as he looked down at the short girl. "Get out of my way, Han," she ordered curtly.

"Why should I?" Taeyang challenged back. He was already in a foul mood after barely eating anything for breakfast, since the food provided that day didn't match his taste buds at all, so he decided that egging on a Girim or a Mudblood would make him feel better. And it just so happened that Kyung Mi was the first one he came across, so she was the lucky target.

"Screw off, Han. Go slither back to your dungeon of a dormitory where you belong. I have important things to do," Kyung Mi gritted out.

"Like what? Get another detention from Professor Song?" Taeyang goaded. His smirk widened in satisfaction when he saw the Girim girl tense up.

"Shut up, Han."

Taeyang moved forward, causing Kyung Mi to step back to avoid being close to him, and he drew himself up at much as possible to tower completely over the small Girim girl. "Make me," he hissed in a low voice.

Kyung Mi felt her blood boil at his statement, and she was about to whip out her wand to do just that when she remembered Professor Cho's latest warning after Professor Song punished her with another detention. Taeyang was sure to tattle to the Head of Anseung if she were to jinx him, which would mean another chunk of House points lost for Girim and another horrid detention served under Professor Song's surpervision. As much as it pained her to restrain herself, Kyung Mi kept her fists clenched and pressed to her sides.

Seeing how the Girim girl refused to give in to his taunts, Taeyang clucked his tongue and decided that he'd find a different victim who would fight back. In any case, he could toy with Kyung Mi another time, like on the Quidditch field, if he felt like it. Teasing Mudbloods was more fun anyway. "You're pathetic, Son," he threw in before shoving his hands in his robe pockets and roughly bumping the small girl out of the way.

At that moment, Kyung Mi wished she had used every hex she knew on the Anseung boy, even if it meant she'd have to face the consequences later on. Because now Taeyang felt like he had won and Kyung Mi wasn't okay with that. She fumed silently as she stalked to the Girim common room, imagining every curse she knew being used on that rude, entitled brat from Anseung.

Relationship Trivia

♚ Kyung Mi and Taeyang throw hexes at each other during an argument that ensues after Kyung Mi catches him and his friends bullying a younger Muggleborn student.

♚ Kyung Mi pushes herself to get higher marks than Taeyang in all of their classes, especially Care of Magical Creatures.

♚ Taeyang uses his underhanded Quidditch tactics during a Girim vs. Anseung game to injure Mark, so Kyung Mi is unable to focus on the game as much due to being so worried about her best friend.

— THE BULLY #2.
Song Sungeun / Cha Eunwoo / ilikecheese

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Sungeun is dangerous and stuck-up. He's always lauding over everyone else, just because his father happens to be some overrated hot-shot in the Ministry. And like a typical Anseung, he and his friends bully Muggleborn wizards. It's like they have nothing better to do with their unproductive lives. One thing I will acknowledge is that Sungeun plays fair in Quidditch, unlike the rest of his teammates. It's a shame that all of his drive is used for the Dark Arts and his father's bidding. He could be doing great things for the wizarding world, but he's choosing to squander his talents on terrorizing those he believes are beneath him."

Sungeun's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi is that small fry from Girim, if I remember correctly. I don't bother with people like her, because it's an utter waste of my time. I have more important things to concern myself with. She thinks she's so tough, just because she's from Girim, but they're all idiots with no sense of self-preservation. I can't believe the Sorting Hat even considered placing me in that lowly house. However, I do respect Kyung Mi's flying skills. Of course I'm the better flyer, but she can certainly keep up better than most of the losers on the other Quidditch teams. Too bad it's all for naught, because Anseung will always triumph over Girim."

Character Interactions

"How dare you bully Hyerin like that!" Kyung Mi glared daggers at Sungeun, who merely glanced down at her before continuing on his way. "Oi! Song Sungeun! Get back here, you cowardly snake!"

And within seconds, Sungeun had his wand pointed at Kyung Mi while his lips were pressed together in a thin line. "Say that to my face, Son," he goaded, his voice dripping with venom.

"Oh, you think you can take me on in a duel?" the Girim girl asked with a mirthless laugh as she reached for her own wand.

"I know I can," Sungeun corrected as he looked down at Kyung Mi, who was much shorter than him.

Fire swirled in her eyes as she maintained eye contact with the Anseung boy. She refused to be the one to back down first. "You think you're so great and powerful, just because your father is in the Ministry," she spat as she stepped forward so that her wand was right in front of Sungeun. "Well, newsflash! Your father isn't the only one who works for the Ministry."

"Ah, I did forget that your father was also a Ministry worker. After all," Sungeun smirked dangerously as he leaned forward, his chest slightly bumping against the tip of Kyung Mi's wand, "he's been gone for the past few years, hasn't he? Disappeared without a trace."

The Girim girl's fingers noticeably tightened their grip around her wand as she glared murderously at Sungeun. "Shut up."

"Who knows where he could be. Your mother also disappeared with him, correct? The most reasonable assumption to make is that they're dead." The hand that wasn't holding his wand moved up to lightly press against the crystal necklace he wore around his neck. "Whereas my father is alive and doing well at the Ministry. So yes, I do think I'm above you, Son."

"You take that back," Kyung Mi growled. "I'll hex you if you don't."

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Professor Song might give you another set of detentions and you can't afford to miss the upcoming Quidditch game against Wideok, can you?" Sungeun smiled triumphantly when the Girim girl's hand stiffly began to lower. "There's a good girl. Now run along and maybe I won't ask my father to wipe out your pathetic excuse of a family for good."

Red sparks danced around the tip of Kyung Mi's wand, but she kept it lowered and let Sungeun turn on his heel to leave.

Relationship Trivia

♚ Kyung Mi and Sungeun are only respectful to each other on the Quidditch field.

♚ Kyung Mi considers Sungeun to be her rival during the Triwizard Tournament, because she absolutely cannot let Anseung take the glory away from Girim.

♚ Sungeun always reports to Professor Song if he catches wind of Kyung Mi and her friends exploring any forbidden areas, causing them to get detention on multiple occasions.

— THE ODDBALL.
Jin Lea / Park Seul / azure_bliss

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Lea is definitely as weird as everyone says she is. But that's what makes her so unique! I love talking to her, because I never know what she'll say next! She has no filter, which is super refreshing, especially when she's commentating on Quidditch matches. Besides, Taehyung is in my house. He's really weird at times as well, even if his strange quirks are different from Lea's loony habits. Anyway, it's also great to study with Lea, because the way she explains concepts makes them very easy to understand and it's fun! I learn a lot from her, even if some of the things she says and believes in are quite eccentric."

Lea's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi is quite interesting. She is like a fire, blazing her way to the very top. She has a very comforting warmth to her that attracts other people to her. The light that she emits dances all around her like rays of sun, brightening her surroundings and the people she is with. But if you carelessly add oil to this crackling fire, it can sometimes go out of control and harm you. Wind and water may also cause the flame to flicker or even be doused. But the bright spark within her will always light itself back into existence. Because Kyung Mi has the power to overcome anything in order to achieve her desires with her unflinching will."

Character Interactions

"Hey there! Are you Jin Lea?" Kyung Mi curiously stared at the Wideok girl wearing an assortment of strange, gaudy accessories.

"Why, yes, I am," Lea replied in her light, airy voice. She mindlessly fiddled with the Butterbeer Cork Necklace looped around her neck while looking off into the distance, past Kyung Mi.

The Girim girl waited patiently for Lea to make eye contact with her, but when the Wideok girl just continued to stare off into space, Kyung Mi said, "I've heard a lot about you and I wanted to see for myself if the rumors were true."

The corners of Lea's lips slightly turned up as she turned to Kyung Mi and smiled serenely at her. "Did you know that Nargles can be kept away with certain jewelry?"

"What are Nargles?" the Girim girl asked with a puzzled expression. She didn't remember ever reading about such a magical creature in any book.

"Curious little critters, they are," Lea answered as she fondly looked at her necklace. "They're very mysterious thieves, so it's quite difficult to catch them. But they do enjoy hiding in mistletoe, so be careful if you plan on snogging someone during Christmas."

Kyung Mi only laughed. After all, the thought of snogging anyone was gross. She was so young right now and she didn't like anyone at the moment. Well, except for Professor Moon, but he was a bit too old to snog. For now. Maybe when she was older, she'd entertain the idea of snogging the good-looking Herbology professor. "You're a riot, Lea," Kyung Mi declared with a wide grin decorating her face. "I almost wish I had been sorted into Wideok, just so I could hang out with you more often."

"The Sorting Hat does as it sees fit and you seem to undeniably belong to Girim," Lea commented as her eyes scanned Kyung Mi's red tie while adjusting the Purple Quill behind her ear. It had fallen slightly askew when she had turned to face Kyung Mi.

"Actually, it was also considering Wideok for me," the Girim girl revealed with a grin. "I'm quite smart, thanks to my photographic memory, and I love a good intellectual debate. I'm also planning to get top marks in my O.W.Ls and N.E.W.Ts when the time comes. So it was a bit of a hatstall when the Sorting Hat was deciding where I'd go, but I knew Girim was where I belonged in the end."

Lea was slightly taken aback by the news. Hatstalls weren't common, so she remembered the few that had taken place during their Sorting Ceremony. But to hear someone verbalize the experience itself was new and Lea found herself becoming intrigued by the girl in front of her. "Interesting. Very interesting."

"Let's be friends!" Kyung Mi proposed as she stuck her hand out to Lea. "I can tell it'll be a lot of fun hanging out with you. By the way, I'm Son Kyung Mi! I don't think I introduced myself yet." She flashed a bright smile at the Wideok girl.

Lea nodded while lightly shaking the Girim girl's hand. "Just be careful of the Nargles. It would be a shame if they stole something from you. It's very difficult to retrieve any lost items from them."

Kyung Mi laughed again and then slung an arm around Lea's thin shoulders. "Yeah, it's going to be loads of fun being your friend!"

Relationship Trivia

♚ Kyung Mi and Lea are seat partners in their Study of Ancient Runes class during their third year.

♚ Kyung Mi enjoys challenging Lea to games of Wizard Chess, even though she knows she'll most likely lose to the Wideok girl.

♚ Lea helps Kyung Mi study for History of Magic, which is the Girim girl's least favorite subject.

— THE FUN LOVING.
Nam Taejin / Choi Seungcheol / hosukk

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Taejin is pretty cool and it's a shame he was sorted into Namgeon instead of Girim. He's a great Chaser and one of the best flyers in the school, and our team would be so much stronger if he had been sorted into our house instead. But then I guess we'd win the Quidditch Cup every year without doing much and there's no fun in that. We need to let the other houses think they have a chance at winning. I kid, but it's really awesome to know that Namgeon has a powerful team with Taejin as one of their core members. It keeps our team motivated to practice hard and play well. Not to mention, Taejin is also a very nice guy to hang out with. We talk a lot, mostly about Quidditch since we're both obsessed with the sport, and he's really easy to get to know."

Taejin's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi is really good at Quidditch and I think she could become a professional player if she practiced more. She's pretty nice for the most part and very friendly to everyone. But wow, Kyung Mi becomes a beast when she's on the field. Her play style is more aggressive than a usual Seeker's, since she's constantly hovering around and staying involved while she searches for the Snitch. It actually makes it a bit difficult for me as a Chaser, since I have to avoid her, the Beaters and their Bludgers, and the other Chasers while I'm grappling for the Quaffle. But opponents like her make the game even more fun! That element of unpredictability that Kyung Mi brings definitely gets my adrenaline pumping! Playing Quidditch with her is awesome, which makes winning against Girim even more fulfilling!"

Character Interactions

"Yo, Tae, ready for Namgeon to lose next weekend?" Kyung Mi laughed loudly as she looked up and smiled confidently at the taller boy.

"In your dreams, Kyung Mi," the Namgeon boy easily shot back as he puffed his chest up and placed his hands on his hips, standing straight and grinning widely. "Our team has been training like crazy and there's no way we're going to lose after putting in so much work!"

"You're not the only ones who've been practicing like maniacs," Kyung Mi pointed out as she held her right hand up, looking at the hardened calluses that decorated her palm. "Our team has a super solid line-up this year. Probably one of the best line-ups in Girim history."

Not wanting to be out-done, the Namgeon boy countered, "Well, we've got Choi Wonshik as our captain!"

Kyung Mi wrinkled her nose as she tried to put a face to the unfamiliar name. "Oh, you mean the captain that swears all of the time?" she asked after several seconds with a grimace on her face. "A bit unnecessary of him to do so, if you ask me."

"But he's amazing!" Taejin immediately began gushing as his eyes lit up, thinking about one of Wonshik's plays that the captain had executed during the Namgeon Quidditch team's latest practice. "Have you seen him fly? Wonshik is seriously the greatest of all time!"

"Nah, buddy, that's going to be me," the Girim girl said with a toothy grin as she jabbed at thumb towards herself. "And my first step to becoming the greatest of all time is to crush Namgeon next weekend."

"You wanna bet on that?" Taejin challenged, feeling himself fire up at the prospect of proving his Quidditch abilities. He hadn't trained his entire life to become a professional Quidditch player for nothing and he couldn't let the small Girim girl in front of him beat him to the winners' podium. "Loser has to be the winner's personal servant for a month. So get ready to be at my beck and call, because Namgeon isn't going down without a fight!"

"Then I'll be happy to see just how well you guys fight on the field, because Girim won't be holding back at all! Bring it on!" Kyung Mi answered as she and Taejin firmly shook hands to seal the deal.

Relationship Trivia

♚ Kyung Mi and Taejin are friendly Quidditch rivals, despite not being in the same position, in that they both boast about their respective house teams and rave over how their respective house will win the Quidditch Cup every year.

♚ Kyung Mi invites Taejin to play in a couple of practice games that the Girim Quidditch team holds.

♚ Taejin shares some of the Muggle sweets he gets with Kyung Mi and her friends.

— THE WANDERING SOUL.
Choi Raejin / Hong Euijin / Sakura19haruno95

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Raejin isn't your typical Anseung student and she's probably one of the few people I can tolerate from that house. In fact, she's honestly my only Anseung friend. She's really quiet when you first talk to her, but once you get to know her more, Raejin is such a caring person to be around. She's ambitious and driven, but not to the point where she'll hurt others to reach her goals. She represents what good Anseung students should be like, instead of being power-hungry and arrogant like most of them are. And Raejin is a great Seeker as well. I learn a lot from playing against her or watching her games. Even though I can't stand her teammates, Raejin makes playing against the Anseung Quidditch team bearable, especially since I only need to focus on her movements."

Raejin's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi is very kind to me, even though there's a fierce rivalry between our houses. She's actually much kinder to me than most of my own housemates are. A good number of them look down on me for being Muggleborn and they talk behind my back, saying I don't belong in Anseung with them and calling me a Mudblood. I try not to let it bother me, because I don't want to appear weak to my housemates. Luckily, Kyung Mi doesn't judge me like they do, even though she comes from a pureblood family. We get along well, especially since we share some of the same hobbies and likes. She definitely did most of the talking at first, but I'm doing my best to speak more so that our conversations aren't so one-sided. Not that she minds, since she always has so much to say."

Character Interactions

Kyung Mi squealed as she danced around in the school courtyard. It was the first rainy day of the school year and since it was also a weekend, that meant she could play in the rain to her heart's content. Although her clothes and hair were completely drenched, strands plastered against her forehead and her neck, Kyung Mi was in her element. She felt unstoppable right now.

No one else was outside with her, since no other student was crazy enough to leave the dry shelter the castle provided against the pouring rain. So that was why Kyung Mi was so surprised when she almost tripped over another girl laying on the grassy floor. The other girl's dark green robes helped her blend in with the surroundings and if it hadn't been for her red hair contrasting greatly with the green grass, Kyung Mi wouldn't have noticed the student.

"Oh, you're Choi Raejin from Anseung," Kyung Mi said, recognizing the other girl's face after properly looking at her for a couple of seconds. "What are you doing out here right now?"

The Anseung girl silently observed at Kyung Mi's waterlogged state for several seconds before finally replying in a small voice, "I could ask you the same question. It's a bit strange for you to be out here at this time as well."

"Quite the opposite, actually!" Kyung Mi grinned as she spread her arms out and deeply inhaled the fresh scent of raindrops that were pelting down even faster from the dark rain clouds. "I do this whenever it rains. It's like all of my stress and worries are washing away from me, and I'm left feeling so refreshed and invigorated afterwards. It's very healing," the Girim girl explained as she twirled around, soaking in more of the rain water.

Raejin hummed in agreement before silence fell as the two of them focused on enjoying the weather. It was peaceful being outside with no one else and watching the rain fall steadily from the gray sky. They stayed in the courtyard for a few hours until Kyung Mi's stomach rumbled with hunger.

"I guess I'll head in first," she said with a sheepish laugh as she pushed back several strands of stringy, wet hair from her glistening face. "We should do this again!"

"I wouldn't mind," Raejin answered shyly with a soft smile decorating her face.

"Great!" Kyung Mi beamed brightly. "And in case you didn't know, I'm Son Kyung Mi from Girim! It was very nice meeting you, Raejin! I'll see you around!" She waved at the Anseung girl, who nodded in acknowledgement, before turning to walk back to the castle.

— THE TROUBLEMAKER.
Huang Liang / Yan An / Minyoungie-Lee

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Liang is one of my closest friends, after Mark and Ji Min. He's goofy and outgoing, and we do stupid stuff together all of the time! It's hilarous whenever we pull pranks on people and it's totally worth getting detention, just to see the results of our pranks. I already get detention for exploring the castle with my friends, so getting detention for a few harmless pranks is nothing. We click so well that sometimes, I feel like Liang is the female version of me and vice versa. Honestly, I can call him one of my soulmates, because we're just that compatible with each other. It's great! If it weren't for Liang, my time at Maseol definitely wouldn't be as fun and memorable as it is."

Liang's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi is my partner in crime, simply speaking. Pulling pranks alone is fun and all, but you can make some wild stuff happen when you have someone helping you out. She's down to do almost anything and she has great ideas, which makes pulling pranks that much better. After all, two brilliant minds are better than one. It also helps that if we do get caught, we end up in detention together and we have a blast just messing around while thinking up even better pranks. We get along really well and she's one of my few friends from Girim. And Kyung Mi is really pretty. I wouldn't mind dating her, to be honest."

Character Interactions

Kyung Mi was on her way back to the Girim common room after Quidditch practice when she heard a hissing sound coming out of nowhere.

"Psst! Kyung Mi! Over here!"

Turning her head in confusion, she looked around the hallway before her gaze landed on Liang, who was hiding behind a giant stone pillar and waving wildly at the Girim girl. He looked extremely silly with his exaggerated movements while trying to act inconspicuous at the same time and Kyung Mi couldn't help but stifle a giggle at the comical sight.

"C'mere!" he whispered loudly, motioning to the space behind the pillar.

Once Kyung Mi was standing next to her friend, she immediately asked, "What's going on, Liang?"

He quickly pulled her down so that they were crouching on the polished wooden floor. After quickly glancing around to make sure no one was looking at the two Girim students, Liang grinned as he pulled out a rolled up scroll that had been sitting in one of his pockets. "Check this out," he said as he unfurled the scroll. "It's Professor Song's weekly schedule!"

"Whoa..." Kyung Mi breathed out in disbelief, her eyes widening as they scanned the detailed parchment. "How did you get this?!"

"Nicked it from Mr. Ahn's office," Liang answered proudly. "He was busy cleaning up the aftermath of a few Dungbombs I left near the Second Floor Cupola, so I managed to sneak into his office and riffle through some of his file cabinets to find this. Now it'll be so much easier to prank Professor Song, since we'll know where he'll be at every moment of the day!"

The Girim girl high-fived her friend and grinned back as her mind began concocting plausible pranks that the two of them could pull on the Potions professor. "You're a genius, Liang! This is awesome!" she exclaimed, looking back at the parchment and committing every bit of it to memory. "I'll transcribe this onto another scroll when I go back to the common room and you can return the original to Mr. Ahn's office. It'll be too easy to incriminate us if we have it."

Liang nodded and began rolling up the scroll once Kyung Mi finished memorizing Professor Song's schedule. He looked extremely pleased with himself as he tucked the scroll back into his pocket and stood up, straightening his robes. "I'll put it back now and then join you in the common room to plan our next prank."

"Need any help distracting him? I can set loose some Fanged Frisbees near the Astronomy Tower," the Girim girl offered with a devilish smirk as she also stood up and dusted off her robes.

"You're the best, Kyung Mi," Liang replied, giving her a thumbs-up.

"No problem! I'll see you later!" She began racing to the Girim common room to pick up a handful of Fanged Frisbees and set their plan in motion.

— THE MARAUDER.
Lee Jaemin / Yoo Kihyun / Bling-Bling

Kyung Mi's Thoughts — "Jaemin and I have known each other for a long time, since we both come from pureblood families. He's probably the most Girim-like person you'll ever meet. Every single aspect of him just screams Girim, from his daring nature to his innate courage to his steadfast loyalty. We all knew Jaemin was going to be sorted into Girim, even before we came to Maseol. And he's also another Quidditch lover, so we played against each other a lot when we were younger and now we practice together as teammates. I've known him for so many years, so I feel really comfortable around him. We both found other friends to hang out with at school, but that doesn't mean we're not friends anymore. If you mess with Jaemin, that means you're messing with me."

Jaemin's Thoughts — "Kyung Mi is one of my childhood friends and she's awesome! All of my closest friends at school are guys, so it's nice to sometimes get the female perspective whenever I talk to her about stuff. She also knows a lot about the castle's secret passages, which is super useful to me. And we work really well together on the Quidditch field. Years of playing and practicing together when we were younger helped our teamwork a lot after we joined the Girim Quidditch team. I'd hate to play against Kyung Mi, if I'm being honest. She's ruthless and I've been on the receiving end of her crazy flying moves way too many times. I don't envy the other teams' Seekers at all, since they have to deal with her now."

Character Interactions

"Oi, Jaemin, are you going home for Christmas break?" Kyung Mi lazily asked as she turned to the next page of the book she was reading. The two childhood friends were currently hanging out together in the Girim common room after a tiring day of Quidditch practice.

"Probably," he answered flippantly as he doggedly continued working on the Mapallium that he was creating. "My parents are expecting me to come home, especially since my mom misses me. School breaks are the only times I get to see her nowadays, so there's no reason for me to miss out on that."

"Oh." Kyung Mi noticeably deflated as her eyes turned glassy and no longer focused on the page she had been reading.

Jaemin internally chastised himself for his thoughtless words upon remembering that Kyung Mi's parents had vanished during their first year at Maseol. He hadn't meant to remind her of her broken family by boasting about his perfect family life. "By the way, what are the properties of the Wolfsbane Potion again?" he quickly asked as he tucked the incomplete Mapallium into his pocket, trying to change the subject. "Professor Song at explaining stuff. I can't seem to understand any of the harder potions that he lectures about."

The Girim girl knew that Jaemin was trying to skirt around his faux pas and she played along, not wanting to dwell on her missing parents any longer. "Yeah, Professor Song is awful. If it weren't for my photographic memory, I'd be doing way worse in his class." Kyung Mi reached into her book bag that was laying on the floor next to her chair and grabbed her Potions textbook to flip to the page detailing the Wolfsbane Potion. "Here, I wrote some notes in the margins that explain everything in simpler terms."

"Thanks!"

As Jaemin read through her annotations and jotted some notes down onto a fresh piece of parchment for himself, Kyung Mi silently watched for several minutes before finally asking, "You're not thinking of brewing it for Jimin, are you?"

"Do you think I could?" the Girim boy replied, his eyes widening in anticipation as he envisioned Jimin as a harmless wolf after taking the powerful potion. It would be a huge game-changer if Jimin could spend the full moons more peacefully than he usually did in his feral state.

Kyung Mi shook her head, calmly explaining to her friend, "The Wolfsbane Potion is really hard to make correctly. I don't even think I could do it without lots of practice and supervision from a potions expert. And let's be real. Even though you're a whiz at Charms and Transfiguration, you're not the best at Potions. I doubt you could do it, especially without the expensive ingredients that go into making the potion."

"My dad could send me the ingredients or the money to buy them," Jaemin argued, even though he knew Potions wasn't his best subject. But that didn't mean he wouldn't be able to brew the potion. After all, he was the reason Jimin was now a werewolf, so he'd do everything in his power to make it up to his best friend.

"So then you'd tell your dad what happened to Jimin and how he became a werewolf in the first place?" Kyung Mi pointed out sensibly, giving her childhood friend a knowing look.

"No..." The Girim boy gritted his teeth and curled up his hands into fists. It just wasn't fair that Jimin had to suffer the consequences of Jaemin's careless idea and that there were no viable options to cure the werewolf.

Seeing how upset her best friend was becoming, Kyung Mi left the comfy armchair that she was sitting in to stand next to Jaemin and place a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Hey, it's okay that you can't make the potion. It's not the end of the world. You and the others are already doing a great job by keeping him company every month. When we're all older and more skilled, we'll be able to help him out even more." When the Girim boy didn't answer, Kyung Mi prodded him and said in a no-nonsense tone, "We should go to sleep now. We've got early morning Quidditch practice tomorrow and we can't be late to it."

"Okay. Thanks a lot, Kyung Mi!" Jaemin smiled gratefully at his childhood best friend after snapping out of his thoughts that were laced with guilt towards Jimin.

"Any time," she answered with a grin as she waved to the Girim boy while stepping towards the girls' dormitory. "See you in the morning!"

FAMOUS LAST WORDS — Apologies for taking so long! Life's been busy and this is a pretty hefty, in-depth application that required a good amount of analysis and creativity, so it took a lot longer than I anticipated that it would.
