Deleting Dead in Daegu

Hi everyone, this has been an incredibly hard day. I met SHINee in 2010 and instantly found myself drawn to Jonghyun - this short guy with sparkling eyes and a pretty smile. In variety shows, he was goofy and loud and kind of aggressive but when it came to songs, he was a completely different and beautiful person. Then came Blue Night and we finally met Kim Jonghyun. Kim Jonghyun was a soft-spoken man with mental illnesses that he never hid, a man who fought for the LGBT community, a man who was teasingly bitter about relationships, a man who delved into politics, a man who changed the image of idols as talentless people who followed what their company said, a man who touched millions of people. Jonghyun helped us all even though he was hurting, suffering, contemplating the meaning of his own life, getting denied proper help. He suffered so much but barely hid it. Sure, he smiled and laughed, but his lyrics spoke of his pain and his agony. Jonghyun cried out for help through his music. Now he's gone. He's free. He's finally at peace. There will never, ever, be anyone like him.

That being said, I plan on deleting Dead in Daegu. Why? Because I want to be respectful to Jonghyun and writing fanfiction about him doesn’t seem that respectful now that he’s gone. I don’t know, I just wouldn’t feel right if I did. Also, because it deals with death and suicide, I feel like it would hit far too close to home to ever continue. I’m sorry to those who read and enjoyed it, but I believe deleting it is best. I will leave Dates up because it is completed. But from now on, I will no longer write fanfiction about Jonghyun. Rest well, Jonghyun. You did well. You worked hard.
