I have such a big pet peeve about some commenters on here. Aside from the obnoxious "update please!!!!" the comments complaining about a story being too short really bothers me! Listen, if my chapter stops at a certain place, that means it's where I want to stop for the chapter. Sometimes it'll be long, sometimes it'll be short. I am not going to stretch it out farther than I would like, because then I'll just be rambling and my story will get messy. When you complain that it's too short, you are not making me want to write more, you make me want to not write at all! If all you're gonna do is complain about the length, then why should I bother? I appreciate that you want to read more and you're excited for what will happen next, but complaining about length doesn't help. So please, don't tell authors that their chapter is too short and don't tell them to write more.
