Hyunwook is basically the 'fake maknae' of the group. With such glazed over eyes and soft looks, it's hard not to fall for him at first glance. He has pale skin that looks as if it had never seen the sunlight, sometimes glazed over eyes that seems to see far and far away, instead of truly focusing on the present.
His lips are cherry red, not red enough to draw attention but prettier than the normal boy. He also has a slim neck and visible collarbones, something he's proud of. He has a slim build generally, looking so fragile that one push too forceful could break him. Coupled with his long and graceful limbs, Hyunwook looks slightly unearthly.
He also has a mop of brownish-black hair sitting atop of his head, which he never bothers to comb because it looks fine the way it is. Or so he says.
Basically he just looks like Park Jinyoung, except with a more seducing air.
style –
His wardrobe consists mostly of tight shirts or too-large sweaters, tight jeans and long wool jackets/cardigans. He adores trench coats as well, and has a fondness for accessories, including his black choker, a small earring hanging from his right ear, and a watch. He suffers from short sight so he wears a pair of round-framed glasses too - when he's outside and not performing (in which case he wears contact lenses). Also, he is never seen anywhere without his trademark combat boots.
An outfit that he really likes is a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, one shirt tail untucked, black belt holding up tight black pants with a pair of laced-up combat boots (image). He often forgoes a jacket, though if necessary would grudgingly wear a long wool jacket that does nothing against the cold. On colder days, he wears a dark-coloured sweater that is slightly too large, or sometimes white turtlenecks with tight black pants, and again, his combat boots. In the summer, he likes to wear a dress shirt too, though short-sleeved ones and a hoodie which he often loves to draw over his messy and tousled black locks.

Shin Hyunwook is generally a hardworking individual who keeps his eyes on his goals, and never gives up. He is also obedient, always listening to the teachings of his mentor, Sugizo, as well as the promptings of the staff, who urged him to keep an 'angel' and 'playboy' image, so he presents himself as someone who is seducing, though thankfully it's mostly onstage.
However, due to his hardworking and determined personality, it could cause him to overwork himself, and thus cause injuries to himself, which he shrugs off and continues to work hard, until he quite breaks himself. He's also an impatient person, as he doesn't like waiting for things to happen, and instead takes it into his own hands.
He's also sarcastic, and coupled with his blunt nature, it makes people misunderstand him easily, thinking he's some kind of rebellious member of a gang. However, they couldn't be more wrong. Hyunwook, despite his sharp words, is very caring under the surface, and helps people whenever he could, dropping a remark or two, asking about their wellbeing. Being the second oldest member of the band, he takes care of s too, even going as far as to fuss over them like a mother.
Generally though, he's kind to others, and only shows his sarcastic side around those whom he are familiar with, so they wouldn't be too surprised at the other side of him.
Yet, due to his impatience, Hyunwook can be quite irritable, and when he gets angry, it generally isn't a pretty sight. The warning signs are there if you look for them; the silence he presents, and the narrowed eyes. Few can push him beyond this, but if they do, then they better prepare themselves for a bomb, aka Shin Hyunwook.
Lastly, he's confident. He doesn't really doubt his own abilities, because he has faith in his own training and his mentor. This is most evident onstage, in whatever he does. He also generally carries himself with a confident air, so others might be intimidated by him, if he doesn't show his positive traits.

Due to his mother's step-parents being Japanese, he was born in Japan, on a sunny winter afternoon. Being the baby of the family back then, he was immediately loved and greeted by smiles by all those who went to see him.
His childhood was spent without much difficulty, especially since he has such a protective older brother. However, when he entered the teenager phrase, he found himself becoming more interested in anime and Japanese culture. His mother, seeing his son's passion for the Japanese culture, sent him to live with her step-parents in Japan, and there he saw SKIN's shows, and was immediately interested in it.
Somehow, he persuaded his mother to allow him to pursue his studies in Japan. To his dismay, she refused, but allowed him to go after he graduated high school. Hyunwook did, however, spend every summer he could in Japan, of course under his grandparents' watch. He soon discovered his love of Japanese music, and decided to learn the guitar, at first starting with something more 'normal', as his mother had called it.
Then, he started watching the videos of SKIN, and he found himself liking the style of Sugizo's playing, so he switched to an electric guitar, paid by himself using his own money, of course. One day, when Hyunwook was playing music with a band he and his friends at the music studio that he goes to and learns guitar under the owner of it, Sugizo somehow came across the performance, and was immediately entranced by his playing. Afterwards, he went and spoke to Hyunwook personally, asking him whether if he wanted to improve his skills. Hyunwook was suspicious, but at the end he agreed, because why not?
The man revealed himself as Sugizo, and after Hyunwook got over his fanboying, he began training under Sugizo, even after he graduated and obtained citizenship in Japan. Besides skill with the electric guitar, Sugizo also prompted his interest in the violin, and taught him composing and lyric-writing, on top of other things.

Older brother / Shin Hoseok / 26 / Member of Monsta X / Since Hoseok is promoting in Korea and Hyunwook is in Japan, they couldn't immediately meet up and have a talk over coffee/tea or something like that. When they were little, however, Hoseok was one of the family members that wholeheartedly supported his dreams, and even encouraged them, as he himself is pursuing a career in music. Even though they are now separated and not in the same country, they do keep in frequent contact and chat over text or sometimes, phone. Oh, and they like to argue over the stupidest of things.
Mother / Lee Junghwa / 53 / Housewife / Originally, she thought that it was just a one time thing, and so encouraged his dreams as any loving mother would. However, she quickly realised that it is her son's passion and dream. At first, she was hesitant because a career in music isn't stable at all, and she worries about his future. Yet, after realising how much Hyunwook is willing to put into fulfilling his dreams, she allowed him to go ahead with it. She still suppports his dream now.
Father / Shin Jongki / 55 / University professor / Due to his job, he often isn't home, thus the brothers and their father aren't really close. When he heard of Hyunwook's dream, he was enraged, and so opposed immediately. However, under the insistence of his wife and his older son, he went ahead and saw a showcase by Hyunwook. Seeing how determined he was, Jongki felt that he couldn't stop his son, no matter how hard he tried, so he allowed him to pursue his dreams.
Older cousin / Shin Jineul / 25 / trainee / Like Hoseok, Jineul is pursuing a career in music, and like Hoseok, he fully supports Hyunwook's dreams. While he normally is an annoying person who likes to bother Hyunwook whenever he wants, and has the mentality of a three year-old child, when it comes to serious affairs such as Hyunwook wanting to debut in Japan etc, he is always willing to listen and offer advice.
Minami Kana / 75 / housewife / Junghwa's adopted mother. Hyunwook's mother, after her parents had died in a tragic accident, were adopted by her father's best friend and his wife, who were Japanese and loved Junghwa as if she was their own. At first, Kana was shocked that her grandson wanted to pursue a career in music, but after much persuading by her adopted daughter, she finally saw how he thought and thus agreed to it. Every summer, she takes good care of Hyunwook when he went to live with his grandparents.
Minami Takeshi / 80 / retired / Like Kana, he was originally against Hyunwook wanting to become an artist, and wasn't convinced, even after Junghwa's persuading. However, after Hyunwook personally talked to his grandfather, plus him going to see his performance, he was moved, and welcomed Hyunwook into their house with warm smiles and opening arms every summer. He hates the cat, though.
friends –
Miyano Hosoya - he was one of the students at the music studio where they learn music from. Hosoya and Hyunwook are rather close due to their mutual love of the guitar, and tend to spend time after lessons playing and practicing it together. Because they both admire Sugizo, at first Hosoya was jealous about the man choosing Hyunwook over him, but he quickly got over it and even supported Hyunwook. Michael Kim / Kim Hyunseok - the half British friend who taught Hyunwook English, though it was mostly slang. He was close to the boy during their school years, but since he left during middle school to go back to England, they soon grew further apart. [faceclaim: Dean]
Kuroda Hana - another friend at the music studio. However, instead of wanting to promote in Japan, she decided that going to Korea is much better, and thus, with Hyunwook's help, somewhat mastered the Korean language, and auditioned for YG. Persephone - the extremely fluffy Siberian cat that resides in Hyunwook's apartment. At first, when he was still living with his grandparents, they hated her because of the hair that she keeps shedding all over the place. He soon moved away and lived by his own, sharing an apartment with his friend Miyano Hosoya, who fell in love with the cat. She is generally very obedient, except she has a habit of scratching people when they touch her without consent.
Sugizo - his mentor and the one who he admired. He was also the one who 'picked Hyunwook up', and started training him after seeing the passion he displayed during performing. After he took him in, he became extremely strict with the boy, hoping he might be able to succeed himself in SKIN and his career. While Sugizo is normally strict during his training and lessons, he is like a fatherly figure in other times, teaching him about writing lyrics and composing, as well as having debates of sorts with Hyunwook, talking about the issues about the world such as environmental and war issues.

trainee life –
Trainee life was hard, but then when was it ever easy? He started training ever since he developed interest in visual kei, but it wasn't until Sugizo's appearance that he had official training. Sugizo was a strict mentor; he pointed out every flaw in the boy's playing, and being such an impatient person, Hyunwook can often be seen storming out of the room and blowing off steam somewhere else. However, he always goes back to the studio, and apologises properly, so Sugizo knew that his passion for music is genuine. Since Hyunwook has quite some talent in music, the mentor is willing to teach him too.
During his training, there are of course many who laughed at his dreams, and those who rejected him, including Hosoya. While Hyunwook did take it into his own hands to try and solve the conflicts with his friends, he generally ignored those who thinks that the path he's walking on is a waste of time. He got through the years with the help of those he really hold dear to his heart, as well as his own endurance and willpower, so he was grateful for the success that will follow.

When Hana took a break from her promotions in Korea, she went to visit Hyunwook, who was at the time in his usual attire, and without the make-up that visual kei members usually wear. The two were hanging out backstage of where he would be performing that night, and after he posted a selfie of them on social media, his fans were shocked that the two knew each other, but the news spread to E2W's fans, and it soon brew up into a storm and caused a scandal, saying that Hana and Hyunwook were dating. After Hana went back to Korea, she immediately clarified that it was false, and that they were friends only. After Hyunwook himself posted a message on Instagram and him telling his fans that it's false, the storm calmed down a bit, but quite a few of their respective fans still remember such an incident.

Jung Daehyun is generally a charismatic person onstage, never failing to show his best side and his amazing vocals in front of an audience. He is also caring, as he goes out of his way to check on Hyunwook and his own friends, and likes to show affection to his closer friends, which is mostly displayed in the forms of bone-crushing hugs or kisses to the cheek that others, especially Hyunwook cringes at.
He's also sarcastic, and likes to play and tease others a lot, as shown from him playfully hitting s, and dissing them on stage in front of the fans as well. Of course, the members know he doesn't mean it, so they're generally fine with it. This playful side can be seen when the two plays video games together, as they can become overly excited and hit each other. They ultimately make up though, so it's fine.
Due to him also having a sarcastic side, Daehyun and Hyunwook can be seen arguing about the most stupidest of things, and fighting with each other, though it's often in a playful way. However, he also has his own pride, and thus, when the two truly fights or argues, it's definitely not pretty.
background –
Hyunwook first met Daehyun when he was back at Korea, going to visit his brother during training. Hoseok had quite a lot of friends, including Jongup who was at TS. One day, Jongup invited him over to practice dancing, and being bored and having nothing better to do, Hyunwook went along and watched. There, he met Daehyun and Youngjae, both of which left quite an impression on him due to their vocal skills and his needing improvement. He then asks them for advice, but since the singing skills needed for Japanese and Korean songs are quite different, he soon dropped it and went back to being friends.
After BAP's debut, they still kept in touch, yet not as frequent because the newly-debuted idols are quite busy. Youngjae, being wrapped up in a lot of other things soon ceased contact with Hyunwook, but Daehyun didn't, and continued to communicate with him. They became closer throughout the years, even though they don't see a lot of each other. Whenever Hyunwook goes back to Korea, he always visits Daehyun, and the two likes to hang out.

They both knew that their feelings aren't just simply feelings of friends, but both are afraid to confess due to them being afraid of the friendship between them being broken, so they're still friends, yet not quite. Daehyun likes making advances to Hyunwook, which are always received positively, and also likes taking care of him, which Hyunwook likes to say that I do not need your goddamn mothering thank you very much.
Despite that, they're quite close in terms of mentally and physically, with both not ashamed of displaying skinship in public, yet, it's a playful sort of skinship. So everything is really just playful between them, for now, until one of them takes the initiative to do something further. They're friends, yet not quite ;).

About the love interest. Daehyun is really just a back up, and it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to use him. If you're thinking of using Hyunwook, do think about him and Raiden's relationship first, as priority, than taking Daehyun and Hyunwook's relationship as priority because they aren't really confirmed as an official couple. If Raiden x Hyunwook happens instead, just write about Daehyun being one of the influences on Hyunwook's career and his dreams because he had supported them as well, even giving him advice. They will be close friends, and love each other in a platonic sense only.
