Mature vs not?

Hey guys,

In light of my story being featured, I received a report today of a reader reporting my story as it should be marked mature (ion and slave trade). I absolutely agree as it does cover dark themes but I'm unsure as to how to mark this and worry the story will get removed by AFF.

Right now, the chapters with mature content are marked with [M]. My question is if the entire story should be marked as mature? Or if only certain chapters?

Please let me know your thoughts and I'll change it accordingly!

Thanks,

Poko

Edit: I've updated the story to reflect the M rating. Thank you!

If ion and slave trade are topics that is important throughout the story, even though they might not be detailed in every chapter, you should mark the entire story M-rating in my opinion. Say, if your setting is a world wherein ion and slave trade is common and you will repeatedly bring out references to a past as a slave (or something equal), then yes, M-rate the entire thing.
I haven't read your story, but that's my opinion.

If in doubt, however, you can always respond to the report and ask the reporter /why/ they think the entire story should be rated when the chapters are rated and defend why you haven't rated the entire story.
It's unlikely that your story will be removed because of a forgotten M-rating. The worst that probably happens is that a moderator will M-rate your story for you.
