"holy , did you hear about what yasmine did last night?" sophomore kim mihyun whispers over her french vanilla latte to oh seunghee. seunghee furrows her brows lightly. "yasmine who?" mihyun throws her hands up in the air. "yasmine jeon, duh!" seunghee bats her eyes rapidly. "yasmine...jeon? uh...?"
"yasmine jeon jayoung! part of that hallux crew? avid partier? probably ed lee minhyuk, god bless her soul?" mihyun runs a hand through her blonde hair, exasperated at seunghee's blank stare. "come on, how can you not-"
"damn, I wish I ed minhyuk." yasmine states plainly, seating herself at the two sophomores' table. mihyun jumps, and stares at her drink, blushing slightly. "unforunately," yasmine continues, "I didn't, even though I'd like to see that eight pack in its glory. but no, we never ed. we're just friends who may or may not have made out once when we were drunk. do the rumours say that though? interesting." yasmine smiles, putting her chin on her hand as she leaned forward. "why don't you tell me more of these unfounded rumours? what did I do last night?"
mihyun turns even redder under yasmine's steely gaze. "uh, I have class, so I've got to go." she packs her files quickly, grabbing her latte.
yasmine nods, a cheerful smile on her face. "sure!" she raises her arm in an exaggerated wave at the retreating figure. "tell me what I did last night next time, yeah?" she yells.
"god, why are you like this?" kieran whispers, staring at the two leaving sophomores as she pulls out a chair. he hands yasmine a chocolate chip cream frap, which the latter accepts graciously. "you were too busy embarrassing the two poor souls you missed the barista yelling your name four times."
yasmine grins. "what can I say? I'm your favourite embarrassment."
"no yasmine, you're just an embarrassment. let's go, we're late."

"yasmine here decided to burn some innocent sophomores at the café. so." kieran shrugs and yasmine offers a sheepish smile. "oops?"

"can she sing or dance really well?" kieran grimaces at the thought.
"is she bound to hallux crew by a slave contract?" sage laughs. "I would rather die than bound yasmine to us by a contract."
"does she always in the bathroom?" yasmine's smile disappears and is replaced with mock disbelief. "oh, come on! okay, you guys have got to stop calling me that, all these negative connections are driving me crazy." she faces the crowd and slams the table lightly. "the only reason sage calls me jyj is because my full name is jeon yasmine jayoung, and the initials spell out that godforsaken group that keeps getting bundled with scandals. it was cute at first, but now people keep thinking that my name is because something I did corresponds to their scandals. for 's sake, I'm a good girl." seth emits a loud, low toned ha.

"...why was yasmine fake mix?" the same recruit asks, staring at the table.
"oh my god," sighs yasmine as sage plants her face on the table with a loud smack.
the biggest -eating grin appears on seth's face. "since you're so adorably curious, let me tell you a story." yasmine flails, trying to cover seth's mouth, but seth pushes her hands away with ease.
"once upon a time, this psych major and this nursing major had a fundamental class together. as psych major sits with a classmate, nursing major slams open the door and walks in, leaving behind a very intense trail of musky vanilla. she then sits next to me and I can literally feel the dude next to me leaning forwrd to catch a good glimpse of her cleavage because for some reason nursing major is wearing a black crop top with crosses in front of her chest, black jeans and basic addidas superstars. nursing major turns to glare at said male, her blue! blue ing eyes! freaking the out of everyone. oh and her height. her damn 175cm height. said male immediately argues that he's just taking a look at the intricate tattoo on her arm." seth gestures wildly with his arms, nearly hitting seth in the face.
"they were turquoise, seth. and I'm just 174cm, not 175."
seth absentmindedly waves a hand. "and paired with her features, everyone thought that she was a mixed korean. I mean, that high nose bridge, those cheekbones, the bone structure in general made everyone think she was some hot exotic mix- "

"and this liar went with it. for months. until I realised she was full korean, and her xenomaniac just likes putting in contacts and looking foreign. really, take off her contacts and she looks like a complete korean. women and their cosmetics. scary."

famous around ucla for her avid partying and continuous string of hookups, yasmine jeon is usually described with the word "chill". always seen with a small smile on her face no matter what she's doing and taking everything ( sleazy men hitting on her, the whispered insults that sound around the corridor ) in her stride, she's like everyone and yet nobody's friend. she never fails to hold a conversation for a long period of time and her friendly demeanour make those who meet her take a quick liking. the life of a party, she's up for anything and is the first to call for body shots — the first to try anything, because she never stops to think and lives her life in continuous blurs of "did I really do that? hm, maybe I'll get some recollection of it". yasmine never lets the rumours flying around get to her and pretty much everyone gets fooled by her fun-loving, carefree façade. in all honesty, yasmine sometimes stays up at night, letting the comments get to her and thinking about how she's partying her life away and being slightly worried about her future, how she's so addicted to the fun and how after her imminent graduation she'll have to settle down — but she doesn't want to. the next day, she just wakes up, the same grin set on her face as she downs another shot, throwing her worries away.
LIFESTYLE despite popular opinion, yasmine actually takes her studies pretty seriously, so she shows up to most of her classes, only missing class when she's really hungover or if some of her friends need her help. urgently. sometimes she heads to the library after class to borrow necessary books for presentations or extra info; sometimes she stays behnd to ask questions. the rest of her time is dedicated to hallux or lounging at the campus starbucks, sipping on a caramel frappe or a chocolate chip cream, throwing her head back in laughter as she mingles with her friends. the type to be extremely efficient when working, she finishes her academic responsibilities asap and spends the rest of her day having free time, usually freeing her schedule up for parties or clubbing at night.

born and raised in porter ranch, yasmine could commute every day, but she doesn't want to, so she stays in the school dorms. her dorm room is, befitting everyone's expectations, messy as , with pizza boxes strewn everywhere and clothes dumped on the bed. yasmine argues that there's "order within chaos".

her mom was a typical asian mom so growing up yasmine was very sheltered and got stellar grades - it's how she got into nursing ( she's not especially smart, never was. she was just really good at memorsing everything and knowing what the examiner wanted her to write down. whether she maintains the grades are another story ). it's safe to say she hated practically not having a life as she had to see her friends going out as she stayed at home, so ever since freshman year she's been trying to go all out in order to, in her words, "make up for the all the fun I couldn't have in the past." mommy dearest doesn't know of her new lifestyle, which makes it even more thrilling for yasmine.yasmine isn't valedictorian material, but because her family isn't rich, she tries to maintain a 3.5 gpa so she can get a partial scholarship. some semesters she gets it, sometimes she doesn't. which means school loans. sighs.
keeps a bullet journal and multiple to-do lists. wears glasses and plugs in earphones to blare loud music and block everyone out when she works - the type to just finish everything in one go without taking a break so she can have as much as free time as possible. she finds starbucks the best place to work, because she'll want to sleep if she's at her dorm or anyone else's apartment and the school library makes her sleepy as well.
doesn't drink much to be honest. she has high alcohol tolerance but tends to get terrible hangovers the next day, so if she does drink it's usually on the nights where she doesn't have class the next day. drinks too much cheap beer when she's stressed, aka around finals.
pretty confused about her own uality. she feels fleeting attraction towards pretty people on the streets, but all her life she's never actually felt anything romantic for people. she does love people, of course - she loves her friends, but she's never been in love, or at least she doesn't think she has. if you ask her, she'll probably say she thinks she's aromantic but heteroual. aka the only relationship she's trying to find is a stable...friends with benefits.
snapchat is her main communication tool, and she has around 50 streaks, with around 20 being people she actually talks to. most of the time her streak snaps are a selfie with the time filter or the geofilter and she's not really sure how she even has so many streaks - some she probably used to chat with but stopped, some literally just asked her "hi yas can we keep a streak?" and she was too nice to say no. her longest streak is 798 with charlie and she also posts on her story way too much for everyone's comfort.
when sober, yasmine would rather kill you than show you any aegyo. however, when she gets incredibly drunk, her aegyo goes off the ing charts, as she drapes herself over everyone and talk about how much she loooooves them in, quoting kieran, "the scariest baby voice I've ever heard". after half an hour or so of her scaring the wits out of everyone, she'll need to stumble to the bathroom to throw up before blacking out and needing people to take her home. so yeah, she doesn't drink much.
yasmine got her driving license at age 18 after failing the exam quite a few times, but doesn't own a car partly because she doesn't have the money and partly because she knows her driving skills are . seth let her drive once and yasmine gave the whole car a heart attack with her thoughtless changing lanes and high speed. just... don't let her drive.
her dad was a thai boxing trainer and now still boxes in competitions regularly. either way, it was inevitable yasmine would pick up the sport. you can be spot her at the university gym training on her own every saturday morning, but other than saturday, she just goes when she feels like it. she's not really health conscious when it comes to her meals though, sometimes just ordering pizza or chinese takeaway if she's lazy. it's a wonder how she keeps her figure ( 174cm, 59kg; healthy bmi ).
probably not a surprise that her relationship with her mother is pretty strained. the latter has yelled too many hurtful slurs at yasmine for yasmine to be affectionate. when she visits the house, she mostly sticks to her dad and she converses with her mom when they're all in the same room, but an awkward silence falls upon them whenever they're left alone. if her mom tries to start a conversation, she responds as if nothing's wrong but whenever the conversation gets too personal for yasmine's liking she clams up.she doesn't like carrying around lots of stuff, so she usually just slips her wallet, keys and phone in her pockets and holds her files ( her pens clipped onto the file covers ) if she has class. but because manufacturers can't grasp the fact that pockets are very much necessary in womens' jeans, sometimes she can't fit everything in or the keys continuously poke her, so she'll use a small black shoulder bag to fit everything in, throwing in a packet of tissue and lip balm as well.
yasmine can cook decently, contrary to popular belief. she can't make exquisite gourmet spreads, but she doesn't just survive on takeaways and instant noodles. if she feels like she's had too much msg recently and fears for her health, she'll cook up something herself. a huge fan of italian food, she usually makes fettuccine with creamy mushroom sauce or spaghetti with meatballs, and adds really little salt.
joining hallux freshman year, yasmine likes to tell seth and sage that her biggest contribution is putting the words hallux crew on her instagram bio because "4.7k people get to see that and know about us" and calls it a very effective advertising tactic. in reality, yasmine's valiant personality makes it easy for her to connect with clients and because she's not afraid to try anything, she tends to take most of the jobs that others don't want to do.
yasmine met seth during first year, and because yasmine hits it off with anybody easily, she and seth became acquaintances pretty quickly. after spending every fundamental class sitting together, the two became close friends, bickering a lot and enjoying each other's company. the two make up for each other's shortcomings, as seth becomes more talkative and sociable around yasmine and seth keeps a rein on yasmine to stop her from jumping headfirst into, well, anything. many people tend to think they're dating ( yasmine promptly reacts by recoiling with a disgusted look on her face ) due to how close they seem to be.
yasmine didn't really like sage at first with no particular reason, she just felt dislike for the girl, but over time she's grown to dote on sage endlessly and finds everything sage does to be absolutely adorable. if you see someone towering over sage and squishing the latter's cheeks as said person squeals incoherently, that'd probably be sage and yasmine. but they're not really close - they're not awkward, but yasmine finds seth a much closer friend than sage is. it's not hard to understand, since they're in very different majors and don't really have anything in common.
english is pretty much the only language she speaks. having been born in los angeles, she's fluent and her voice is pretty low compared to other females. whenever she speaks to people she's just met they get shocked since they never pegged her to have such a deep voice. yasmine often swears and screams in her low voice and something else noteworthy is her talking speed. she speaks incredibly quickly and all her words come out slurred; some of those who've just met her stare at her with eyes as big as saucers before stuttering "sorry?" and yasmine would roll her eyes and say her sentence with the exact. same. speed. kieran, charlie, seth and sage are all used to her speed and act as translators most of the time.
she's thankful that she has a pretty distinct major that won't leave her puzzled about her future, but she still feels explicit fear when she thinks about it. yes, she has her eyes set on being a pediatric nurse but she knows that her partying will most probably get in the way, but she can't stop. she's addicted to the adrenaline and the attention and she doesn't want to pull away. one thing for sure though, she's definitely going to stay around and help hallux crew. she loves the group atmosphere and still loves its original purpose of helping people, so she doesn't OBJECTIVE

HEY THERE! GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU'RE INTERESTED IN JOINING. yasmine sits, leaning back on her chair and resting her right foot on her left knee. "uh, where's seth?" she questions, raising a hand to brush her hair back. noticing a slightly wounded expression flicker across sage's face, yasmine sits up straight, shaking her head rapidly. "not that I don't like you. I mean, when seth told me to join, I thought it would be him interviewing me... actually, I didn't think there would even be an interview." she lets a huge grin set on her face as sage blinks. "sorry! I didn't mean anything negative. sage, right? seth's told me about you and how much this project means to you, so I'm 100% serious as well, although," she gestures to herself, "I may not look like it." sage smiles, and yasmine breathes a sigh of relief.
SO, WHAT HAVE YOU ALREADY HEARD ABOUT THIS PROJECT? yasmine pauses, leaning forward and placing an elbow on her right knee before placing her chin on her palm. "mmm, seth has told me a lot about it, so I know that the tentative name is hallux crew? and that what we do is basically help people out here and there, do some odd jobs, give back to the community for no profit." she rambles. sage stares at yasmine, the same blank stare on her face. yasmine sighs and repeats what she said at a slightly slower speed. sage still stares. yasmine shuts her eyes and bites her lip. "seth. told. me. a lot. about. it. tentative. name. hallux. crew. help. people. do. odd. jobs. give back. no. profit." sage brightens and writes something down.
HAVE YOU WORKED ON ANYTHING SIMILAR TO THIS BEFORE? yasmine smiles, happy at receiving the question. "I have, actually. I've always done voluntary work throughout middle school, especially with children. I spent my 17th summer at a children's hospital helping out and it's why I decided to study nursing. in fact, I'm aiming to be a pediatric nurse." she can't help but chuckle at sage's expression. "I know, I don't seem like it. but it's true. I love children and they deserve allll the love and are in the world."
HOW OFTEN WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO TAKE A JOB, WITH REGARDS TO YOUR SCHEDULE? yasmine furrows her brows. "as a nursing major I'm pretty sure my schedule would be pretty packed." she sees sage squirm and quickly adds "but, I'm the type to allocate my time really well! I finish my tasks really quickly so I actually think I'll be able to take a job pretty often." she offers a quick grin, hoping sage's decision won't be too affected by her schedule.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF THE HALLUX CREW? "because I want to help people!" yasmine practically yells, straightening her back. after a few awkward moments, she plants her face in her hands. "oh my god, that is so cliché. but it's true. I do geuinely want to help people. it's healing for both sides."
ARE THERE ANY JOBS THAT YOU'LL ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO TAKE? yasmine doesn't even think before she shrugs. "no." after another moment, she adds, "well, illegal - oops, sorry, I was trying so hard to not swear- like trespassing and stuff, I don't mind. don't tell me to abuse animals or kill people though. but yeah, you get the idea."
IF THERE WAS A DISAGREEMENT WITHIN THE GROUP, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? WHAT IF YOU HAD TO PICK A SIDE? yasmine grimaces at the thought. "I hate conflicts." she announces, flicking her hair. "I shy away from them as much as possible. I mean, yeah, I'll go around being sarcastic and having fun, but I absolutely detest arguments. if I get caught in one I'll immediately apologise." yasmine frowns at the question. "if something actually happens within the group, I won't choose a side. I'm probably going to leave the damn room, or try to mediate."

COMMENTS since there's a secondary app for chosen characters (that is, if I get chosen) I decided to just hold my horses on the relationships and just talk about seth, sage, other friends ( eg. kieran and charlie...if they finish their apps )and her numerous partners in the secondary app. also I am sO sorry for the terribly written word vomit I literally cringed as I wrote this piece of crap and I'm p sure I described the character terribly but ??? idk???? my brain is dead I can't think of how to make this app better rip
