jiwool's voice is huskier and deeper than most would expect, so it usually throws people off when they first hear her talking. she also tends to speak really quickly and slurs a lot ( except when she's talking to sooyeon ). the people who see her daily are used to how she talks, but they always have to remind her to repeat what she just said to the poor, confused starbucks barista.

appearance as if making up for lost time, jiwool's hair colour changes constantly. many remember the first time she saw her, her hair a bright shade of red and hanging just above her waist. she argues that she did not want all that attention, but that she had dyed her hair for more than a month prior to school starting and she herself was shocked at how the colour hadn't faded by then. she's also gone through a gray-pink ombré, blue and emerald green before settling on her current blonde. people always ask her what's her next colour gonna be and she's not very sure yet herself.
style jiwool doesn't really have a set style. her closet has types of clothings that fit different types of aesthetics and she wears whatever she wants to that day. sometimes she shows up in a bomber jacket and boots, other days she has on a pleated skirt with knee high socks. the only thing you can conclude about her style is that one look at her and you know she's fashionable. used to choose style over comfort but now has slowly incorporated both into her outfits, as she no longer braves through the cold without a jacket. she'd throw on a hoodie or a trench coat, or do some layering to make sure she stays warm.

college life
jiwool, sunho and sooyeon live in an apartment that requires a fifteen minute bus ride. she doesn't live close, but the commute isn't exactly taxing either. as sooyeon is enrolled in the afternoon class at kindergarten (3-6), jiwool tried her best to make sure her lessons are mostly in the morning so she can at least pick sooyeon up from class, though she's also able to bring sooyeon to school on thursdays as she leaves early. she also made sure to have a day off during weekdays so she gets to spend more time with her daughter.
she usually wakes up around an hour and a half before her classes, taking her time to put on makeup and put together an outfit. she usually skips breakfasts and buys a kimbap from convenience stores to eat for lunch or heads to the canteens with her friends. she can usually be seen on campus with them, chatting away loudly, but you will not see her after 5pm because she leaves right on time to get to the kindergarten. she does her studying at home, so don't expect to see her at the library either. despite her outgoing personality and popularity, she never attends drinking parties and only rarely shows up at gatherings, preferring to spend time at home. most people understand why and still like her while there are some who think she's acting snobby, but jiwool doesn't care what they think, so.

used to have a public instagram with around 5k followers during her school days, but has since deleted that account. now maintains a private account (@jiwoolb_) that only the people she knows has access to, so she has less than 500 followers.
types incredibly quickly so she would most likely win an argument over text. tends to use a lot of abbreviation, slangs and emojis, especially the moon face and clown.
is a basic who only started listening to khiphop after show me the money. also enjoys 2nd gen korean groups like bigbang ( ot4, she stresses ) and f(x). she still keeps up with new music but doesn't put in an effort to actually know the members of a group.
is actually an amazing cook and usually cooks dinner for sunho and sooyeon, sunho washing the dishes after. she likes making korean and italian food and is always open to trying new recipes from other cultures because both sunho and her aren't picky ( and they're trying to make sure sooyeon won't be either ). is the type to print whatever new recipes she's found on the internet and try them that night. also great at baking bread and cakes.
sooyeon has a much more regular sleeping schedule now, so jiwool's skin is lots better than before. so for her daily makeup, she usually only covers up any blemishes with concealer, fills in her brows, uses mascara and puts on 3ce's velvet lip tint in know better. the deep shade makes her look like she has a full face when she really doesn't.
swears a lot and sometimes slips up in front of sooyeon. thankfully the child hasn't learnt any yet but jiwool is slowly trying to make sure she stops swearing at home.
her hair is currently a dark blonde. she's gone through lots of colours ( red, sky blue, dark blue, gray-pink ombré, emerald green ) after sooyeon turns one and doesn't plan on stopping until she graduates from university.
wants to adopt a pomeranian, but will probably wait until sooyeon is older and she gets a job as well.
she does have a license but doesn't have a car nor drive. both sunho and her just use public transport because they can't exactly afford a car right now. is terrible at driving and barely passed her exam, so it's probably for the better.
she usually uses a plain black tote bag that she bougt for a really cheap price at a streetside stall. it usually contains her mac, wallet, keys, tissues, hand sanitiser, eye drops and a small vial of embrocation to combat her headaches.
which high school did you graduate from? I graduated from the hyundai chungun high school, which is pretty prestigious, so you can imagine how people reacted when the news about sooyeon came out.
why did you choose this major? I was originally aiming for a global business major in the uk or the us, but when sooyeon came along plans changed. I wanted to stay in ulsan near her so I always knew when I went back to school I would be aimining for uou. social welfare is something I deem important and I just think that working in the system in the future can benfit my family. also I've also always had an interest in sociology, just never permitted to pursue it until now.
what do you hope to gain out of college life? I want to make up for some lost time? I never got to experience uni life yet after all. and since most of my friends are now working, I want to get some friends who are at the same stage of life with me, minus the parenting of course, but yeah.
what is one word that you would want people to describe you as? kind, I guess? I can be sarcastic at times but I try my best to help people.
what part time jobs are you undertaking now or plan to undertake in the future? being a student is my part time job.
how do you cope with stressful situations? I go to sleep. probably not the best way to deal with the situation but I always feel better afterwards.
what is your take on drinking, clubbing and nightlife activities? never tried because of school and probably never will due to family. fortunately I'm not interested in any of them - I don't drink! lots of people are shocked when they hear that.
do you plan to study abroad as an exchange student for a semester? if so, where? nah. not leaving ulsan without my family.
which places would you like to travel to during school breaks? if it's a brief one I like to just relax! if it's a long one I like traveling overseas. I've been to taiwan, hong kong and england. aiming for thailand next.
what are your short-term and long-term goals after graduating? I'm really not sure yet, I don't even know if I want a job. I just want sunho and sooyeon happy. I'll go with the flow and see what happens, I guess.

the sort of girl you have a crush on momentarily when she walks past you on the streets or sits opposite to you on the subway, jiwool's confident and friendly demeanor attracts attention wherever she goes. there's just something about how her eyes crinkle and her lips morph into a half-smirk before she dives into a story. she flicks her hair and the fruity scent of jo malone's pomegranate noir wafts around the room, leaving a lasting impression on just about everyone.
it's like she commands attention no matter where she is - she opens to make a joke and suddenly everyone is listening to the lively girl, laughing at the puns she's able to think of on the spot. always the life of the party, she doesn't shy away from self-deprecating or embarrassing herself for fun, consistently maintaining conversations even with strangers. she's open about her husband and daughter nad people are often shocked at how she's still holding up so well and balancing so many on her plate. how does she take care of her daughter and aim to get a degree at the same time? people think. she's so awesome for chasing after what she wants! even so, opinions on jiwool are often on two sides of the spectrum: some find her extremely fun to be around while some find her downright overbearing and attention-seeking.
to be fair, jiwool knows why some people see her that way. yes, she does a great job at making things fun but sometimes she does so at the expense of other people. she speaks without thinking and hurts people without even realising it, only thinking oh when she sees a flicker of hurt across their faces. she knows that she's pretty and smart, thinks that she's smarter and prettier than a lot of people, and sometimes that ebbs into the things she says or she ends up looking down on people - she argues that it's confidence but some would say it's arrogance. she acknowledges the ty aspects of her personality, but often comforts herself that since she still has friends around and people seem to enjoy her company, there's no need to change herself.
even so, everyone agrees that it's admirable how jiwool never runs from responsibilities and promises to see things through from start to finish. yes, she needs people to remind her sometimes, but when she gets started on something you can see her online at 5am, slaving away on whatever essay she has to finish by the next day. social welfare majors know that the 'girl who had red hair' would be a perfect groupmate as she would be the type to finish everything on her own. however, sunho would say that she needs to ligthen up and be more flexible as jiwool is 100% the type who tries to finish writing a paper on a thesis that's been deemed too hard to write about by a professor or pull an all-nighter to finish a presentation if her groupmates disappeared.
tl;dr: someone who likes to say if you can't accept me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best but forgets that being human isn't an excuse.
born to international banker ban yongsoo and pediatrician na heeyoung, jiwool was expected to fulfill high standards ever since she was a child. her mother was a typical tiger parent and while her father was affectionate and kind, he worked the american market and thus was at work when jiwool was at home. it was expected jiwool would take either medicine, law or business at university and her mother did everything she could to ensure that jiwool excelled at everything she did. jiwool attended the best schools and was constantly pressured to get perfect grades while handling extra-cirricular activities.
everything was going along heeyoung's plan until she caught 17 year old jiwool holding hands with a male. frantically, jiwool explained that yes, she was dating a boy named lee sunho ( and had been for a year )who was a grade above and also a great student. they met during a business case competition for school and often studied together. she stubbornly told her mom she would keep dating sunho whether she liked it or not, so after contemplation heeyoung said she would let them date provided jiwool's grades didn't drop and that they had to keep studying together.
but when a girl who's been caged for so long gets a little taste of freedom, it's normal for her to crave more - jiwool and sunho would get very hot and heavy when they were studying at jiwool's home ( teenage hormones are scary ). around 1.5 years into their relationship, jiwool missed her period. her mother was devastated but jiwool remained firm she was not going to have an abortion. she finished her public exams and gave birth to her bundle of pride and joy, lee sooyeon, putting off college entrance till her child was older. now that sooyeon's three, she can finally go and have her own life again, but she's so ing scared. she hasn't had a school life in ages, everyone she knows is so far ahead in life and the new friends she has are all so young and vibrant and full of life - where does that leave her?

sunho & jiwool registered for marriage right after they found out she was pregnant, and threw a small ceremony just for friends & family.
currently working as an ibanker, sunho has a decent salary but they still need to ask their parents for help quite frequently.
despite his cold appearance, his personality is quite similar to jiwool's, both loud and friendly. they get along very well most the time and are still as sweet as ever, often peppering each other with kisses and tickle fights. but when they do argue, they really go at it and end up not talking to each other for days. it's a thing that they're both working on. he hasn't enlisted in the military yet, and hopes to put it off till sooyeon is 6. would apply for reserve forces so he can be home more often.

the cutest baby she's ever laid her eyes on, sooyeon is as outgoing as her parents and has no problem
making friends at school. while sunho's parents have been open with the whole unplanned baby situation, jiwool's parents were hesitant - until they laid eyes on sooyeon. jiwool's mom is always happy to babysit her darling granddaughter, sooyeon is an adorable toddler who rarely has tantrums but tends to spend every waking moment bumbling around and talking to everyone who listens.

jiwool's best friends from her high school days, jisoo is now a third year medicine student at snu. jisoo was there for jiwool the whole time even when others drifted away from jiwool.
it's interesting to see their dynamic as jisoo is your typical introvert but the two mesh together anyways. whenever they facetime or meet up during holidays, jiwool often talks excitedly while jisoo nods along (though the distance means even jisoo has lots to share now). silences between them are never awkward and jiwool couldn't be more thankful that jisoo is in her life.
park haeri, 18.
jiwool's closest friend at uou, haeri reminds her of jisoo a lot, probably because both are quiet and maternal. also, a sociology & social welfare major, haeri knows jiwool is busy with her daughter and so is often texting her to remind what to bring to their lectures, what deadlines they have and giving her the notes she's copied when jiwool was dozing off in class. they often hang around at campus for a coffee after class and haeri often goes to jiwool for advice.
