THE MIGHT
infobox
name nam geunyoung 남근영
NICKNAMES
namu literally the korean for tree, the (rather unoriginal) nickname is a reference to both her height and last name. it's amusing to her how people she meets at every new stage of her life bestow the name upon her like they're pioneers (777, for example, was the first person who thought of it after she joined the might and was very proud of himself) when she's been called that by jisoo and the neighbourhood kids since she was four.

usu in korean, her hero name zeus is pronounced je-usu. the first time she introduced herself to yooshik, there was a cycle of 'je-us?' 'no, je-usu.' 'je-us.' 'je-usu.' before he just settled on calling her usu because 'it's cuter anyways'.  he still uses it now with the same smile on his face, and geunyoung wouldn't have it any other way.

jesus geunyoung doesn't know how je-usu turned into jesus (that's a lie, she sees the similarities), but woojin gets a hoot out of it and she rolls her eyes every time but responds anyways.

geun, young-ie and namgeun are also common pet names that friends and acquaintances call her.

BIRTHDATE march 30, 1996
BIRTHPLACE guryong village, seoul, south korea.
HOMETOWN guryong village, seoul, south korea.
ETHNICITY south korean.
NATIONALITY south korean.
GENDER cis female.
ORIENTATION panromantic & panual.
LANGUAGES
it's always easy to undestand geunyoung due to how she enunciates her words and her clear, orotund tone. it's something that she's copied from the news presenters she'd see on television as a kid, and it always pleases her when people comment that she sounds like a presenter - not that she'd ever let it show.
korean her mothertongue. not very up to date on slang - it's what living on a government military base with minimal time on the internet does to you.
english she can speak and listen fluently and can read and write at an intermediate level. she was a stellar student at school and paid plenty of attention in class, so she can communicate fairly well with it, but her knowledge of complex vocabulary is limited to what she learnt in school. also has a noticeable accent since she was taught by teachers with accents, but it doesn't make her incomprehensible.
mandarin & spanish she was also lent to other nations like yooshik, and thus was taught globally common languages. her mandarin is decent, she can understand orders perfectly but has some trouble expressing herself. her spanish is terrible, she doesn't know why they try.

faceclaim 박수영 red velvet
backup 오하영 apink
height & weight 176cm & 75kg
appearance yes she's saved lives, and yes she's been given awards by the goverment, but one of the things geunyoung is proudest about is her ability to cut her own hair. her black wavy hair reaches a little below her collarbone - layers she cuts herself - and she's also the one who does the long choppy bangs that hairstylists clip up when she needs to make a media appearance. the dark circles under her eyes also require lots of professional attention because they only disappear after heaps of concealer, but she's often complimented that her sharply arched brows, deep-set eyes and prominent nose bridge don't need much beautifying. also noticeable is a mole under her right eye that was branded a tear mole by her mother and would apparently bring lots of difficulties in life (her mother was right for once, she surmises).
the only time she's met a korean woman taller than her is when she got to meet the womens' volleyball team , and rest of the time she just towers over everybody she meets. she looks slimmer than she weighs, but it's because she's made up of pure muscle. her body is extremely toned and even when she's not flexing there's an obvious curvature to her limbs and abdomen. however her shoulders aren't as wide as you'd expect them to be because a) she doesn't want to look like a swimmer and skips shoulder workouts and b) she just has naturally narrower shoulders.
style there isn't much to say about geunyoung's style, particularly because she doesn't really have any. when she was younger she'd spend her time studying or working, and so she never really got to develop her own sense of style beyond 'soft, loose clothing she felt comfy in'. despite popular belief her favourite colour isn't black - yes, she prefers muted colours but there's a heavy emphasis on colour. colours like dusty rose, powder blue and slate gray are what she gravitates towards and her closet mainly consist of oversized graphic hoodies of desaturated colours but not black or white. she usually pairs them with sweats and sneakers, but if she's feeling slightly more fashionable or formal that day she throws on a more form-fitting sweater and black jeans (mom jeans or flared, never skinny) and combat boots. in the summer when it's too hot for her beloved hoodies she usually just shows up in oversized tshirts and jorts, and during trainings she goes for bra tops and cycling pants just because they allow maximum movement. her stylist for media appearances play into her tough image and often dresses her in suits - a large black blazer, a white blouse, black dress pants and heels. geunyoung has found she actually likes dressing up, but doesn't know where to start anymore, and so event though she'd like to ask for something more dressy, she hasn't done so despite chiwon's urgings 'geunyoung they are literally paid to dress you. you can tell her,' 'but i don't want to add onto their workload, y'know?'
costume her costume is mainly white with golden elements, which geunyoung supposes is due to her hero name being zeus. as she doesn't have to move much during fights, the designer definitely went a bit ham on fashion over functionality, but geunyoung doesn't mind because she agrees it looks amazing on her. the costume consists of a corset-esque white top with golden ts, white leggings and a ridiculous white cape adorned with golden buckles that geunyoung pretends to dislike. her shoes are white knee-high boots. she also wears a gold mask that only shows her eyes. inspiration, but white & gold instead of black & silver and less grungey.
background
nam geunyoung was born in what many call 'the last shanty town in south korea', and she reckons that sums up her background pretty well. in other words, her family was poor. dirt poor. her father was a construction worker and her mother was a dishwasher at a local restaurant, meaning they barely had enough to pay rent and put food on the table. ever since she could remember her parents would remind her that she was merely an accident and that if they could they'd only keep her brother despite her being a few minutes older.  they were verbally abusive but never laid a hand on her, which is something geunyoung supposes she is thankful for (although both yooshik and chiwon say that's ed up either way). there had always been a considerable amount of pressure on her, both as the unwanted daughter yet the older child - she had to be a good role model to geunsuk, she had to help take care of the house and do the chores, and she had to make sure her brother stayed out of trouble.

to say geunyoung hated it was an understatement. she wanted to leave and the only way out she could find was through studying. due to the locality she was able to attend decent schools in the southern gangnam area and ever since fifth grade she was able to obtain subsidized funding for her school fees. she kept her head down at school, turning a blind eye to any bullying she saw and just spent most of her time in the library. consequently she aced the unviersity entrance exams and was admitted to ehwa womens' university where she majored in electronic & electrical engineering. when she got the admission email she'd finally felt she could see a light at the end of the tunnel: she'd continue to study like a madwoman, graduate with honors and land a job at lg or samsung so she could get out of the hellhole her brother called home.

but one step of the plan happened earleir than she anticipated: as soon as she told her parents she was admitted into university, she was told she was now an adult and would have to provide for herself. geunyoung was surprised - it's not like she was expecting them to be proud or praise her, but her parents had kept her well-fed and given her a roof over her head, so she had never expected to be cut off.  after being given a few more months to get some savings from different odd jobs, geunyoung moved into a gosiwon near campus.

but a difficult degree paired with completely providing for yourself means you get overwhelmed easily. her job as a convenience store clerk meant she was barely scraping enough for rent, food and daily necessities, and she still had hours upon of hours of coursework. she prioritised staying alive, as one does, and that meant more hours at work and less studying. and while her gpa wasn't in shambles, it meant that she was an average student. sure, an average student at ehwa probably still put her in a much better position than a plethora of other students, but not being on top meant she could kiss goodbye to her dreams of working at the top conglomerates in south korea. not to mention during senior year her parents began bombarding her with requests to pay them back for the years they had spent providing for her.

when the might was announced near her graduation, geunyoung was thoroughly, completely tired and just wanted something, anything to help her get out of her situation. her dad was also pestering her to go try because it'd probably make them money, and to her own distaste she agreed. so she signed up, thinking there couldn't possibly any lower she could go.

personality

istj the logistician
huffleclaw lawful neutral phlegmatic choleric  8w9
stepford snarker broken bird just following orders
quick-witted, independent, impartial, adaptive, placid
lackadaisical, cynical, insensitive, trucelent, evasive

geunyoung likes to tell herself that she's changed for the better. that being mellowed out, less ambitious and just doing what she's told to do makes her an elevated version of herself. and the south korean government would agree. after all, geunyoung used to rip out her earbuds to defy orders telling her to only save politicians by trying to get every single person - especially children - she saw out of harm's way.  her ambition to claw up in society translated to an urge to better herself as a superhero, and she would spend hours upon hours on training and furthering her powers, meaning that officials were terrified she would become too hard to control at any moment. geunyoung was valiant, confident, honorable - all the makings of a perfect superhero.

but that's not her anymore. over the years her parents' increasing requests and the government's demanding sanctions have led to any passion and ardor fizzling out completely. now she follows instructions to a t, ignoring the high-pitched cries of children in favor of pulling out balding people of importance from debris. all her past efforts to save everyone have gone unappreciated, so why should she keep trying? she's still smart, and still someone all the newbies reach out to when they need help (yooshik, bless his heart, can't help with strategizing. and chiwon's only advice is 'i don't know, i just do it!") because they know how capable she is. they've never seen her lose her cool even when facing the most harrowing of opponents and people have seen how she successfully instructs both yooshik and chiwon when necessary. her intelligence also manifests in the form of snarky, unwarranted quips that usually leave most speechless. but despite her trucelent way of speaking people still generally consider herself a nice person because of how she's always willing to help (despite her sighing and slouching over when asked) and how her quips are related to the wellbeing of other people - she's definitely the type to berate you for getting sick while fluffing up your pillows and getting you medicine. however, just because she cares doesn't mean her brain-to-mouth filter (or the lack of it thereof) doesn't align with her intentions. most of the time her deadpan quips are humorous, but she never knows when to stop and has problems identifying which things can be joked about and which can't, which means sometimes there's an uproar of laughter after she says chiwon looks like the michelin man due to his muscles, and sometimes people stare at each other awkwardly when she deadpans about his ex-wife. she's smart enough to know she's messed up when the newbies' eyes widen, but not smart enough to keep shut when she wants to be sarcastic.

the most infuriating thing about geunyoung, chiwon jokes, is that he doesn't have nearly the same amount of blackmail matieral he can use to get back at her because she evades most conversations that turn personal. it doesn't matter how nice she's being or how close you think you are with her, anytime you ask about her family, her thoughts, or feelings she changes the topic and defaults to the government's official answer that she's doing great. her impartiality means that she has an iron defense no one has penetrated (except yooshik, but people don't know that). and although her imparitality can't be shown on the field anymore because she's following orders, it still shows in the wAY SHe treats people around her. it doesn't matter if it's yooshik or a complete newbie who's asking for help with anything - she'll be giving her all. if it's something she doesn't want to do, it doesn't matter if chiwon is begging her, she's not going to do it. the fact that she can't save everybody is already constantly gnawing away at her, so she treats everyone equally everywhere else. consequently, the quote 'no man is an island' seems to not apply to her as she's largely seen alone when harnessing her own powers and has never been heard to ask for help. perhaps it's the way she was brought up, or perhaps it's just how she was wired - or maybe it's both - but geunyoung seems to thrive on being solitary.  as much as she enjoys the company of chiwon, yooshik and sometimes even sowol, her favourite company is still her own. she genuinely enjoys going to the movies and eating alone, something chiwon likes to about, but she just shrugs and lets it be. she's grown accustomed to doing everything herself and she reckons that being independent means she can go at her own pace with no one to make her hurry up when she's eating her garlic soy fried chicken. it's also why geunyoung seems to be everybody's friend but no one's - she's nice enough (if you look past her quips) and helpful, but there is always a certain distance many can't seem to cross.

but deep down, geunyoung knows what's truly transpired within her. her previous ambition has her burnt out, doing everything on the field but nothing on base is taking a toll on her, there's cynicism laced through her entire being - because what sort of hero only saves a small portion of people? and her naturally adaptive character means she's molded herself to line up with the circumstances she's been handed.  she misses being herself, but it's okay. because she's doing the right thing.

right?

likes really spicy food, rainy days,  absolut vanilla vodka or kahlua liquer, horror movies, iced drinks during all seasons, bojack horseman, tily scripted reality shows, clothes fresh from the dryer, boba (she finds that embarrassing), fried chicken, kimchi fried rice (which yooshik is great at making).
dislikes hot weather (so summer, basically), neon colours, sweets, romcoms, fizzy drinks, reptiles, tight hairstyles that give her headaches, food that utilises spices like coriander or lemongrass aka thai / vietnamese food.
hobbies apart from incessantly binging netflix and youtube she's recently taken up embroidery. she knows it doesn't suit her at all and is doing her utmost best to hide it, especially from chiwon because she just knows he's going to have a field day with the fact if he knew.
habits
scratches her nose aggressively when she's tired and often leaves a red mark in the process. she's not sure why, but it might be because it helps her stay awake.

repeatedly pops the knuckle of her right thumb when she's thinking and stuck on something.

bites her nails when she's bored, so her nails are always short and chipped. usually gets press-ons for press conferences.

trivia
both her and yooshik have government-regulated instagram accounts to connect with citizens and portray themselves as nice, kindly people. her handle is @zeus.ngy.official. it's mostly pictures of views, government announcements and official appearances.

her first childhood dream was a news presenter, which led to her practicing her diction and enunciation. it's what makes it even more amusing when she dedpans something in the most pleasing tone.

uses a black iphone 14 pro with a mirror case that has 'zeus' written on it in Big bold letters. a polaroid of her and yoosihik is slipped inside the case, to woojin's chagrin.

has myopia but she can still see fine without glasses. does have a round-framed, black pair but she rarely uses it.

is a basic who started listening to hiphop after show me the money (she's binged all seasons of the show because one gets bored cooped up all the time). her playlist mainly consists of 2nd gen bubblegum kpop and hiphop. she would listen to more indie and r&b but she doesn't know where to start. chiwon says she's the walking meme of a gruff person listening to the sappiest love songs.

not used to physical affection or physical touches. is more comfortable with people she's close to but still hesitates to have skin-to-skin contact, so usually just ruffles peoples' head or hold onto their clothes instead of their wrists.

love dogs and thinks cats are evil, even though yooshik thinks she's like a cat. desperately wants a white pomeranian and netizens think it's cute her instagram following consists of nothing but dogs. they also joke you've made it as a pomeranian account if zeus follows you.

holds her spices extremely well and can eat the hot chicken ramen without even breaking a sweat. pretty picky with food and if you hear her say something is "okay", it's probably amazing. wants to pick a fight with the cafeteria chef because "that is inedible." also holds her alcohol better than both yooshik and chiwon. likes stealing chiwon's credit card to pay for what they've had.

types incredibly quickly so she would most likely win an argument over text. tends to use a lot of abbreviation, slangs and emojis, especially the moon face and clown.

LOVES, LOVES, LOVES CHILDREN. SHE TELLS PEOPLE IT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE SO ADORABLY INNOCENT. SHE KNOWS THAT DEEP IN HER HEART IT'S BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO EXPERIENCE THEIR CHILDHOOD BY BEING CLOSE WITH THEM BECAUSE SHE NEVER HAD HERS.

is actually a pretty good cook. just never gets around to doing so. her amazing intuition means she whips up good food even if she's not following the measurements at all.

she takes first impressions of people very seriously, and it's difficult to change her view on your afterards. she'll be like she is with eveyrone else, so you never know.

eats annoyingly slowly, which is partly why she enjoys eating alone. also somehow always ends up with sores in from biting herself, which attributes to her speed.

slouches so much when she's not in a state of tension or nerves that she's constantly experiencing shoulder pains. her left shoudler is also slightly higher than the right one, but it's not noticeable. yet.

doesn't drink coffee, fizzy drinks, energy drinks or tea. the only liquids going into her body are water and boba. her usual order is brown sugar with fresh milk.

you can always see her cooped up in the library on base just poring over... everything. all the military records of villains they've encountered so she can devise ways to put up with them. also hangs out with scientists who help her think of new ways to use her power.

more tba.

soundbites
"okay... so?"

/deep breath with her palms put together/ "i. don't. care."

"chiwon can you buy me boba when you're heading back? i'm too lazy to make it myself."

"that's absolutely hilarious. i'm busting my gut laughing. does your mom know you're this funny?"

"one day i will give my last . today is not that day."

"when are we done with this event? i want to go back to netflix."

"i don't know, ask yooshik. oh, he sent you? great."

alias zeus. an allegory for how all-powerful her power can be as well as her powers related to creation.
INTENTIONS to get by. previously she'd say she enjoyed helping people, but now she's just going through the motions.
GOALS she doesn't have one anymore - that's what she says, at least. she knows she wants to be herself again. but wants rarely get fulfilled when one is a hero.
POWER concept manipulation she can manipulate all parts of anything concrete or abstract, like time or space. consequently, she can pretty much do anything if she sets her mind to. the following are more concrete examples of what she could do as the power itself is incredibly broad and covers a plethora of abilities.
ABILITIES
concept DESTRUCTION an example would be destroying the concept of 'yooshik's weaknesses' and thus literally making him invincible for a certain time period.

concept embodiment choosing to embody the concept of electricity would grant her the power to control the element.

concept empowerment empowering 'durability' would make her less susceptible to attacks.

conceptual attacks if faced with an immortal being, she could actualise the concept of 'death' into their existence and make them easier to injure.

creation the ability to conjure anything out of thin air has its more minor perks. as well yes she could make a whole sword when necessary but she can also make herself boba when she wants one.

WEAKNESSES
Lack of knowledge in theory she's all-powerful, but in reality she can never truly put her power to good use because the utilisation of 'concepts' is incredibly vague and it's difficult to pinpoint what she can actually manipulate when she's being attacked left and right. she usually settles for creating weapons, empowering her own protection, and destroying her colleague's weaknesses. she feels especially at loss when she's facing enemies she's never met before because simply put she doesn't know what the to do.

strength the more compelx the manipulation, the quicker she loses her stamina. she's pretty much ended every fight blacking out. she's been going to the gym in hopes of making herself stronger, but paired with her research into everything that makes her more knowledgeable, she's trying new manipulations every time - and getting more tired every time.

SIDE EFFECTS majorly delibitating migraines. the more she learns and the more she tries to fully utilise her power, the worse they get.

SECRET KEEPER her family, to her chagrin. also seo yooshik, han chiwon, jang sowol, kyung woojin.

seon yooshik / the real ( exes / good friends )
geunyoung is 99% sure yooshik never liked her. or at least, not in the way she was hoping for. they were a part of the program at the same time and were one of the few who made it and thus began training together, and when you're confined in an area with someone all day long you become friends whether you planned to or not. yooshik's caring personality meant that he paid special care to the friend he's seen gone through immense pain, and to geunyoung who's never really had anyone care about her at all that made her cheeks turn pink and her heart skip a beat, as much as she tried to ignore it. it was another late night at the gym when the two were lying down catching their breaths that she turned and said "hey. i like you." she didn't expect anything - just wanted to get it off her chest. but to her surprise yooshik blinked slowly and asked her to be his girlfriend.  she was overjoyed, of course, and they'd stay even later at the gym, just in silence, with her leaning on his shoulder and their fingers laced together. but it wasn't long before geunyoung sensed a familiarity of robotic motions. yooshik was, frankly, the perfect boyfriend, but his smile didn't reach is eyes. and she soon realised that yooshik was only doing what he felt he was suppposed to do - accepting a confession, dating, being a good partner. so she broke it off, claiming that it was probably just the close proximity leading her to think she liked him. and they reverted to being close friends, if not the best friend each other had. and geunyoung is content. she feels a pang in her heart every now ans then, but she knows yooshik isn't ready for a romantic relationship. and she doesn't know if will ever be.
but there is the 1% she's failed to consider - yooshik felt similar before geunyoung confessed, but no one ever explained what those feelings were. he knew what he had to do from consuming media, but when you have no memory of life before it's hard to abandon the framework of doing what 'you're supposed to do'. he just did everything he had learnt online and from his handler, and when geunyoung told him it was the close proximity, he accepted it as the truth. chiwon can feel the ambiguous atmosphere between them, but hey, he's got better things to worry about.
han chiwon / 777 ( friends )
geunyoung argues this is another case of close proximity. chiwon claims otherwise. either way, they two have been friends ever since geunyoung joined the programme, and chiwon's more exuberant personality sometimes clashes with geunyoung's, but he's been able to navigate the line between playful teasing and annoyance, so geunyoung thinks he's fun, not that she'd ever admit it.  due to how overwhelmingly busy chiwon is, they aren't as close as yooshik and geunyoung, but geunyoung considers him as her second closest friend and she reckons that she's of a similar importance to him. chiwon often goes to geunyoung when he's got too much on his plate and needs help strategizing or training new heroes, and geunyoung very much enjoys doing so with him - despite her continuous eyerolls and pained smiles, she meshes well with him and he's always able to create a relaxing atmosphere that takes her mind away from her own worries for a second. she also just finds great fun in playing bad cop and scaring newbies. they hang out sometimes and grab meals together if they're free, but it's not like they exchange dark secrets about themselves at night. chiwon's not yooshik, and geunyoung's not eunji.
jang sowol ( HANDLER ):
they're friendly, but that's about it. they're close enough to make small talk and joke around for  a bit and maybe grab dinner after a day's work, but they don't contact each other once the work day is over. sowol is only a ltitle older than geunyoung and perhaps great minds just think alike, but sowol completely understands why geunyoung acted the way she did in the start and secreltly wishes she could let her do so. it hurts to see the formerly bright girl wither into the obedient husk she is now, and sowol wishes she could help. she's been giving more leeway to geunyoung recently, and the latter has noticed. they haven't mentioned it, and never will because you neer know who's listening, but something has shifted for geunyoung's journey and sowol is a major reason why.
nam geunsuk ( twin brother ):
for a lack of better wording, geunsuk was a little growing up. he wasn't a delinquent per se, but he spent way too much time at a pc bang than at school, and turned a blind eye when his parents were mistreating geunyoung. he knew he was favoured as the son and revered in it, basking in the benefits. but he's grown and matured and looking back he's kicking himself every other day for the way he treated the person who actually raised him. the one who paid for his university tuition, the one who tried to help him focus on his schoolwork, the one who noticed that he liked jjajangmyeon and would sometimes bring some home. he's desperately reaching out to geunyoung, but he's never gotten a response. geunyoung understands he means well, but she just doesn't have the energy to deal with her brother. for now at least.
YEO ( acquaintances at best ):
geunyoung remembers the girl. she remembers helping out with her training, and she remembers hearing that she left the programme. at the time she hadn't given it much thought - she was there to do what she was told, so a deserter didn't concern her. but maybe, just maybe, geunyoung will end up reaching out. that is, if sowol doesn't find out before she does so, and sowol knows everything.

seo jisoo / moon chaeyul / park hyejoon
jisoo was a next door neighbour, and the two have been pretty close since birth. jisoo got into ehwa womens' university and majored in business management and is currently working for a commerce company. geunyoung's happy that jisoo's walking a path similar to what she wanted, and jisoo is worried that geunyoung has been becoming more and more distant over the years. what is she even doing at her job anyways, and why is she so secretive about it? what kind of engineering job requires that much privacy. all questions jisoo won't be getting the answers to. they text regularly and meet up sometimes, but there's a distance between them they can't ignore.

chaeyul and hyejoon are friends from high school. not as close to geunyoung as jisoo, but there's a group chat and it heats up once in a while. geunyoung is thankful for the fragments of her past that resurface.
lover
name kyung woojin

"i hope you never find out how much i need you more than you need me." - nam geunyoung

there was a tourism event geunyoung was dreading. it was another one of those days, a where she woke up in her spacious room doubting just what she was doing with her life. but sowol barged into her room, dragged her to get changed, and she was there anyways.

she detested woojin at first sight. she knew the government ignored woojin and his antics despite him being officially labelled as a vilain, and - he was handsome, yes - the boy persona and the smarmy aura he gave off put such a huge grimace on her face sowol had to elbow her repeatedly.

and she grimaced again when woojin was assigned to stand next to her throughout the event. he said hi, she said hi curtly, and woojin gave the same grimace.

"a fiesty one, aren't you, zeus?" she didn't reply. he shrugged and went back to posing for the flashing cameras.

when they came across each other for the fourth time in just a few weeks, woojin walked over, his signature cheshire grin on his face. "fated, aren't we?"

"No, just corporate slaves."

woojin quirked a brow. "no one controls me, i'm the ice prince."

"well, your highness, you're here aren't you?"

maybe it was because geunyoung knew she had to get over yooshik, and maybe it was because woojin was just so damn handsome and could keep up with her banter, but geunyoung found herself disliking him less with each encounter. when woojin asked for her contact she gave it - to sowol's absolute surprise - and would reply to his texts in the same curt manner.

but there's something about a villain storming into a heroine's quarters demanding a meal together that just tugs at your heartstrings, no? and there was something just different about woojin. he wasn't mature like chiwon, he wasn't the little she remembered geunsuk as, and he definitely wasn't similar to yooshik at all. so a little date wouldn't hurt.

except it did - the genuine stars in his eyes when he laughed, the childish antics that brought a smile to her face, the lingering touches when their fingers brushed against each other. geunyoung felt like the passionate, amtibious person she once was again. woojin just brought out the more emotional, turbulent side to her that had disappeared for years. and before long geunyoung realised she yearned to see woojin, to feel the endorphins coursing through her veins again, to be the person she aspired to be as a child. she needed him.

"once i realised i didn't need to be weighed down, i suddenly had space for what needs to grow." - kyung woojin

it doesn't matter how much infinte wealth you have. there is only a finite number of things to have fun with, and woojin was bored with his life. he wasn't interested in being evil, and playing around has a limit.

geunyoung's perspective as someone techncially on the other side of the spectrum  stirred things up for him. listening to her talk about is endeavors sparked something in him, an interest in something other than lounging around. the world, no, the universe was so much bigger than he realised, and nothing was stopping him. geunyoung was his muse, his inspiration for learning about basic engineering. he wanted to travel the world, then even further. and he wanted her to go with him.

"you are the breath behind my instrument and without you there is no music."

geunyoung doesn't remember how it happened. but she doens't need to - she remembers his arms around her waist, her neck, her head, his lips against hers. they never verbally make it official, but there is an understanding.

they put on surgical masks and light sparklers by the han river. they binge on ty bear and garlic soy fried chicken as they watch the reality shows she likes. they pore over textbooks as she tries to instill in him the foundations of knowledge. sowol sees this, and she tells herself that as long as geunyoung is fulfilling her responsibilities, there's no harm in the relationship.

but to the government's chagrin, geunyoung starts saving bystanders again, and there are reports of something being built at woojin's place.

and they remember that one is a hero, the other a villain.

ending  to be honest, i can see both yooshik and woojin as endgame for geunyoung. with woojin their relationship would be characterised by continuous laughter, the type of story you tell your peers with a smile on your face even after it's ended, while with yooshik he provides the subtle nurturing and stability that she doesn't even know she needs and wants. but i think no matter what woojin would be an integral part of that self-realisation of what she really yearns for in life.

comments i'm sorry for giving up on the stats bar - i just wanted to get this done asap and i'm too old to grapple with coding anymore. it's been ages since i've writed creatively, and this was a joy to create! i hope you enjoyed reading this as much as i enjoyed writing it. also please still use what you've planned for woojin - i just want to show that the two have a more positive effect on each other (even for just a little while). they could end up in flames, i'd love seeing geunyoung with either of the two. she really deserves to be loved. also realised i wrote a lot more than i thought i would, i'm so sorry.
suggestions i thought it would be interesting to have a villain who's extraterrestrial / from a multiverse just so geunyoung realises just how much she's unable to utilise her power when she's facing the unknown. and perhaps woojin can encourage  geunyoung to reach out to her brother? i had other ideas, but it's currently 5am and they've disappeared. will add them when they float back to me.

hello, and thank you so much for applying! before I start, I love that you made her hero name zeus! I don’t know why, but that’s just so cute to me. anyway, let’s get into this! I’ve been dying to read geunyoung’s app fully! even just in her nickname section, the little tidbits about 777, the real, and ice prince fit them so well it’s scary. pffft, one of the things she’s most proud about herself is the ability to cut her bangs. that’s hilarious but understandable because her bangs slap! I love her costume, with the white and gold coloring!

the way I wasn’t expecting the abuse from her parents. them telling her that they would prefer to only have her brother is so vile. not her dad literally telling her to go try and do the might (never mind the risks!) just for some money, after they kicked her out of their home. the nerve.

you know what, we have another character who kinda had the opposite effect that geunyoung had. I love that I’ll be able to parallel them in completely different ways. that will be very fun to write out! going from blatant disobedience to perform her hero duties as she seems fit to basically becoming a government puppet is going to be such a good take compared to other heroes and villains in the story. ‘because she’s doing the right thing. right?’ yikes, geunyoung!

ahh, I love the trivia of her taking first impressions very seriously. I will use that information well!

I was very nervous about her power being…well, too powerful. but I actually think you did a great job balancing this out. the part with geunyoung not knowing ‘what the ’ to do when faced against people she has never even been up against before made me laugh, but that’s very helpful! I also think it’s realistic that with such a large amount of power that she’s ending up blacking out damn near every battle she has to have. also, I did put her technique at 50% on her stats bar, but I have noted and taken into account that this could increase depending on who or what she would be up against.

at first I may have shipped geunyoung and yooshik…but that was until I read woojin’s love interest section! I’m sorry, but I think I may be team woojin. I love that you gave me an option though, so this means we can play around with both options in the story. and geunyoung will also have to deal with each of their other love possibilities as well.

I don’t know if it’s clear, but I LOVED reading geunyoung’s app! it was very neat, well written, and very detailed. I loved all the little tidbits with other characters, and all of her personal details that made her feel like a real person instead of a fictional character. please look forward to her appearance in the upcoming teaser, and thank you so much again for applying! ♡
