So, I found him!

So yeah, I found him.

Having lived in Korea all of three months now and been on a few dates with Korean guys with decidedly unfavourable results (same reasons as English guys my age- attractive but, thirsty and with no substance) I was just ready to give myself a break from meeting nappeun namjas - until he came along.

Tall, tanned skin, dripping with style, handsome and...a little shy but not enough to ask me for a dance. His English accent is so cute, slipping into Korean every now and again when hes shocked or really happy. He's affectionate, adorable AF, kind hearted; and asked me to be his girlfriend 2 weeks ago.

Now, if you've ever dated guys from England or America etc you'll expect a certian type of behaviour - maybe you exchange numbers and then there's this '3 day rule' where you act all cool about it and not text/call - not in Korea, or at least not if they like you. Neither was I ready for the speed and intensity of the relationship, everything in Korea is fast-paced, relationships, aparently are no exception.

Yas Factor 1.  He contacts you constantly.

Good morning, how is your day going? did you eat yet? i miss you...

I don't care if its sappy but when I'm really into someone their on my mind constantly and being reminded I'm not the only one who feels that way is stange but wonderful in my opinion - if you need a certain amount of space though this might be too much.

Yas Factor 2. He knowingly accepts my obsessive love of kpop/ dramas

He teases me about it of course. On our second date I was on my way back from Myeongdong (it was pretty spontanious)where I spent a rediculous amount of money on merch his laughing increased with each treasure he dug out of my bag. That said he knows all of BTS's names now and accepts that I will have my posters on my wall.

Yas Factor 3. All these little things...

Call me strange but its the little things that count most to me, the fact he cleaned my apartement and cooked of me on our first date was something totally alien to me. A few days ago I got sick and he travelled all the way from Ilsan to meet me (1hr and 20 mins away) to get me medicine.

Yas factor 4; I want to teach you Korean...

Of course one of the main reasons for coming to study here was to learn all about the culture and langauge. Whelp, I've got a new tutor! and a cute one at that. He does tease me for my pronunciation, but to be fair, its pretty bad so I can get over that^^

Its still a little weird to process, actually having found a boyfriend in Korea who is as chivilrous and sweet as he is - and im a little bit nervous this is all some kind of dream but I really hope it works out >.<
