Hyunwook is a very complicated person, given his twisted past, but he's slowly but surely opening up again.

He was, at first a very happy and friendly child who got along with everybody else, but when he entered middle school, his parents demanded a lot from him, causing him to be irritable and closed off due to the large amount of time spent alone and the short amount of time he spends sleeping every day. 

At school, he was nicknamed the 'ice prince', due to his dashing looks as well as cold and closed off exterior. He barely talks to anyone unless absolutely needed, and carry out his duties as a prefect faithfully. His only close friend is Daehyun, who thankfully is patient enough to bear with his moods. Daehyun was one of his childhood friends, so he knew the friendly side of Hyunwook and didn't judge him too much. 

He hides his fustration and anger really well (at school, at least), so he seems to be keeping a cool exterior at all times when he's actually seething inside. When Hyunwook is fustrated, annoyed or when he has a bout of depression, he barely speaks to anyone at all, even to his boyfriend and Daehyun, who knew his moods, so he emits a dark aura that makes people steer cleverly out of his way. 

At the cafe, where he's slightly more free, Hyunwook is more rude and somehow snaps easier (but thankfully behind the counter) and got told off by his senior (i.e. the other barista) quite a bit. At first, no one really liked him due to his foul mood, but soon found his sarcastic sense of humour likeable, so they got closer. To customers, he was friendly and polite, even charming the female customers with his looks. 

He also has unpredictable mood swings which either displays him as either annoyed, fustrated, depressed and (the most scary of all) suddenly friendly. 

background. -- Hyunwook was born in Toronto, Canada in a chilly November. Due to his father's job, the family had to move around a lot. His family stayed in Toronto for five more years, where he picked up English and French and made friends at, then flew back to Paju, where they stayed at for a longer period of time. His father became a chaebol at that time, and soon spent less and less time with his family. His mother, who became drunk on the dinner parties, started to neglect the children at the hands of a nanny who had no idea how to take care of children. Luckily, he had his older brother, who took care of him well and took the place of his parents. 

The problems started when he entered middle school. His father's business was decreasing, and the time he spent at home started to become more. Hyunwook, delighted at the frequent appearance of his father, tried to become close with him. However, his father, being the president of one of the largest companies in Korea, demanded nothing but straight A's as well as excellent behavior at school. His mother, who supports his father's decision 100%, started to have him follow a strict schedule which involves him waking up impossibly early and going to bed at nearly three every day. She scolds her younger son and berates him often, and the reason for her actions is to make him become more competitive, when in reality it was psychological abuse. Desperate to impress his parents, Hyunwook started to study really hard and become closed-off due to the large amount of time he spends alone. 

One day, he was dragged to Mirinae by his best friend and maybe only friend Daehyun, who was a frequent visitor of Mirinae's. Tempted by the aroma of tea and coffee, as well as the comfortable environment of the cafe, he decided to take up a part time job as the barista and began treating Mirinae as his own safe haven, away from his parents. 

lifestyle. Hyunwook goes to class every day till 6:30pm every day except for Wednesdays and Fridays, at 6:00pm. Besides Wednesdays and Fridays, he goes to the library to study until 10:00pm before going back home, where he continues (as the library close at 10) until around 2:00am. Then he gives himself a ten minute break and goes to bed, waking up at 5:30am the next morning. 

Sometimes, when it's still dark, he likes going for morning walks or runs to clear his foul mood. 

He has taekwondo class, art class and tutorial (extra classes outside of school to improve your subjects) classes on Saturday, and in Sunday he learns dancing at 1Million Dance Studio and has violin classes. 

His shifts are on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays. Wednesdays, Fridays he works from 6:15pm ~ closing time, Saturday 7:00pm ~ and Sundays 3:30pm ~.

신호석 Shin Hoseok + older brother + 22 + university student, nstructor at 1Million + rebel, caring, hard-working + He took care of Hyunwook when he's little, filling in the place of their parents and showered his little brother with the love he deserved. Once he hit the legal age, Hoseok ran away from left the family and had a job as an instructor at the famous 1Million Dance Studio while juggling university. He cares deeply for Hyunwook, and grudgingly heads back home once in a while to visit his little brother. 



정대현 Jung Daehyun + best friend + 17 + high school student, 'class joker', prefect + fun, goofy, friendly + Another prince charming at school, he became friends with Hyunwook at quite an early age, so he knew the friendly side of his best friend more than anyone else. Despite being a fellow prefect, he likes to joke around a lot, getting told off by Hyunwook quite often. He drags Hyunwook to different places with the other protesting all the way, then found himself enjoying it. He was the one who got Hyunwook into Mirinae. 

신지늘 Shin Jineul + favourite cousin + 20 + university student, major:dance + sassy, punderful (as in, someone who make puns a lot), mother hen + A cousin who acts more like Hyunwook's older sister because they fight over the most stupid of things. She visits him sometimes at Mirinae and berates him for free coffee. Jaebum's classmate so she tries to get the two together but mostly failing. Makes too many puns for her own good, generally doesn't give a about what others say and Hyunwook admires her. She cares a lot for Hyunwook though, and give long talks about everything to her younger cousin which is surprisingly useful.
