Yoonji is a blunt person, and doesn't understand the meaning of the phrase hold back. it just spills out of like a river flowing over a waterfall. she knows that what she says is hurtful and she knows that she shouldn't act that way but changing is easier said than done and she can't seem to stop. she does feel bad for those who she does hurt, at least the people who she likes. this girl is not afraid of confrontation, and honestly speaking likes it more than she probably should. she has no problem starting or finishing a fight. she will not tolerate anyone who says anything to just be mean. constructive criticism is one thing and blanant bahsing is another and Yoonji will the first one to remind anyone of that difference, complete with examples. needless to say she can be disrespectful, as it doesn't how old or important the person may be she doesn't care if they're rude she'll be rude right back. when asked why she acts this way she'll say that if they could simply tell her she has no talent or skills then she has every right to tell them that they're picking on a twenty-one year old because they literally have nothing better to do with their lives. fair is fair right?

Despite her confidence and usual " it" attitude, Yoonji is actually quite obsessive and worries about everything. is that song any good? did that harmony make any sense? was her dancing enough? Did anyone notice her mistake in the chorus? she's constantly thinking about it and fretting, which only makes her more irritable and more likely to snap than usual. now yoonji, though she does try, is about as tactless as they come. she's observant, but cannot for the life of her know how to handle a situation due to her lack of emotional understanding. she also cannot deal with anyone who cries in front of her, although it is amusing to watch the gears turn in her head and then mumble comforting words, even if they come out more like questions, and a few pats on the back before going to find someone who can handle it much better. Yoonji is wary of strangers, and it takes a lot before she'll trust a person, so many think of her as unfriendly, which honestly isn't too far off the mark. she's extremely protective of those who she finds deserves it, but there are only a few people who fit into that category.

Baek yoonji was born in daegu on August 11, 1990 to a middle class family and while she was still a baby her parents had moved them to seoul because of a job opportunity for her father. ever since she was young, yoonji was opinionated, and had no problem letting people hear it, and since she wasn't a shy girl everyone could be a target if she felt the need for it. she would often get scolded in school by her teachers and it was always her mother who was there to apologize while yoonji huffed and refused to do anything, as she felt she was never in the wrong. when she was seven her younger sister seohyun was born, and it was love at first sight for her. she was always trying to get her mother to let her help take care of her and hold her. she didn't even mind as they both got older and yoonji had to stay home to watch her while her parents worked. when she turned thirteen her parents had sat her down and told her that they needed her to clean up her act, stop getting into fights at school, start paying more attention in class, helping around the house more, since as the older sibling it was her responsibility to be the example for her precious little sister seohyun, and yoonji hated it. for a couple of years she did really try not wanting to be any kind of bad influence to her little sister, but it was obvious she was miserable.
When she was fifteen was when she finally couldn't take it anymore. she didn't want to study like they wanted her to, but instead wanted to try rapping and composing, something that had always interested her, going as far to learn how to play the guitar, piano and saxaphone to help with that dream. she'd even gone out and watched performances from some amazing rappers and well she wanted to do that, have that freedom and say what she wanted in such an artistic way. both of her parents, though her father Daejung, particularly had made it very clear that while she was under his roof she would do what he told her, and taking part in that kind of trash music was forbidden. so after a night of screaming back and forth arguing about this yoonji left the house saying that she just wouldn't live under his roof and then he couldn't stop her from doing what she loved. unfortunately she didn't have many friends, and the ones who she did have their parents didn't want her to stay worried about her attitude. so she was stranded for a while until her uncle dongwoon came to pick her up at a park near her home. he didn't say anything just grabbed her bag and brought her to his car, driving her to his apartment. apparently he got a phone call from her mother asking for this favor to look after yoonji, and he couldn't find it in him to tell her no although he wasn't thrilled about having his troublesome niece in his apartment.
yoonji had tried getting into the underground rap scene, but was basically chewed up and spit out, but it didn't stop her from continuing to try. she was told many times that her lyrics were too childish, she didn't have enough of a back bone to handle the criticism. and whenever she fought back it only proved the comments right, as she wouldn't listen to what people were telling her at first, but how could she when no one would take her seriously? she was trying and no one seemed to pay any notice to it. so in 2005 at sixteen she started auditioning for entertainment industries, but that also came up to doors slammed in her face. she didn't have the right look, they wanted someone softer not so rough around the edges, sure she had the skills as a great rapper but no one wanted that, and she never fit the concept that they were looking for. however there was a silver lining of sorts as she tried out for yg and was accepted in. she was so grateful and thought that this was definitely going to be her chance. it wasn't, sure she was training but even there she wasn't being taken seriously.
at seventeen she quit school to focus, desperate to show that she was one hundred percent serious about making a career out of this but was always given reasons as to why she wasn't given a chance. it's not your time yet, you need to focus on making everything good not just rapping, you're not trained in composition so why would we take a chance on these? for two years she was told all of these and brushed past for others, who in her opinion were just as unknown and could use more work. she knows that not everyone gets what they want in just a couple of years, some people train for almost a decade before being given a chance, but yoonji knew that staying here she wouldn't get it at all they'd just keep her going around in circles telling her this and that she was ready to leave in 2006. they convinced her to stay one more year saying that although she wasn't ready to debut maybe there was something she could do as a possible music composer. she had the skill, they knew that she had taken many classes online. they were debuting a boy group and wanted her to compose for them. she accepted although wasn't thrilled that it wasn't for herself, but did it anyway. it went on like that for two more years until in 2008 she left not able to take it anymore, especially since she wasn't getting a lot of regnotion for it. she loved composing truly but she didn't want to just compose for others she wanted to compose for herself, but she was also getting burned out. near the end of 2008 she auditioned for moonlight entertainment, deciding that if it didn't work out this time she would give up.

When she was fifteen was when she finally couldn't take it anymore. she didn't want to study like they wanted her to, but instead wanted to try rapping and composing, something that had always interested her, going as far to learn how to play the guitar, piano and saxaphone to help with that dream. she'd even gone out and watched performances from some amazing rappers and well she wanted to do that, have that freedom and say what she wanted in such an artistic way. both of her parents, though her father Daejung, particularly had made it very clear that while she was under his roof she would do what he told her, and taking part in that kind of trash music was forbidden. so after a night of screaming back and forth arguing about this yoonji left the house saying that she just wouldn't live under his roof and then he couldn't stop her from doing what she loved. unfortunately she didn't have many friends, and the ones who she did have their parents didn't want her to stay worried about her attitude. so she was stranded for a while until her uncle dongwoon came to pick her up at a park near her home. he didn't say anything just grabbed her bag and brought her to his car, driving her to his apartment. apparently he got a phone call from her mother asking for this favor to look after yoonji, and he couldn't find it in him to tell her no although he wasn't thrilled about having his troublesome niece in his apartment.
yoonji had tried getting into the underground rap scene, but was basically chewed up and spit out, but it didn't stop her from continuing to try. she was told many times that her lyrics were too childish, she didn't have enough of a back bone to handle the criticism. and whenever she fought back it only proved the comments right, as she wouldn't listen to what people were telling her at first, but how could she when no one would take her seriously? she was trying and no one seemed to pay any notice to it. so in 2005 at sixteen she started auditioning for entertainment industries, but that also came up to doors slammed in her face. she didn't have the right look, they wanted someone softer not so rough around the edges, sure she had the skills as a great rapper but no one wanted that, and she never fit the concept that they were looking for. however there was a silver lining of sorts as she tried out for yg and was accepted in. she was so grateful and thought that this was definitely going to be her chance. it wasn't, sure she was training but even there she wasn't being taken seriously.
at seventeen she quit school to focus, desperate to show that she was one hundred percent serious about making a career out of this but was always given reasons as to why she wasn't given a chance. it's not your time yet, you need to focus on making everything good not just rapping, you're not trained in composition so why would we take a chance on these? for two years she was told all of these and brushed past for others, who in her opinion were just as unknown and could use more work. she knows that not everyone gets what they want in just a couple of years, some people train for almost a decade before being given a chance, but yoonji knew that staying here she wouldn't get it at all they'd just keep her going around in circles telling her this and that she was ready to leave in 2006. they convinced her to stay one more year saying that although she wasn't ready to debut maybe there was something she could do as a possible music composer. she had the skill, they knew that she had taken many classes online. they were debuting a boy group and wanted her to compose for them. she accepted although wasn't thrilled that it wasn't for herself, but did it anyway. it went on like that for two more years until in 2008 she left not able to take it anymore, especially since she wasn't getting a lot of regnotion for it. she loved composing truly but she didn't want to just compose for others she wanted to compose for herself, but she was also getting burned out. near the end of 2008 she auditioned for moonlight entertainment, deciding that if it didn't work out this time she would give up.

It all started with a harmless text message from her so called best friend asking if she was free to meet up with her and to meet a coworker of hers from her new job. of course yoonji wasn't thrilled about having to deal with a stranger, even if eunha did like him, but she knew better than to say that or she'll be dragged out of the practice room by her ear, and she really didn't want anyone witnessing that, so she agreed. just five minutes into the introductions she could already tell tht she hated this guy. arrogant didn't even begin to cover this guy's personality. he just wouldn't shut up talking about accomplishment this award that, and yoonji was about to shove her precious donout down his throat just to get him to stop talking. the worst part of it all was that he thought he was charming, sure he wasn't bad looking, anyone could see that, and he did have a way with words, he just kept going on and on about himself until she literaly couldn't take it anymore and yelled at him to just shut up already. the outburst didn't phase him in the slightest and he grinned looking at her from across the table, "so you do talk. that's nice to know, i was wondering since you are supposed to be a performer but all you said was your name and nothing more since we got here." Yoonji only scoffed and looked in the other direction, very clearly done with and had said what she needed to. much to her annoyance however her reaction only seemed to amuse him some more and continued talking like nothing happened. for once she was happy when she had gotten a message from minho saying they needed her back and excused herself saying goodbye to eunha and ignoring wonshik when he tried to say goodbye, but was fuming when she heard that annoying laugh, making a mental note to tell eunha that she was never meeting any of her coworkers ever again.
Unfortunately for her it didn't end when she left the table, because soon after she got two messages one from eunha, stating that she gave wonshik her number, and the second be the man of the hour sending her a 'it was nice meeting you we should do it again sometime it'll be fun'. she decided not to answer back to either of them and ignored the majority of his messages, until after almost three months months of messages that consisted of emojis she didn't know exsisted that she actually threw her phone across the room of the dorm apartment and walked out, saying she was going to the gym to work out, not bothering to pick up her phone from the floor. luckily it wasn't broken and she was very relieved after coming back and sat down giving the others a thumbs up that she was now okay, and answered back. 'Stop blowing up my phone. i don't want to talk to you.' 'i think you do otherwise you wouldn't have answered.' Yoonji could feel her eye twitch at the smug smile she could almost see through the message and groaned sprawling on the floor literally giving up, making everyone more worried since this was strange even for yoonji.
it continued like this for a good a few more months, and it was very obvious that yoonji was not playing wonshik's game and wasn't planning on doing anything that involved him. unforunately she had a little demon of a best friend commonly known as eunha, and she should have known better but didn't think anything of it when she was asked to meet her at a cafe to catch up, and it worked out that she had an off day that week so they made a plan, and she was excited. until she walked through the door and saw wonshik reading a magazine and smiled at her when he looked up. she immediately tried to leave but was stopped by him. "eunha said that she was coming, but if i'm being perfectly honest I'm happier that you walked through the door." Yoonji actually gagged and got in line to order her coffee, might as well since he wasn't going to let her leave and well she didn't want to cause a scene, even if she wasn't popular. when she had gotten the glorious beverage and a slice of strawberry pound cake, what minho didn't know wouldn't hurt him, she sat down and remained silent. wonshik watched yoonji as she unconsciously smiled eating her cake, and then was startled when wonshik poked her cheek smacking his hand away on instinct. It all started with a harmless text message from her so called best friend asking if she was free to meet up with her and to meet a coworker of hers from her new job. of course yoonji wasn't thrilled about having to deal with a stranger, even if eunha did like him, but she knew better than to say that or she'll be dragged out of the practice room by her ear, and she really didn't want anyone witnessing that, so she agreed. just five minutes into the introductions she could already tell tht she hated this guy. arrogant didn't even begin to cover this guy's personality. he just wouldn't shut up talking about accomplishment this award that, and yoonji was about to shove her precious donout down his throat just to get him to stop talking. the worst part of it all was that he thought he was charming, sure he wasn't bad looking, anyone could see that, and he did have a way with words, he just kept going on and on about himself until she literaly couldn't take it anymore and yelled at him to just shut up already. the outburst didn't phase him in the slightest and he grinned looking at her from across the table, "so you do talk. that's nice to know, i was wondering since you are supposed to be a performer but all you said was your name and nothing more since we got here."
