BELLEFEUILLE

aurorette

NICKNAMES:

Aurora - A nickname she tries to get everyone else to call her. Aurorette is long and a little weird in her personal opinion, no disrepect to her parents though. The crew will later adopt them, something that will bring her great joy.
Little Dawn - a nickname that her siblings call her as a play on her name's meaning "goddess of dawn", and light teasing since she is the youngest.
Etty - a name that Oliver calls her when they're together.
Aiko - the name that the loyal handmaiden calls her. It took a lot of effort for Aurora to get her one and only friend to stop callilng her princess or other formal titles. They came to an agreement that when it was just the two of them, so her friend wouldn't get in trouble for being "informal" she would call her Fumi. Because Aurora treasures her friend so much it's just the loyal handmaiden who can call her this.
Space Princess - various members of the crew all her this because she has a tendency to space out and just stare at the sea or find a spot on the boat and have her nose in a book.

LANGUAGE SPOKEN:

Inoshi - Fluent - Native Language
Flausfeti - Fluent - Native Language
Common Tongue - Fluent - As a princess it's her duty to be able to communicate with her people, and those of other social standing so she worked dilligently to learn
Anglian - Semi-Fluent - as a part of her lessons, she's been learning Anglian since a very young age.

APPEARANCE:

✩ Aurorette is very much the baby of the family. Shes the shortest of them with her tiny frame of 158cm and weight of 48kg. She has medium length midnight black hair that's always done up in some kind of hair style. All of her features scream delicate, from her small face, to her thin fingers. She has pale skin, mostly from her constantly being forced to stay inside.

FASHION:

✩ True to her role as a princess of the kingdom of Miyuseille, and a couple of nosy older sisters, Aurorette is dressed as a proper princess should. Too many ballgowns to count, her hair always done up in some sort of uncomfortable but immaculet style, and don't even get her started on the shoes she has to wear, she's always the perfect picture of a woman of her stature.

Examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Though if Aurorette had it her way she would take those stuffy clothes get rid of them. She was always so jealous of her brothers for being able to wear pants and move around freely in their clothing. It's a fight she has with the loyal handmaiden daily since it would be "improper" for a princess to wear anything less than the finest gowns.

Aurorette's Daily Life: Maelle day to day life is always the same. Wake up early in the morning, have a few moments of peace while eating breakfast, usually chatting with her friend and handmaiden about something she's read in one of her many books. Then it's off to lessons. Some are great, history, and literacture are her particuluar favorites. Her language courses are also quite interesting and are pretty useful. Etiquette is something she's not particularly fond of, but she much like all of her lessons works hard to excel in them as to please her family and not embarrass them. If there's any spare time before going to bed, Aurora will most likely either be in the library sitting on the floor behind a massive stack of books or out on her balcony soaking in the last rays of sun while reading one of her many favorite stories of adventure and fantasy.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: (+) compassionate, decisive, imaginative openminded, adventurous
                                    (=) absentminded, determined, quiet, soft
(-) bland, delicate, escapist, insecure, repressed
PERSONALITY:

Aurora has always been a compassionate soul. Any time someone had been in need she was there to offer a helping hand. Whether it was one of her four older siblings, or a housemaid with the chores, or simply needing a shoulder to cry on, she's always looking out for someone who could use it. She also is a girl who knows her mind. Aurora doesn't stumble on decisions that must be made and will make them in a way that would be best for everyone. She knows exactly what's expected of her and to do that properly it means she can't waste time on being indecisive. That being said she's also quite imaginative and often comes up with creative solutions to problems that no one would orginially think of. It's not uncommon to find Fleur going over plans and new ways to help her friend finish her chores both effectively but also making them more fun and less of a chore.

She's also quite open minded. She loves to see new things, meet new people and get an idea of what they are before judging them. Everyone has their reasons, so what's it to her to try and judge them before knowing them? Not everything has to be black and white or this or that, sometimes one just needs to take a step back and look from another angle. Aurora has always been one for adventures. She loved traveling to new places, learning new things, exploring the unexplored. Sure it's not exactly proper behavior for a girl of her standing, but she's always been envious of her brothers getting to leave while she had to stay at home, her only adventures the ones she's read in stories. With her head so full of stories Aurora had been known to be an absentminded one. If it wasn't for the fact that she's had the same schedule for years than she probably wouldn't make it to her classes on time. She's often seen staring off into space, her mind completely elsewhere.

Aurora has always been a determined child, once her mind is set on something she will do everything in her power to get it done. Granted a lot of the time its not on things that others would deem important, but to her it sure is. So what if she's already finished this book once? She has a clear goal of finishing it at least two more times. Growing up as the youngest of four children Aurora is a quiet person. She does a lot to not have a lot of attention drawn to herself and sits on the sidelines while her more boistorious siblings take the lead. She would much rather be sitting in the garden with a new book in hand, having the peace to read at her own pace. When spoken to it's a lot of polite questions and small responses. People would often describe Aurora as soft. Both because of her small stature and mild personality and that she's easily to be molded into what she should be as a princess.

Aurora has been described by many as being rather bland. On the outside when she is with people she's the cookie cutter print out of what a princess should be, so it's fair that some call her somewhat boring. She doesn't step outside the lines, in fear of embarrassing or upsetting her family and just continues the same way she always had been. She's also always been delicate. She's been sickly from birth and it just followed her around. If there was a bug going around Aurora would be the first to get it. She's not the strongest person around although she does try her best it tends to end in injury. Aurora is an escapist. If she has a rough day or if something isn't going right, she will do everything she can to escape from it. Books have always been her means of doing so, and as such she puts too much thought into them and these fantasy worlds rather than focusing on the real world that she's living in currently. Any way that she can to make her worries disappear she will, even if it means other things will suffer.

As surprising as it may be to hear, Aurora is very insecure. Constantly being compared to her older and better sisters, it's hard not to start to believe the critics. "Why can't you be more proper like Edelie?" OR "Have you heard about Isabelle's new accomplisment" are just a few of what Aurora thinks about. She tries not to let it get to her but honestly she would be lying if she didn't. Now she'll constantly be fixing her appearance or posture, take even more lessons as a means of compensating for just how inferior she is. Because of this it's almost as if the youngest princess isn't allowed to be her own person, making her repressed. Aurora will put her own dreams and asperations away in a box just to make others around her happy even if it's at the determent of her own being. She's always stressing about if she did something wrong or if it wasn't good enough but she never lets anyone know in fear of them thinking she wouldn't be able to handle it.

BACKGROUND:

Aurorette Bellefuille was born into the royal Bellefuille family in the beautiful coastal country of Miyuseille. However unlike her four older siblings, her birth was a difficult one. She was born prematurely and was very ill. There were worries about whether the tiny baby would even make it through the night, but thankfully she did. Her young life was filled with constant doctor visits, poking and proding, and under the most strict supervison. Unfortunately even after Aurora would recover and be for the most part a healthy young lady she would still be plagued with no space to be her own person.

Even her younger years Aurora suffered from being sick a lot of the time. She caught colds easily and often had to watch on the sidelines as she watched her older brothers and sisters get to go outside and play around. Of course her parents tried their best to make Aurora not feel left out and visted her often, it was just they were concerned about their youngest possibly getting hurt all the time that it was just safer to keep her within a safe distance of one of them. The best parts that she can remember were when her oldest brother Phillipe would come into her room, grin on his face and a book in his hands. They would sit out on the balcony and he would read her fantastical stories of farway lands and mystical creatures. Grand adventures of the most cunning of pirates on the hunt for elsuive treasure long lost of times so long ago. That's where Aurora's fascination and dreams of adventure came from.

As she grew older and her constitution got better, though she still got tired much quicker than anyone else her age, Aurora soon learned that everyone would continue to see her as the poor sickly child. By the age of eight her mother had deemed that she was old enough to start her princess lessons, something she was grateful for. Aurora had always hated that she couldn't follow after her siblings, and had to be mostly separated from everyone in the castle for her own health. It was a new world being able to explore, though much to her dismay there wasn't much exploring. She was constantly followed around with maids asking her of her condition and then being exasperated when they wouldn't listen to her and she had to try and explain that no she didn't need to sit down and that they didn't have to run off and get her anything. A simple sneeze as the seasons changed would have her immediately seated in front of the royal doctor just for him to say the same thing she's been saying all along that she was fine. The constant attention was stifling and, though she was grateful for all the care, Aurora would be lying if she said it wasn't annoying.

As she turned twelve for the most part Aurora had learned to live with this is how her life would be. No one ever wanted to listen to her and although she was given endless amounts of attention it felt like she was in a sea of lonliness and was all alone. She didn't have any friends and the only time she had a moment to truly be herself was when she gives her handmaids the slip and run to her favorite hidden spot in the library. There she isn't Aurorette Bellefueille the youngest princess of Miyuseille but Aurora the girl who dreams of adventure, sailing the high seas, meeting new and interesting people. She doesn't have to think about how her actions might affect her family but can be as free as she wants experiencing the lives of these incredible people she's never met, one page at a time. Aurora wanted nothing more than to be able to have her own adventures and not through books and old tomes.

It was tough even for her to try and get any sympathy from her own family. Her once ally and knight Philipe had to grow up eventually as the oldest of the siblings and next in line for the throne, and Antoine following after him. Edelie and Isabell weren't much help to her either. Edelie lecturing her about her frivilous thoughts of adventure when her duties were here in the castle and it was time for Aurora to grow up with the rest of them and become a proper princess. Isabelle shared the same thoughts but she had a nicer way about saying it and offered their youngest sympathic glances and resassuring pats, that were never resassuring. Those were the darkest times for Aurora as she felt the most alone and unheared. All they saw was the sick young girl who refused to give up her dreams of adventure for the duties of her birth. She of course couldn't go to her parents either since both of them were too busy running a country to listen to their daughter. She started to act out more in rebellion, skip lessons claiming she was "sick", hiding from her maids and refusing to leave the library knowing the ins and outs making it hard to find her.

It was one of these escape acts that Aurora would come to meet her soon to be personal handmaiden and most importantly her best friend. She had just turned the corner into a new corridor breathing heavy from her running from her servant's maids, when she had come upon a distrubing sight. There were many other maids surrounding one by the looks of it. She didn't really hear what they were saying, her eyes focused on the person who was suffering. Despite her breath still coming out heavily, a small wheeze following much to her dismay, she pushes her way through the maids and stands infront of the poor girl. Granted because of her small stature any means of trying to imitate the intimidating glare of her sister Edelie didn't pan out, but she tried. Aurora trying to steady her breathing, stared each of the maids in the eye and informed them that there will be consequences for their careless actions against a fellow human being. Once they were gone she had immediately turned to help the girl any way she could, as unhelpful as they were. She learned a lot about this girl and they soon became fast friends. Aurora had to then plead and beg until the girl would become her personal handmaid, something that would be one of the best things to ever happen to her.

Thanks to the addition to the loyal handmaiden everything became almost managable. She didn't try to escape from her servants as much, and she listened intently to her studies, much to the pleasure of her family, especially Edelie. Aurora on the outside made herself to be the perfect princess, but on the inside she was still struggling. She just couldn't let those hopes and dreams of seeing the outside world, living her life going from one adventure to another. Of course the only one who knew this was the loyal handmaiden who would listen and try to console the girl as much as possible. Aurora tried as hard as she could to be everything that her parents had wanted her to be, and felt that in a way she was betraying them and their expectations as she continued to struggle with her desires. Nothing she did to stop herself from thinking such thoughts bore fruitition. She threw herself into even more studies learning new things in an attempt to distract her thoughts. Though her family would say that this was the time Aurora had learned her place, she could say this was one of the hard times of her life as she felt she was constantly being split into two and didn't know which one was the real Aurorette.

She continued this struggle all the way up to current day at eighteen. She followed the motions of the day, each one passing adding to her continued thoughts of imprisonment, with no means of escape. Aurora would then immediately feel nothing but immense guilt as she thought that. She had a great family, and lived in a magnificent castle with people who waited on her hand and foot, anyone would kill to be in her shoes. She knew that and knew she should be nothing but grateful, but she continued to feel the opposite. But she continued to shove those feelings deep into the back of her mind and would straighten her shoulders and continue to move in the same routine she's been in for years. She had convinced herself that so long as she just continued this routine things would be fine. Unfortunately for her the universe had different intentions.

Aurora's father one evening while the family had met for dinner as they do each night, had cleared his throat gaining the attention of everyone in the room and said he had an announcement. Everynoe had immediately stopped what they were doing and looked at the king as he Gaspard waited before speaking locking eyes with Aurora who was watching her father with a curous but reserved look, that had instanstly changed to worry when their gazes met. He smiled at his youngest and said that she would be engaged to prince Abasi of Tamaza. Her heart had dropped from her check to the pit of her stomach. She didn't react and only stared at her father in shock her eyes impossibly wide while her mother had nodded and smiled. "This is great new Aurorette, you should be pleased" Each word was like someone had stabbed her. How in the world was she suppose to marry a person who she didn't know? From her studies she knew a bit about the country of Tamaza, and though she would be lying if she said she wasn't curious about the civilization this was not the way she wanted to find out about it. She said nothing though and just looked back down at her plate, no longer hungry and barely listening as the family talk had turned to the talk of an engagement party and invitations to other royalty and nobles.

The months leading up the the engagement party Aurora was on complete autopilot. Not even her trusted friend could get her out of her head. That was it, there was nothing else that she could do. Although she tried not to, she couldn't help but to resent this Abasi person just a little. She knows it wasn't his decision and he was stuck in this situation as mcuh as she was, but the feeling was still there. The worst part was that this party would be the first time she could be even meeting her fiance, though her mother had told her that was a small price to pay, and proceeded to inform her of her own engagement to her father and that Hisako hadn't known what kind of person Gaspard was but that it turned out for the best and she recieved five beautiful children out of it. "You'll learn to be happy" was a sentence that replayed in her mind over and over again like a broken record.

The party was for the most part uneventful, like any other party except more people were coming up and offering their congradulations, which was ironic since Aurora had felt the complete opposite. Between having to keep up appearances and socializing, as it was her party, she didn't even really have a chance to sit down and talk to her soon to be husband. She had tried of course, but as it turned out he was a rigid guy who didn't talk much only offering small one word responses or just nods and grunts. After a certian point Aurora had just simply had enough. She was feeling like she was going to be sick and had to excuse herself, immediately understanding her mother had let her leave though not without saying she would be having the doctor come and visit her first thing in the morning.

When she was finally in the safety of her own room, with no one, not even her loyal friend who she had asked previously to leave her be, Aurora had immediately discarded the itchy gown, kicked off the uncomfortable shoes, and let her hair fall down to her mid back could she breathe again. Sitting out on the balcony she leaned her head up to the sky, pulling her robe tightly around her as the breeze picked up and closed her eyes, the sounds of the party echoing across the empty courtyard. She didn't know how long she was out there, nor had she realized she had fallen asleep, something Edelie and Isabelle will chastise her for doing so. Aurora sat up and stretched unknowing that she was no longer alone on the balcony. She tried to let out a scream as a cold hand reached out and coverd another one going around her body to prevent her escape. If only her captor had known that there was no reason as she wasn't strong enough to do so to begin with.

A rough voice spoke behind her. "Its better if you don't struggle" Aurora blinked as she tried to assess what was happening. Then it clicked. She was being kidnapped. A few thoughts passed through her mind before settling on the strongest one. 'This is your chance, if you don't take it now you'll regret it forever.' She turned to look at her captor before motioning for him to remove his hand. He did so though his face had said it all. 'If you scream you're done for.' She shook her head and moved. "Let me at least get my shoes. I'll go with you."

RELATIONSHIPS:

✩ Father - Gaspard Bellefeuille (55) / King of Miyuseille / Strongwilled, Abrasive, Dedicated, Narrowminded / 4/10 (face: michael fassbender)
Aurora isn't super close to her father, it doesn't help that he's always busy running a country and all, but when they do get together the conversation is always the same. "how are your lessons going? Are you listening to your sisters? This could use some improvement." She knows he doesn't mean it to come across as harsh as it is but it doesn't stop her from taking it personally sometimes.

✩ Mother - Hisako Bellefeuille (50) / Queen of Miyuseille / Kind, Quiet, Shy, Reserved / 7/10 (face: Yukie Nakama)
Aurora is defintely closer with her mother Hisako than her father. Hisako has a harder time letting Aurora go and do things like the rest of her siblings becasue all she remembers is her sick baby. She's the leading charge behind keeping Aurora inside and away from "danger" almost to the point that it's suffocating. She deals with it though since she knows her mother only means well.

✩ Older Brother - Phillipe Bellefeuille (28) / Prince of Miyuseille / Vibrant, Playful, Clumsy, Impatient / 10/10 (face: Jun Matsumoto)
Despite age difference Aurora is closest with Phillipe. He was the one who always came to see her when she was sick, and would sit there and play with her when she felt lonely. As they grew up he had to stop but he always shows his love for his youngest sister by bringing her little trinkets when he travels out of Miyuseille, and though he wouldn't say it to his father directly he's definitely opposed to his baby sister being married off. Phillipe is the one who goes into protective older brother mode when Aurora is involved.

✩ Older Sister - Édelie Bellefeuille (26) / Princess of Miyuseille / Regal, Principled, Cold, Strict  / 4/10 (face: Mirei Kiritani)
The complete opposite of their fun and vibrant oldest brother, Édelie is every bit of her namesake. She's the biggest stickler for the rules and how a member of the royal family should behave. Though she loves her oldest sister dearly, Aurora would be lying if she doesn't get a shiver down her spine every time her name is mentioned. A princess should do this, a princess should do that, absolutely not, are some of Edelie's most favored phrases and no one is safe from her calculating gaze.

✩ Older Sister - Isabelle Bellefeuille (22) / Princess of Miyuseille / Obedient, Persuasive, Prim, Reserved / 8/10 (face: Suzu Hirose)
Isabelle is the most diplomatic of the 5 siblings, she always knows just what to say and when to hold her tongue. Aurora spends a lot of time with Isabelle, though its mostly because she's also in a lot of the same lessons as herself. Although Isabelle still has a lot of the same views as their oldest sister, she also tries to understand how the youngest of them feels. She worries about Aurora hurting herself and getting sick much like she did when she was little, so she tries to reason that right now is the best way to spend her life and that being married off to prince isn't such a bad thing.

✩ Older Brother - Antoine Bellefeuille (21) / Prince of Miyuseille / Alert, Clever, Fiery, Blunt  / 8/10 (face: Ryûnosuke Kamiki)
Of all the siblings Antoine is the most outspoken. He has a bit of a temper and has a tendency to get heated. Antoine was there for her when she was younger and would often stick up for her to Edelie when he felt she had taken things too far. Unfortunately as they got older their relationship got a little distanced. Antoine still tries to sit down with Aurora when he has a moment and gives his famous "pep talks" that really aren't super peppy but he tries and that's what matters the most.

✩ Best Friend - Loyal Handmaiden (?) / 10/10
Next to her family, the loyal hadmaiden is the most important person in Aurora's life. Her opinion and happiness means everything to her and she would do anything to make sure that she's happy. She tries her best not to cause too much trouble, knowing at the end of the day it wouldn't be Aurora who got in trouble but her closest friend. She definitely wouldn't had made it this far without her.

✩ Fiance - Abasi Salah (22) / Prince of Tamaza / Stoic, Hardworking, Asocial, Cold / 1/10 (face: Sherif Fayed )
Abasi is a complete engima to Aurora, they had met only once at their engagement party and it was beyond awkward. He's a serious man with little words and to her, he seemed indifferent to the whole affair. She knows she's not supposed to judge people and it's not fair to him that she has her own preconceived notions about the affair, but it's just hard when it doesn't even seem like the man is trying to get to know her. If they're supposed to spend their lives together wouldn't it be best to try and communicate?

✩ Undina Cadralia (24) / The Young Mermaid / Sassy, Bold, Confident, Defiant
Aurora really looks up to Undina since she has a lot of qualities that she wished she had herself. Also she's a real mermaid!! It boggles and amazes Aurora that she can share the same space with a real living mermaid. She has so many questions and would love to learn more about the girl.

✩ Terada Takuya / The Captian / Dramatic, Cunning, Charismatic, Insensitve
Aurora is low-key afraid of the captian of their ship. He just has this pressense that makes her think oh no best not mess with this guy. She does everything in her power not to upset or even mildly annoy the captian.

✩Panthea Dimitriou (18) / The lost Princess / Creative, Passionate, Reserved, Impractical
Aurora feels like Panthea could understand her the most. She wishes she could get to know the princess more. Maybe even make a new friend? Aurora would love if that happened.

✩ Kawamura Kazuma / The First Mate / Honest, Strongwilled, stubborn, judgmental
Kazuma is another person who Aurora tries not to get on his bad side. She has nothing against him and can see just how hardworking he is but she can't help but feel a little nervous whenever his gaze falls upon her.

✩ Anoushka Joshi (24) / The Woman of Science / Inflexible, Uptight, Dedicated, Honest
Aurora really admires how smart this woman she. She likes to ask her questions, but also tries not to be too annoying fearing to make her hate her.

✩ Nickhun Buck Horvejkul / The Sailmaster / Confident, Bossy
Aurora actually likes Nichkun he really seems like a nice guy. Any interation that she's had with him has been a good encounter.

✩ Euphemia Rohan (21) / The Governor's Daughter / Intelligent, Mature, Prideful, Stubborn
Theres something familar about Euphemia to Aurora, maybe its because she reminds her of her oldest sister Eledie both in personality and in aura. That being said the same feeling of intimidation is there but she really would like to get along with the older girl.

✩ Amane Reki/ The Surgeon / Kind, Creative, Timid, Private
Knowing Reki is basically the doctor of the ship she tries to stay away from him at the beginning. She feels back about it since Reki has nothing to do with all the doctor visits and poking and prodding she's had as a baby and child. Eventually she would come to like the man more. He's just there to help, somethnig Aurora can get behind.

✩ Zyanya of the Abantu / The Voodoo Witch / Independant, Easily Bored, Skeptic
Aurora thinks that Zyanya is just so cool, not that the others on the boat aren't, honestly they all are, but the fact that Zyanya had a mission and excuted it flawlessly is something she has only ever dreamed of.

✩ Yoo Kihyun / The Sailmaster / Adaptable, Bright, Sensitve
She doesn't know a lot about Kihyun, but from the little interactions she would feel that he's a nice guy and gets the thumbs up from her. Not that it would matter.

✩ Noh Aejeong / The Captian's Daughter / Charismatic, Energetic, Arrogant, Argumentative
Aurora is awestruck by Noha, she's a true female pirate captian what's not to be amazed by? She's only one year older than herself but she's managed to do so much more than what Aurora feels she's managed to do in her own life. She loves to hear the girl talk about tales and her journeys. Also Kai is adorable and Aurora loves him to pieces even if it's just from far away.

✩ Kim Junkyu / The Crewmam / Insecure, Akward, Expressive, Playful
Aurora actually really likes Junkyu he seems like a fun guy and kind of reminds her of Phillipe. She doesn't spend a lot of time with anyone on the crew really since she's often in the kitchen with Oliver but if there was someone on the crew who she could see herself being friends with it'd be Junkyu.

✩ The Crew/ Various
Aurora would soon come to learn that being on the ship with such a variety of people that they didn't expect her to be the prim and proper princess who said yes to everything. In fact a lot of them time some of them would be there to let her know she could say no. Being on the Nightingale would be a place where Aurora would soon learn how to be herself and not be afraid to show her adventurous side and independence. That she wasn't just Aurorette Bellefeuille then yougest princess of Miyuseille but Aurora the adventurous spirit who loved to travel and just be herself. No one would think that a princess could be friends with a bunch of pirates, but Aurora was definitely ready to be one of the first. She would really come to think of them as her second family, though some were still definitely scarier than others.

THE Engaged Princess

the cursed slave

WHat do you think of pirates? I’m sure you’ve heard a tale or tWo:

✩ Aurora ponders the question, looking a little  dazed her eyes glassing over for the briefest moment before she smiles and looks up. "When I was younger my oldest brother Jean would tell me all kinds of amazing tales of pirates crossing seas and having great grand adventures." She sighs, "If I'm being perfectly honest, despite them not having the best of reputations", a small chuckle, "I'm quite jealous of pirates. Being able to do what you want when you want and not have a care of the consequences of their actions, is something I always wished I could do."

What is your purpose for meeting ouR captain? He is a busy man:

✩ Aurora tilts her head a little to the side, and a hint of a small smile on her lips. "Well my good sir, is it not the captian who kidnapped me? The way I see it he really owes me one, so how about I stay on the boat with everyone as payment?" She grins a bit, "I've always wanted to go on an adventure you know."

It’s a known supErstition that women are bad luck on ships, so what makes you worthy to tag along?:

✩ "Oh really?" Aurora looks over confused. She looks down at her fingernails, as if she was examining them, but was actually lost in thought again. She then jumps up in her seat excitedly. "I've read quite a few stories about how ships of men are led to their doom by sirens who dwelled in the waters, if you keep me along then that problem is solved, which would then mean women are good luck!"

what Lengths are you willing to go on This journey?:

✩ Aurora gives a serious, almost somber look, "If it means I can stay on the ship I'd love to help you in any way that I can." She clears and grins again, "Now what are we waiting for adventure awaits!"

Oliver ansen (the missionary)

the surgeon, the navigator (face: taron egerton)

PERSONALITY:

✩  It's no surprise that Oliver is a kind soul. Even if it came to choose between himself or someone else, he would most likely choose the other person. He's a pacifist at heart and knows that resorting to violence only ends with more bloodshed and both parties end up losing in the end. It doesn't matter if he's the one who gets hurt or loses in the end if it means everyone else invovled is okay. Because of this he's actually quite flexible and will work around everyone's schedule. It doesn't matter if things are going one way and then suddenly change he will adapt and work around it to the best of his ablility. If there was ever a person who could be described as genuine it would be Oliver. The man doesn't have a fake bone or thought in his body. You can believe that everything he says is something that he truly believes in himself. He wouldn't even think of lying to another person, doesn't see how it could be of any more use than just telling the truth. He's a truly peaceful guy who just wants to do the right thing and not get anyone hurt in the process.

✩ Of course that does make Oliver extremely gullible and an easy prey to take things from because honestly all you have to do is ask and you shall recieve. He's often been scolded for being too trusting and questioning enough but it doesn't stop him from doing the same thing over and over again. He's also super precidictable spend an hour with the guy and even a stranger will be able to see exactly what he will do next. Nothing is a surprise and he can be read like a picture book. Many will also desribe Oliver as being submissive. He's not one who will speak up in a fight and will often back off letting the other win if it means that the fighting will stop. His kind and pacifist nature makes it hard for him to really stand up for himself and fight back,. Something many might not know is that he's actually insecure about a lot of things. He'll often question the captian if he's truly okay with letting him stay on the ship, not that he's not grateful he is, but with his lack of fighting skills he questions his role on the ship a lot and wonders if he's truly deserving of being allowed to stay or even be saved back then.

BACKGROUND:

✩ Oliver grew up in a humble background. His family wasn't poor but they also weren't wealthy. He was grateful for everything that he had though. His whole family, himself included were large followers of Catharrow and frequented the cathedral near their home multiple times a week and were one of the many volunteers in their town. As Oliver grew up he became in more invovled in the cathedral eventually choosing to become a missionary to help spread the word of his beloved religion and help out those who were not as blessed as he was.

✩ It was during one of these many trips that he was on to a remote island when everything seemed to have gone terribly wrong. They were attacked almost out of nowhere by pirates and Oliver, along many others who had traveled with him were rounded up evaluated and then watched over as their boat was ransacked for supplies and anything that might be of value to sell off for some coin. It seemed as though the captian was debating something with his first mate when he then turned to their captives and began murdering them one by one. Oliver watched in horror and pleaded and begged that they could work something out and this bloodshed didn't have to happen, they would give the pirates whatever they wanted. His pleas fell on deaf ears however as the captian continued the onslaught until it the bloody sword was pointed at Oliver's throat. He was scared, terrified even but he braced himself for what was coming next, only to be surprised when the sword was lowered. One of the crewman had come over to their captian was was telling him something pointing at the scripture book that laid in front of Oliver, another had taken it out and threw it when they were looking through his bag and the pendant around Oliver's neck with the symbol of his god. The captian came over stepping on his book and grabbed Oliver's face grinning. "Lets see if your god will save you."

✩ The next thing he knew Oliver was being tied to the mast of the ship, so tightly he could feel the rope digging into his skin, though he was grateful that at least he knew he was secure. He didn't know how long he was up there, the sun was harsh on his skin and he was sure he was burnt. However he didn't focus on that but instead continued to pray to Catharrow and kept himself calm. It was getting harder and harder to focus on the surroundings and he knew that because he didn't feel hunger anymore his time was coming to an end, but still he kept believing and praying holding onto his book as tightly as he possibly could.

✩ At some point, he didn't know when, he could barely feel the ropes being cut from his body and he was gingerly being taken down from the mast he had been tied to for what seemed like an eternity. When he had awoke he was in a bed his wounds from where the rope had been digging into him bandaged up and taken care of. He was honestly so thankful that he couldn't stop the tears from coming to his eyes and he gripped his symbol and looked around finding his scripture book holding it tightly and bowed his head thanking his god for the divine intervention. He eventually ventured out to thank who his savior had been and was suprised to see the boat that he was on. One of the crew noticed him wandering and immediately came to him asking first if he was alright and then led him to meet their captain. Oliver was more surprised to learn that his savior was another pirate crew but still thanked the captian graciously appreciating it. When the captian asked him to join his crew Oliver was shocked to say the least he couldn't fight and really didn't know his way around the boat well and said as much but the captian only looked at him asking if he could cook, and when he replied yes. He was asked again to join, with the promise he wouldn't be forced to fight but would be asked to help with some of the chores. Not knowing anything else to say. Oliver only replied with a smile and a yes. He did make on request when they were at port to send a letter to his family. He wanted his parents to know that he was fine, but that he had a debt to pay and would be back when it had been repaid in full. Oliver continued that trend whenever they stopped at a port to send his parents updates on his wellbeing.

LOVE STORY:

✩ It took a while trying to decide where Aurora would be on the boat. The loyal handmaiden had made it very clear that she couldn't handle anything that was too straining, something she had wished the other girl would have kept quiet, but it made sense as she was pretty weak and her very sheltered upbringing didn't do anything that would help in that situation. It wasn't until a guy with the bluest eyes Aurora had ever seen, and a calm serene smile saying he would be honored to have the girl in his care as being in the kitchen still allowed her to work and earn her keep, but wouldn't make her sick from over activity. The man, who she had assumsed was the captian, looked at his crewmate and nodded saying if he felt it would be appropriate he wouldn't be opposed to the decision. Though the man did make it perfectly clear that she was to work, and that he wouldn't let the man get away with doing extra work. The man who spoke up just gave the captian another smile and nodded.

✩ She soon learned this man was named Oliver Ansen and he was a missionary. It was a little odd to Aurora when he told her that since one doens't often find missonaries on a pirate ship. He had laughed at her face and went in to explain how he ended up here and how he decided to stay. She enamoured in his story and by the end of it was even tearing up a little just from the pure emotions she fetl. The image of a girl crying in front of him had Oliver panicking. He hadn't missed the look from the girl who seemed so close to the one in his care, and any means of upsetting this poor girl would be a direct threat on his life. He tried to make her feel better and stop her from crying but just ended up tripping over himself and falling down in his kitchen. He tried to play it off, he didn't, and sat up, offering the girl his hankerchief to wipe her eyes. Aurora blinked and couldn't stop the giggle from coming out thanking him for the hankerchief and dapped her eyes. It was there that Aurora had introduced herself and bowed politely. It was then Oliver's turn to laugh as he told her he was pretty sure if she was a princess he was the one who should be bowing. It was the start of a friendship, and maybe something more that Aurora wasn't sure if she was truly prepared for.

✩ Working in the kitchen was a new experience for Aurora. She was often making mistakes and causing Oliver to pick up the slack as she was very very slow. He never got made however and was always patient with her, something she was both grateful for and felt guilt over. It also gave her a new apprecation for her best friend. She knew her friend worked hard but being privledged as she was Aurora felt so bad that she never thought about just how hard it was. It was one of these times when she couldn't stop herself from breaking down. Again Oliver didn't know what to do. He tried calming her down, it only made her cry more, tried patting her shoulder, a loud sob came out, and he was concerned. Not knowing what else to do he got up and made Aurora a cup of tea in hopes that maybe just maybe that would hep. It did and she thanked him wiping her face on her sleeve apologizing for her poor behavior. That really confused Oliver, crying was a normal reaction when one was sad or upset, and he told her as much, which then it was Aurora's turn to be confused. She had always kept her emotions in check so being told it was okay and there was nothing wrong with it. She explained why she was so sad and felt she was a horrible friend and Oliver did everything he could not to smile. He had grown accustomed to the loyal handmaiden at this point and her glares. He let her know that she definitely didn't feel the way that Aurora was so upset about and that she really should have this talk with her friend rather than worry about the what ifs. Stunned by this simple solution, Aurora jumped up and ran out, indeed to do just that, her chorse long forgotten.

✩ After that Aurora and Oliver had grown much closer together and she was slowly starting to get the hang of working on the ship. Some of the members still terrified her but Oliver just laughed and shook his head saying though they were rough around the edges all of them were good guys and he would swear his life on that statement. He showed such resolve and pride that she made more of a consious effort to get to know everyone a bit better. She's spent a lot of time with Oliver and he was nice as could be so if he was so sure then obviously there had to be some merit on that right? When she had free time she would spend time up on deck, but making sure she was out of the way, and draw. She didn't get to spend a lot of time off the boat, being a kidnapped princess and all, when she had to stay on board, Oliver would bring her little gifts that he found he thought she might like. A small bird statue, he sees the way she glows when Kai is around, some tea for her to drink, and the biggest was a sketchpad. He had heard how she likes to draw and thought it would be a good. time for her since she was stuck.

✩ One day Oliver had grown too curious as Aurora had made a place for herself on the ship quite easily and didn't complain about being a captive here and he felt compelled to ask. He almost regretted his decision as, the girl, who had become happier and more vocal since her time on the Nightingale, showed signs of her old self quiet and so timid. She explained how she was actually grateful that she was kidnapped. She was engaged to be married to a man who she didn't know and was pretty sure didn't want to know her. How all she ever dreamed of was adventure and being free, but due to her responiblities she was forced to push them aside to appease her family. It was shocking to say the least when Aurora had basically admitted she felt more free here as a captive than as a princess of her own country. Her face was truly heartbreaking as she continued to struggle between being Aurorette or Aurora. Oliver, someone who followed his passion and was living the life he wanted, couldn't understand the stress the poor girl was under and hugged her without thinking much about it. If she wanted to stay here he would do anything he could to help her. Everyone deserved to be happy and she was no different.

✩  Since that day their interactions had taken a different turn. They got a lot closer and a bit comfortable with each other. Aurora didn't know how she was feeling, sure she had read as many love stories as she could, but she never experienced it herself. She had to go to the other girls and ask them about it while trying to play off that it was purely for research purposes, everyone could see right through that lie, Aurora was many things, a fibber was not one of them. She would then find herself in a pickle. she did love this man named Oliver Ansen, a man who was so kind and patient, helping in any way, and with the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. But there was still a part of her that felt she owed her family. She was technically engaged to another, but that was a shell of a person who she didn't know, and in love with someone with no social standing and living his life on a pirate ship. She knows what Aurorette would choose, that person would shove her own personal feelings aside and please her family and her country. But Aurora was different. She didn't care about all that, she cared about adventure and these new people she's become close to, and was 10000% in love with Oliver Ansen. Aurorette be damned, Aurora was going to choose love.

STATUS: An awkward start, but they grow close super quickly.
ENDING: I would love a happy ending, they're just so cute! XD

SCENE REQUEST:

✩ The loyal handmaiden having to grab Aurora as she leans too far off the side of the boat in pure excitement seeing the vast ocean.

✩ Any moment where Aurora goes to Undina or Noha excited and practically boucing just to ask them questions about their adventures and overall fangirling that there are so many amazing people, the exact peopel she's always dreamed about meeting.

✩ When there's free time Aurora drawing on the ship with a sketchbook Oliver got her at one of the ports they go to. Also her potentially drawing the crewmates and the other girls

✩ Aurora being 100% on board with the loyal handmaiden finding love. She'd even try to help get them together.
