Horangnabi or also the Tiger lady:
Nabi's name means "Butterfly" but her personality isn't as fragile as one might think. She roars, she bites, if she's cornered, you can expect this lady to know how to defend herself. She had to learn the hard way but now she's there to protect those precious to her like a wild tiger mother.

height & weight 169cm & 54kg
appearance

— One little glimpse into Nabi's closet says it all: Among plenty of feminine dresses, you'll find a few leggins and tops that she uses to dance. There's no extra looking fashion item to be found in there since Nabi knows she needs nothing more than a little, black one or a thight red dress to look stunning. She pretty much lets her way of dressing depend on the occassion and makes sure to have something in store for anything. Boyish clothes aren't much of her style, though. Neither are overly cute ones. Mature, y outfits or plainly practical clothes are what she prefers.
Overall, Nabi isn't one of those super thin persons. She holds a healthy weight of 54kg and wouldn't change it if not necessary, because she loves eating. Something she came to appreciate after dropping out of trainee hell.

personality traits diplomatic, observant, no-nonsense, impartial, dedicated, protective, dominant, consistent,  a shoulder to cry on, reliable, sympathetic

personality

"Every saint has a past. And every sinner a future."

Marked by the experiences she made in life, Nabi pretty early learned that dreams are what keeps people going but also that dreams are made out of sand and that they just rarely come true. She has a very realistic point of view on the world and her surroundings and tries hard to keep being objective no matter what. While the passion has left her during her life, dedication is what she decided is the right way for her. So, she dedicated herself to the only love she ever had. Dancing. Hence the reason she's taking her job very seriously, wishing to introduce others to the passion that she once felt but unfortunatelly lost. At first, Nabi's dominant appearance tends to intimidate others and her being so strict doesn't help her making friends often when in fact the source of her being that way lies in the consistency she's following. Nabi has a set image of how things have to go in her mind and she'll try to follow this image as good as possible. Of course the image changes as life does so often, too. But after everything that happened in Nabi's life, she considers her experience as justification to take her own ways in doing as the right ones and if she's supposed to change her opinion, she'll thoroughly look into the issue and will only do, if she can agree with what she gets enforced with.

"Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing."

Whereas Nabi might come off as a very distant and cold person, she's warm and sympathetic if you only try getting closer to her. As a professional, she keeps her face, her calm and stays as impartial as possible, but the person behind this is of protective nature. She's reliable and can function as a shoulder to cry on, motherly caring for others as if they were her own children. And despite often feeling like a 60-year-old granny due to this, she'll gladly care for those who need to be cared of, yet she also knows when to step aside when people push her away and rather stay alone. The high understanding and respect for others' feelings is a result of years of fighting with her very own sister who Nabi dearly loved but who never was able to give the same affection back to her, being too proud to accept any help. Nabi will feel all the more attracted to people who resemble her sister but also she'll have her problems approaching them as those people will trigger her emotions and remind her of what happened to her sister which Nabi rather avoids. By the way... never touch those who are precious to Nabi. She might be a very calm person but attack those she loves and she will fight you to death. Just like a tiger mom. She. Will. Fite. You.
Nabi values genuine friendship and feels vindicated when people entrust themselves to her. She hates superficiality and is very likely to call those out who reduce others to those. Regarding idol life, she sees the fine line between the right amount of following idol standards and the border to the unhealthy, life threatening area. As a former trainee, she's been through it all, as a current choreographer and instructor, she now watches from a complete different angle. Re-Play is starving themselves for the sake of a little success? She's the first to run out and buy some fruit, so they at least get a little nutrition. What's the worth of looking extremely slim when the result is the artists not even managing to perform without collapsing afterwards? People are not supposed to perform on stage, pulling exhausting dance choreographies when they're not in the right condition to do so. Let them have some sleep and feed them properly!

"The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple."

If there's something that Nabi hates, it's unnecessary fights about nonsense. As a rather matured person, she rarely biasedly takes sides and keeps being a silent witness of things happening around her, judging once she figured both sides of an argument. There never is black and white, grey is the color she tries to understand and therefore she's a person to remain calm when everyone  else ends up in a heated discussion, things being thrown through the air, people either yelling or crying. Nabi is diplomatic and not seldomly will function as an arbiter and she'll keep her calm unless one party is intransigent and starts getting personal against her. Then she'll raise her voice, tell the person to sit the down and finally shut up so the adults can proceed in figuring things out. Yes, Nabi at times feels like a kindergardener that is surrounded by raging toddlers or helpless infants that don't know how to help themselves. But oh you people, don't you fear. Nabi is here to listen to your problems. She won't advise them what to do, but she gladly helps figuring problems out. Some people just don't even know where the real problem lies and analytic Nabi has a talent to find exactly those hidden bones, burried under unsolved emotions such as anger, fear or sadness. Life ain't easy. Nabi understands. And usually she penalises people who talk carelessly about serious problems with a frown.

background

"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that's all."

Nabi grew up as the younger of two children to a very common couple in Ulsan. Her father used to work in a logistics company while her mother helped out at one of the local libraries. She never was one to have any certain talent, or at least no further interest in things. She neither could befriend the subjects at school, neither did she find the books her mother brought back home interesting. So everything she focused on during her early childhood was her older sister. It took her and her parents a while to find what was able to ignite the fire of passion in her when Nabi's sister Naeun decided to audition for an entertainment and therefore was sent to Seoul. Nabi immediately grew interested in what her older sister was doing and started her own interest in dancing. At the age of 11, she auditioned for the same company that took Naeun as a trainee a few years ago and they agreed on having Nabi as well. Years passed and Nabi figured that of all the things she learned as a trainee, she loved dancing most and that being an idol was not ultimately the thing she wanted to do. It was basically the result of her finally growing further apart from her dependency on her sister that had constantly tried to push the younger one away. It was hard, but that way Nabi learned to be and think indipendently. She started dreaming of traveling the world and visit foreign studios where she could learn and improve while her sister debuted in the meantime and struggled during the first years of being an idol due to being signed under an unknown company. Naeun suffered a lot under the circumstances, constantly mentioning that she wanted to be more than a nugu that nobody cared about, that she wanted to be known and that she'd do everything for it. Nabi kept telling her that once the time would come, she'd get her share of fame, she just had to be patient and work hard. The older one didn't take fondly of that and the siblings ended in endless arguments about the issue which tired Nabi out to the extent that she was sick of speaking to her sister. When Nabi turned 15, her sister's group suddenly raised in fame as someone recorded a fancam of her and it went viral. Naeun's group suddenly became a nationwide hit. But the hype only lasted about a year. And then Nabi received a phone call that changed everything.

"What seems to us as bitter trials, are often blessings in disguise."

When Naeun called, she sounded devastated. Devastated and in panic. Nabi these days can't even remember all of the phone call since her sister called in the middle of the night after a stressful day full of training. But what Nabi remembers is that her sister was crying when she told her about a serious mistake she had made, that a "lady in black" would come for her and demand the price that had to be paid for the fame she received. Nabi had no clue what her sister was talking about. Her sister went on, telling her the details of what happened, the younger sibling being more than just simply being swamped by a mass of information that didn't even sound real. Naeun didn't calm down. Nabi told her to try. They hung up. The next morning Naeun went missing. Nobody knew what happened to the idol and Nabi contacted her parents, telling them what the older one had told her the night before. Their parents dismissed it as Naeun suffering some serious mental issues because of the idol stress and that she must have grown paranoid over the years. The fact that Naeun was called mentally ill left a mark on Nabi as she just couldn't believe that her sister was imagining things, she had sounded way too scared on the phone. Nabi never managed to forget about the phone call even though some segments are missing due to the late hours during which Naeun had called. With the loss of her sister, Nabi also lost her motivation and passion as Naeun always was the person to keep her going, despite it more being some kind of adoration of a younger sibling and maybe even a bit of competitive thinking that drove Nabi to go as far. Nabi ultimately dropped out of the idol industry, the stigma of her missing sister haunting her still. The industry managed to hide the incident but Nabi knew the truth. Unfortunately nobody seemed to care. So to her it was the best to focus on other things and so she ended up going to school like everyone else again while attending a dancing Hakwon in the evenings. After graduating, Nabi decided to work at a local dance studio instead of applying for university and she gained her own little fanbase and fame thanks to her talent in choreographing. She never really made it as a solo dancer, though. Because of the lack of passion and motivation. To her it was enough to teach others how to dance and gain her money with choreographing for several companies. Her love for dancing turned into something lucrative and completely lost its magic to her. Maybe that's why she seems so distant and indifferent to most people, because the fire in her has vanished just like her sister. Nevertheless, watching idols learning her choreographies, Nabi often thinks back of her time as a trainee and every now and then wonders what life would look like if she had chosen another way and if her sister was still there things would have gone a lot different.

trivia

The tipsy therapist: Nabi is a strong drinker. But whenever she drinks, she very quickly turns into a therapist. That's probably the only time when she actually gets active in helping others other than just listening to their problems. Usually she would only listen, repeat what the person said and confirm that she understood the struggle. Real answers and help you only get from the tipsy therapist, though.

Just don't mention it. Oh, you did. Well, this is on you then: If there's something you shouldn't address, then it's the topic Naeun. It's her Achilles heel and it'll get her more worked up than she likes. She'll either start inertly fuming until she erupts like an active volcano or she'll grow sad, hiding the sorrow behind her usual silence.

I am not young enough to know everything: Nabi has no idea of most idol groups. She only knows those who she already worked with. Who you want to know? Until now she worked most of the time for rather unknown companies, just a few more known ones among them. Groups she worked with for example are: Big Star, Glam, Tiny-G, C-Clown, A-Jax and the probably biggest fish among them, T-ara.

Hear no evil, speak no evil - and you'll never be invited to a party: As a self-proclaimed extroverted introvert, Nabi might join one or two parties but she never puts a lot of effort into being the center of it. She's not a person to force herself onto others, so instead of throwing cuddles at them, she'll lay trails to draw people into talking to her on their own.

The right sense of humor can be defeating: Even though she might not look like it, Nabi enjoys good jokes. The more eloquent and intellectual, the better. But she doesn't disdain a good pun, either.

relationships

— Sister • Cha Naeun / 26 / former idol, went missing / stubborn, quick-tempered and passionate / 5

Naeun is the person in this big, big world that Nabi loves the most. Even though her sister never really showered her back with affection. The older of the Cha sisters functioned as role model for Nabi and she often wished to become like her big sister one day. Nabi always wished to be closer to her, if Naeun just hadn't pushed her little sister away the entire time. But the strong bond between the siblings showed when the last person that Naeun called before disappearing happened to be Nabi. Until now Nabi never understood why Naeun detested her sister so much. Ah well...at least Nabi's analytic and observant mind sprung from trying to find out about that.

— The one she babies • Park Yeonwoo / 23 / manager  / 4

Yeonwoo is... cute. Not seldomly Nabi finds herself chuckling over Yeonwoo's behavior. She knows he's good by heart and secretely thinks of him as a little puppy even though he's older than her.

— Very much neutral • Im Sunkyu / 25 / Stylist & Coordinator / 3

If there's someone that Nabi can respect, it's Sunkyu. Because Sunkyu won't have the the management puts upon the girls. Nabi can agree with most of the points Sunkyu brings up, she stays away from her often still, as she rather avoids accidentally picking a fight with her whenever their opinions are not the same.

— The one that sparks her interest • Lee Myungjun / 28 / PR Coordinator  / 5

Myungjun fascinates Nabi. She often watches him just being him and tries to see through him, seeing that he indeed cares and just tries his best. When he's troubled, she wants to know what is going on in his head and when he builds up the cold walls around him... she just feels like she can relate to it. Yes, she'd love to sit down with Myungjun, drink a bottle of Soju or two and talk about his problems. That's something she'd greatly appreciate.

Plotline The Protectress

Prior Experience

— From 2002 to 2007 Nabi was a trainee at AB Entertainment, the same entertainment Naeun was signed in. She received dancing and singing classes there. After dropping out, she finished school while visiting a dance Hakwon and around 2009 started working for a few dance studios until she received her first choreography requests in 2011.

Why do they want to be an idol?

— Nabi wanted to be like her sister. That's pretty much why she had wanted to become an idol. But with Naeun going missing, she also lost the motivation to become an idol.

If they could change anything, what would they choose?

— If she could, Nabi would bring her sister back. And if she ever hears from the other girls what the future would look like for the three staffs of their hearts, she'd try to avoid that outcome, too.

What price are they willing to pay for this chance?

— Would she sacrifice herself? Just if she's invested enough. For her sister? Probably. For the person she loves? That would be taken into consideration. Besides that? No. She first has to know for sure what happened to her sister. Only then she will be able to give her all for others.

back up love interest Go Taegi (Ji Changwook) // I didn't know if you already planned something for Myungjun at this point of the story, so I came up with little Taegi. Just go for the one you find more matching, I'm okay with anything ^^

personality

"I think God, in creating man, somewhat overestimated his ability."

20-year-old Taegi is the typical noisy, clumsy good-for-nothing with high aspirations. He dreams of one day being able to become a manager or CEO of his own company. He currently is an intern for Sunday and basically used as errand boy and chased around like it's nobody's business.
Taegi often appears like some kind of wild puppy, randomly popping out of nowhere and sharing his opinion when not asked. He's curious and forces himself onto others, one might think his favorite activity is annoying others when in fact it's just him trying to somehow socialize with others. This boy's a helpless extrovert. He needs the attention. He just doesn't know how to get it.
Taegi is full of flaws, but his blind optimisn is what brightens one's day when dark clouds are gathering. Or it just annoys you even more. Yes, he is overly naive, thinking that at the end of the road there always is a happy end waiting. And he loves keep telling others about that belief. The only time he leaves others alone is when the higher ups tell him to shut up. He's very obedient and scared of authorities, hence the reason whenever the CEO wants certain things to happen the way he said but Sunkyu and Yeonwoo decide to do something completely different, he'll be in super huge denial. SUPER HUGE. He'll annoy them with questioning what they're doing, whining like an abandoned puppy about how he's scared of the aftermath they might face.

All those mentioned things are reasons to question... why he likes a person like Nabi. Actually, it's because he thinks "she's a super cool Noona!". Probably her No.1 Fan ever.

love story

"To give and not to expect in return, that is what lies at the heart of love."

— The Myungjun route: What connects Myungjun and Nabi are... Myungjun's problems. The friendship they share but never mention or show in front of the others starts that one day when Myungjun is sitting alone in a Pojangmacha, drinking some Soju, thinking about all the worries he has regarding Re-Play when Nabi happens to sit down right next to him after working with the girls. She sits there, takes a second and then notices Myungjun, totally taken aback, but then being way too curious to not talk to him. She'll tell him that she didn't expect him in a place like that and then in silence they drink each for themselves. Meeting with the others again, they'll both act as if nothing ever happened... just to meet each other again another day in the Pojangmacha. And that's where it starts and where Myungjun will start warming up (thanks to some Soju) and tell Nabi about what is troubling him. And the drunk therapist she is, will then give her rare advices.

As you might see, it will be more Nabi feeling highly attracted to Myungjun and his problems. Who knows if he considers her as a possible partner even?

— The Taegi route: Taegi will test Nabi and annoy the out of everyone around. He follows her around like a lovesick puppy, adores her from afar but also from upfront. Most of the time she ignores him, can't help but every now and then be annoyed by him as well since he's a tad too careless about how he sees the world and himself. They're actually doomed to remain as the beauty and the puppy but if the beauty can fall for a beast, who says that she can't fall for a puppy either?

This one will be more about Taegi being into Nabi. Wow. Together they make the GiBi-Couple... omg XD Anyway, it's questionable if Taegi manages to stockholm Nabi into liking him. At least she'll find some amusement in berating him and teaching him about life and her points of view if he strains her nerves enough.

last comment The love interest section is rather a suggestion than something that you actually have to work  into the story. It just hit me, so I wrote it down. I hope you like Nabi :)
