No 2 - Doori literally means "two" in Korean. Doori jokingly calls herself "The forever No 2" because she sees her name as a curse laid upon her.
Boyfriend - Her girl friends refer to her as their "boyfriend". Whenever they need a cuddle, comfort, an excuse to escape some rando dude or want to get experimental, Doori is the one to call.

Whatever Doori wears, she happens to grace it with what she deems her very own "Big D*ck Energy". She has that certain something that makes girls question their uality while guys either get intimidated or beg her to step on them. She never really complains about anything her stylists dress her in. She feels comfortable in her body and shows it. It's rather the stylists having issues with her being incapable of toning down the way she appears and Doori-fys given outfits.
I wear it better than him
There's something about male clothing in particular that appeals to Doori to the extent she'll see them as a challenge: Doori loves proving guys that she can wear their outfits and be more attracting to girls than them.
Other than that, Doori loves pragmatic and comfortable clothes. She doesn't mind y dresses, but it's the baggy clothes and comfortable shirts she goes for naturally.

Doori was born with lots of passion, lots of charisma and lots of love to give. She does what she loves and learns quickly to love what she does. She's open-minded, curious to experience a variety of things and doesn't fear failure or even being hurt. There's really not much she's afraid of. She runs, she stumbles, falls, then gets up, brushes off the dirt and keeps running.
She's so full of energy, she barely manages to filter her words or actions. She blurts out random thoughts, announces her own entrance with "BIG D ENERGY INCOMING!" or accompanies conversations, fights or even people simply looking at each other with background songs she sings to them. She knows most Drama OSTs by heart and won't hold back giving whole Boys over Flowers concerts as background noise just because she sees them fit in the situation.
Despite looking very tough on the outside, she's a real derp, very noisy and playfully dramatic. Not seldomly she pisses off one or another because she's claimed to take things "too easy" or "not seriously at all". In general, she's very over the top.
To keep her outside image of the ultimate girlcrush alive and prevent Doori to murder it herself with her very personality, she most of the time is told to not speak a lot when being in front of cameras. Some, however, claim that it's the leaked footage of her simply being her authentic self made her so popular among fans.

Doori doesn't mind others taking the spotlight or being better than her. She even hypes them up from the sidelines and genuinely loves to be their biggest supporter. Whenever you see her working hard it's not to be better than someone else but because the company tells her to, otherwise they'll boot her out before she even blinks.
Doori's not only supportive, she's also very protective and loves to be the knight in shining armor. She channels a lot of what is considered "male energy", to her it's just her being herself while questioning while there's such nonsense as specific traits being deemed male or female. She doesn't judge, she doesn't blame. She wants everyone to be the best version of themselves. You think she's schemeing against you? Think again... Doori is on the slower side. Yeah seriously. She honestly is just a fierce looking himbo.
Why come out of the closet, when it's the perfect place to make out at?
It is what it is
Accepting any kind of circumstances is Doori's special skill...or so she believes. "It is what it is", she'll say. Or at least she'll try to tell herself. "Keep quiet during interviews" - It is what it is. "You're gay and gays are not accepted" - It is what it is. "You're a total slack-off. Look at Seojin, can't you be a little more like her?!" - It is what... okay no, here's where she draws the line. Doori might be brave, but she's scared of being kicked out of the company for sure. She's seen it all - trainees being let go after years. She sure as hell doesn't want to be one of them. Doori doesn't want to be better than Seojin. She just wants to be acknolwedged ONCE and not be reminded, that the company can send her flying whenever they want.
Fun fact: The moment she'll become the fan favorite of all the SOL AI members, she'll keep telling everyone "It is what it is". Yet, the words will have changed meanings. With the won luxury of being well-received, she'll advocate the others to keep going, accept shortcomings and tell them "It's not that bad". It IS that bad. You just forgot what it's like, now that you have it all cozy and angst-free up there, Doori!
The day Doori was born, her parents decided that if their first daughter was deemed the No 1 "Hana", their second daughter had to step into her footsteps as No 2 "Doori". Little did they know that this decision would forever make Doori feel about herself how she feels now - the second best. She always kinda felt out of place, even as a child. But it was K-Dramas and K-Pop that made her feel like there was a colorful and flashy world waiting for her where she would fit right in. Naturally, she decided that if she had to grow up, she'd be forever on a stage sharing a colorful image to those as lost as she was. Then she auditioned... and figured that the idol industry wasn't half as fun as she imagined.
Cursed at No 2
Being charismatic and extroverted is important as an idol. But with a very eccentric and outstanding older sister, Doori always felt like she wasn't enough. Until this very day, she wonders how she even made it through auditions. There's no day passing where she doesn't feel like an imposter. It's not like she's bad, don't get me wrong. She's always been a very promising trainee. However, it never was enough to compare to someone like Seojin or hard-working Soyi. "It is what it is", Doori says once again and blames her name for cursing her to be forever stuck with the 2nd best label. She hates to be seen as a b-grade but settled for it, trying to at least make the cut to not be torn away from Soyi. Less talented, gay... Doori has a lot on her plate. Bundled with the fact that the others seem to always be ahead of her, Doori feels like she's the universe's running gag.

POSITION Lead Vocal, Lead Dance
Ever since starting out as a trainee, Doori can't remember if there was ever a time where she was praised the way Seojin was praised. Maybe it was actually better this way, at least she didn't get nasty side eyes and such. She was never really considered as serious threat by anyone and pretty much got a free pass for being the funny, cool girl to talk to even when the fights were boiling up. She somehow always made it through evaluations and avoided being cut the best she could.
As a trainee, Doori connected fairly well with most girls, especially the foreign ones. As she enjoys spending time with anyone she's considered pretty or cute, she never feared language barriers and socialized with them even if she couldn't understand a single word.
The biggest motivation to debut, however, was Soyi. Cute, pretty, amazingly talented and hard-working Soyi is the rolemodel Doori looks up to. Doori didn't want to be separated from her so she put extra effort in making the cut. It went so far, she tried to somehow get attention and stand out, even if it meant making an absolute fool out of herself. What's dignity, really?

If there's something Doori admires aside from beauty, it's passion. Of course, Soyi stood out to her as that very talented and hard-working girl, she is from day one. It only took Doori 10 minutes talking to Soyi to fall so hard for her, she thought she got a concussion. They started to hang out a lot together with Soyi's sister and became close friends that talked about (almost) everything, reached out for each other when in distress and Doori even "joked" about marrying Soyi one day. She may or may not have answered during interviews that her ideal type is "someone" like Soyi.
To Doori Soyi is the sweetest, cutest, most loving, most significant, significant other she's ever had. She would totally handcuff Soyi to pick at her face, watches movies she absolutely hates with her, writes secret notes to hide in her bag for emotional support during training and evaluations and she'll protect Soyi from absolutely anything.

Through thick and thin. They promised this. And Doori believed that there would never be anything coming between her and Soyi. But then it happened. Soyi's attention started to shift to someone else.
Hwan.
Whereas Soyi never openly admitted or even knew she liked him, Doori noticed. And it hurt. It hurt so much, she just couldn't understand. What in the heathens was so special about this guy oggling any girl he deemed somewhat pretty? He was a playboy who wasn't even THAT handsome, come on. Yet, Hwan had what Doori wanted so much. Soyi's attention. Doori started an unhealthy obsession over Hwan, analysing whatever he said, did or even the way he moved. She started to be so jealous, people would notice the way she stared at him. And then he noticed, too.
And what was originally meant as death stares suddenly was misinterpreted into romantic desire. Hwan really started to think Doori was secretly crushing on him and thus started to develop a crush on her himself. And thus, the drama started to unfold...

Doori considered Hwan an absolute jerk and treated him so coldly, Seojin would have been proud of her had she ever noticed Doori before. Yet, it's uncommon for playful Doori to ever treat someone coldly. Eventually, people even misinterpreted her coldness as interest and wondered what was up between the two of them.
Then one day Hwan waited in front of the training room for Doori to finish up her late night sessions she loved to pull to get some extra training to catch up with the others. He knew her schedule so well, the moment he barged in, she almast cried out "CREEP!". When Doori tried to escape, they figured they were locked up alone in the building and had to spend the night alone there, At least, it gave both of them the chance to get to know each other... and Doori finally noticed that Hwan wasn't half-bad. They actually vibed and became friends.

With the blossoming friendship between Hwan and Doori, the friendship of Soyi and Doori started to wither. Soyi, also one to misinterpret the very complex friendship of Doori and Hwan, started distancing herself from her best friend. Doori never understood why. Was it because she liked Hwan? Did she feel left out? One was for sure: Doori didn't take the sudden distance well. And the worse it got, the more her heart ached. It ached so much, she reached out for Hwan to cry her heart out. But how does a young woman cry about her one-sided crush without coming out as gay? Right, she does so cryptically. Hwan once again got it all wrong and thought Doori was talking about him, telling her about his one-sided crush in return... only to confess to her and be rejected. Doori gently told him she wasn't talking about him and that the reason she focused so much on him wasn't because she had a crush on him... but the person she had a crush on having a crush on him. She finally came out to him - but never mentioned Soyi. Doori never meant to ruin Soyi's chances with Hwan, so she will keep her name to herself. To Doori's surprise Hwan took the news very well and decided their friendship was more valuable to him than a broken ego or heart. So they kept being friends.

Despite being friends with both Soyi and Hwan - or even especially because of that - Doori ached even more over her one-sided crush. She noticed that Hwan and Soyi were meant to be and subtly pushed Hwan towards Soyi. At the same time her heartbreak became too hard to handle and Doori herself began distancing herself from her best friend. She wants Soyi to be happy. But this wish does not go along with her very own desire to be with Soyi.
To overcome the heartbreak, Doorie started writing songs. She wrote one dedicated to Soyi, called "My Truth Untold".

... OR SO I HOPED
And somehow it checks out for Doori. Not in love matters, but she suddenly becomes the unexpected fan favorite and what's better than a bunch of very cute fangirls squealing when they see you on stage? Right, the hot ice princess of your group suddenly noticing you.
Seojin never really paid much attention to Doori, completely underestimating her. Naturally, it's what's probably bugging her the most. And thus all of Seojin's attention is suddenly is directed at the upstart.
Doori always thought Seojin was kinda hot. The icy allure just did something to her. But it never reached the level of attraction she felt for Soyi. Until Seojin starts to be around Doori so often, she feels like she sees her more often than her very own reflection in the mirror. And Doori likes all of the newly-won attention. But what to Doori becomes a playful push-and-pull is so very frustrating to Seojin. All the jealousy, hostility, the remarks and the side-eyes don't reach Doori. She seems to be a wall of flirtatious playfulness that absorbs it all and turns it into daring comebacks that either leave Seojin in a speechless blush or utter irritation and frustration.
And when one day Doori kabedons Seojin to the next wall and asks her "When will you finally admit, that you're very much into me?", it's when Seojin figures what Doori's biggest secret is. And that there's a lot more than jealousy and hate she's feeling for Doori.
Somehow, Doori and Seojin work out in the beginning. And it could have been perfect... if not for Seojin's on-going war against Doori's popularity. Even though they're trying hard to make it work, jealousy gets in the way and weighes heavily on their relationship. Doori doesn't know how to deal with it. What can she do to make Seojin feel better? Quit? That would feel like a pity present. Try to drag Seojin into the spotlight with her? Tried that before, fans only started to hype Doori even more after that. It's not easy and the discrepancy grows with every day passing.
At some point the fights get too much to handle and Doori ain't taking forced distance in relationships well. The PTSD from her heartbreak over Soyi comes back and leads Doori right back to Soyi.
BACK TO THE ROOTS
It's the ill-deemed relationship with Seojin that causes Doori to miss Soyi the most. She misses her best friend she could talk to about everything so much, she reaches out to her for comfort. And when she does, she finally comes out to Soyi. Out of the closet, out with her secret crush and out with the issues she's facing now that she's dating Seojin. When the dust settkes between the two, they finally go back to their old days, talking, laughing and even cuddling. Yeah, Hwan can it. Doori has priority cuddle rights forever. And no, Hwan. You can't join. Period.
