MOTTO
On ne voit bien qu’avec le cœur. L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.
(You can only see with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.)
TRAITS
POSITIVE: friendly, playful, easy-going, empathetic, adaptable
NEUTRAL: realistic, reserve, unbiased, non-judgmental, compromising
NEGATIVE: impulsive, stubborn, clumsy, absentminded, passive-aggressive
ELABORATION
Yeon is the kind of person that usually behaves one way or another depending on how close or how well she knows someone. Out of politeness she's friendly and would talk to someone to just break the ice even though to her it may seem out of place and awkward. This leads to Yeon being easy-going as she would rather be relax and calm instead of uncomfortable and hostile in the environment. Luckily Yeon is able to adapt in her surrounding without totally feeling like an oddball, although she doesn't mind being a wallflower at times as well. Yeon also has a great deal of having empathy for someone or something and tries to perceive many things from different perspective and not be closed-minded often. Yeon can be a playful person if she has created a bond with them where their relationship can be at that level. Sometimes it takes a while only because she doesn't trust so easily and usually treads the water before diving in completely. Sometimes it just depends on the situation and Yeon wants to assess it.

It's how Yeon is realistic. Sure she's quite imaginative and open-minded, but Yeon reminds herself that there are times when she has to think of real life and those around her. It's why she's reserve with people and likes to see and know how they are before becoming closer. Yeon dislikes it when people judge others as many people have misjudged her lots of time, but than again Yeon knows it's only human nature to do so. So Yeon has to remind herself to not be so biased and try to be fair and see the gray within the black and white. Life is never that easy and Yeon knows that for sure although the struggles are never that easy to deal with, but that what makes life refreshing and the rewards favorable. Anyways, Yeon prefers to compromise instead of choosing or doing one over the other, unless it's sports or something easy since most things in life can be judge fairly without complicating the matters further.

Even if Yeon can remind herself all of the positive things in life, she knows that the negativity has to come and go as well. Yeon can be impulsive and say and do things that may make her regret it afterwards and may also seem insensitive and like a jerk, too. This can make her become stubborn if she's a firm believer of something or doesn't want change as Yeon has been comfortable with how things have been. It could also mean the changes of doing one thing one way and now having to do it another way. Sometimes it would make her clumsy, not because Yeon has two left feet or is accidental prone per se, but it's because she's unfamiliar and unskilled with it all. Which leads to Yeon being absentminded at times as Yeon either forgets and gets lost in the focus or is mentally tired and wants something to distract herself from it all. Somehow stuff life this can make Yeon passive-aggressive without her realizing it. Even if she's frustrated or angry, she'll keep her composure in a calm-like way, but her voice and words will betray her as they'll come out differently then Yeon has initially wanted it to and may sound different to the receiver.

All in all, Yeon usually says that she's the best example of the saying, 'don't judge a book by its cover'. Yeon knows that people will already think of her one way or another not because they know her, but because they know of her or of how she portrays herself. Yeon won't go out of her way to change someone's mind of what they think of her, but she will give them the opportunity to get to know her better if they wish, and to find out what kind of bond to form with Yeon as well. So like before, Yeon will act and behave one way or another depending on the level of trust, one on one connection, different forms of bonding, and the personal closeness she feels with someone on those many levels. For Yeon, once you step into her life and want to be a part of it, she's forever got your back and will be there for you to her best ability. Yeon doesn't forget those who have done her good or wrong, and pays it back ten fold except the evil part. Those who done her wrong, Yeon lets karma get back at them for that.

LOST CHILD IN AISLE 5

BACKGROUND
Yeon lives with her brother since their parents divorced when she was in her first year of high scool. Both parents went their separate ways and figured that their two kids were old enough to do things and live on their own accord. Seon took Yeon in as he figured he might as well since he practically raised and took care of her since Yeon was born as their parents were busy with their jobs and their own lives. Yeon hasn't been in touch with either parents since the divorce and forgets that they're still alive to this day until Seon mentions them. Still attends college to be a teacher, but isn't in a rush to become one and so just lives her life as she wants to while slowly moving towards her Education degree.
LIFESTYLE
Yeon works six days a week that occupies a lot of her time and life although she does find the time to attend classes for two days out of the week. Every Tuesday and Thursday Yeon attends Dongduk Women's University (DWS) for her degree in Education. Yeon has morning classes from ten-ten until twelve-fifteen in the afternoon. Although she knows she's taking a little longer than most, Yeon isn't in a rush to live her life to just work her off at a career that eventually would make her hate it and complain about her job and boss later, and repeat it again the next day. Although her life seems kind of like that now, Yeon sees her twenties as a time to just live life and worry about everything else when she hits her thirties.

Anyways, from Monday through Friday Yeon works at What the Book? from two in the afternoon to eight at night with a forty minute lunch break at five-twenty. On Saturday she works from ten in the morning to eight at night with an hour lunch break at one-thirty and then a thirty minute break later at five. She never gets the chance to go home early because the bigger boss always decides to leave first, but she always closes the store with just Jaeshin though. Because of this, Yeon and Jaeshin always eat at the nearest noodle shop every other night for dinner and other places near by on the other days because Jaeshin forces her along until it became a habit. The duo would usually talk about the events that had happened at work and other little things that comes up before eventually going their separate ways.

Sundays are her only days off from work and she spends those days with Seon and Taeha. The siblings would either eat breakfast or lunch at their favorite restaurant or go window shopping from morning to noon and getting ice cream and bubble tea afterwards while catching up with each other's lives or reminscing about the past. Then later that Sunday night is where she and Taeha go watch a late night movie or visit the animal shelter that Taeha works at where her friend would talk about one of the critters doing this and that. Some times the two friends would have dinner near the Han River and talk about life or whatever that comes to mind while stargazing.

Some times on every other Sunday is when Seon and Taeha have their all day dates and that leaves Yeon all by herself to do whatever she wants to do alone. Like Yeon would sleep in until close to three in the afternoon, then play video games for an hour, and eat brunch if she remembers if she hadn't snack on something by then. After that, she spends it cleaning the house and rearranging the living room's furniture to fit her mood which causes Seon to get slightly annoyed as the layout has changed and isn't what it was when he left that morning. Then she would shower and end up playing for an hour of computer games before sleeping at around two in the morning.

After separating from Jaeshin at the noodle shop, Yeon usually takes the long way home to enjoy the night time scenery, the passengers, and its sounds. For some reason she likes to observe the people that ride the same subway or bus as her while taking pictures of these moments with her mobile device. Because Yeon knows that around this time it's never the same as she switches between the different subway and bus stations that she takes while going home. Also, it's because during the day people are rushing to get from one place to another place and are on some type of schedule that they have to maintain whereas during the night it's slow and not as bustling compare to day time. Another reason is that she loves seeing the different aspect of life between day and night when she compares the photos.

Yeon moves out to live on her own shortly after she starts working at High Street Market. Also, it was a bit after when Seon proposes to Taeha and Yeon believes it's time for her to live on her own. Besides, she didn't want to witness any of their lovey-dovey moments than she already has to if they all lived under the same roof. Seon made such a big deal about it as she has never lived on her own and such, but eventually relented when Taeha convinced him that Yeon is a grown adult and he has to let her go to live on her own. Also, Seon has to think about being on his own without Yeon being around and that he is also a full grown man.

RELATIONSHIPS

Older Brother + Lim Seon (림선/林先) + talkative, carefree, mischievous

Interactions
They're super close. Yeon sometimes likes Seon and sometimes she just wanna bury him six feet under. Then again, without her brother, she wouldn't have learned to be tough in sports, looking out for herself, and having someone to always be there for her despite everything that has happened in life. To her, Yeon owes her thanks and gratitude to Seon for being the one to convince her parents to pursue this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Also, Yeon believes her brother to have a sister complex as he's protective of her yet teases her the most. He doesn't deny nor confirm this though. Recently, Yeon has become number two since he's gotten together with Taeha who is number one now and that makes Yeon super happier to not be smothered anymore.  Seon's an auto mechanic and is thirty-one years old. Knows Korean and French.

Best Friend / Brother's Fiancee + Yang Taeha (양태하) + friendly, supportive, sweet

Interactions
They're really close. Yeon has always seen Taeha like family and now that's going to happen since Seon proposed to Taeha. They grew up together through thick and thin while watching out for one another. Plus, it was always nice to get away from her brother and talk with Taeha about whatever and just do girls things every now and then when they were younger. Also, Taeha always had a thing for Seon growing up and the two got together when Yeon and her entered college. Anyways, Yeon is thrill to have Taeha as family, it just that she gets gang up by the two when Taeha chooses her brother's side instead of hers for the fun of it and see Yeon suffer. Taeha's a volunteer at an animal shelter and is twenty-five years old. Knows Korean and French.

Co-Worker Friend + Lee Jaeshin (이재신) + reserved, stubborn, mischievous

Interactions
They're close. The two actually met on their first day on the job as the new hirers. At first Yeon didn't really like Jaeshin at all as he was kind of mischievous like Seon and seemed to like to annoye her like how her brother would do  but without the whole affectionate aspect of it. It wasn't until a week or two in when they actually grew close with another when another worker accused Jaeshin of stealing money from the register, but Yeon called that worker out on it due to the fact that Jaeshin has never handled the cash register since starting or ever been near it as she and him were always together. That co-worker eventually got fired upon further proof and both Yeon and Jaeshin kept their job since then. Still though, Jaeshin remains loyal to Yeon and would do anything for her if she asked him to. Yeon doesn't unless she's lazy to do something and makes him do it. Jaeshin's a bookstore clerk and is twenty-three years old. Knows Korean and English.

Boss + Son Dabin + worrisome, easy-going, sweet

Interactions
Yeon is polite around Dabin and respects her. She thinks Dabin is a lovely lady despite what her kids say about her. Yeon actually wished she had a mother like Dabin while growing up. Yeon definitely loves calling Dabin either Boss Lady or Miss Dabin.

Boss' Son + Son Jinyoung + reserve, pushover, over-protective

Interactions
Yeon feels bad for Jinyoung at times whenever Nayoung drags him into something, but doesn't have the heart to tell him to grow a backbone of sorts whenever it deals with his sister. Yeon thinks it's because of Seon and how he always watched out for her and went along with whatever she wanted and so feels like she doesn't have the right to say anything. Anyways, Yeon listens to him majority of the time, but every now and then she would get slighly annoyed with his nagging concerning about any cleaning up.

Boss' Daughter + Son Nayoung + out-going, impulsive, temperamental

Interactions
Yeon kind of gets annoyed, but doesn't really say anything unless she has to towards Nayoung. Also, feels like she has met a female version of Seon, but a less tamed and more rowdier Seon. Doesn't want to get involved with any of Nayoung's schemes, but for some odd reason they seem tempting and feels like going along with them out of boredom. Yeon hardly follows Nayoung's order unless Yeon feels like she needs to.

Co-Worker Friend + Baek Junhyung + chill, carefree, intelligent

Interactions
Yeon only really interacts with him whenever she needs to clean the corner that Junhyung likes to preoccupy whenever he's around. She doesn't get how he could make it messy despite not really doing anything except play his hand-held game player. She's usually throwing snide remarks in his direction under her breath or openly whenever he has some smart comment to fire back at her.

Co-Worker Friend + Kim Haesung + caring, down-to-earth, talkative

Interactions
Yeon is actually envious of Haesung. Not because she could eat and not gain weight, but the fact that she eats delicious food she cooks and makes herself. Sure Yeon can make the basic meals along with her brother and friend, but it's not the same. Yeon doesn't mind if Haesung makes a mess or whatever because Haesung seems productive unlike Junhyung she feels isn't productive. Yeon clearly favors Haesung over all the others with no real reason except that Yeon likes Haesung like a little sister if she was her own.
DID SOMEBODY SAY SALE

JOB POSITION Janitor
BACK UP Shelfstocker
OUTSIDE OCCUPATION Bookstore Clerk at What the Book? [x]
SHORT BIO
Yeon, a girl who seems practically busy, but for some reason has a lot of time on her hands to spare and would love to make sure they continue to stay quite busy. Yeon works six days a week between a six and/or ten hours job at a bookstore. She manages the online bookstore website, organizes the books and the furniture and the displays, labels unnecessary things, cleans to keep herself busy, and deals with customers as minimal as possible unless no one else is around to assist the customer. Whenever possible she would sneak off to one of the unused or least popular sections to either get in a quick nap or catch up on the latest chapter of a book she gets to read for free although the bosses doesn't know that she does.

LOVE INTEREST Lee Jaeshin [OC check Relationship]
BACK UP none.

TRAITS
+ sensible, responsible, reserved, patient, cautious.
- fastidious, stubborn, tense, obsessive, mischievous.

ELABORATION
Jaeshin has a very good sense of judgment that makes him quite reasonable. He is also reliable, trustworthy, and can be someone that you can truly depend upon when you need him. Jaeshin's cool and quite nature makes others think he's just silent, but he's not. Jaeshin just has a great deal of self-restraint and self-control. Which makes Jaeshin tolerant of enduring pain, difficulties, provocations, and annoyances with tranquility and calmness. Some times though, Jaeshin has the tendency to avoid potential danger or problems if anything unexpected should occur despite his calm demeanor.

Jaeshin often shows and acts with careful attention to detail and because of this it makes him difficult to please. Jaeshin can also be a persistent person and unyielding with his way of thinking and probably doing things unless he otherwise see unfit. Sometimes which can make Jaeshin get anxious and easily agitated. In which it would make him become obsessive to preoccupied his mind with a particular activity, person, or thing. However at times it would cause Jaeshin to show a fondness of causing trouble in a playful way and manner.

INTERACTIONS
Yeon can't read him at all some times and it frustrates her to bits and so she feels like she has to be on her guard whenever she's around Jaeshin despite having known him for almost five years. Jaeshin teases Yeon a lot. Like a lot. When others aren't around and when it's only just the two of them. Yeon ignores him most of the time, but she'll have a snarky remark when she feels like she has had enough of Jaeshin teasing and mocking. The only weird thing when it's just the two of them and no one is around is that he is always asking for one of her snacks whenever she's snacking. Yeon only gives it to him just so it will shut him up and that he will leave her alone for a while.

Other than that, Jaeshin and Yeon bicker and banter almost constantly like in a some what hard to get kind of flirting way, but it's nothing really serious to the point where they actually fight or whatever. Although the other co-workers and their boss have money on when Yeon will actually take down Jaeshin. So far, everyone has lost and the bet is still going on. Anyways, Yeon's not sure why she tolerates Jaeshin the way she does despite how annoying he can be, but Taeha keeps mentioning something about her being totally unaware of her actual feelings and that maybe she actually likes the guy. Yeon considers it, but doesn't ponder much on it as she just believes they're just friends and act like how she kind of does with her brother.

Since Yeon began working at her other job, Jaeshin feels like Yeon has abandoned him for new co-workers and such. Yeon tells Jaeshin to get over it as she still sees him six days a week compare to the others who are only five days a week. Later Jaeshin starts to accompany her to her other job after eating dinner so that Yeon arrives safe and sound and he knows that nothing actually happens while on her way to work, but always tells her to text him whenever she gets off so that he knows that she made it home safe and sound to ease his heart and mind. Of course he doesn't tell her that, but instead that he doesn't want to face her brother's wrath for not looking after her better now that she lives on her own since moving out recently.

HEY SLAVE! PLEASE TAKE THIS TIME TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF.
Hi. I'm Lim Yeon- and yes I only have a two syllable name if you were going to ask about it. I'm turning twenty-five years old this year and still happily single, but don't want to mingle. Unless my friend doesn't think so or so she tells me. I'm currently attending school and still have quite a little bit left to get my teaching degree, but I'm in no rush to get that either.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO WORK AT HIGH STREET MARKET?
I saw another job opportunity and decided to apply for it and to hopefully make some extra money for school later on as well as I'll be living on my own soon, too. Also I heard a lot of good things about High Street Market although I've never actually shopped here before.

HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE SUITED FOR THE LATE SHIFTS?
I stay up late anyways and why not put that to some good use by working the graveyard shift if available.

DO YOU HAVE ANY UNIQUE QUALITIES THAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE STORE?
I wouldn't say unique, but definitely basic and skilled as I've done plenty of organizing and cleaning. I do pretty well in a timely manner for both chores.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THE STAFF MEMBERS?
Promotions would be great to draw in potential customers. Also holding fun events once or maybe even twice a week can help with sales and draw in regulars to stop by more often. Some thing like a pet day to help shelter animals to find homes. Or a car show or a reading club. I personally would love to do a game night or a sports event if possible. Honestly, there's a lot of things that could be done to enhance High Street Market.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR US?
Nope. No questions, and thank you for giving me a chance.

ALRIGHT, THAT'S A WRAP! BEFORE WE GO THOUGH, SAY SOMETHING FUNNY.
I correct autocorrect more than autocorrect corrects me.
