now...the five new songs...

ok bet you already know this is about produce 101 concept evaluation....i mean...even if you didn't....now you know!

actually...i don't have much to say...lol.

but...let's try...from songs with most to least things to talk about...i can't choose a fav....this season...the songs felt less varied than last season...where the differences between each song were really clear cut...so it's easier to choose favs...

as usual...my opinions aren't filtered with niceties n pleasantries so...when it's harsh it'll be just harsh...it is what it is. since this is my blog afterall...head out if you think you can't handle...thank you.

and as always, please don't feel the need to be offended by a person's personal taste(i mean, you can be, but no need to take it so seriously). it's not like my opinion change anything...if only it could...lol.

1. I Know You Know

First...the song isn't as bad as i feared it'd be. yay. what a relief. i love their dance moves where they're kicking while jumping to the sides or sth...they look like they're flying....really graceful n i love the overall theatrical/musical feel to their overall perf n i have to say out of the teams...they looked the most carefree, uncalculated at times n light fluttery n like they're really enjoying their perf instead of just performing it compared to other teams, their enjoyment made me enjoyed it too...n seonghyuk singing while doing those flying moves. he's so stable. and can we take a moment to spazz that seo seonghyuk is main vocalist here? omgomgomg...i'm so proud n happy for him...from the one with littlest parts...to main vocalist. makes me wisftful to think of the kids who never got their chance to shine...so i'm happy he finally got it now. totally a breakthrough...to see such rise when usually you just see same ol main vocalists repeat over n over n over again...maybe cuz this team had none of those 'main vocalist' kids...i'm so thankful for that. n he totally hardcarry the chorus parts n even continuously interweave with adlibs while doing the chorus(i'm even wondering why no backups from other members instead? pfft...okay maybe there's a little backups towards the end i didn't noticed...my bad.. better than none i guess)...but he did so well...i'm so proud of him. n kim yehyun also getting more parts than his previous tragic tiny opening lines in 'if it's you'...yay, a step up n he even get to show his range here. the keys/notes or sth to this song are really high especially for the verses or falsetto or whatever you call it....so...it must be quite tough i was scared for the subvocals here...kim donghyun, kim donghan, kim taedong, kim yehyun...i'm glad they didn't mess up n did really well...kim donghyun particularly impressed me even though i never paid attention to him. n probly won't continue to, yikes. idk why when i see kim taedong i think of hong eunki tho....err...that's random. n jang moonbok didn't sound like jang moonbok! his high pitch tone/voice gone(i love his unique voice/tone/pitch tho T^T it sets him apart from generic/typical rapper sounds)...i hope everyone who always have to complain abt his untalentedness just cuz they don't like his voice or whatever...would be happy now...or maybe you'll only be happy once he's out...no worries...he's not gonna get up there anyway...n kwon hyunbin...i used to hate him in sorry sorry perf n thought he ruined the perf...even in downpour he annoyed me but he did well here, i don't have reason to hate...i'm so happy. and then their ending n those finger signature gestures...lol. they have lots of cute moments/moves in the dance without being overly cutesy or kiddy...like...cutesy for adults or big kids? sth like that...the perf i mean...the song is more groovy/funky than cutesy...

i'm so sad they indeed end up with tragic fate...ugh...whatever...nation producers are the worst producers ever anyway. hey i already know that(you know it too :p). they just want to prove that point....

all in all i'm happy they did so well....they can still be proud of this despite their tragic points...they deserve to. i expected little of the song...but i ended up liking it more than i thought i would, and liking the kids/team only made it better. no weak link, everyone did fabulous, n enjoyed the perf...n most importantly they really look like a team n respond to each other onstage n that's just awesome...great teamwork n i shouldn't be surprised considering some of the best personalities were gathered in this team.. and it's not just a perf with 1-2 vocalist showoffs feat the rest... i know (you know) i always have eyes/ears for the best. ;) (or rather...the underdogs...but they most often turn out the best anyway so it's the same thing lol)

2. Showtime

i thought oh little girl would be the cutesy one at first...but this end up being more cutesy or rather, more kiddy vibe...lmao. tbh, when i first heard the snippet...i already know i won't like this song...but some kids i like are in this team. so i know i'd root for this team too...at first i thought it's gonna be a highlighted one cuz there's samuel n he's popular. but...i feel that his popularity kinda went down a little...hmm...i wonder if it's cuz he's not among mnet's chosen ones...or they're trying to make him into underdog story by making him drop first n climb back up...strangely...i liked him a little more after he dropped than when he's always on top. well, i still don't care much for him n think of him as overrated. wasn't yoon jiseong supposed to be center though? how come it didn't look like it or did they changed center? ok i just noticed they changed center to samuel n i must say he did fit well as the center here...how come jiseong had such tiny parts tho when he's not even center? i'm so upset by this.....cuz he has really nice voice but the part where he n kim sanggyun fought for microphone is definitely a highlight...clever choreo n i love how they use their one prop the standing mic. n the part where he got ignored when they're all dancing together n ignored him...he's definitely a gimmick king n they're making huge mistake if they leave him out from top11...personality, funny n good vocals...complete package for me. for kim sanggyun this perf is like another side to show, after overly cutesy n badass..this is like somewhere in the middle though he didn't look too comfortable...probly the vibe here is too kiddy for his liking? but at least you can see he tried fitting in n did well enough...overall i think he's fortunate to have managed to show various sides in this show...that's not an easy feat...some people couldn't even get one opportunity so i'm happy for him n he's the only rapper here so yay...i never get the need to hav so many rappers(wait..i just realized yoon jiseong was also supposedly a rapper here...uhhh...with one words each time...how is that considered a rap part?). this team feel so young tho...bcuz of lee woojin n kim samuel that channeled their inner kiddies n made for dominant vibe for the perf n to add too, jiseong who has loud n old but with kiddy kinda image.... that it's almost like school talent show....err...oh lee woojin...why did it took you so long to stop being main vocalist? this is making me sad for all the 'if only'...i kinda wished park woodam pulled his highnote higher for bigger impact...n no taehyun...i never paid much attention despite all the hype...but he sounds good.

overall...i enjoyed this more than i thought i would...not too much on the song... but yeah...the perf turned out well though still bitter for lack of yoon jiseong...strangely...now they're also an underdog team. despite having some popular kids.

3. 열어줘

when i first heard this song's snippet's..the chorus...in the prev ep...i already like it n i was afraid it'd be my fav, considering there were popular kids in there...but the actual perf...i guess...it was weaker than my expectation...kang dongho did really well as main vocalist...he totally hardcarried this perf...impressive vocals...i like that it didn't sound like he hold back unlike in playing with fire...from this perf,...i still don't get the hype with daniel kang...he didn't sound that outstanding despite having major parts n having chances to show something more..felt like he wasted the opportunity someone else could've worked good on...n i don't like his lack of expression here(tho i guess most peeps would consider it 'y'? whatever, that's not what i call y... just bored/pissed off...seeing the contrast of majority's opinion from mine...it's like we're watching two diff perfs...or i'm a hater of the kid or they're just freaking oppar biased or they just think emotionless=yyy or my standard is just too high lol....so many possibilities...) , it kinda takes away the energy...like he's pissed off abt something n unprofessionally show it onstage......kim yongguk n takada kenta kinda disappointed me as well for how much hype they have...their parts were kinda flat...idk if it's them or their parts but at least i like takada kenta's expressions, at least you can see he actually put effort...i was actually more impressed with yoo seonho, n joo haknyeon...the kids i always see bashed for being overrated...despite their little parts...they did well imo, i kinda want to see joo hak nyeon getting more parts to see whether he'd bring as much energy he did with his short lines bcuz some of them sounded n looked kinda lifeless here but he didn't...im young min sounded good too n brought much needed energy that kang dongho provided almost all by himself...frankly, even though i feel nuest kids get it too easy in the show just by being among mnet's chosen ones...kang dongho earns his top spot...bcuz he's just really good. and i really love their dance part where they just fell flat onto the floor. that's cool. but other than that part the dance is kinda messy n i don't like how one part kim yongguk, their center just got to the center for a bit only to be covered up by two members...dongho n daniel i think...like....whuuut? idk...the formations look messy to me...n they had the most elaborate setting n props with those bed, window, curtain n so on...n none being made used in the perf...just as backdrop...kinda felt wasted props...they could have one member staerted singing sitting on the bed or sth...at least...i mean the other team could even made so much more of just one standing mic as prop....

Overall, i like the song, especially the chorus...but...it could've been much better...kinda weak execution on vocals other than main vocalist. tbh...this looks kinda sloppy compared to others...despite so much favoritism on them as you can see from their props n the atmosphere made for them...

4. Oh Little Girl

this is cutesy, but not as kiddy as Showtime...but how come the outfits...errr...anyway, quite some popular kids in this team(ok, that's not creative...all teams other than I Know You Know have their share of popular kids) not much to say...the song is just...ok i guess....but didn't leave much impression. finally...lee geonhee is not main vocals...and this is probly first time i actually like his singing in perf...oh if only....but he totally reenacted jeong dongsu's legendary gesture in amazing kiss. ...haa...i noticed that. is that a copy or a tribute? what happen to jung sewoon's highnote though? either it's cut or did he cut it short or what? it's kinda weird...n took away points for me...seemed like they changed center from park jihoon to choi minki....which i think is really suitable change..idk park ji hoon didn't stand out to me even with his unfortunate/tragic outfits...choi minki did...even when in replay...i thought he was the center when it was justin...and overall the team had similar vocal colour/characteristics so i appreciate it when bae jinyoung provided a stronger tone to add some much needed contrast/textures to the team imo...their stage setting n styling overall looked very unfortunate...

overall...okay. not bad. just didn't leave me with much impression.

5. Never

uhh...from the first i heard the snippet...i know i won't like this song. n i don't like it. i don't find it thaaat bad...it's catchy in that typical catchy way kinda....just...nothing special to me...overhyped. the song is mostly....hwang minhyun + kim jaehwan highnotes feat the rest...and i'm starting to feel tired by kim jaehwan highnotes...i already know he's good at that...any other new tricks? even though i did say for main vocalist...high note is important...but that's not all that's needed. maybe bcuz he's always main vocalist...he only ever showed one side to him, vocally n i find it....boring...kinda tired? i need more range, dimention, depth. there's also too much of the rap voices i don't really like...those i refer to as fake-deep voice...maybe they're not fake but sound fake...but i won't point out names...too many rappers here anyway...

overall...hmm..yeah...idk....
