appearance + style: jungsik takes great care in his appearance to make sure that not even a hair is out of place. his smooth and blemish free skin is the result of a massive amount of skin care products and a carefully crafted schedule on when they're used. he's fairly tall and just as fairly built with muscle from his many years of dancing, and careful diet and excerise to keep himself well maintained.

his style is just as carefully taken care of as his skincare and body matianence. jungsik will not allow himself to leave the dorm without looking his absolute best, even though honestly speaking no one really cares at all about it, but him.

Lee jungsik
"I don't understand why I'm being shoved into the background. I deserve to be up front."
character blurb

lee Jungsik was always a dreamer. he dreamed of spotlights and fame, because well who wouldn't? why be ordinary when one could be extraodrinary. the only problem was that besides his pretty face, jungsik didn't have many skills that he could promote. he could sing alright, but it wasn't anything to write home about. he's been doing contemporary dance since he was small, his mother's idea, but when the trend was hip-hop and other cooler styles jungsik was the odd man out. Rejection after Rejection Jungsik was ready to give up and decided just one more time he would try. helix was a literal shot in the dark, since he couldn't act, and wasn't a ballad singer, but maybe just maybe something would work. so when they accepted him he was estactic, and one year later when he debuted in an actual group his heart soared. he can't lie when he was the one getting actual schedules he was happy. even though their popularity as a whole was down which did hurt, he was still doing something and getting his name out there. however when their popularity got a drastic upgrade, he saw clearly that he was being pushed into the background, and it pissed him off. now he can barely look at s without getting upset, and with a big decision ahead of them who know what jungsik will do.

personality

traits: compassionate, hardworking, friendly, enjoys challenges, Self-Critical, Artificial, (after the fame) aloof, Petty, Moody, Resentful, Selfish, guilty

Jungsik started out as a very compassionate and friendly person. he enjoyed being around people and loved it when they were happy. if there were ever a need to have someone listen to your problems or to just let out a rant? then he's the guy to go to. it wouldn't matter what had to be said, and afterwards he'd just ask if the person feels better and then get up and act as if nothing had happened. He was always there when needed, and never had anything but a smile on his face when talking to others. so it was easy for him to make friends. his friendly nature made it easy for others to approach him. he had no problem being in a room ful of people and socializing with everyone and getting along with them all for the most part. he enjoyed the company of others, even craved the attention that they gave him. he was just the nice guy next door who was always there to lend a helping hand.

He was also extremely hardworking, he knew what he wasn't good at and how he needed to improve himself, and did so without having to be told twice. He wanted this life and well, he was going to make damn sure that he was going to see it through to the bitter end. Jungsik refuses to be the one that slows people down and therefore works even harder to make sure that he's not the one that ends up making the mistake. He also loves a good challenge the more difficult it is the more satisfied he is when he overcomes it. life would be too boring if it weren't a little bit challenging, and one never knows how much they've improved without having a few roadblocks in the way that need to be cleared out. Hardwork pays off and when he can finish one of his goals with ease it just proves to him that he's doing the right thing and just needs to keep up with it and never lose himself.

However Jungsik is hardest on himself and is crazy self-critical. anything that you can say to him, it's probably already crossed his mind and he has been beating himself up about it ever since he figured it out. Messed up a dance move? he'll practice extra, and probably through dinner or breakfast because it's what he deserves for his mistake. Says something slightly mean? He'll carry it with him and worry about it for the next several months apologizng for it the same amount of time. He's harder on himself than anyone else, well at least when it's his fault. Even though jungsik is a nice guy, he comes across as artificial and fake, which was a little off putting. no one can really tell if he's being genuinely nice, or if he's doing it to just get something out of them. his comments always seem so basic and scripted as if he had to write them down, and no one really knows what he's really like or if he's going to end up cracking by keeping everything bottled up until he just can't hold it in any longer.

Nowadays Jungsik has become aloof and quite distant from the members, only talking to them if it's absolutely necessary or if he knows that someone is watching. he will barely even look at them let alone greet them when they pass by one another. he's suppressed what good feelings he's had toward them and now its strictly about work and nothing else. If he gets a call or a text he'll ignore it, or respond with a one word answer. He tries to hide it in public but it's obvious that he's real stiff around them all. He just can't help but be resentful for everything that's happened. He's so bitter and aggitated by his decrease in popularity, that he just can't help but take it out on the others. it's their fault afterall. Of course he can't just tell them what's his problem, so he's resorted to ignoring them and barely acknowledging their presence.

Jungsik has also become quite petty. something as trivial as not putting a towel in the hamper can set him off into a small fit of rage and an entire lecture about a stupid towel. is he projecting? one hundred percent but he really can't help it. it can be the smallest thing but it'll bother him until no end and someone usually ends up on the recieving end no matter who's actually at fault. Does he feel bad afterwards? a little bit, even he knows that yelling at the youngest for a small mistep doesn't do anything but make himself feel like an , but he can't bring himself to stop. He's also become incrediably moody, no more is the considerate and kind guy, and welcome the new jungsik who's emotions change on the flip of a coin. one moment he's almost like his old self, and then the next he's yelling at someone for no apparent reason than just because, and then just switch again like nothing had happened.

His selfish actions know no bounds as well now. He's decided that if everyone else wants to be selfish why should he bother with everyone else then? he'll only look out for himself and pushes everything else out of his mind, scared that if he did those deep feelings of guilt will resurface. he shouldn't care about them or the blasted company so anyone associated with it is nothing to him. people already think that he's too self-centered for his own good so why not prove them right? However that nagging feeling hasn't left the back of his mind since he first started acting this way because of his jealousy. even worse he sees what he's done to the people who are supposed to be the ones closest to him and hates himself for doing that to them. they didn't ask for it and it's not their fault that he's so unpopular, but on the other hand he can't help but blame them for being so much better than him and his jealousy stops him from apologizing, and in turn makes jungsik hate himself just a bit more each time.

background

Lee Jungsik was born into an average wealthy family with a stay at home mother, and a father who worked as an insurance agent. Both of his parents were very loving but made him work for what he wanted. if there was a new video game coming out he had to get all of his chores done for the week, without complaining before he was finally given money to buy what he wanted. When he was around the age of five, his mother had decided to put him into dance lessons, as a way for him to get into the arts, piano already tried and failed. at first jungsik thought it was too girly he wanted to do something cooler, but he learned to enjoy and love it. However there was one comment that remained the same while he was growing up that did end up going to his head quite a bit. "You're such a good looking boy~" Hearing it again and again he actually started to believe it, and well he thought about what he could do with this face of his, and how to look cool just like he wanted, too bad he didn't have a clue on how to go about it. that was until he figured, like many others, that he could always just become an idol. so what if he didn't have the skills that many have when auditioning, he's heard plenty of stories of how people were just casted on the street because of their face, and well he could dance and his singing wasn't awful so he had to have it in the bag.

Boy did Jungsik get a reality check after his first audition and rejection from SM ENtertainment. They gave him some good advice, but it really didn't stick as Jungsik just moved on to the next, and the next, and the next, until he had run out of companies and determination. HE was seriously ready to give up, his parents had already told him to, like any other parent they wanted him to pick a stable occupation so that he could grow up and not have to worry about money or be too stressed out. his friends had also told him to give up, not before they laughed and for doing something half-assed and on a whim. it wasn't he had carefully decided, a complete lie, and now he was even more determined to prove them that he could do it despite not being great in any one particular field, the actual truth. that stubborness had paid off, or did it, in some way when he had heard about Helix from another idol hopeful and that though they were rather small they had many good actors and balland singers, Jungsik was neither of those, however he was hopeful that maybe they would give him a chance.it was a shot in the dark, and his last, after graduating high school at eighteen it was this or in the fall he was going to have to do what his parents wanted and go to college majoring in something boring and that he didn't want. So when he was accepted it was an amazing feeling, and he was willing to do whatever it took to debut.

And did he have to put his money where his mouth was. His year of training was hell, practice led into more practice without so much as a break inbetween and he had to work twice as hard. jungsik could hold his own when it came to dancing, and had an easier time than others picking up choreography, singing was another story. He wasn't the best and honestly sometimes it took everyone to keep their mouth shut on how he managed to be accepted in the first place, but no one could deny his hard work and the long hours he practiced afterwards and it was slowly paying off. he did have a lot of gratitude towards a girl who he had come to know whenever he stopped by his favorite bookstore. Mina was a girl who was about his age and easily jungsik's best friend in seoul. she worked at the bookstore full time and would usually take her break to talk to him and try to brighten his day since he always came in down in the dumps. he couldn't admit it but she was one of the main reasons that kept her going. she was down to earth and knew just when he needed encouragement, or when he needed to be slapped back into reality, which she would happily do, and they kept in contact often, usually texting since they were both too busy to actually talk on the phone. So when he was told that he was going to debut in this boy group mina was the first person he told. He was so excited, and she was excited for him even going as far to give him a free book on the house, a one time only deal of course. he was ready to prove himself to his parents, school friends, and the world that he was here to stay.

Too bad it didn't turn out that way and the company he chose didn't actually have a clue on how to manage a group properly. Though he couldn't lie and say he was unhappy during that time because he did get a couple of cf's, one photoshoot, and a variety show appearance. He worked hard on each and every one of the gigs he was given, but what he didn't realize was that on that one variety show appearance, would be the reason he'd be so unpopular in the end. it wasn't that he was rude, or said something wrong. he said all the right things, and was super polite, which ended up being the problem. he was too cookie cutter, instead of being himself Jungsik was being what he thought an idol should be. Fans saw him as someone who was fake, and was hiding something because he was being too perfect with his answers. When he stopped getting schedules he didn't think much of it at first, and just put all of his time back into practicing, hoping for another chance. when the company had turned their back on them and they had banded together writing, producing, and creating their own choreography, though it was a low point, Jungsik loved how close they were and it really seemed like they were a team working hard toward the same goal while still supporting one another. When that song flopped, and then the deserter left them, it was a crisis for the morale of the group. They were ready to give up but when Chanhee had scored that role in the drama and the success of Eternity the group was back on the rise, but Jungsik's personality and overall happiness was dropping.

He wanted to be grateful towards chanhee, and he was sincerely, but he also couldn't stand that while all the other member's schedules were being packed with solo activities and appearances Jungsik was being forgotten, and he couldn't help but start to resent the others for it. It wasn't their fault and he knew it, he also knew that through all the trouble and hardships they have all been through it was only fair that they've earned it. but he couldn't bring himself to be happy for them and instead started to distance himself from them, in fear of having his jealously exposed or he'd end up hurting the wrong member. he couldn't forgive himself if he had hurt the optimist, that kid hasn't done anything wrong. He definitely resented chanhee, since he was the one who intitially took away his chances at being popular, and the scandalous, because although he was seriously disliked by the public he was still popular, and in Jungsik's mind any publicity was good publicity. during this time he actually had pushed himself into a depression. his conflicting emotions of blaming those who he had considered family at one point for something that was his fault, all while still trying to justify himself for blaming them was creating a lot of problems for himself. but he wasn't just pushing the guys away from him, but also the staff in the company, because they were also to blame somehow even if he chose this company as much as they did, and mina, the one person who he didn't want to. She's a perceptive girl and after talking and being close to him for the past three and a half years it was easy to notice the change in him and she wanted no part of it. Mina had given him an ultimatium, get over himself or never talk to her again. Needless to say he couldn't prove it by making up and apologizing with his groupmates, so she left following through with her threat.

That departure cut him deeper than he orginally had thought would. He wanted to be better, but it only made him worse and he become even more distant, to the point where he couldn't hide the awkwardness between him and everyone else, making the fans wonder about what was going on behind the scenes. he hid it the best he could, but his mood took a turn for the worst and he became even more aggitated and difficult to be around. Now with the contracts about to be up it's unsure on whether junsik will leave or will have to be kicked out by everyone else for the good of the group. he feels terrible and wants to fix it but after four years of behaving like this he's not sure how to be himself again.

Interview

as everyone knows, aeon has had quite the miraculous success story! it is nothing if not inspiring. when you debut, did you ever guess that you would become so popular?

"Well it's what everyone dreams for when pursuing this career isn't it? I knew one day all of our hard work would pull off and I couldn't be happier about it."

'Of course I could be much happier if I wasn't shoved into the background and out of the spotlight. but that doesn't matter. for the good of the team.'

Ah but the road wasn't easy, was it? what was it like for you when your group had nothing?

I blink a little and give a smile, though even i could tell that it was fake. "We didn't have nothing. sure it was really hard out there, but tell me what group hasn't had their hardships in the beginning. what's important is that we worked through it and got above it all."

there were rumors that some of you got part time jobs or studied or trained all day in the hopes of getting better. how did you spend the time when you had hardly any schedules at all?

"I was lucky enough to pick up a few jobs, but i spent any and all of my free time training. the others are quite amazing so it was very important that i kept up my part of the bargain."

thankfully everything turned around in the end. how did you feel about your sudden increase in popularity?

'what increase of popularity? if anything i withered away into nothing.'
I gave another small smile, knowing that there was no way he could ever say that. "It was as if a ray of light through a storm cloud you know? Everything that we've done as a team was showing results. I couldn't be happier, and am grateful for it really."
'Well at least everyone else is grateful for it. lucky them.'

was it difficult to adjust for you? so suddenly going from almost unknown to have a mass of fans?

'Again there was no adjustment, and they know it I really wish they would shut up about the popularity already.'
I let out a small laugh and shake my head a bit. "oh no it wasn't an adjustment at all really, and well we love all of our fans so gaining more is icing on the top of this amazing cake."

of course that popularity opened doors for you too. did you end up doing any solo work or branching out into other areas? or did you stay focused on the group?

I resisted the urge to grimance at this particular question and keep that smile plastered on my face, praying and hoping that the interviewer didn't see through it. "Me? I focused my time and energy into the group. the others have their own solo activities so make sure you look out of them okay?"
'I seriously want to puke right now. is this damn interview over? I'm so over these dumb questions. alway for the good of the group though, even if it kills me in the end. we can't have anything that ruins it. i won't go back to those times not agian.'

how do you feel about the restof the group? did your shared harships bring you closer or did fame push you away from them?

"I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for them, and we've helped each other through all of these years so it's safe to say that we're closer than we could have imagined."
'Even if Chanhee stabbed me in the back and took away what little chance of popularity I had left. Hell even the Scandalous is more popular than me, and that's after all the bull he caused. how can he still be more popular than me?'

thank you so much for this candid inerview. do you have any last words for your fans?

I smile, the first real genuine since the start of this interview. "thank you so much for everything, your support is what keeps us going and excited to keep showing you all new and improved versions of ourselves. we wouldn't even be here without it so seriously thank you all for everything."

relationships

father : lee sangmin : 58 : insurance agent

sangmin is a hardworking man who loves his job and would be more than happy to work overtime, but is still a family man through and through, and if he couldn't make it home would make sure that he would call. he's a blunt man and though he meant well, only wanting the best for his family his words sometimes came across harsh, and caused some strife with his wife and son.

Jungsik got along with his father pretty well when he was younger, but as the time went by they slowly started to grow further and further apart. sangmin was jungsik's role model for the longest time. he watched his father work hard, but still find time for him and his mother, when he would notice that some of his friends didn't have that luxury. but when he told him about his goal and his father, had laughed thinking it was a joke did something to jungsik, and now he can't seem to talk to his father, since he's sure that he'll say "I told you so" and "do you regret not going to college?" and jungsik can't bring himself to face the music, no matter how bad things get.

mother : lee boyoung : 54 : housewife

Boyoung is a gentle woman who hardly complained about anything, just happy to have such a great family. however she knows how to be assertive when she has to be, and even now doesn't have a problem making her opinion known when it counts. she's not someone who is overly emotional and tends to keep any negative feelings to herself, as to not affect those around her.

Jungsik's relationship with his mom is about the same as it is with his father, except that she was a little nicer about voicing how she didn't like how he had chosen to live is life. she cotinues to try to get her son to talk to both of them, going as far as travelling to seoul and waiting outside the company in hopes of seeing him. again jungsik feels so bad that he didn't make it in the way that he had wanted, and cannot see his family until he does, and will avoid his mom at all costs in order not to have to deal with the awkward conversation that is going to follow.

TRivia

- Feels extremely bad about how he's been acting towards Chanhee. he knows that the other guy is there for him and would do just about anything to help him out, but even knowing that he can't help himself from acting like an to him just because though he doesn't want to he 100% blames chanhee for making him way less popular.

- Has a pretty terrible drinking problem, and will always have at least two-four drinks a night before allowing himself to go to bed. because of this he's gained a pretty big tolerance to it so it takes a lot to actually get him drunk, and when he does reach that point he becomes silent and refuses to talk to anyone.

- The one member who jungsik is probably closest to would be the optimist, and if he's in one of his mood's he'll try to avoid him as much as possible as to not yell at him out of his own anger.

- always carries a book with him and is an avid reader, of many genres. he does have a secret stash of self help books, and books about how to control his emotions, but those ones he only reads when no one else is around to see them.

- is glued to his phone, constantly checking the internet about himself, to see if maybe just maybe something good is said about him, and usually ends up shoving it into his bag when he doesn't see anything that he likes or wants.

- doesn't talk to his parents at all. he wants to, they raised him and gave him a good life, but he can't bring himself to do it out of embarrassement, and is scared of what they might say to him. whenever they call he ignores it, and usually will end up drinking more that particular night as a way to drown out his guilt.

- isn't nearly as nice as he tries to seem. which was the reason why his popularity dwindled. his overly kind mask made him seem too fake and turned people away from him. even more so when the others were showing more of their own personalities while jungsik was still trying to be the 'perfect idol'

- has a hard time in interviews, mostly when he's asked personal questions that he doesn't know how to answer, which only makes him look worse, as if he can't keep his lies straight.

- seriously allergic to bees

- has a shopping addiction. he tends to buy things that aren't needed or things that he never ends up using and has a lot of clothes that still has the tags on them. he totally understands why some people compulsively shop, it's euphoric.

- is extremely active, and is always going to the gym or going jogging. any way to get some exercise in for the day.

- Has a fear of blood, his own included, and will faint if he sees any. which means that horror movies are out of the question. it doesn't matter that he knows its fake he'll still faint, or become very short of breath and pale.

- he really hates how he's become, and wants to change, but the selfishness in him also makes it so that he doesn't want to. why should he just be happy to focus on the group and not get to do his own thing? then immediately regret why he's thinking like this when these guys didn't do anything to deserve it, and the then process repeats itself. multiple times a day.

- is very emotionally unstable, though he does his best to hide it from everyone, and plays the part of the supportive and happy idol.

goals for the future

Jungsik doesn't have a freaking clue what he should be doing now. he still feels resentment towards the members, no matter how bad he does feel about it, and can't really see himself continuing on as a part of AEON. However he also doesn't have a clue on what he would do if he left. he's already been rejected by several other companies, and have no idea who would be willing to take him, its not like he has the acting ability that Chanhee, or the vocals and composing skills that seunghoon does. literally all he has is his face and well becoming a model doesn't really suit him. HE could always become a dance instructor, the thought has crossed his mind, but that's just as risky as staying in the entertainment industry. What he is sure about though is that he wants mina back into his life and is willing to do what he should have done years ago to get her back.

personality:

Mina is a decisive individual, she knows what she wants, when she wants it and how she's going to get it. SHe doesn't stray from the path and if something gets in her way she'd most likely kick it out of her way and keep on struting her stuff without so much as batting an eyelash at it. She is also crazy stubborn, tying into following her path without much other thought, and has no problem throwing someone to the curb if need be. She can come off as abrasive and aggressive from time to time because of this and tends to have others stay out of her way, which works just fine for herself, or think that she's just this rude girl who isn't anything more than someone who doesn't give a crap about other people, even though it's the complete opposite.

SHe's supportive but in an honest kind of a way if you were the one who screwed up she'll let you know and tell you straight up every little thing that was done wrongly. mina is blunt and honestly doesn't know how to sugar coat things, so she's sometimes harsh in her critcs but she means well and if you ask her then you're liable for whatever she has to say to you. Suprisingly though she's quite sensitve to those who are close to her and doesn't like it when they're upset. she doesn't have a problem making herself look like a fool to cheer up her friends and family. because if they're happy then she's happy and that's really all one can ask for in life.

love story:

Mina and Jungsik first met while he was a trainee at helix. he went into the bookstore nearby the company to read, and essentially relax a bit due to all the stress. He could never actually buy the books he read, since he was completely broke but he enjoyed the atmosphere, and the amusing girl with bright red short hair who worked there. how they ended up talking was that mina had seen this same guy sit in one of their chairs for an hour at a time every few days or so read, put the book back and leave only to come back and pick up the same book and repeat the process, and it irritated her. she had walked over hands on her hips looking down at the stranger clear and then opened . "seriously why don't you just buy the damn book already" Jungsik was suprised but amused by the outburst and set the book down next to him looking up smiling at the girl who was not at all thrilled with the reaction. "That's no way to talk to a customers." "Customers buy the merchandise not just read it and put it back. you don't count." "Touche. but see i don't have any money so i can't buy the book but i like being here." "why here?" "Well you're here." Mina didn't take too much to the compliment and ended up hitting him without thinking, but that was how their friendship had started out, no matter how strange it ended up being.

They talked a lot after that. Jungsik told her about his trainee life, and mina talked to him about how she wanted to own her own bookstore and was working here to save money for it. they had a lot more in common than either had orginally thought they would and their friendship only blossomed from there. When aeon had hit hard times it wasn't a secret and mina was there to send him cheesy encouraging quotes, or mild and playful threats of what she would do if he ended up giving up like a baby. those texts helped get jungsik up each morning, and really if he was being honest though they were bad times for the group, jungsik wasn't actually unhappy during them. no it wasn't until they lost a groupmate and gained so many more fans that life got harder for him and he started to change. Mina tried to deal with it she really did, it was obvious that both of them had feelings for one another, but she did not have feelings for the man that her best friend was turning into and couldn't stand to stay next to him to see things go from bad to worse. she had done that one other time and it only left with an even more intense heartache and she was not going to do it again. so she had given jungsik two choices, get over his bitter jealousy and enjoy this time with her and his groupmates, or she was going to leave and was not going to come back for him.

Jungsik tried to change back he really did, he wanted mina to stay in his life, she had become a pillar that helped keep him sane, but he didn't know how to change and couldn't ask for help because he didn't want to admit that he had a problem. mina had saw that he hadn't changed, and it broke her heart she was hoping that after all these years he would have at least tried for her, she would have stayed if she had seen any kind of improvement, and she went through with her theart and transferred to another store from the same chain without saying a word. the text messages she recieved when she did were heartbreaking and she was almost going to answer back but stopped herself, since she still knew that he hadn't changed. it killed jungsik and only made his already unstable emotional status even worse. he's also ashamed to admit that it took him two years to finally decide to try and do something, he's been branching out to her ever since she had left and even walked around all bookstores in the area in hopes of finding her but one text message after two years of being ignored set it in stone. 'I told you that you had to change before I would let you back into my life. prove it to me that you have changed until then please don't contact me anymore.' He vowed that he was going to make this change, he doesn't like the person he had turned into either and was going to start with this whole contract situation and then was going to find a way to properly apologize to mina and tell her that he needs her firely sass in his life to make him truly happy.

ending:

I can't decide whether I want them to have a happy ending or not so I'll leave that to you XD

Author's note

any comments for me? I restarted his personality probably four times and i'm still not sure how i feel about it T^T but I hope you like him and let me know whatever needs fixing.

anything you'd like to see? drama and more drama. but also if at the end have jungsik finally apologize for his nasty behavior, whether he chooses to stay or not would be really nice.

password: "jealousy is just a lack of self-confidence" "Nothing is more wretched than a guilty conscious." I feel that these two quotes really explain who jungsik is.
