Tbh, I liked these performances the most because they were almost at par with each other and offered some good competition! Anyway, I won’t hold you long here so let’s get on with the review~

Super Junior’s Sorry Sorry performances by Produce 101 trainees
TEAM A
Main Vocal – Choi Dongha
Sub-vocal 1 – Kwon Hyeob
Sub-vocal 2 – Yoo Seonho
Sub-vocal 3 – Jo Yonggeun
Sub-vocal 4 – Kim Namhyung
Sub-vocal 5 – Ha Minho
VOCALS
Their ALL parts (basically, the choruses) sounded so full and I liked it – and more when the harmonies kicked in. The main vocal did a really good job at harmonizing, but I somehow noticed that he tends to shy off during his solo parts – he starts out so good and then his volume slowly decreases as it progresses, which makes his vocal power diminish, too. It would’ve been great if he was able to maintain his volume and confidently wing it xD
I liked how they started out the bridge (I honestly thought the one who jumped was the one singing at first hahaha) – his way of delivering the lines was different yet worked really well, but by the end of the “gata~” it softened out so much that it felt anticlimactic. It was already there, but again, it needed a little flare. The adlibs were also the same case.
Sub-vocal 1 (the only other person who had longer lines) was notably stable throughout the whole song, but at some parts here and there, his delivery would sound a little plain and lacked some flare in it. I do commend him for his stability that even when he looked like he was catching his breath, his breathing between lines weren’t audible at all and he was managing it really well. The other members who only had those short answer lines were stable and their enunciation was clear; a little more character and volume for those parts would add more impact to it, but nonetheless, all of them were good!
SCORE: Vocals – 38
CHOREOGRAPHY
The way they started was so clean, smooth and snappy – in short, it was a strong start (even with just the heads snapping front). During the neck movement part (during sub-vocal 1’s verse), it would’ve looked better than it already did if their outstretched hands were stiffer to highlight the cool neck movement, but that’s a tiny detail. They were really synchronized throughout the whole performance, and even if I try to slow-mo the video I would say the same thing still. Their dance break looked so organized and they ended it with a blast – that jump was a really cool addition! (But the editing was terrible – they could’ve shown a farther shot that would highlight the synchronization, it’s such a shame). The foot shuffling parts looked really cool, and the last part was one powerful dance end – the gun movement was just awesome. Also, I’ll give a special mention for Kim Namhyung, because I absolutely loved how he executes the moves.
SCORE: Choreography – 28.5
CONCEPT
First off, their outfits look a bit too dark – the dull maroon and black combination doesn’t exactly agree with the graphic stage background and the lighting (but I can’t blame them for this because it’s basically a logistical aspect which the staff could’ve improved). It’s such a shame that because of this, you can’t see their footwork really well. Disregarding the lighting set-up, their outfits look modern and smart. I like how they stare at the cameras (although they started looking tired after the dance break) with a variety of facial expressions – serious, deadpan and one over-confident one, though there were some points where their eyes lacked the spark to lure you in (what am I saying lol). I’m not sure if he’s the center, but assuming it’s Kwon Hyeob, he’s doing a great job – especially when he stared at the camera at the beginning.
SCORE: Concept – 9
IMPACT
The impact of their performance would be on their dancing aspect – their synchronization was perfect, their arrangements and formations looked really organized and symmetrical, and the dance break was really good (although the editing ). Their vocal side of the performance needed a little more power, if improved their performance would’ve been perfect. But nonetheless, it was one cool performance!
SCORE: Impact – 18.5
TEAM A’s TOTAL: 94.0
TEAM B
Main Vocal – Kim Jaehan
Sub-vocal 1 – Hwang Minhyun
Sub-vocal 2 – Kang Daniel
Sub-vocal 3 – Kwon Hyunbin
Sub-vocal 4 – Ong Seungwoo
Sub-vocal 5 – Kim Jonghyun
VOCALS
When they all sing together, they sound full (in some kind of monotonous way, but that’s how the song’s supposed to sound) and they have a lower overall tone, but once the main vocal’s harmonies came in, their choruses sound a lot better especially because he was pushing it and adding his own style in it. The main vocal’s vocals (lol) are no joke – it stands out and it’s really powerful, and he adds flavor to their overall sound with his harmonies.
They have really good and stable vocals, from start to finish. Sub-vocal 1’s voice – that smooth and cool tone – complements the main vocal’s powerful one really well and it sounds good when they sing in succession. Another good contrast in voices was when sub-vocal 3 sang after sub-vocal 2. Even the little rap snippets sounded full and good – and even though they weren’t designated with a rapper label, you could tell they had rappers.
Their bridge part sounded really good. That “sorryyy~” part tho, I wish it was prolonged for a bit more because it felt like it was abruptly cut off when he did the “ooh yeah” right away, like it left me hanging, really. I was expecting adlibs but—
SCORE: Vocals – 38.5
CHOREOGRAPHY
Their choreography was clean, but there were parts when you somehow see that the sync kind of goes off a bit (oftentimes it was Hyunbin) like some loose arms and all, but that would be nitpicking. Now looking at the overall picture, their synchronization was well highlighted in their choruses, especially when they start it with the jumps. Also, I really like the neck movement here – the rest of the body stiff except the neck, and it looked really good! For the dance break, I could say that theirs was edited way better than the first group (blame mnet). They changed up the choreography to having somewhat a center dance soloist (but it wasn’t really solo, it just looked like that ish), the effect looks great – the detailed arm and leg movements made it look superb!
SCORE: Choreography – 28.5
CONCEPT
The suits automatically gave me SuJu feels, and it looked better with the stage background, because you could see them stark clear (idk if they were given better lighting or what, but that’s just the set-up). I like how they had this uniform appeal – they had different facial expressions ofc, but they were able to give off a group vibe with that and it was cool. Ong Seungwoo did a great job as the center, too – he looks really confident and his facial expressions were really good.
SCORE: Concept – 9.5
IMPACT
I would say that this performance memorable because of two things: (1) the main vocal did a splendid job, and (2) the dance break. I don’t really have much to say, but they certainly looked like the real deal – they looked very much like a long-debuted group.
SCORE: Impact – 19
TEAM B’s TOTAL: 95.5
RECAP: Team A garnered a total score of 94.0, while Team B got a total of 95.5.
SEUL’s JUDGMENT: TEAM B WINS!
Now that’s why I call a close fight! These two teams probably got the highest scores from me, in my whole review series so far, and I really loved them both! And to be honest, I’ve been excited to make this review for days now but I decided to do it last because—just because hahaha.
Anyway, episode 5 was aired yesterday and tho I haven’t really watched it (eng subs where art thou?), I’ve done some reading and I can’t believe the first elimination already happened. It just saddens me because some of the notable ones, especially in their team battle performances got eliminated (some of my favorites too). I do hope we’d be seeing them in the real screen soon, tho.
This is my last review (for now) and I’ll be reviewing again soon when I find something to review. Sooo, for the last time, what do you think of the performances?
This has been Seul, and now she's a sleepyhead, signing off.
