「 SEUL THE SLEUTH 」Do you hear me? Pick me pick me: a Produce 101 S2 Review (Infinite's Be Mine performances)
I FORGOT TO TAKE DOWN NOTES.
So hello everyone! It’s Seul (again), and this is my second to the last review for Produce 101 performances for their Team Battle (Episodes 3 and 4) with Infinite’s Be Mine! I’m not quite sure where we are going because I keep forgetting to take down notes while watching the performances so this review may not be as detailed as the previous ones hahaha. Let’s enjoy the performances, shall we?

Infinite’s Be Mine performances by Produce 101 trainees
TEAM A
Main Vocal – Yoo Hwiseung
Sub-vocal 1 – Kim Chan
Sub-vocal 2 – Choi Hwisoo
Sub-vocal 3 – Lee Jihan
Rapper 1 – Choi Jaewoo
Rapper 2 – Kim Yehyun
VOCALS
From start to end, all the vocalists were impressively stable and had similar vocal tones that made their chorus sound really full and clean. They chose their main vocal well – he had a powerful distinct voice that adds support for the choruses and his high notes and adlibs were clean (although I wish his facial expression while doing the high note was less tense). The rappers were good as well, though at some points I felt a lack of power and some unique distinction from the other parts of the song, but nonetheless it was good. Props to them for changing the “can you hear me” to “pick me, pick me” because I honestly did not expect that and it was a nice change.
SCORE: Vocals – 38.5
CHOREOGRAPHY
Because this is Infinite’s song, I had higher expectations for their choreography and was really anticipating some smooth snappy movements from them. They did okay, but there were some parts – especially when a group shot is shown, where they were not really that synchronized and a little more emphasis on the hand movements would’ve created greater impact. For the dance break, there were some parts that looked half-heartedly executed (it just looked like that to me for some reason) and a little messy here and there.
SCORE: Choreography – 26.5
CONCEPT
I’m not really sure how to judge the concept this time, but I must say that the white outfits looked great and smart on stage. Most of the time, they had stoic and serious facial expressions so I actually anticipated for some more towards the end and unfortunately, got none; but I guess they were going for that as a theme so I can’t judge them for not meeting my expectations xD
SCORE: Concept – 8
IMPACT
As I have mentioned earlier, the dance is basically the highlight of the performance and a little more synchronized and snappy movements from them would’ve created greater impact. But, that “pick me, pick me” part really got caught my attention and for me, it’s the most memorable part of their performance.
SCORE: Impact – 18.5
TEAM A’s TOTAL: 91.5
TEAM B
Main Vocal – Lee Woojin
Sub-vocal 1 – Kim Donghyun
Sub-vocal 2 – Jung Sewoon
Sub-vocal 3 – Park Sungwoo
Rapper 1 – Im Youngmin
Rapper 2 – Lee Yoojin
Rapper 3 – Takada Kenta
VOCALS
The vocalists had different vocal colors/tones – smooth, clean, mature and young – and they were all so stable and consistent until the end. I like how there was a variety in their voices which made their chorus sound different but still full – like you could hear their distinct voices but they also blended together really well (even with minimal harmonies). The variety was especially highlighted when Sub-vocal 3 who was mature-sounding was followed by the main vocal who sounded young and fresh. The high note and adlibs were clean, there were some parts where I felt like he cut it off half a second earlier, but that’s just a tiny detail. The rappers were good and I definitely feel the rapper vibe in the delivery.
SCORE: Vocals – 37
CHOREOGRAPHY
The start was so good and they were in sync – it could definitely get your attention. Their choruses were smooth and snappy (which was really satisfying) though there were some half-second moments when one moves earlier or later than others, but that’s just a small detail. I would say one of their most memorable parts is the “do you hear me” choreo because it had the right amount of smoothness, and in addition to that, the element of cuteness. Also, the dance break was so good but there were times when they looked like they were crowding too much, but aside from that, it was lit!
SCORE: Choreography – 28.5
CONCEPT
First and foremost, their outfits remind me of drummer boys in a marching band (I’m really weird, but that’s the first thing I thought of xD). So this group basically had the oldest and youngest trainees as members, but I like how they kind of went for an in-between range for their theme – like there were some parts were it looked mature and some parts that looked youthful. They maintained the balance well.
SCORE: Concept – 8.5
IMPACT
They got the right amount of smooth and snappy in their dance which really satisfied my anticipation for the choreography, and to mention: their dance break was really good! The dance itself had a great impact to me and their performance was fun to watch.
SCORE: Impact – 19
TEAM B’s TOTAL: 93.0
RECAP: Team A got a total score of 91.5, and Team B got 93.0.
SEUL’s JUDGMENT: TEAM B WINS!
For some reason, I don’t really have a lot to say to both their performances – both teams were really good and I enjoyed watching their performances that I forgot to take down notes hahahaha. But I still have one more review to make before the first part of this series ends, so see ya there!
So, what do you think of the performances?
