♛KINGDOM — DRAGON PRINCESS
do you hear that? those are my dragons.
you mess with me, you mess with my dragons.
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
+Noble, Humble, Brave.
-Selfless, Doubtful of Strangers, Stubborn.
PERSONALITY:
Noble: 'A princess is a noble young lady who carries herself with poise and dignity.' Her mother queen tells her this everyday for her whole life that she lived by it. Jini listens attentively that when she speaks, she carefully chooses her words. She exercises control over her emotions and makes choices based on what's right rather than on how she feels. Though she isn't perfect, she possesses a strong sense of duty that comes with knowing she's a princess.
Humble: Jini doesn’t demand or expect special treatment from others and chooses to refrain from bragging or boasting. Instead, she focuses on others and their needs.
Brave: She doesn’t wear, say, listen to, do, or become anything she doesn't believe in, because she isn't a walking cookie cutter. Jini doesn’t mirror others to find what makes her happy — she's brave enough to look within.
She is brave enough not to conform to the cliche, over-used princess way of living (what she wants, she gets) no. She's brave enough to stand up for her beliefs. She's brave enough to fight for her townspeople, nevermind that it gets to a point wherein she puts her princess title on the line just to make sure that her townspeople get the quality they deserve - even if that means having to debate with the court/council. Oh, those arrogant courtsmen.
Selfless: Yes, as cliche as this may sound, Jini is selfless. She puts others' needs before hers. Although in her defense, her brothers put her needs before theirs, so...
Doubtful: Call her untrustful - if that's ever a word - she could live with that. She just can't trust a person she just met. She's not one of those disney princessess who are gullible that leads them to their fault. Hey, it's better to protect others' privacy by keeping to yourself than sharing it with others, right?
Stubborn: Check Brave.
Jini doesn't compete with her brothers. Just the opposite, she builds them up. It's her admiration and respect that inspire her princes and compel them to greatness. When they seethat they're heroes in her eyes, it's no wonder that they're so willing to suffer for her. A hero will go through anything to keep an admiring princess by his side, after all. Right?
No one is perfect. As much as we hear this trite nugget, a lot of us do not take it to heart. (Nudge, nudge.) Jini is the type of person who does not only admit her imperfections, she applauds them. She knows where her strength lies, where she can improve and when to get the heck outta dodge and let others take the lead. Trying to be perfect at everything is inefficient, and Jini just ain’t got no time for that. She loves herself for who she is — and for who she's not.
Now, some people may think this practice is b-tchy, but in reality, it’s pretty respectful. What, you ask? Jini says no. She doesn’t overcommit and she doesn’t make false promises. She just says no. Why? Because she'd rather state the truth and decline rather than tell a white lie and then flake out later. And, she doesn’t have time for everything. No one does. The difference is, burnout simply isn’t on Jini's agenda, so she makes sure to commit to things she’ll actually enjoy instead of piling every little thing onto her calendar for the sake of other people. Truth bomb.
So important, don't miss out on this. Jini knows trying to accomplish everything alone is virtually impossible. She doesn’t feel threatened or belittled by seeking help from others. Just like a king has an entire court to assist with daily functions, she has a support group ready to go. Mental tune-ups are their chamomile teas. She values a third party bringing out the best in her. Plus, she has someone to blab to about that epic slip-up with you-know-what at the you-know-where and stuff got real.
No matter what the circumstance is, Jini strives to understand her emotions AND own up to them. There’s no hide and seek happening with her jealousy — she lets it all out. She takes the opportunity to express herself without blaming others, and confirm that she is understood. Then, she returns the favor by listening to the other side.
'A princess is a princess regardless of her attire or her circumstances.'
BACKGROUND:
Jini is a miracle to her family. Her mother, the Queen was told that she couldn't bear any more child in her womb - and if she did, for some miracle, she should not expect a girl. That's what the elders have said right after Seokjin's fifth month into the world, but the world is full of surprises and unspoken miracles; as Jini was born in the the 29th of December, year 1993. From then on, she was treated with utmost care, as if she was a fragile glass - no less than how a princess should be treated. She was spoiled all around by her parents, her brothers, the council, simply everybody. It's as if it was an unspoken rule that should be followed. No commoner should look at her straight in the eyes, they should always bow whenever she's in their sight. Formalities and all; growing up, Jini knew herself that she didn't fancy these things.
Well, it didn't take long for her to speak up about it. And what response did she get? What the princess wants, the princess gets. Her townspeople can now freely converse with her, but no matter how hard they try, they really can't address her with just 'Jini'. Some things just never change no matter how hard you try, huh.
On her eleventh birthday, a special person came to greet her - along with the many others who celebrated with her in the means of attending the party the castle has thrown for it's only princess - all grand, just how a princess should have. Minerva - that was the name of that special person. Who is she? Well, let's just say that she's one of the guardians of the Two Moons Ganymede and Callisto, along with her sister Bellona - who happens to be absent for certain reasons. And what gift could that special person bestow upon the princess other than a small golden chest, seemingly carved for a royalty only, which fits perfectly in Jini's hands. "What is this, your grace?" Jini asked as she traces her forefinger on the edges of the gold chest in her right hand. To that, Minerva only laughs modestly. "My dear, my dear. . . you have to listen to what I'm going to say, are we clear?" Minerva asked and Jini could only nod.
Where are they, you ask? Well, the moment Minerva appeared, the both of them were ushered in the princess' room for the greatest privacy they could have in the two moons' guradian's command, for what reason? Only Minerva knows of.
"You see, little flower, I have been told by...some being...that a certain princess of a certain kingdom is to have the ability to open this chest that you now hold, on her eleventh birthday. I have been circling around kingdoms, in search of the princess on her eleventh birrthday, to have the ability to open this one but as you can see, I have failed - as I am in here in front of you. Now, if you so much considers this as a gift, please, do open the chest. Once you do, what's inside could be yours - and yours alone." Minerva explained and amidst her confusion, Jini touched the opening of the chest, and not even a blink of the eye was it opened at once, making Minerva gasp both in shock and glee. Finally, the holder of the Ruby Gem is named!
"You...you, your highness!" And to her shock, Minerva kneels in front of Jini, all curtsies aside, she kneels in both her knees as her head is bowed down. No, why? She's of a higher position than I! Jini screams in her mind as she sets the chest at her bed before she struggles to lift Minerva back up - to which, Minerva stubbornly stays in place. "No, your highness, please allow me. I've been searching far too long and wide for you, the mother of dragons."
Wait, what?
First, she opens the supposedly 'hard-to-open-chest-almost-sealed-for-eternity' and now, she's supposedy the 'mother-of-dragons'?!
"No, wait...I'm just eleven. I just turned eleven. I don't understand?" Jini asked as she sat at her bed, confused thoughts swimming in her head and Minerva can't help but soften at the sight. So, she asked permission with a 'may I, your highness?' to Jini and the princess nods with no second thoughts as she pats the space next to her, indicating that Minerva sits at the spot.
Once Minerva did, she gathers the chest in her hands and shows it to the princess; inside, is a black velvet cloth covering a... Minerva gestured for Jini to uncover it and as she did, she saw a... Ruby Gem? "Hold it in your hands, your Grace." And Jini didn't need to be told twice. Once she did, the ruby gem released a blinding light, making both Jini and Minerva cover their eyes for a moment. Uncovering her eyes, Jini saw the gem, floating mid air in her raised left hand; seeing that, she looked towards Minerva with a confused and shocked look - clearly demanding for an explanation.
"Let me call your parents first, your grace, as they need to hear this as well." Minerva said.
And from there, revelations upon revalations have been laid out and once Minerva finished with the 'prophecy', in came Bellona, who's now holding into a medium sized chest.
What is it, now? More revelations?
"Your grace." Bellona kneeled down the way Minerva did before, and as Jini ushered for her to stand, Bellona walked towards her, aligning the chest at Jini's feet, before she explains. "Your grace, you can only open this using the ruby gem. If you would, please." Once again, Jini didn't need to be told twice.
And as she opened the medium sized chest using her gem, it revealed...two...wait...
"Are those dragon eggs?!"
When did she gain access to her power of fire? A day after the fiasco of revelations, that's when she struggled to gain control over her powers (Technically, she has little access to her red fire from when she was born). Her parents are assisting her along with her brothers (who were informed immediately about Jini's situation right after Minerva and Bellona left). She gained full reign over her blue and red fire powers on her sixteenth birthday - weeks prior to the fight between the Land of Bangtan and the Land of Jihor.
The 'birth' of Putim - the Protector of the Princess.
Putim is Jini's first dragon. When the war broke out between the Land of Bangtan and the Land of Jihor, it's natural that (even though as much as the princes and the king and queen opposed to it), the princess should fight alongside her brothers while her parents, the King and Queen, are ordered to secure the palace along with their knights and the council. Jini was doing so well, but it just so happened that she was very maxed out from the fight, resulting in her getting hit by an arrow, which contains venom - effectively putting her in a coma. Seokjin saw this, and he signalled for his knights to surround him while he gets Jini into their base t get checked by their doctor. Turns out, the knight and princes of Bangtan would return victorious after all.
It has been six days and Jini is still showing no signs of waking up. "What do we do..." Jinyeong paces back and forth in Jini's room while her husband, the king Seokhwan, tries to think of something, anything, who to summon? Just what exactly should they do?
*tok tok tok*
"Someone's knocking." Seokjung says and walks over from Jini's right side of the bed, towards the door. And when he opens it, he sees no one. Huh? "Who's there, Seokjung?" Seokhwan asks and Seokjung closed the door with a frown. "No one, father."
*tok tok tok*
"Mother, I think...it's from the chest..." Seokjin whispers at her stares at the chest just at the foot of Jini's bed. And although weirded out, Jinyeong opened the chest using the ruby gem (which she retrieved from Jini's dresser), and true enough, the knocking was heard from there...and Jinyeong visible paled from what she saw.
"What's wrong, my queen?" Seokhwan inquired as he walked over to his wife and Jinyeong points wordlessly at the chest.
"D-dragon...dragon" Jinyeong stuttered making both Seokjin and Seokjung walk over to see if their parents aren't hallucinating. But before even one of them could reach the chest, the dragon walked out to sniff the air (the other egg is...still an egg) as he plays with the little bouts of fire he releases that could match a, well - match. And as it continues walking, the four (King, Queen and two princes) stayed all the way back to let the dragon roam around.
And they can't explain the nervousness they felt when it reached Jini's sleeping figure. "You...you think...it could hurt her, h-hyung?" Seokjin whispers to his older brother and the latter shrugs as they all wait nervously for the little dragon's next move; what it did next, though, shocked them.
It whined.
As in, whine.
Are dragons supposed to be that...cute? And the next thing had them floored... did...d-did it j-just blow f-fire...on Jini's face?!!!!!!! If she didn't have so much for a grip, Jinyeong would have fainted. IT JUST BLEW FIRE TO J---
"Uhh."
She's awake!

✩ The strong smell of passionfruit
✩ Oppressors
HABITS
✩ Unconsciously chews on her lower lip when she's nervous.
✩ Bites her left pointer finger when in deep thought.
✩ Pinches her right earlobe when she's trying to control her anger / suppress her emotions.
✩ Kissess her brothers' cheeks as a form of greeting and/or goodbye.
✩ Blinks her right eye twice when she's hungry. (Like, Jin does that to his left eye right?)
HOBBIES
✩ Playing the piano.
✩ Painting.
✩ Reading.
✩ Roaming around town; striking up conversations with the townspeople.
✩ Horseback riding.
FUNFACTS
✩ Unlike her brothers who are closed off from the townspeople and prefer their small group of friends, Jini likes - wait- loves to fill in their gaps as she volunteers to do the outside duties such as volunteering in a local orphanage (she loves children so much - so much) or helping in a medical mission. Anything to keep her on her feet just to assist her townspeople the best that she could and this never brings a conflict between the siblings; in fact, both the princes are rather happy that they get to slack off sometimes. Hey, it's not easy being princes , you know!
✩ Jini is pretty much domesticated. This isn't a problem, like, at all! But then, when she insists to cook for their dinner, that becomes one! As her mother the queen says, "You shouldn't do any household chores! What are the chambermaids for?". Alright. Alright... It wouldn't hurt to...sneak, right?
✩ She's known as the Genie eonni/nuna of the kids from the orphanage, as well as the townsfolk. But when they talk to her in person, they still address her as 'your grace/highness'.
✩ Jini is often forced by Seokjin to wear pink, whereas Seokjung forces her to wear white. Her mother the queen? She wants her to wear dresses. The king? Well? 'Wear whatever and however you like, Jini. You're the princess and whatever you say, is law.' WTD???
✩ But she never complies. Lol. Her father, the king's words, were etched on her brain.
✩ Ah...so you want to meet Putim and Odocrus?
✩ Alright. . .
✩ (Left) Odocrus (Right) Putim.
✩ To summarize it... Odocrus is the spoiled brat for a kid dragon and Putim? Well, he likes to think he's in charge. He likes to until Jini breaks it to him gently - Jini is their mother. And who knows best? That's right. Mother knows best.
RELATIONSHIPS:
✩ Parents - Kim Seokhwan | Han Jinyeong (49 | 46) / King and Queen of the Land of Bangtan / (S) Dedicated to his duty as the king but filial at the same time (J) Optimistic, Has a bright personality and easy to be around with / closeness: 9 out of 10
interactions: Seokhwan dotes on Jini so much. She's his only girl--his rose among the thorns in his children. He treats her like the princess that she is. He's the one who showed her how a gentleman should treat a lady and that she deserves nothing short of their expected best for their one and only princess. | Jinyeong is Jini's bestfriend--really! Crushes? Come on, tell mom. Troubles in training or life in general? Mom is always willing to listen and fear none of being judged. For Jinyeong, Jini is someone...fragile. Although Jini keeps to herself and more often than not, acts as the eldest among the siblings (she's mature, alright), she knows that deep inside, Jini is a fragile girl. Her delicate flower--her beloved butterfly.
✩ Older Brothers - Kim Seokjung | Kim Seokjin (26 | 24) / Princes of the Land of Bangtan / (Seokjung) Outgoing, Bubbly but has a deep personality that manifests once in a while when called for (Seokjin) Gentle, Clingy (to Jini), flat-out honest and you could say he's a social butterfly. ONE THING THE PRINCES BOTH HAVE IN COMMON? They are both narcissists. Yup. Very. / closeness: Both are 9 out of 10.
interactions: "What are you doing? You're getting too close to Jini! Move away! Move away!" Seokjung is the usual overprotective older brother although he knows that Jini could handle herself well, as per her mature personality. But then there's his cute personality (he plays with rubber ducks, how's that?) that Jini secretly loves but doesn't tell him. Overall, he's the perfect brother in Jini's eyes. He made the statement 'I'm only one call away' a fact. | Seokjin dotes on Jini so much that it's sometimes sickening (to Jini's point of view). He's overly greasy and acts as a mother to Jini.
✩ Acquaintances - Min Yoongi (23) | Jung Hoseok (23) | Kim Namjoon (22) | Park Jimin (21) | Kim Taehyung (21) | Jeon Jungkook (19) / Noblemen / Fun noblemen in general that are the life of the party. It's either they know where the party is, or they bring the party in, whenever and wherever. / closeness: All of them are in a 7 out of 10 closeness with Jini.
interactions: "She's not that close to the Bangtan guys, her older brother's clique, because...just because?" Call is crazy - call it petty but, Jini is not that close to her brother's set of friends. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't interact with them nor does she not like their presence. Actually, the guys are all for getting the attention of Seokjin's younger sister but Jini, per her words, have more things to do than laze with her brother's friends (not in a bad way, of course). If she has free time, why not, right? But, that's the thing. She rarely gets a free time. #PrincessDuties, anyone?
✩ Bestfriends - Choi Jinri (22) | Kim Jisoo (22) / Noblewomen / (Jinri) Witty, Energetic and Excitable (Jisoo) Stubborn, Scaredy-cat and Extremely Funny / closeness: 9 out of 10.
interactions: The Holy J Trinity - that's how the people of Bangtan pertain to the three. It started off with a harmless joke from Jung Hoseok (one of the noblemen) on Seokjin's 23rd birthday party and from then on, it was passed from word to word, and there you have it. Jinri and Jisoo both have the energetic personalities clashing with Jini's quite modest one, but how would that stop them? It would never. They are so close that they could pass as blood related sisters, but for now, they could make do with being soul-sisters.
RIVAL: Tae Yeon (3027 *they're vampires, right?*) / Jealous, Possessive and Boastful / closeness: On a scale of one to ten? Uh, negative ten?
interactions: Taeyeon is the leader of the eight vampire princesses of the land of Soshi - ultimately, that makes her the rival of the supposed leader of the six princesses from the six kingdoms, right? But, who exactly is the leader? None. Upon landing his eyes on Kim Jini, though, she felt an immediate abhor. Why so? Was it because she's so pretty that she was able to hurt the ego of a beautifully-aged vampire princess? Ah... It's because of her dragon marks, is it? Ah, so she's the mother of the dragons? Great. Taeyeon has longed to be the one who summons and controls the dragons. All the more reasons to hate her besides her pretty face. So, Taeyeon decided -- she'll drink her blood to further enhance her physical attributes and get her dragons, so she'll be named the mother of dragons. Once.And.For.All.
