Jaehyun is always seen as a person who is calm and composed all the time, Lim Jaebum, anyone? She's usually serious and is always in-charge of a situation. She never panics and she's one to turn to whenever someone's in a crisis.  She speaks monotonously in a calm voice, which just adds +100 sarcasm points to her comments and often looks unaffected/unfazed over any/everything. She never seems to happy, excited, or surprised--just as much as she never appears sad, annoyed or angry. Some might even think that she looks completely emotionless. That's just because people have a hard time reading her emotions. She looks all the same when she's happy, sad, angry, annoyed, excited--all the same. She has this what you call the 'resting face' or downright looks unimpressed all the time and she doesn't care one bit or try to even change it. Another trait of hers also, is that she gets over things quickly. It's not that Jaehyun's afraid of talking; she just chooses not to. But don't mistake it as her being rude. It's just that she hates prolonging conversations as it wastes her energy. Deep down though, she'll do anything to protect her friends and her loved-ones. Despite being stoic most of the time, she secretly cares for them and their happiness. She'll do everything she can while staying in the background just to make her loveones happy.

Jaehyun enjoys quiet hobbies such as reading, painting and writing lyrics. You see, Jaehyun loves her silence. If her background of one-worded answers didn't give it away yet, then here it is. She values her silence and would send an icy glare to someone who dares disrupt it. Despite being a person with a resting face syndrome, she does show her smile or laugh to people she's extremely close with; and they value it a lot. It's a big deal to everybody for Jaehyun to even crack a smile, much more make her laugh. That sometimes, people think she's scary and get intimidated, that's until they get to know her. 
Because of her one-worded answers or less words, she tends to be blunt; having to say what she has to say in one shoot and drop than give subtle hints. What she feels of the question you ask her, you'll get an honest answer. If you're unlucky enough, she'll give you the harsh truth.
People around her most especially, know not to push her to her anger point. It happened once, and it's not a pretty scene. You see, the people who are usually calm tend to explode the moment they've reached their limit--that doesn't exempt Jaehyun. You anger her and you could consider yourself basically invisible to her.

No one is perfect. As much as we hear this trite nugget, a lot of us do not take it to heart. (Nudge, nudge.) Jaehyun is the type of person who does not only admit her imperfections, she applauds them. She knows where her strength lies, where she can improve and when to get the heck outta dodge and let others take the lead. Trying to be perfect at everything is inefficient, and Jaehyun just ain’t got no time for that. She loves herself for who she is — and for who she's not. Now, some people may think this practice is b-tchy, but in reality, it’s pretty respectful. What, you ask? Jaehyun says no. She doesn’t overcommit and she doesn’t make false promises. She just says no. Why? Because she'd rather state the truth and decline rather than tell a white lie and then flake out later. And, she doesn’t have time for everything. No one does. The difference is, burnout simply isn’t on Jaehyun's agenda, so she makes sure to commit to things she’ll actually enjoy instead of piling every little thing onto her calendar for the sake of other people. So important, don't miss out on this. she knows trying to accomplish everything alone is virtually impossible. She doesn’t feel threatened or belittled by seeking help from others. Just like a king has an entire court to assist with daily functions, she has a support group ready to go (aka her puppy oppas, Wang Puppy and Park Puppy. Mental tune-ups are their chamomile teas. No matter what the circumstance is, Jaehyun strives to understand her emotions AND own up to them. There’s no hide and seek happening with her  — she lets it all out. She takes the opportunity to express herself without blaming others, and confirm that she is understood. Then, she returns the favor by listening to the other side.

While she remains strict and business-like, she is emotional underneath her self-control. However, she tends to fear showing any sign of weakness such as crying when someone's around, confessing that she likes someone, or just plainly depend on somebody.

background. Jaehyun was born in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, from a family of four. Their parents, her older brother and her. At home, she's the cultured kid. Her brothers\ being overly attentive to her and protective around her whether in school or anywhere, and her parents giving her everything she needs, and even giving her things she doesn't need.

The two are members of the Glee Club in their schools (because they were choir members at their church since they learned how to sing when they were young). Jaehyun noticeably has good vocals but even she admits that she could never be on par with Jaebum's vocals.
(+) At six years old, Jaehyun fell inlove with her older brother Jaebum's art aside from singing which is dance, but hers is dance classified to ballet, jazz and hiphop, instead of Jaebum's b-boying; so, she asked her parents if they could enroll her to dance classes, and that they did (this was the time that she started being a member of their church' choir but she managed to balance them both quite well).

When her older brother Jaebum - then, 15 year old, went to join JYP's open audition, she, 12 years old, expressed wanting to tag along--and tagged along, she did (her parents and most specially Jaebum can't say no to their princess now, can they?). Despite her calm facade after her brother was announced as a first placer, along with a guy named Park Jinyoung, Jaehyun was truly happy for her brother and her inner self is doing celebratory flips. This was his childhood dream, now he's a step closer to reaching it, she couldn't be anymore prouder and happier.

Seeing her older brother work his of to be an idol, she immediately felt a pull within her. That's when she started asking questions to her brother about training, singing, dancing and whatnots of being a trainee, because just like him, they share the same denominator. Dancing. Just like Jaebum who has the moves; Jaehyun's passion is dancing. "Why don't you see for yourself?" Jaebum challenged her one time, and knowing Jaehyun, she doesn't back down from challenges. And from then, she auditioned to JYP Ent by herself, not even asking for help from her brother.

2011-2014; The first four years were passing by fast for Jaehyun (with her appearing in some music videos and being a backup dancer for Miss A, Wonder Girls, 2PM and GOT7), and before she knew it, her contract has expired. No, I can't let this happen. I didn't train for nothing. I NEED to debut. She thought. So with the thought in mind, she bravely resigned for another trainee contract at the same entertainment. (Not that she minded the expenses. It's not like her family's walking on eggshells.)
2014-2015; Because JYP Ent is disregarding Jaehyun's talent (except for her face - that is not a talent), paying attention to other trainees, even after working her of 24/7, she figured just after the end her contract on the long years of agonizing training in JYP Ent, that she needs to switch companies--fast. She doesn't need this neglection in any form. She's not bigheaded--but she could safely say that her talent is not one to look passed to. If she wants to debut, she has to help herself, or no one else will. 

She first became fascinated in YGE in 2013, where they shot a particular episode of WIN: Who Is Next in JYP Ent. Recalling that, she made up her mind to transfer there. Sure, there are a lot of companies she could choose from, but she can't explain how 'pulled' she felt when she rememberd the said label. It was like there was an invisible force urging her to go and try it out.

Jaeubm, along with Jinyoung's help (who are debuted as JJP and GOT7 members then), laid out the contact details of the persons Jaehyun should call if she decides to pursue YG Ent; Jaehyun, however, voiced out that she didn't need the contact numbers and just told them that she'll go personally in YGE to ask for open slots to audition.
She was told to audition two weeks later with her own materials (music to sing and dance to) and Jaebum, despite being busy, 'helped' her prepare for it. Asking for his opinion, Jinyoung suggested John Mayer's (or Beyonce's - although the instrumental was more of an acoustic, so yeah, John Mayer, female version?) "XO" to be Jaehyun's audition song and Chris Brown's "Five More Hours" to be the song Jaehyun dances to. Eventually, Jaehyun was helped by her brother and his bandmates by means of evaluating both her dance and vocal practices in the standpoint of a non-biased judge. "They'd be fools to not accept you. You're doing exeptionally well! I bet they wouldn't even think of the word 'no', I swear." Bambam said.

Jinyoung spoils Jaehyun with attention and often, material things. No, he doesn't like her that way. He just sees a younger sister in her that he needs to protect at all costs. "Hey, doll. He is the very definition of shameless, a hundred percent personification of the word. While he was an outgoing, eccentric little fluff ball of sunshine, Jaehyun was quite the opposite; the quiet and reserved princess. He was always into dangerous or stupid stuffs, or both at the same time, and Jaehyun's always there to save him before he got hurt...or get caught. Yes, the two of them were completely polar opposites but that works just fine for them. Frankly, though, Jackson is the Yugyeom to Jaehyun's Jinyoung.

interactions:  Lisa and Jaehyun aren't supposed to be rivals for one: they don't know each other on a personal level (Jaehyun only knows that Lisa and Bambam were somewhat childhood friends) and two: Lisa is not someone who picks fight with someone, just no; she may be friends with Jennie (who has a strong personality but us sweet still, nontheless) and all but she doesn't start a fight. What more for Jaehyun? She's the most level-headed and calm person in her group and she's known to 'throw zero s' to literally almost anything. So, what happened? The panelists, upon one monthly assessment, began comparing Lisa and Jaehyun. Whenever both are in a monthly assessment together, they make them go head to head on 'dance rankings' to see who'd do better than the other. At first, that doesn't bother them. They're co-trainees, afterall. Soon to be artists, at that. But through the course of time, it went through their heads that when they bump into each other on the hallways or on trainings, it's either they throw a bland, uninterested stare to each other of even a very slight rise of the brow that's almost unnoticed except for themselves. They didn't know when exactly did that staring contest started but once it started, the tension between them grew and the desire to beat the other is practically palpable.

interactions: Jaehyun and Younghee were the 'married couple' of Destiny, per se. Because both of them are comfortable with each other, they can freely tease or poke fun at the other (sensitivity still intact) that, more often than not, ends in a mini cat-dog quarrel that always tickles their members' funny. If Jaehyun could stand as the 'Mom', then maybe, just maybe, Younghee can stand as the group's 'Dad'?

— There's no doubt that Jaehyun got the judges' attentions, and soon as she finished her dance, one from the bunch (a producer named Lydia Paek, who also happens to be one of YGE's resident vocal coaches) asked her "Are you, by any chance, associated with GOT7's JB?" And Jaehyun answered with a nod of her head as she gathered some stray hairs away from her face to tuck it at the back of her right ear. "I see! I could almost hear him in you earlier! Glad I wasn't wrong with my assumptions!"
And just as her brother and his bandmates had predicted, not even 48 hours had passed since Jaehyun's audtion that they contacted her, saying that she passed the auditions and that she could start training the next day if she pleases.

Training in YG Ent was all too much to take in; from the trainers to her co-trainees. But Jaehyun could say that she's doing well; training well and having no bad blood with someone.
But that's what she thought. Her talent was beyond underrated by the trainees, guys and girls alike. They tend to discredit her talent because all they see in her is her face.GOT7'sJB.face.GOT7'sJB.face. Some even had the guts to call out that the only reason why Jaehyun was accepted into YG Ent is because she has 'idol connection' which she doesn't understand, because...JB is in GOT7 that's under JYP??? But Jaehyun doesn't care. At all. They poke fun at her because of her 'connection'? So be it. Not her fault, anyway. But all remains for her. The goal is to debut.

How'd she come to be more confident in her skill? "
"If I could, you most definitely could. You're my talented angel and you're my sister. Fighting!" -Jaebum.
Her brother NEVER FAILED, NOT EVEN ONCE, to either tell this to Jaehyun or to text it to her, or stick a post-it to Jaehyun's bathroom's mirror EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. That's what kept her going. That's what became her fuel, her drive, her inspiration to share her talent and make it known to others. But unlike her brother who encourage her everyday with positive notes, her parents are exactly the opposite.

She doesn't know when did her parents act like this to her. They never were this harsh to her? But maybe, they did that to keep her going; after all, they fully know that she doesn't back away from challenges. That she's their one and only daughter who could prove not only to them, but to the world, that she could--and that singing and dancing is a shadow of hers which she exhibits with her heart on her sleeve.

It's complicated. It WAS literally the definition of 'It's Complicated'. Mark knew himself that he's falling for Jaehyun but tries hard to prevent himself from falling deeper even though he knows in himself that he's beyond salvation, but he's still in denial. He keeps on telling himself that there's nothing wrong in falling in love but the timing was not right as he's currently so stuck in work to even add up another priority in his life. Whereas for Jaehyun, she doesn't know if it's right to even have an ounce of feeling for Mark, calculating the few times they've met through (the 'blind dates') her brother and his dumb groupmates (who she loves so dearly), but despite that, she loves the idea of being in the same room as him (even if she acts otherwise).

According to GOT7, Mark's good point is that he is quiet but supportive. He thinks before speaking, is to the point, logical, and doesn't make careless remarks even if he doesn't agree with certain members. (+He is also possessive). He is a man of few words who regulates/control the group (but once he gets close to people, he can get reaaaal talkative + he's a big bully in a comical way.) He doesn't say unnecessary things, instead he plans carefully and take action without hesitation. Mark is quiet when the other members are loud but becomes energetic when the other members are tired. Mark can be loud at times or reaaally quiet - there's no in between, man. Overflowing with passion. Competitive. Has a strong sense of pride.
He is the shy guy that goes crazy once he is super comfortable with someone. He is spontaneous and cheeky. However, he is very independent. He takes a lot of pride into what he does and he hates losing. He is reserved and doesn't really let people know what is truly on his mind. He's the type of person who beats himself up a lot over mistakes and tends to overthink, striving to be perfect in whatever he wants to do. He finds it hard to admit he is not good at something and goes out of his way to achieve certain things. He works on himself a lot and is more of an independent spirit. Mark is a totally different person once he exits the stage. Behind his charismatic aura, lies a very sweet guy. He is the type of sweet guy who could woo a thousand of girls from his smile alone. He's a known softie. His easygoing and laidback personality are his distinguishable traits (+ he loves food! Well, who doesn't?). 

He, along with his six friends-turned brothers- are the life of the party. It's either they know where the party is, or they bring the party in, whenever and wherever. Despite his contrasting personality (they're both quite the introverts, yes, but you know his personality contradicts hers) in comparison to Jaehyun's, he and her get along really well. He's too loud sometimes (especially with that high pitched, squeaky laugh of his'?). It's okay, Jaehyun can balance it out because she's the more quiet one. He's overly possessive of his friends (and of Jaehyun)? It's okay. Jaehyun's selfless. You see, they're the perfect definition of Yin&Yang. They balance each other and support each other's strength and weakness.

love story. 

— Mark is someone who is hard to get close to due to his shy nature (that turns impish over time). As for Jaehyun, she generally doesn't open up to somebody just like that. But she doesn't know what is with Mark that she found herself just simply enjoying his company (even if she shows otherwise). Ah, blame GOT7 for even trying to set them up! (Yes, despite their dating ban then).

Mark can admit to anybody that the first time he saw Jaehyun, he immediately had a crush on her. But here's the thing: one, she is Im Jaebum's sister, what the flying ??? and two, he's committed to something. Do I hear a work, work, work, work, work? But it's just a harmless crush anyway, right? Right. That's what he thought. As time progressed, Mark can feel that his crush/attraction towards Jaehyun grows stronger. He tries to fight it. Jaebum will kill him with his bare hands, nevermind if Mark's older and he's too busy for crying out loud! But...can you control how and what you feel? If you say that he could at least distance himself from Jaehyun, he pulled every stops that he could just to create a reasonable distance between him and the girl (and castigates himself when he sees Jackson and Jinyoung so effortlessly carefree around her, and she - to them). It also helps that Jaehyun isn't that sociable to anybody else besides Jaebum...and his bandmates except him, he gets it, okay, and her friends plus family so it wasn't really that hard to stay away from her.

But somehow, Mark finds himself staring at Jaehyun far too long whenever they're in the same room. The way her lips move when she puckers them and moves them side to side, or when she bites them, or when she speaks albeit of a much softer tone (and he can only hear so much because dang it, single-worded answers, really?) than anybody else are used to speaking...the way her eyes have those mischievous glint whenever the GOT7 members, particularly Jackson, or whoever pulls a stupid stunt or the way her brows raise whenever she's in question of something. She's beautiful. Mark can't seem to keep his eyes off of her that even when Jaehyun catches him staring--wait, ogling at her, he shamelessly throws an annoying smirk her way, causing Jaehyun to roll her sharp eyes at him.

No, he can't fall for that. He can't fall for her sudden lip- that Mark noted is a hobby of hers. He can't fall for the way Jaehyun bites the insides of her lower lip to prevent herself from smiling whenever Jackson or Bambam acts as crazy chimpanzees. No, Mark can't fall for the way Jaehyun sings and dances so smooth, it's fatal. No, he can't fall for her words when put into music. No, he can't fall for her even more when she scolds the idiot (aka her food-crazed brother, Jaebum) whenever he goes too psychotic and out of contril, with her right hand on her right hip and her brows furrowed as the idiot listens obediently - almost as if he's not GOT7's supposedly intimidating leader. He just can't, because he's far too busy for that and Jaehyun doesn't deserve it. But he can't help it.

For Jaehyun, the first time she talked to Mark (she dropped by at GOT7's dorm for the first time when Jaebum faked a fever just to have Jaehyun cook him a feast in there because apparently, he missed her cooking and that's when she met all of GOT7 for the first time - and learned that Jaebum tricked her into cooking for him, the sneaky -), it was like some invisible force just pulled her to him--and that got her alarmed. She's supposed to ward off strangers and not get attracted to anyone that fast! But oh no, was that what they call love at first encounter? Upon looking at the -eating grins of her idiot brother (who go by the name Jaebum), she just confirmed her assumptions; she's in deep . This is love at first encounter at its finest. 

For her, Mark is someone one should cherish. She feels that he acts all bright on the outside but is totally vulnerable on the inside; and she understands that. So as much as possible, she gives in to Mark's every whims--not that she doesn't like doing things for him. The feeling he's making her feel is strange and new to her, yet she yearns for more.

— Mark decided to 'man the up' as Jackson advised him, and taking in his advice, he decided to woo Jaehyun with the help of the two who forced them together and his six brothers.

The ones who totally got overprotective of her when Mark made his intentions clear that he wants to court her... are her parents, plus okay, Jaebum--but seeing as Mark is perfectly capable to protect Jaehyun at all costs and is pure with his intentions towards her, they let him court her but not without warning  him that they're after his back.

-Jaehyun likes to wear Mark's shirts.
-Mark likes to put his snapbacks, beanies, oversized sweatshirts and hoodies on his girl, Jaehyun, saying they look good on her. (And since their relationship is a secret, it's practically Mark's way of secretly owning Jaehyun.)
-He's a sweetball who never fails to send Jaehyun flowers everyday, even if they're simple, one long stemmed rose. (Or if he can't, he sends her a long- paragraph text message. JAckson calls them sonnets. What is he even thinking?)
-Because his girl is a great cook, Mark receives home-cooked lunch and dinner (if they're that busy) everyday. Home-cooked breakfast is a plus too, if he requests early. Making his girl cook for the whole GOT7, because they send her text complaints about how Mark doesn't want to share his meals. ("The audacity, hyung??? I AM THE BROTHER??? COME ON???)
-Mark is a greasy whenever it comes to his girlfriend. He winks at her at the most unexpected times and follows it up with a cheesy smile.
-Whenever his girlfriend is angry at him he automatically wooes her with churros (her favorite) with chocolate and his honey voice. (Hah! Who says he can't sing? Definitely not Jaehyun).
-According to the people closest to Jaehyun, she changed so much when she started to date Mark. A good change. She started being a little sociable than normal and the likes, but behind closed doors, Mark could make her laugh the loudest with his stupid antics, screech because he loves tickling her so much, giggle because of all the dumb he puts himself into and smile as if stars are lining her eyes - he can do all those, which ultimately gives him the bragging rights over Jackson, Jinyoung and Jaebum. ("Wow hyung, I hate you so much. Turning my sister from me???")
-Many people actually suspected them dating. It all started when Mark began to dodge 'ideal girl' questions and everything ensued from there, with the fans putting together evidences and all those detective things. Yeah, they love doing those stuff, don't they?
-Mark loves teasing his girlfriend so much as for him, the fun's all in the point where he wooes her.
-Jaehyun already met Mark's family and vice-versa, although a pure coincidence, considering it's a concert of GOT7, but still..! (And Papa Tuan exposes Mark every chance he gets to Jaehyun. #StanPapaTuan)
-He stacks loads of tampons because his girlfriend's period is irregular and very abnormal. (He keeps three in his backpack everytime, along with wet wipes, so whenever Jaehyun sends him an 'emergency' text, he's always ready. Thank God they don't raid his bag just like how they did with Bambam and Youngjae!)
