PERSONALITY :　

Jaehyun is very friendly, so she often finds herself in a company of very different people. She is selfless, always willing to help others, without hoping to get anything back. Gentle and caring, she can be the best friend that may exist. In fact, she often puts the needs of her friends in front of her needs. She is loyal, devoted, compassionate and whenever there is some problem in the family or among friends, she will do her best to resolve it. Deeply intuitive, Jaehyun can sense if something is wrong, even before it happens. She is expressive and will not hesitate to express her feelings to the people around her.

Deeply empathetic, she often exhibits a gentle, patient nature, but one that is in want of inspiration. Jaehyun can be deeply affected by and completely absorbed into her environment. She has an uncanny sense of perceiving what a person wants or needs, and delivering it. She is reflexive, preferring to allow circumstances and events to unfold and, only then responding. Jaehyun is also known to be too idealistic and impractical for every day run of the mill living. In this area, there can be two sides of Jung Jaehyun - on one hand, she will spend a lot of money with little thought, while on the other hand she can become quite stingy. Yet, in the end, there will always be enough money for a normal life.

She is exceptionally gifted artistically; often intensely interested and skilled at a wide variety of things and tend to learn by absorption as opposed to logic. She is loyal, family oriented, kind and giving and is receptive to new ideas and circumstances.She also has an uncanny ability to nurture and support which is directly related to her powerful intuition.

No matter how often she is led astray by empty promises, she keeps the faith and push on towards her personal ideal. Her dreamy and impractical natures can be a source of distress to those close to her. Being both optimistic and cynical, Jaehyun finds it difficult to make up her mind on any issue.

BACKGROUND :　Jaehyun was born in Jeollanam-do, Gwangju, South Korea, from a family of five. Their parents, two older brothers and her. When she was four years old, her family moved to Busan due to her father's work being relocated. At home, she's the cultured kid. Her brothers being overly attentive to her and protective around her in school, and her parents giving her everything she needs, and even giving her things she doesn't need. When her older brother Daehyun, went to Seoul to start training at TS Ent, and she, 15 years old, she expressed wanting to tag along--and so, her and her two brothers, moved to Seoul, their eldest brother, at the age of 21, was already working by then.

Seeing her older brother work his of to be an idol, Jaehyun immediately felt a pull within her. That's when she started asking questions to her brother about training, singing and whatnots of being a trainee, because just like him, they share the same talent. Singing. Just like her older brother Daehyun who has the voice of an angel's; Jaehyun's passion is singing. "Why don't you see for yourself?" Daehyun challenged her one time, and knowing Jaehyun, she doesn't back down from challenges. And from then, she auditioned to TS Ent by herself, not even asking for help from her brother.

2010-2014; The first four years were passing by fast for Jaehyun, and before she knew it, her contract has expired. No, I can't let this happen. I didn't train for nothing. I NEED to debut. She thought. So with the thought in mind, she bravely resigned for another trainee contract at the same entertainment. (Not that she minded the expenses. It's not like her family's walking on eggshells.)
2014-2015; Because TS Ent is disregarding Jaehyun's talent, paying attention to boy trainees than girls, even after working her of 24/7, she figured just after the end her contract on the long years of agonizing training in TS Ent, that she needs to switch companies--fast. She doesn't need this neglection in any form. She's not bigheaded--but she could safely say that her talent is not one to look passed to. If she wants to debut, she has to help herself, or no one else will. 

When she first learned about YGE's auditions (through Daehyun, who's an idol already), she already made up her mind in transferring there. Sure, there are a lot of companies she could choose from, but she can't explain how 'pulled' she felt when she heard of the said label. It was like there was an invisible force urging her to go and try it out.

Daehyun, along with Yongguk's help, laid out the contact details of the persons Jaehyun should call if she decides to pursue YGE; Jaehyun, however, voiced out that she didn't need the contact numbers and just asked her brother, Hyunjae, to personally accompany her to YGE to ask for an audition herself.
She was told to audition two weeks later with her own materials (music to sing and dance to) and Hyunjae 'helped' her prepare for it. Asking for his opinion, Daehyun suggested Zico's "It Was Love" to be Jaehyun's audition song and Beyonce's "Yonce" to be the song Jaehyun dances to. Eventually, Jaehyun was helped by Hyunjae by means of evaluating both her dance and vocal practices in the standpoint of a non-biased judge. "They'd be fools to not accept you. You're doing exeptionally well! I bet they wouldn't even think of the word 'no', I swear." Hyunjae said.

When the day came that Jaehyun would audtion, she didn't expect the boys of BIGBANG to 'judge' her performance as well as five producers namely Lydia Paek, Choice37, Teddy Park, Dee.P and Rovin. Daehyun and Hyunjae weren't with her that time as they had previous work errands to attend to, they just dropped off Jaehyun at YGE and went their ways.
She started her audition with the song her older brother Daehyun had picked for her to sing, Zico's "It Was Love" featuring F(x)'s Luna, saying it would suit her vocals the best. And when she was done, she could hear a faint murmur of 'her english is sooo on point' and another murmur replying 'shh Seungri tone it down' before she heard the faint beat of Beyonce's Yonce fill the room and she instantly morphed into a y dancer. "Hyung, wow." Taeyang whispered in awe as Jaehyun moves efortlessly on the floor and TOP had to nudge his chin to prompt it to close as he looks like a fish out of water.

✩ She's usually so cheery but due to the huskiness in her voice - it might sound more husky (in speaking terms), but when she opens to sing, 'heavens open up' as Daehyun points it - also not forgetting to point out the stark contrast in her speaking and singing voice.
✩ She's never seen panicking. The only instance she did, is when her brother Daehyun was sent to the hospital. Turns out, his ankle was injured.
✩ She's the Park Bom in the group - not by singing, but because the stylists don't 'experiment' much on her hair so drastic - unlike the Park Sandara, who they change hairstyles from sweet to drastic in a span of 0.02secs.
✩ Growing up from an average family, Jaehyun takes care of everything she has--from material things to relationships. She doesn't give a damn about brands--but she doesn't hate them. She just doesn't fuss about it. She doesn't eat red meat; instead, she prefers chicken or seafoods, thus her figure. Lastly, she lives a simple life (that's bound to change as she enters the celebrity life; not that she hates it) and would want to value her privacy above anything else.

interactions: "What are you doing? You're getting too close to Jaehyun! Move away! Move away!" Hyunjae is the usual overprotective older brother and he knows that Jaehyun can't handle herself well, as per her naive personality. Overall, he's the perfect brother in Jaehyun's eyes. He made the statement 'I'm only one call away' a fact.

interactions: Daehyun and Jaehyun's relationship is quite remarkable. They're the perfect example of siamese twins, attached to the hip. Daehyun, being older than Jaehyun, is very protective towards her and insists she calls him oppa ALL THE D*MN TIME IN EVERY SENTENCE, which Jaehyun complies to just so Daehyun would shut his big mouth.

Yongguk being the closest to her as he provides the comfort a big brother emanates or maybe because he's the same age as Hyunjae. Anyhow, Jaehyun feels the safest when she's around him. Yongguk spoils Jaehyun with attention and often, material things. No, he doesn't like her that way. He just sees a younger sister in her that he needs to protect at all costs. "Hey, doll. I just called to ask if you'll be alright? I'm worried about you. Take care of yourself always, yeah?"

interactions: Above all persons in YGE, Jaehyun could safely say that Haeyeol is the closest person to her. Well, to anyone, in that case as she's generally very attentive and caring to other people. In fact, she obsessed on the human fairy, Jaehyun, the first time they properly interacted. She would always make sure that she eats properly and at times, she criticizes her trainings but that's because she wants Jaehyun to be at her best so that nobody could find a flaw in her. interactions: Junhoe is cold to others at first, or at least, seems to be cold. Because he's typically shy to people who he just meets. But once he warms up to you, the boy just doesn't shut up. Goo Junhoe is shameless. Because he was young when he started in YGE, he resulted to rely in other people due to his initially shy persona which turns impish come the time. One of those people happened to be Jaehyun - the one who stood as his most closest person to a nuna (as he also missed his sister back home). When he debuted under iKon, he tends to pick out Jaehyun from whichever training she is in...to train her himself, apparently. But ends up just simply pulling out pranks on her. Not that Jae's complaining.

▸ Rival? — Park Chaeyoung (20) / Trainee under YGE / Sweet, Caring, Lovely altogether / closeness: N/A
interactions: Chaeyoung and Jaehyun aren't supposed to be rivals for one: they don't know each other on a personal level and two: Chaeyoung is not someone who picks fight with someone, just no; she may be friends with Jennie (who has a strong personality but us sweet still, nontheless) and all but she doesn't start a fight. What more for Jaehyun? She's the most level-headed and calm person in her group and she's known to 'throw zero s' to literally almost anything. So, what happened? The panelists, upon one monthly assessment, began comparing Chaeyoung and Jaehyun. Whenever both are in a monthly assessment together, they make them go head to head on 'vocal rankings' to see who'd do better than the other. At first, that doesn't bother them. They're co-trainees, afterall. Soon to be artists, at that. But through the course of time, it went through their heads that when they bump into each other on the hallways or on trainings, it's either they throw a bland, uninterested stare to each other of even a very slight rise of the brow that's almost unnoticed except for themselves. They didn't know when exactly did that staring contest started but once it started, the tension between them grew and the desire to beat the other is practically palpable.

▸There's no doubt that Jaehyun got the judges' attentions, and soon as she finished her dance, one from the bunch (a producer and a choreographer, named Lydia Paek) asked her "Are you, by any chance, associated with BAP's Jung Daehyun?" And Jaehyun answered with a nod of her head as she gathered some stray hairs away from her face to tuck it at the back of her right ear. "I see! I could almost hear him in you earlier! Glad I wasn't wrong with my assumptions!"

And just as her brothers had predicted, not even 48 hours had passed since Jaehyun's audtion that they contacted her, saying that she passed the auditions and that she could start training the next day if she pleases.

Training in YGE was all too much to take in; from the trainers to her co-trainees. But Jaehyun could say that she's doing well; training well and having no bad blood with someone.
But that's what she thought. Her talent was beyond underrated by the trainees, guys and girls alike. They tend to discredit her talent because all they see in her is her body.body.body. Some even had the guts to call out that the only reason why Jaehyun was accepted into YG is because she has a banging body. But Jaehyun doesn't care. At all. They poke fun at her because of her body? So be it. Not her fault, anyway. But all remains for her. The goal is to debut.

How'd she come to be more confident in her skill? "
"You are my sister and you have the voice an angel would be jealous of. Keep singing. For me, for you, for the people around you." -Hyunjae.
"If I could, you most definitely could. You're my talented angel and you're my sister. Fighting!" -Daehyun.
Her brothers NEVER FAILED, NOT EVEN ONCE, to either tell this to Jaehyun or to text it to her, or stick a post-it to Jaehyun's bathroom's mirror EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. That's what kept her going. That's what became her fuel, her drive, her inspiration to share her talent and make it known to others. But unlike her brothers who encourage her everyday with positive notes, her parents are exactly the opposite.

"I can't believe you're my daughter. How can you not sing in front of an audience?" -Mom. 
"You think you can sing just because your brothers tell you you do, huh? Go on and prove it. Less talk, more action, kid." -Dad.
She doesn't know when did her parents act like this to her. They never were this harsh to her? But maybe, that's what really kept her going. She wants to prove her own parents wrong. That she's their one and only daughter who could prove not only to them, but to the world, that she could sing--and that singing is a shadow of hers whom she exhibits excellently.

"The singer whose lovely voice is underestimated."
This is true--in YGE, Jaehyun's voice is underestimated by her co-trainees, girls and boys alike. That's because they pay more attention to her looks that they began to think that that's what she'll only ever have--her looks and her beautiful figure, that they pay no attention whether or not does she have a talent at all.

It was not even a minute after the CEO voiced out his plans for the new girlgroup and Youngbae already provided a name he has in his mind for quite some time now. The people inside the room-- Jiyong, Tablo, Chaerin, Jinhwan, Hanbin, Seunghoon, Hayi and Dara, as well as YG sajangnim, producers Lydia, Dee.P, Airplay, Choice37, ROViN and chroeographers-- looked at him, their faces etched with curiosity at his sudden outburst.

"I know about her. What about her?" The CEO asked him and Youngbae ran the tip of his tongue at his upper teeth before he in a breath to answer. "I've watched her for a long time now, not in a creepy way, of course! Her audition struck me. Even Tabi hyung was like 'this girl is something!' and from then, I kept track of her. She's crossing the barrier between heaven and hell when she trains. Oh I can't even explain her dedication. Jiyongie, you know this. We were there when she slept at one of the practice rooms. In her defense, she stayed late, very late, until 8am because she's trying to complete a choreography for the monthly assessment. If that's not desperate dedication, I don't know what is." He explained and upon looking at their faces, he shrugged and said "Just saying, you guys. You can go check the CCTV's for me. That 8am thing was not a one time occurance. Your call, whatever. I was just stating an opinion."

▸ I'm the main vocal. I take over the first lines, well, sometimes. I split it up with my other co-main. Aside from that, I'm known as the fairy mother in our dorm. Yes, not godmother. I'm the mother itself. *eyesmiles* I am in charge of cooking and making sure the roles and rules in our dorm are followed well, speaking of which - Hey, Haeyeol-eonni! You haven't washed the dishes yet! - anyway...

are/is there any particular senior you look up to? :
