good dark cool yes

Remember when i talked about dark=cool=no?

Yeah..it's just one post ago...

I thought about dark...and i'm actually a fan of dark...but maybe the wholesome kind...

wholesome? really?

Anyway, i did write dark and evil stories too...sometimes purely for the sake of my bursts of inspiration(as is with the oneshots in Good Night, Sleep Tight, and INNOCENT)...or sometimes to delve into the characters psychological and conscience depth(Unlock the Devil Fourever-don't bother looking up this one since i might not continue it at all)...

But dark....where do you draw the line between dark or not dark?

Watching kpop MVs made me wonder...does dark have to involve murder, gore, blood, mindcontrol, some super power or mythical whatever creatures, or guns and gangsters n crimes, or ambiguous creep stuffs, (that all really just scream illuminati...oops...i spelled it out yikes, run for my life from the criticism from the rational normal open minded modern peeps who sees any mention of illuminati as ridiculousn joke yay)...

No. watching too many blatant portrayal of those stuffs in abundance made me realize that it doesn't have to be that way just cuz it's the only way you keep seeing it's being portrayed and shoved down your throats.

Interesting right? Creativity should have no limits or boundaries...when you say so n so is needed cuz it's dark theme/concept...then you're already showing that limitation.

Sometimes being restrained or mild can show even more depth of a certain nature you're going for...(of course, i do realize depth isn't anywhere near what kpop tries to achieve but it doesn't make it less dark)

One thing for sure...a different perspective, no matter how unexplored/unused/unconventional/unvalidated...shows creativity. Rather than following the hoardes without even knowing your own reason and just cuz...

But being different for the sake of being different can be nothing but lame too. Because you feel how hollow the motivation behind that difference is...and that can make all the difference.

Wait wait...i feel like i'm going offtopic...too general...lol.

Dark doesn't just have to be about death. Isn't life filled with darkness too? For many people at least.

My favourite lyrics ever, Cruel April by Broccoli,You Too is dark to me...nothing dramatic...just that pang of painful realization of your state of life when you reached there not knowing how you got there, knowing you can't go back, just watching the world unfold...the song spoke so much to me maybe cuz i've reached that stage of life and i'm feeling all the feelings that lies in some deep, dark place in myself...acknowledging things i fear to face. Isn't that dark? And Broccoli also had other songs that i'd consider dark...like Graduation, which has simple but powerful social criticism of today's society...these songs shook me so much that i could cry if i immerse in the lyrics while listening...because they're so frighteningly real and happening in our lives and society...now such feelings evoked, tell me what they're if not dark...it's not fluffy, bright, cheery or comforting...it's facing the harsh reality. Even if their music often led people to think their songs are so chill and comforting. The members had talked about it too in some past interview.

And guess what? Mundane reality can be dark. (heck, maybe even darker than what the stereotypes of dark would ever be)

Depending on how creative you are to see it that way. If you choose to confine your take on it...then nothing much i can do to convince you. If you feel you lead a boring life...even that can be cool depending on how confined or not your perspective on it. Confinement and limitations are some reason i dislike genres in general. Because whenever i do reading of it, genres often come with such specific confinements that make them feel lame and limited. Just like Shakespeare's tragedies and romcoms are all the same (yeah, i used the word romcom for shakespeare lmao)...and here i am sitting down weird that dude is so worshipped in literary world when his works are so one style and predictable...not that it's wrong to have his own style...but it arguably doesn't worth all the hoopla.

Though i don't know if it's right for me to think the way i do. sometimes i feel like my mind had grown too accepting on possibilities and unexpectedness and unconfinement that it's like a loose canon or something. Confinement isn't necessarily bad....rules are a form of confinement...and there's a reason rules even exist in the first place. People and society now are so passionate about going against rules...whether it's rules of cultures, religion, or unspoken social norms...but have we ever stop and think of the possibility that maybe....we manage to exist today all thanks to these rules we're trying to break now?

After all, the end of the world is coming somewhere...pretty damn sure it's in the works...who knows when it's gonna be completed...but it doens't look too far away.

Anyway, whew...why does the subject keep getting darker...lol. like i said...my mind is a loose canon that just goes around anywhere and everywhere T^T...it has advantages and disadvantages...lead you to greater height of mind...or dangerously lead you astray...people often confuse between the two...sadly.

One thing for sure, it definitely doesn't benefit me in real life lol...

Oh well...

Oh yeah...the reason this blogpost came along is actually...i wanted to share this song i just subbed here...hahaha...what a long winding path to reach the point right? that's normal with me...

Such a gripping song of life and survival, so raw and ahh..idk...but it moved me...why didn't i subbed this song earlier? I actually subbed most of the new songs from this album already yet i left this one out...until i watched a super awesome perf of it and got curious again bcuz of the intensity...that made me suddenly want to know the story...and i can say it's a story worth knowing. I love Jo Moon Geun and his band...this dude never fail to be awesome no matter in his fierce rockband form or in his cute gentle ballad solo form or in his street musician normal form...T^T...i'm so lucky to have discovered him thru superstarK. though i didn't even watch the show and only watch clips here and there cuz of him.

Anyway/coughs/ enough fangirling...

here, have the perf...xD

I actually can see this song as dark too. I'm easy to be pleased, need no blood, or murder...just stab my heart... figuratively(not literally please i beg you T^T)...with good 'dark' lyrics ...and i'm all good. (and i miss the days when people complaint abt the simplistic MVs of singers singing in studio...now i wished that kind of MVs would come back n make huge trend...cuz why not? it saves cost and shouldn't the song be the priority rather than extravaganza MV for whatever song?)

Good kind of dark. :)

Definitely cool.

At least for me.

and to lighten the mood after all the heavy dark feels...let's end this with something light and cute.

I find myself been watching a couple MASC's vids lately...and i guess out of 2016 rookies, the ones that eventually caught my attention are MASC for boygroup and BULLDOK for girlgroup(actually even quite for a few recent years, groups come and go...and i just don't care however good or not they are). These two groups are not outstanding/different in any grand ways. but they're good, they make me sit up and pay attention and eventually want to root for them. maybe i won't be hardcore fan, but maybe i'll keep stalking for their new releases, and wish for their success and maybe buy their albums if they release a real strong awesome one worth buying in the future... right now i'm just worried for Bulldok's  upcoming comeback and really hoping they won't get into this trend of dark concept unless the good kind of dark. and then there's also K.A.R.D...but K.A.R.D is too mainstream and popular lol.

The MV Flower by XIA got me the feelings of "darkness" because smiles, gold, beauty, youth, money, success are the darkness. Imagination was widely used for the creation of this great MV.
