Appearance : Mijin has long silver hair that almost look like a blonde shade. depending on the lighting. She is tall and stands at 1m70 and has a thin figure and a sweet face but also a bit of a resting face. She carries herself with attitude and people always look at her when she enters her room because she definitely catch attention. People say she looks older, she says she'd rather look older and more mature rather than young and always be told she looks cute.
Style : Mijin likes to leave her hair untied like a flowy silver mane. She can usually be seen wearing a choker and isn't scared to layer on other kind of thin necklaces. She is known to rarely wear tight sleeves because she hates when her shoulders feel restained and often dress like it's summer. She like long tank top and flowy blouses with ample sleeves and she will wear her t-shirt at least 2 size too big to make sure she is comfortable. Mijin is almost always seen with shorts or jeans and never with skirts but will often wear summer dresses. Mijin's favorite color is silver and she is often seen wearing clothes of neutral colors like black, white or grey with silver accessories. She has her unusual pop of color in the form of her makeup when she has any, or some pale colors but will tend to stay away from prints. One word to describe her would be "put-together".

Mijin likes to appear at the top of her game at all time and cares a great deal about her appearance but for herself, not for others. In fact, Mijin enjoys being surrounded but she feels like she doesn't actually need anyone. A hardworking and strongwilled person, Mijin works hard in the things that make her passionate and refuses to take no for an answer. She has a rebellious side that make her dislike situations in which she feels trapped but she is overall a reasonable person.

When Mijin is in the room, people tend to notice her and her queen-like attitude (like she can do and say everything while appearing a little arrogant) make her a popular subject of discussion by boys and girls alike. It is easy to like her and easy to hate her, people usually figure out which side they belong to in the first minutes of meeting her. Honest and transparent, Mijin rarely hides how she feels and isn't afraid to say the things as they are. Far from being rude, though, Mijin is extremely polite but often speak in a slightly condescending tone that make people frown. In fact, Mijin is known to have many fans and many haters on the campus and her every move is observed and noted. She has grown to stop caring about what people will say behind her back. "Let them talk", she will say. "Only I knows how I am".

While people are judgemental of her, Mijin is judgemental of the world. A realist who might as well be a pessimist, Mijin likes to make up her mind and settle on one opinion. There is no being wishy-washy, she is owning her thoughts and actions and she has those about everything. While Mijin's thoughts might seem harsh, they are always founded. Mijin is wise and smart and easily balances the two sides of an argument to find the best solution. Why waste time arguing? She hates wasting time.

Mijin is caring of the people she has chosen to like. An older sister figure to the group, she is often seen trying to take care of others by taking them out or talking to them. She has a soft spot for everything cute, something she would hate to be, because opposites attracts, and is often seen smiling at a puppy or her friends. Yes, Mijin can smile, in fact, she quite often does so when she is being polite to someone. People rarely approach her, but those that dare to are always rewarded by a very polite Mijin and a warm smile that would make people's knees go weak. She is definitely an extrovert and is talkative but the sad thing is people rarely come up to her to talk. She would certainly enjoy it, though, which is why she smiles so brightly whenever she talks to people. She might not need anyone, but that doesn't mean she is unsociable.

Mijin is organized and likes to put things in compartements to separate them. She does the same thing with her life and studies. She believes there is a time for being serious and a time to have fun and when that time comes, she embraces it. Mijin loves to have fun, it just isn't always her top priority. Since many people only know her when she is at school, it might come as a surprise that she is a very chill person when she wants to. She enjoys going out with her friends and just having a fun night out, maybe even partying a little bit. And if she gets passionate about that party, she will go all out. Good thing she has a high tolerance to alcohol.

She will also tend to put people in compartements. Her family is one thing, her friends, people she likes, people she dislikes, people that like her, people that dislike her, etc. As such, she will tend to be protective of her categories of people and have trouble letting them mix. Aside from that, Mijin is usually reacting well to change, although not her favorite thing. She finds it okay that people will badmouth her, but people who hurt those she is protective of will feel the wrath of a queen. Mijin can talk you down like you are nothing, which is what you will feel once she is done with you.

Mijin likes people for their flaws, something that is a bit hard for others to understand. She enjoys people who will not try to be perfect but simply who they are. She also like honesty, it is the best policy, and is able to feel comfortable with both introvert people and extrovert. Extrovert can quickly make her comfortable and they talk with her, which she enjoys, while introvert bring her more independant and sisterly side during which she feels like she can do things on her own without a fear of seeming rude (which she also enjoys) and her sisterly side which means she gets to be caring.

Mijin described in one word would be "adult".

Background : Mijin is the only daughter of an older couple who always viewed her as a blessing. While Mijin always liked having older parents who rarely made mistakes and were both wise beyond their years, it forced her to grow up quickly because she had almost no room to be a child, something both her parents deplore. She was quick to make friends and do her best not to be a burden to her parents who have now retired to the countryside and have very little income. While they assure her that they can pay for her studies and her living expenses, Mijin prefers to do it mostly on her own, to make sure they do not end up missing of anything.

In 10th grade, Mijin started dating Joonmyeon after she confessed to him and he accepted. Their relationship was pure and uncomplicated. and lasted for a bit less than a year, after which he had his best friend Do Kyungsoo announce to Mijin that their relationship had ended and that he was moving to another school. It is safe to say that Mijin was crushed and refused to date anyone after that. In fact, once she realized that they were in the same university after crossing his path once, she tried her best to never see him again.

It was one fine afternoon during which Mijin had no classes nor work nor anything. She was just relaxing at home with a book when the doorbelll rang. She opened up and was handed a package se had to sign for. She was surprised because she never gets packages. She asked the other girls if they ordered something but one replied it was clearly for Mjin because her name was on the box. Mijin thought maybe it was from her parents but there was no sender's adress, no signature or anything that would indicate the identity of the sender. She opened it was was met with a silver box with intricate details. Inside the box were a deck of card with a silver glittery back. She looked at the cards for a minute before shrugging and stuffing the box with the cards inside in her bag and heading out to the library to study. 

Lifestyle : Mijin is what people would refer as a superwoman, someone who does everything. She goes to the gym 2 to 3 times a week to keep in shape, works hard at school and manages to get good grades yet still has time to maintain friendships and have fun nights out. Hopefully for her, Mijin is done with her major and has now moved on to the major leagues of studying (masters degree) and she found something that pays her bills and that she likes. Pursuing her studies in the feel of psychology, Mijin plans to get a Ph.D to be able to practice. She currently attends some university classes and does her best to avoid the medecine departement but also works in psychological research with her thesis adviser, her professor, at the university's research lab. Said research lab is ironically close to the hospital. She is also a teacher's assistant during her spare time, which makes her spend a lot of time on campus. Good thing her gym is also on campus.

Relationships : 

Mother: Jo Haneul, a 65 years old retired astronomer. She is a smart and charming person who enjoys science and remain fundamentally curious.

Father: Jo Sangchul, a 67 years old retired cardiologist who still gives conferences in Korea and keep himself informed of the news concerning the medical field. He is an optimist who was known to have excellent bedside mannerd and be very kind to his patients.

Friend: Housemates. Mijin likes her housemates very much. While she only started to live with them to save money, she grew to care for them and is easily the oldest, hence the big sister of the group. But not the mom, that is someone else entirely.

Friend: Kim Yujin (Uee), a 24 years old communication alumni, now working at a small company. Yujin went to school with Mijin and both girls grew close then. Yujin is truly a communication wizard and know everything about everyone that is relevant. She is the one who told Mijin Joonmyeon was a Med student when Mijin saw him. She is also close to Joonmyeon and his group of friends and basically act as a link between Mijin and Joonmyeon.

Interactions : Eun is an anxious worrywart who always manages to balance Mijin's coolness and logistical side. She is sweet and innocent and always works hard in whatever she does because she takes pride in her duty as a guardian. Eun can be seen a good meter behind Mijin, running after her protege and protesting because she just knows Mijin is not doing what Eun would like her too. Eun is always complaining that Mijin makes her blood pressure rise and she tries to be persuasive, but Mijin just doesn't care. Unless of course Mijin gets swayed by Eun's sad puppy dog eyes. Eun isn't a romantic per say, but she doesn't understand why Mijin refuses love so fervently from a professsional statepoint, as it is her job to make Mijin find her soulmate and she will do it even if the world is against her. Though she might end up crying a lot on the way. Eun will also often try to convice Mjin to not do something because what if something bad happen? She's a pessimist will always imagine all hundred ways a situation could turn out. Hence why she likes when things are planned and follow a clear outline and Mijin's a little bit too unpredictable for her taste.

Personality : Kind, Discreet, Mature, Smart, Inconscient, Cheerful, Fearful, Curious

Protective and caring, Joonmyun is the embodiement of a perfect friend. He is the kind to put others before himself. He is attentive and nice and always knows just what to say to make everything okay. With his calm personality, Joonmyun always seem really mature. He isn't afraid to show just who he is with his flaws (like the fact that he's a scaredy cat) and qualities and this is what makes him such a great person to hang out with. Smart and soft spoken, it's rather easy to have a conversation with him.

Although he's very nice, Joonmyun doesn't stand out much. He doesn't get angry easily and is not comfortable talking with strangers or pretty people. Easily awkward, Joonmyeon is often rambling and just trying to make jokes when he gets shy, a fact he quite often facepalms about later, when he thinks back about it.

Many people abuse of his kindness and forget to actually ask about how he is and what are his dreams and aspirations. He enjoys reading newspapers and taking various objects to pieces to try to reassemble them. He really believes in having dreams and that they can come true and is always trying to cheer people on.

Joonmyeon is a good student who always works hard and despite being book smart knows actually very little of the real hardships of the world. Joonmyeon finds it very difficult to hurt people and will often try to avoid it altoghether albeit not always the right way.

Joonmyeon tries so hard to be perfect. He wants to be the perfect brother and live up to his older brother's name. He wants to be the perfect son and live all his parents dream for him. He will bend backward and break in two to make them happy, preferring to live the life they planned for him rather than do what he wants.

Background : Joonmyeon is the younger child of the family. His brother being so smart and dedicated to his studies made his parents expect a lot of Joonmyeon. He was not allowed to date and always had to go to cram school straight after school. However, when Joonmyeon was in his 10th grade, he was confessed to by a girl and felt it was mean to refuse without giving it a try, blame his pushover personality.

Against all odds, it was fun and Joonmyeon found himself doing all these little things to make Mijin happy. They would go on walks together  after school and they would study together. Joonmyeon even met Mijin's father Sangchul who immediately took a liking to him and Joonmyeon to medicine. It was the revelation that made Joonmyeon realize he wanted to help people and become a doctor. His parents were overjoyed by his decision, but less happy to find out he was dating someone and was skipping his cram school.

They forced him to transfer to a better school and made him realize how studying harder would be the only way to make it into med school. He couldn't bring himseld to hurt Mijin, a girl he had grown to like and care about and had his friend Kyungsoo tell her the bad new. He then changed school and immersed himself into studying, graduating top of his class and getting into med school at Xavier university. He did go on some dates after he got in the university, but he never got into another relationship and he must admits that he wants to.

Lifestyle : Joonmyeon is a med student and often has to work at the hospital. With a very unbalanced lifestyle, he will alternate day and nigh shifts at the hospital and classes at the university. He lives by himself and rarely has time to cook. He can often be found at the convenience stores at weird hours buying food. When he is free, he tries to make time for his friends.

HIM, ME, AND OUR RED DECK OF CARDS

 

Meeting: They technically met back in high school as they were in the same class and dated all the way to 11th grade until he transfered. They met at least once more in university before any of them received cards and he was pleased to see her, not understanding that she wasn't. He tried to look for her after that, but he could not meet her. She was avoiding him, which he didn't notice either. When he found out his card, he saw the Psy symbol and immediately understood it meant the psychology departement. So he went there and saw her because she was preparing for a class as teacher's assistant and he thought maybe she could help him figure out who it is the card is about.

Relationship : They dated and now barely talk anymore. She wants nothing to do with him because she's still bitter about how they ended up but he's oblivious to it and wants to be her friends. She hates that he tries to be perfect, which relates pretty well to the quote on her card "Pictures of perfection make me sick and wicked."

Interactions : The thing is, once Mijin saw the caduceus on her card, she knew it was related to medicide and knew she wanted nothing to do with that departement. She wants nothing to do with Kim Joonmyeon, again,and nothing to do with love, something that Eun has real trouble understanding. She believed Joonmyeon is a jerk for breaking up with her that way when he believes it was easier for her because he didn't do it in person. They both are not understanding the other. 

Ending : Perhaps he can can her heart if he works hard at clearing the misunderstanding :D
