Appearance: Mijin's hair is always kept fluffy, whether it is long or short, to preserve her ute image and always a brown or black color. She never or rarely dyes it another color. Her image would be best described as "fresh". She is intended to be the breath of fresh air that takes away the tiredness of fans as they wath her. As such, she must be energetic, smile a lot, be adorable and endearing. Because of that, her teeth are veneers and she has removed all moles on her body except one on her ankle to look as pure as possible. She will always tend to have a rosy lipgloss instead of very opaque lipsticks, and when she does it is often a light color. Fans say that her image would not work very well with darker and sultry concepts, but she has proven that once you take away the layer of cute persona, she can muster a mature and mysterious look (sure magazine shots). 

As clothing, stylists usally pair Mijin with cute clothes that give a angelic feel but she hearlf prefers a trustee old pai rof jeanand a t-shirt that she can tuck in.

Personality And Background: Mijin is a sweet girl who enjoys reading and whose absent and lower middle class parents had no other mean of entertaining her than libraries, where she would be dropped off after school when she was too young to walk there by herself. Her parents would then go back to another job or pick up some extra shifts to do overtime. That experience taught Mijin a few things, first, she was a burden for her family, second, you can find all the information you want in books or on the internet. Very curious and eager to appear as the perfect girl in hope of her parents finally approving of her, Mijin researched everthing about how to be lovable and get good grades so they wouldn't worry about her. It worked pretty well and soon Mijin became the pride of the family. As a child, it made her extremely happy, but as she grew up, she realized the amount of time she felt trying to please and how it was the only way to get attention andthose memories would be bittersweet. When she isn't enhancing her personality with books or observation and mannerism she takes from other people, Mijin believes her own personality is fake and average. She feels a strong imposter syndrome but will do anything for people to like her. What Mijin does not understand, though, is that after choosing to become a certain way, it has engraved in her deeply and there is no real difference between her real personality or the one she chose for herself, albeit on stage she makes everything twice as intese at it really is (more smiles, more fun, more everything!). 

 

 

She has mixed feelings and memories of her mother, a gambling addict who would sometmes blow money that was put aside for rent or her school tuition in one night. She was very careful not to cross the line and gamble away money that the family didn't have and aquire debts, but she was often caught stealing family funds. Her father had to work overtime and overnights a lot. It was her grandma that felt the closest to Mijin. Her mother's mother, she would be aware of her daughters bad habits and try her best to shield her from the bad things, although Mijin realized it. She would be the one to give Mijin some sort of allowance. Mijin has simple tastes and is frugal. She would save up her money for something important but never really use it because nothing felt important enough. And so, she would decide on small things to make her happy. Mijin's week highlight was when she had enough money saved up to buy spicy rice cake on her way to the library. Otherwise, her money was saved up in a box in her wardrobe. 

When she was 14 years old, she found out her mom found her box and had spent her money. For the first time in her life, Mijin who was usually so calm and mature because she wanted to be loved, got angry and started screaming. She stormed out and didn't come back until much later. Then, she found out the money had been put back in her box. Her father told her her mother had felt sorry and put it back. 

 

When her father died, a year later, from a heart attack due to overexertion, she was told by her grandmother that it was her father who had placed back Mijin's money, because he didn't want her to hate her mother. That only caused Mijin to get angrier. She decided to cut off all ties with her mother believing her to be responsible for her father death as well as the fact she never saw him (because he was always working to pay back money her mother spent). She got into a big fight with her mother where Jangmi, distraught by the death of her beloved husband and feeling attacked by her daughter, revealed she never wanted a child in the first place and that it was Mijin who had been a financial burden on her family. Mijin remembered how she had bee scouted on the streets not too long ago and accepted to become a trainee at the condition they let her stay in the dorms, which her grandmother signed on.

 

Even many years, later, Mijin still hasn't talked to her mother, although she keeps in touch with her grandmother. Her vindictive side is a part of her she wishes to hide, as well as her guilt surrounding her father's death (her mother's words never left her) and so she threw herself into her training, desperate to create new bonds and be loved. 

 

She is the kind of person that likes people and want to know everything about them and their secret, considering them family quite easily. However, she has trouble sharing her own secrets and emotions preferring hard facts over personal information. She is afraid of sharing because she doesn't want people to know her darkest secret, that she wasn't loved by her parents and abandonned her mother. So she spends extra time making sure her appearance doesn't reflect what she believes is an ugly interior. - Mijin has simple taste, and they are also very average. She tends to always like things everybody else likes and is almost never outside of the box.

- There aren't many things Mijin openly dislikes, but false quotes are one of them. She always makes sure to say just the right thing during interviews, so being misquoted or misunderstood is actually making her offended.

- Mijin is knowledgeable in all things trivia, like randoms facts, dates and theories. She is still an ardent researcher of everything that interest her and she was a good student in high school. 

- Mijin's biggest fear is that the story surrounding her mother breaks out and that people learn of who she really is (someone who does not forgive and should be pitied). She works very hard to display a worriless face, though.

- Mijin is an un-assumed homoual and had a crush on one of the phantasy trainees when se was younger. 
- Her ideal type is Sistar's Bora, but when asked she will reply whichever actor or idol is popular at the moment.

- She has decided not to focus on love right now because what she needs is family not romatic love.

Notable Actions: Mijin donates to a few charities that hit close to home, notably for people living in the street and for kids who drop out to be able to go back to school. She volunteers at her local library, at least she used to before they became a more popular group. She will not brag about these, but will let somebody else mention it if it's appropriate and doesn't make her look like an attention seeker. Mijin is known for her acting career and long CF list.

How You Met: They met as trainees in the same company. They weren't imidiately friends, but they got aong okay. Most likely, the other girl didn't feel treatened by Mijin's lukewarm skills in everything.

Treatment: They are friends, as Mijin believes anything more would not be a good idea. She has no time for romance and is scared of the stigma associated with homoual relationships in Korea. I anyone found out, it would make everything she worked hard on crumble to the ground. Perhaps the other girl agrees or perhaps she does not intend to wait for Mijin or perhaps she doesn't even know and doesn't feel the same. It does not matter to Mijin because she wants her friends happiness beforehand and they already feel like family. A closer relationship would be a low-benefit high-risk deal that she can't afford. Mijin will support her crush's endeavors with any other person if her crush wants to date.

What does PhantasY mean to you?
- Phantasy is my family, the one thing I have that I want to protect with all my might. I want to belong with them. They are amazing women who work hard and make no concessions for their work. I admire them.

What's life like in the PhantasY household?
- To be honest, I am rarely home because of how busy I am. I feel like I'm always on the move and just go home to sleep. The other members know of my schedule so they don't wake me up unless they have to which I appreciate. When I am there, however, I feel really bad for not helping, and I try to do what I can, like dishes or laundry. (Since Mijin has so many CFs and acting gigs, she wins a lot of money and therefore pays a bigger part of the rent.)

How did you feel when two members left and were going to be replaced by three new members?
- I was shocked! I thought we were all family and that they wouldn't leave like that without telling us why. I am so happy for them however, if that way they can do what they like. 

What's your favorite color?
- Blue

What's your end goal?
- I'd like it very much if we could continue being a group for a very long time. I understand that after many years, we can't have as many comebacks because individual members will have their own activities, but I would like to have a warm place I can come back to, that would be Phantasy.


What's something you would like to happen to you?
- Something happening with Mijin's crush maybe? I don't have a lot of ideas, but you know I love drama, so have fun!
