Appearance: Sun is usually kept looking natural an fresh with hair long and wavy and bangs. She wear natural makeup daily but will go for something fancier at events. She rarely wears jewelry because as a dancer, she prefers when her movements are not hindered. For the same reason, she is often seen wearing very casual clothes. She enjoys jeans and a cosy sweater, but will sometimes wear something fashionable but confortable like a trendy coat or a shirt. She usually sticks to her trustee sneakers and when she owns a pair will wear it until it falls to pieces. (fans like to recount her pairs of sneakers and the one she buys usually sells a bit better after she is seen with them, because people know she doesn't kid around with her choices).

Personality And Background: The second child of a family of four, one must either learn to fight for some attention or learn to live without. While her dazzling older sister chose the former, Hyunsun chose the latter. Never a bright child, Hyunsun is one to rather live in the shadows. Always looking mature even as a kid, people would say they were attracted to the weird aura of melancholy and sadness she possessed, instantly polarizing whomever she met. Some loved her to death, some disliked her without even knowing her. She has a cold beauty and the youthful face of the heroine of a tragic story. However, her story was never the worse, she was simply never regarded for who she was.

 

All the siblings of the Kim family were meant to undertake one activity, which was enforced by their parents who valued being versatile and healthy. Hyuna took dancing, Hyunsun took gymnastic and the two younger brother both took soccer. But lack of time and a sense of efficacity made the Kim parents change their mind and after a while, they sent Hyunsun to dance classes as well. This might have been the first time Hyunsun couldn't get something because her sister had chosen another path and it became kind of a curse for her. Surprisingly though, both sisters were talented enough to become good students and the time they spent practicing together at home only reinforced that. No matter how much Hyunsun wanted to do something else, she just wasn't able to refuse her sister's wish to dance together. She could never complain that she was too busy, because her parents would tell her that her sister had much more things to do and that she was lucky she could get her help for her own classes. And she did. Thanks to Hyuna helping her, Hyunsun became a much better student than her sister ever was and as good a dancer.

 

When Hyuna auditioned for JYP and got in, she was instantly the pride of the family, but also it's main worry. Hyuna wasn't healthy back then. She would frequently faint and be in a lot of pain and in the midst of training, had no time to not be practicing. That is why the Kim parents begged her not to do it and even pulled her out themselves shortly after debut. She was able to consult a doctor and was prescribed the right medicaments and treatment. Hyuna became such a pivotal axis of the family that whenever she was not happy, no one would be. That is why she was allowed to join Cube as long as she got her health into control. She did for most part. But then something unexpected happened. JYP, seeing that Hyuna was to be successful recruited her little sister Hyunsun instead, hoping to fill the gap. Hyunsun joined in a daze, unsure of what it would become, but happy to be recognized. However, Hyuna's health wasn,t iprivng as much as they had hoped and the tensions pulled away at their parents' marriage. Soon, the household was fighting left and right, but no one could tell Hyuna in fear of her health deteriorating even more. Stuck with the weight of her family fights, Hyunsun neglected her training and was nervous to the point of forgetting routines and practice time. Judging she was not worth it and that her sister could cause bad publicity for them, Hyunsun was pulled out of the project group who would later become Miss A and her training stopped. The rejection sparked something in Hyunsun and she became determined to prove she could do it. But this time, on her own, without her sister. That is how she became a trainee of Imagine Music and developped a habit of clearing her head fully whenever she would step on the scene. She would no longer be the Hyunsun with family issues and envy toward her bright sister, she was Sun, the one who would shine even brighter. 

 

People will find that Hyunsun is indecisive and rarely has a clear opinion on anything. She is rather wishy washy, prefering to internally debate sides until she decides that it doesn't matter or until somebody else choses for her. She never shies away from the harsh reality of life and does not mind sharing her thoughts which makes her appear negative and gloomy. She always take the blame for whatever may happen and instantly start feeling sorry, retreating into herself like an animal in her shell and feeling miserable and fragile. This side of her can make her appear cute to some people but also annoying to other. Everyone always has an opinion on her even though she rarely has opinion herself. They hate her or love her, there is no middle ground for those who know her.

 

On stage, it's like magic happens and Hyunsun is finally able to let go of the weight of the world on her shoulders, let go of the shell she built and let go of the past. Sun can smile so brightly people wonder if it's the same girl. She can finally be just a girl, not herself, she's anyone, everyone, she is the real personality of her sister, the cute and smiley giggly sister she grew up with and always felt envy for. She can be the friend who is such a superstar she naturally has an graceful and powerful aura around her. she can be explosive, she can fade in the group, she can stand out or be meek in the corner if it's what she needs. When she does her job, Sun does it extremely well, surprising all expectations and making Sun feel accomplish and happy. But then she has to get off the stage and Hyunsun comes back.

2009: 4Minute debuts in july

2009: In Fall, Seona joins JYP at 15 years old, with the agency thinking that they can recreate the magic that is Hyuna and she is planned to debut with some of the Miss A members. However, with the fact Seona is not as good as her sister and the controversies surrounding Hyuna (ban of choreographies, mv and name calling) she is judged not worthy enough of the trouble and is pulled from the group. Angry at this treatment, Seona watches miss A debuts without her in 2010. And subsequently leaves after discovering JYP has no immediate plans for another gg.

2010: Seona auditions for a few agencies willingly staying away from Cube and neglecting to mention her older sibling but without her sister gravitas she has trouble getting in. She eventually got in IM who saw a potential in her.

2011: Seona trained harder than anyone and eventually became one of the best trainees without revealing who her sister was. 

2012: debuts with Phantasy. Her sister is very proud of her, but Seona refuses to let her reveal they are related. It isn’t until Halloween that Hyuna releases a picture of the two siblings thinking the costume will not give it away, but a combination of the picture and some former classmates testimony reveals everything. Seona becomes a hot topic and Hyuna is forced to reveal the truth adding that she wishes the best for her sister. It becomes a slippery slope in hell for Seona as she is no longer regarded as her own person. The group gains popularity for their second single which quickly falls for the next when some bandwagon fans decide their concept is too far from what they like, Hyuna, and that the group is not as good as the hype they made it out to be. Their music starts doing worse as they are accused of using Hyuna’s popularity and Seona retreats back in herself feeling extremely sorry.

- Hyunsun gets along best with her youngest brother Hyunsuk because he understands what it's like to follow an older sibling's path.

- Hyunsun's favorite color is golden yellow. Her favorite meal is anything avocado and she really likes rice. 

- Her dream is to have a solo song.

- She really enjoys winter and snow in general and at home was always the one to call snowball fights.

- She is often reminded by her mother or other family member that she needs to reach more to them. She usually just doesn't feel the need to talk to them as she knows they are okay. She will worry and call more if something bad is happening. In her head, no new is good news.

- She drives a scooter and wants to ultimately update for a real motorcycle but the agency is afraid she will get hurt or be more recognizable.

- She is one of the less liked member but is still fairly popular and talked about, most popular being Korea's Fairy, Renowed Netizen and New Chance (public likes to root for the underdog) and she is quite equal to the other members. However, the fans that she does have will defend her to the end as she is their pretty queen.

- When she is not dancing, Sun likes to exercice and keep herself in shape. She does weight training, pilates, yoga and jogging.

- She easily keeps her weght low enough and doesn't need to overly diet.

- Doesn't like shopping and going to places where there will be a lot of people, like the movies or street markets. 

- Sun remained friends with Suzy following their training together. The fact that she is less popular than both her sister and some of her group members (notably Korea’s fairy and renowned netizen) creates the rumor that she is always hopping on somebody else’s fame, which causes some people to dislike her.

- Her parents are divorced.

- While Sun has friends, whe is not close enough to anyone to consider tham best friends. Maybe with three siblings she never found she needed anyone else that close in her inner circle. 

- She is a dancer and as such, her feet are kinda disgusting. All scarred and bruised most of the time, swollen with hurtful toenails. She doesn't mind and would rather have gross feet than no talent. However, she won't show her feet easily.

- Friend | Bae Suji (Suzy) | 94 liner | Idol in Miss A | They trained together and almost debuted together. As the two Korean members considered then, they bonded over the same struggle. Suzy ia a bit light headed sometimes and very opiniated, which constrasts the very grounded Sun (ironically for her name). Both girls enjoy talking about their job together, but while Suzy is girly and enjoys things girly girls do, Sun would rather not take part in it (coffee shops and sweets and shopping and movies and such).

Trainee Time : 2 years

Trainee Life : Sun worked so hard to overcome the stigmas of her family ties and finally succeeded in becoming good at what she was doing. It is also during the training that she developped the Sun stage persona following the advice of some teachers and trainees to learn to let things go. The fact that while she is on stage, the rest of the world fades a little and it's not as worrisome enables her to stay balanced but between two extremes. She sorts of likes it that way.

 

She was also trained as a rapper and although her original skills were lousy and just consisted or her talking fast, she eventually developped a talent in rapping following her keen sense of rythm and her excellent vocabulary and diction (that earned her very good grades at school). 

 

In terms of socializing, her trainee time was quiet and she mostly kept to herself. She didn't interact as much with the trainees as she had previously in Jyp, instead concentrating on her job and her goals. She did however talk to some trainees she felt were on the right path to debuting and thay became good coworkers. 

 

She would often come back from the practice rooms, with bloody swollen feet and a hoarse troat but she kept pushing through the pain. It is said that she would rarely contact her family and again, she would mostly just talk to her favorite brother and mother.

Notable Actions:  Sun was compared to every idol imaginable. It was said that she sort of looks like Suzy, sort of like Sooyoung, like Joy (when RV debuted), like Sulli, everybody wanted to chime in that she didn't look too much like her sister. Eventually it was revealed that they looked quite similar when Hyuna wasn't wearing makeup. Their aura is also different.

Past Scandals: 

- she is sort of tied to any Hyuna scandal like thereally bad one where people thought she was kicked out of wonder girl because she was pregnant. People theorized it could have happened to Sun and Miss A instead but it never sparked that big a fire.

What does PhantasY mean to you?
- They are a very nice and talented group and I enjoy being a part of them as it helps me get closer to my dream.

What's life like in the PhantasY household?
- It's rather uneventful for me, most of the time. I just do my things and pray the house doesn't burn when the others cook. I am sufficiant enough to be able to do the cooking for myself as well as the laundry. I just take care of my own chores, I guess...

How did you feel when two members left and were going to be replaced by three new members?
- I hope that was the path to their dream, otherwise that would be a waste. I reallythink it will affect the popularity of the group and we will go down. I seem to recal at least one of them was popular in the group. Without her, we will be worse.

What's your favorite color?
- Golden Yellow, like the Sun, which I am not like at all. (most of the time)

What's your end goal?
- I wish to have a solo song, although with the way we currently are, I am sure it will not be popular. We should wait until we can make sure it is well received. It may never be...


What's something you would like to happen to you?
- Maybe learning the importance of letting people close to your heart, having a best friend seems nice, although troubling and a lot of investement.
