Style : Seriously, she wears everything and really, that's true! She would herself say that she has no fashion sense and rely on what people tell her to wear. She is the kind to see a mannequin in front of a store, think it's pretty and buy the exact same outfit for herself and always wear it that way. Sometimes she'll try to mix and match but her friends always tell her to go change. Naturally, though, she's a short and t-shirt kind of gal, somewhere between sporty and girly.

In Depth: Meiyiis a very curious girl who always want to try new things. She's really bright and intelligent and can easily learn. She has a way of thinking that makes her certain that everyone is good, so she can easily trust and forgive. While she is always cheerful, she remains polite and on the quiet side. In fact, she never wants to bother anyone. She's like a blank canvas where the harshness of the world hasn't yet begun to taint her. That's where she got her nickname. She is the kind to stay quiet but think a lot and once you ask for her opinion, it's like you allow her to verbally pour out everything that's on her mind. She'll say random stuff because she'll just go with the flow of the conversation than back to the main subject than directly to a subject that is somewhat related... People have a hard time understanding everything and consider she's just babbling when in fact, everything she says has been carefully thought and is in fact rather wise. Meiyi really loves learning. She will listen to every critic and take it in, always trying to be better, thinking that people tell her she's bad so she would get better, out of the goodness of their hearts. She can't really see that sometimes, mean people are just mean. If she doesn't feel like trying again or believe she can't do better, she will apologize wholeheartedly. She always apologize. She likes it when things are clean, even though she's not a clean freak and actually enjoys tidying because she finds it relaxing.

Likes: Taking shower rather than a bath. Cooking because it's relaxing but she doesn't know much about it and can't do much either. Yay for ramens. Sweet food. Spicy Food. Love comedies. Dressing up (or playing dress up)

Habits: Whenever she doesn't understand a korean word, she repeats it trying to figure out what it means. When she is speaking, sometimes she makes a mix of Korean and Mandarin or switch between the two without knowing.

Hobbies: Playing chess even though she is average at it. Taking care of plants, she has a super green thumb. Doodling on napkins and random sheets of paper she finds

I'm not perfect: Meiyi is a naive person who will often dive head on in a situation without considering it first. She is easily distracted and her train of thought moves faster than most people which means no one follow what she says. Meiyi is friendly, but she doesn't work on her friendships enough, which leads her to grow estranged from most people she knows if she isn't forced to hang out with them. Her family will tell her she doesn't call them nearly enough. Meiyi is a worry wart when it comes to the future and she always tries to carry everthing she could need just in case something happen. Because of that, her personal sense of security is high and she is able to jump into most situations happily and she believes she has to live each day at a time and make the best of it. Meiyi is a forgetful person and she always forgets to close lids or lights or doors. Most of the time, she is doing something, get distracted and then forget she was doing the first thing.

Trivia: She has trouble with some words of Korean sometimes, but some others resemble mandarin so she understands them. Meiyi carries a huge handbag and some people mock her calling it a suitcase. She has everything in her suitcase, ranging from food, snacks and first aid kit to pens and even a flashlight sometimes. She carries it because of her "What if something happens" mentality. Meiyi is a classically trained singer who strayed toward RnB and Hip Hop because she prefered it. Her korean name is Yang Maeyeon.

 

So What's The Story?

Background: Meiyi is an only child and both her parents worked in artistic fields. Because of thet, they were always open-mided to Meiyi choosing her own destiny and working in a field she enjoys. They have always pushed her to discover what she really wanted to do and took her to many lessons including painting, dancing and theater. Amongst all those classes, Meiyi was discovered to be talented in singing which she enjoyed the most. Her parents were exctasic and believed she could become a great classical singer. However, Meiyi's childhood friend encouraged her to become an idol. Meiyi then auditioned for a number of entertainement but didn't get chosen because she would always sing classical songs. A scout in SM noticed her and encouraged her to try another song. She did and was accepted.

In Depth: Protective and caring, Joonmyun is the embodiement of a perfect friend. He is the kind to put others before himself. He is attentive and nice and always knows just what to say to make everything okay. With his calm personality, Joonmyun always seem really mature. He isn't afraid to show just who he is with his flaws (like the fact that he's a scaredy cat) and qualities and this is what makes him such a great person to hang out with. Smart and soft spoken, it's rather easy to have a conversation with Kim Joonmyun. Although he's very nice, Joonmyun doesn't stand out much. He doesn't get angry easily and is not comfortable talking with strangers or pretty persons. Many people abuse of his kindness and forget to actually ask about how he is and what are his dreams and aspirations. He enjoys reading newspapers and taking various objects to pieces to try to reassemble them. He really believes in having dreams and that they can come true.

How you met: They were both trainees at the same time. However, Meiyi didn't talk to him at that time. She barely talked to male trainees at all. They met and started talking when Meiyi was performing but once she was done she ran to the bathroom to cry because she really wished her parents had been there. He saw her and sat outside the bathroom to talk to her while she cried. Afterward, when she finally got out, she asked him to never tell anyone, not even Lu Han. She adds that she can't talk about those things with Lu Han because she feels bad about his family. He tells her he will be there for her if she wants to talk about it.

The way you act around each other: Meiyi is shy and awkward around him. Most of the times, she will not know what to say. However, Suho insists on taking care of everyone and always make small talk with her when he realizes she's on her own. Whenever they meet, Suho will ask her if she's feeling better and if she talks to her family. Whenever they cross path, he winks at her because they share some secrets together. It makes her blush but she likes it.

Rival: Lu Han - 20 in 2011 - Idol - Exo-M - Smart, cheerful, Compassionate, Lonely - It's not that they don't like each other, but they both feel as if they were two sides of the same coin. They were often compared even back when they were trainees, and Meiyi strives to be ackowledged as her own person. -  They act like brothers and sisters. He is the caring older brother and she is the cute and naive younger sister. He always wanted a sister and he has bad relations with his family so he considers her his surrogate family. He always tells her to drop the formalities with him, because at the beginning she was very polite, even a bit distant. With time she warmed up to him and realized how lonely he was. Sometimes they end up conversing in mandarin just because they can. Despite the fact they debuted at the same time, Exo is just so popular that Meiyi will limit her interactions with him. On one side, she is proud of him as a fellow Chinese kpop idol, on another side she dislikes being compared to him and on one final side she has a small crush on him. He's just so warm and brotherly. She once invited him for the holidays at her home with her parents because he didn't want to go back home. It's a friendly rivalry and sometimes when he does better than her he will about it. Meiyi knows that she can't hang out with him publicly because of the scandal it would create so she always tries to include as many people as she can.

 

The Journey

Trainee life: 4 years. She was scouted in China and was asked to move to Korea to train. She had classes of Korean as well as other training classes for singing, dancing and rapping. It was difficult to adapt to a new language and trainees that weren't Chinese didn't really take time to help her. She spent her time alone at the beginning until she met Lu Han and became his friend. He was the one who helped her socialize and meet new people. Thanks to him, she met Rina and began opening up. She wholeheartedly enjoyed her trainee life and was always the first trainee in and the last one out. She was warned by Lu Han that by being not Korean, she would have to work at least twice as hard as everyone else just to make it. She practically lived at the studios. It was difficult to communicate and some teacher were especially hard on her for it as she had a bad pronunciation and she spoke really slowly so she couldn't reply to them right away.
