► Hwayoung is what many would call a "goddess-like beauty". Her face is symmetrical and she has a really pale, bright complexion. Along with those, she has long, thick, jet black hair and stunning brown eyes. She also has really long and thick eyelashes and naturally red lips.
► She isn't stick thin, but a healthy kind of thin caused by proper dieting and exercise (like TWICE's Tzuyu and Momo, WJSN's Cheng Xiao and IOI's Sejeong and Somi). She also mile-long legs and has two pairs of large, noticable bumps on her body: one pair on her upper half and another on her bottom half (Yes, you guessed it, her s and ).
► As a result from intense ballet training, her feet aren't in good shape. It's not that noticeable from afar, but you can clearly see the scars on them. Her feet aren't as bad as they could've been due to Hwayoung going to a doctor since she started ballet, but it's not good either.

Her ballet teacher was a traditional woman who only believed that petite and slender girls should be ballerinas and her gymnastics teacher thought the same when it came to gymnastics. Hwayoung loved ballet and gymnastics so the remark crushed her spirits. Those were the reasons Joohyuk decided to move his wife and children over to Australia, saying that "the new envionment would do them good."
► It was a bit jarring to be in a foreign country with different food, culture and language but the family learned quickly enough. Hwayoung, as Iris, was a bit shy when she was introduced to her class in school but quickly gained new friends - namely, Phichit Chulanont, Amelie DuBois, Luke Williams, Mark Parker and Ivan Plisetsky. They became her best friends. Her siblings and mother also adjusted and her father made sure he contacted them so much that sometimes they even forget he's not in Australia with them due to his position as CEO.
► Joohyuk was right, the new environment was good for them. Boyoung slowly got out of her depression, managed to control her anxiety attacks and grew strong in both mind and body. Miyoung also became a shy, insecure little girl to a bubbly, confident one. Hwayoung also met a teacher, Mia Evans, who told her she should continue ballet and gymnastics despite what everyone says because "Never let anyone tell you doing what you love is wrong." Said teacher wasn't a ballerina or a gymnast, but she was a figure skater. Mia was akso curvy and had been discouraged too because figure skaters should also be petite and slender. It was because of Mia that Hwayoung continued ballet and gymnastics and started figure skating. She also started competing in competitions again - though nothing representative.

Well, a few months after they came back to Seoul, an underclassman in Hwayoung's school, Kim Sumin, did something shocking. Sumin had been depressed and had decided to end her life. Hwayoung didn't know her but her death impacted her a lot. Sumin could've been her sisters or her brothers. She could've been her parents or her friends. It made Hwayoung see that people out there need someone who can say, "I don't know you but I'm here for you." It was then that she started volunteer work and donating money to charities and her blood to those who need it. Hwayoung did iit with a "someone needs to do it" mentality before she fell in love with it. Her mentality changed to "I want to help them."

► Hwayoung was scouted while she was on her way to an animal shelter she picke to help that day. A BigHit scout approached her, gave her a spiel about becoming an idol, and handed her a card. She accepted it and went on her way. Truthfully, she would've just discarded the card like she did with the others, despite being a huge ARMY, but her younger sister, who thought BigHit would be the one for her sister, convinced her otherwise. She went to BigHit and sang Never Alone. And lo and behold, she was accepted.
► Her first day as a trainee was pretty normal - she met the other trainees and trained. Hwayoung was nice to them and they were nice back. She later found out that many female trainees cried in the bathroom and in their homes/dorm after meeting her - apparently, they believed their chances of debuting lowered because there was no way someone as beautiful and as nice as Hwayoung wouldn't debut.
► Hwayoung began to love singing. It was another way for her to show her emotions, a way for people to see her soul. It was amazing and soothing. Now, she didn't just train for her sister, but also herself.

► You know how you've been dancing one way your entire life and now you have to learn how to dance other ways and it's hard? Well, that's what happened to Hwayoung. She never really got the power dances right - she was more attuned to the subtle power and elegant grace of ballet. Her dances were always graceful so it was a hard when it came to cutesy dances or power dances. It was really hard, but she passed decently enough.
► Of course, there's always people who will put you down. Though BigHit is pretty chill and usually filled with nice people, there will always be those who are ruthless in debuting. There were trainees who would say that she's only good for her looks, that she can't sing and that she should just quit. During those times, Hwayoung would remember what Mia (someone who she has, unfortunately, lost contact with) told her - "Never let anyone tell you doing what you love is wrong."

Bang PD-nim told her this: "I picked you because not just because you're beautiful, but because you're confident in yourself. You freely tell what's good about you but you aren't afraid to show your flaws. It's something you share with Jin - both of you admit you're good-looking but also admit you aren't the best at singing and show body parts you're insecure about - him with his fingers and you with your feet. Visuals are the ones people look at, they're the ones people try to emulate. Your confidence with yourself, with your perfections and imperfections, is what I hope people try to echo." final words / I've been obsessed with the anime Yuri!!! on Ice that I actually made a character who figure skates but used to do ballet. And I even named one of Hwayoung's friends as a character in the anime. I'm trash help me. Anyways, thank you for the extension! I had fun with this and I'll still be a reader of Goddess regardless whether Hwayoung is picked or not! Best of luck to the story! Fighting!
