Her body fits her face though, so she looks very proportionate compared to having a small face + big body. Aside from that, she doesn't look much different from Suzy.

BACKGROUND
♦ Miyoung was born to Choi Seho and Kim Mina with a 4 year older brother, Choi Junyoung.
♦ The family was in the upper middle class bracket. Seho had a good position in the company he worked in and Mina was a well-respected doctor.
♦ They're also a very loving and understanding family. Their parents are the type to support them in their dreams rather than forcing them to study things they don't want.
♦ Miyoung was 4 years old when her parents got promotions/opportunities to work in London. Of course, Seho and Mina accepted the offers.
♦ The adults had a harder time dealing with the changes while the kids, malleable and young as they were, adapted more easily (Miyoung moreso than Junyoung.)
♦ Miyoung and Junyoung were homeschooled so that they could learn English. Once they were at the very least advanced in the language, they were finally enrolled in school.
♦ Along the way, Miyoung got interested in singing and dancing so she begged her parents for lessons. Since they had money to spare and they didn't see any harm in letting their daughter learn how to sing and dance, the parents agreed.
♦ Ballet was the first dance style Miyoung learned. After that came the other styles like hiphop and contemporary. Meanwhile in singing, she concentrated on breathing exercises first, since she can't really sing English songs yet. Eventually, she moved on to actually singing. There was also a 2-3 year time period where she learned acting.
♦ Life in Britain wasn't so bad, actually. Sure, there were the racists and the bullies but the family met nice people and found friends there.
♦ Miyoung wasn't really the most popular girl in school there but neither was she the least popular. You could say she was just one of the girls you bumped into at school and think "oh she's pretty" before promptly going where you should be going.
♦ The family moved back to Seoul when her grandmother started having health problems. Her grandmother, Haneul, moved in with them.
♦ Miyoung had a hard time adjusting to being in Korea and Kpop became her solace. She became a huge fangirl of it and even dreamed of being an idol every now and then. She never thought she would actually become one in the future.

♦ Miyoung was street casted for her looks when she was just walking down the streets one day.
♦ Truthfully, she didn't trust the casting manager, at all? I mean, would you believe a guy who just randomly came up to you and gave you a card and told you that you could be an actor/idol? Besides, BigHit wasn't a known company and she didn't want to get scammed.
♦ Believe it or not, BigHit was the first to cast her. Fate decided that the JYP, Pledis and Starship casting managers would find her after the BigHit did.
♦ She ended up going anyway because she researched and found out BigHit had connections with JYP, so that meant they were legit.
♦ Why not the other companies? Well, she decided that it would be fair that BigHit would be the one she chose due to it finding her first. Besides, bigger companies are too much pressure to be a trainee in.
♦ Let's just say the casting manager gave himself a pat on the back when it was revealed that she could actually dance and sing well.
♦ She did well at evaluations. She wasn't the best at everything but she was well-balanced compared to others.
♦ Many considered her as one of the people who had a bigger chance to become an idol due to her looks and skills.
♦ She did have some problems with the weight requirement. Due to being being naturally heavier than other girls due to her bone structure, she had to diet a lot. It wasn't only until late 2014, that she was allowed to gain weight, due to people being more accepting of heavier girls and the realization that she could be a good potential "bagel girl."
♦ She was friendly with all of the trainees and staff but she didn't really have a close or best friend amongst them.
♦ Miyoung was friendly with the GLAM girls since she trained with the BigHit girls and GLAM would often be training at the BigHit building.
♦ She was quite shocked at what Dahee did and was quite sad at GLAM disbanding.
♦ When she was chosen for Tesselate, she was very excited at the fact. I mean, who wouldn't?
♦ However, a part of her was worried, since it seemed like BigHit just making a girl group as a last resort. There's also the fact she doesn't have a set image yet nor is she confident enough in her Korean skills to not make a blunder and cause netizens to bash her and the group.
♦ But in the end, she decided to stay to see what would happen.

"BoA is definitely my role model. When I saw her the first time, I knew she was the type of performer that I'd like to be."

'I would say acting. I took acting lessons as a child so I do have some experience."
