- basically its the same as Scarlet Witch from the MCU (check it out here) + projections and intuition
- mental manipulation and fear manipulation require her to see the person she wants to use it on. it also requires her to overpower their will with her own.
- her intuition's basically like an extraordinary perception and Spider-man's spidey sense combined. it's a facet of her quirk which is activated at all times. it's not infallable, as it also depends on her views on life. for example, she'll only sense danger if she thinks something is dangerous - as a child, her intuition would warn her if it senses a chihuahua has taken an interest in her but as an adult who isn't scared of chihuahuas anymore, her intuition wouldn't do anything. also, it can be vague as heck. for example, it'll warn her that someone's lying to her, but not what they're lying about - it could be as extreme as having killed someone to a harmless white lie.
- instead of reddish, glowing energy currents and mist-like shapes, hers takes on the color of light purple
- despite having and honing her powers for years, nobody, not even herself, knows what she's fully capable of. she only knows what she can't do: short circuit electricity, creation (not illusions and projections), tranation, precognition, see auras, generate elements, copying and teleportation.
- her quirk requires her to have excellent control or else something bad might happen
- if she uses her quirk for too long without sufficient breaks in between, a headache forms, which gets stronger the more she continues. by breaks, she has to wait for the mental strain to disappear. also, losing control over her quirk will cause it to automatically try to harm (or even kill) anything she deems malicious within the vicinity or burst out in a wave of energy (which doesn't care if you're friend or foe).
- she isn't reliant on her quirk. she actually knows mixed martials arts and is poficient with a variety of weapons.

APPEARANCE ♡ angele has deep, inky black hair and kaleidoscope eyes. she has porcelain pale skin, dimples and a mole under her left eye. she has a light, silvery lichtenberg figures spanning from under the back of her neck to her lower middle back. standing tall at 177 cm, she has an hourglass figure - big bust, small but not ant waist, wide hips, thick things and long legs. usually, she has a silver pendant in the shape of angel's wings hanging from her neck. her makeup is simple, but enhances her best features. usually, she's seen with berry-toned, pink, or red lips - she can't stand other lip colors.

STYLE ♡ angele prefers looking elegant but y in a classy way. she prefers to balance how much skin she shows - for example, if her legs are already revealed, then she won't show too much arm or cleavage. she also loves wearig heels and most of her heels are actually customized so that she can run in them.

  

  

for her hero costume, it's basically the picture below with the pants being part of the armor and actually made of the same material as the top, and no waist-hip exposure. the belt also has puches with biometric locks set to her fingerprints. inside those pouches are weapons like stun guns, guns, knuckledusters, and the like. there's also a whip hanging from the belt. inside of her jacket are pockets where she keeps a lighter and other such items.

PERSONALITY ♡

angele, at her core, is an open-minded and compassionate person. even as a child, she was known for those two traits the most. she's just the person that understands and accepts and helps. that's just who she is in her heart, in her soul. with her past, however, despite how she just has a big heart, she has a hard time trusting people. she's seen what people can do, what people will do- heck, she experienced it herself. if intuition wasn't part of her quirk, she probably would've become overly paranoid of people. her intuition plus general observant nature - she sees a lot of things, what other people see, what they miss, what they ignore, the little things, the big things - help her determine a person's nature. when she's in hero mode, she's very cooperative and slightly trusts with those she works with but that doesn't mean she fully trusts them and is actually pretty ready to be stabbed in the back. and, as kind as she is, there are parts of her brain that much prefer achieving her own means through deceit or evasion. angele's knows herself enough to admit that she does use dirty tactics and trickery in her fights and even her everyday life.

charisma is also something she is. she's not the loud charisma that makes everyone look at her every time she enters the room, who fills a room with her sheer prescence, no, she's the quiet charisma slowly draws people to her, that makes people listen when she speaks. it also helps that angele has a generally mellow prescence which gives her an aura of calm serenity and level-headedness and a mature disposition of someone who has experienced many things and life and gained wisdom from it, who knows how to make good decisions, and who knows who she is and her own worth. another plus is her intelligence - her mind is faster than and comes up with a lot of things.

though despite how charismatic she actually is, angele is a reserved person who only likes to lower her walls for people she cares about and trusts. during the first few or so meetings with her, she's aloof and slightly cold. though it doesn't mean she's quiet and shy, she'll talk and she won't shy away from you or anything - it's just how she is at first.

angele may be a generally chill person, but that doesn't mean she's always like that. for one, she's a huge worrywart when something goes wrong or when her intuition warns her of danger. she tends to fret over things that go wrong because a lot of things have gone wrong in her life and she doesn't want to lose anythinng else. as a consequence, she can be quite protective of those she cares about, because she's afraid of losing them. sometimes, it can cause her to smother them in her intentions. though you can also bet she'll fight and ruin anyone who harms the family she;s made for herself.

   THERE'S MORE TO YOU THAN MEETS THE EYE...

PAST ♡ angele was born to charmaine bonnefoy and ivan medvedeva. her older half-sister, elizaveta, was adopted by ivan when he and their mother got married. charmaine had a healing quirk and was a high-profile doctor for pro-heroes in poland and ivan worked at a damage control company. elizaveta was a growing girl who wanted to be a hero, which was very possible with her quirk, "phoenix." and as angele grew, she wanted to be a hero too. life was honestly good for the medvedevas.

everything changed when angele manifested her quirk. though, more accurately, it started when she manifested mind manipulation and fear manipulation around her 7th birthday. she was being bullied by some girls in her class when the main bully started screaming as she saw her fears and one of the others went to a teacher and blabbed about what they were doing with a strange, vacant look in her eyes and her head surrounded by a light purple mist. the matter was cleared up but word quickly spread. angele medvedeva disappeared only two days later.

she was taken by the dark legion, central europe's most devastating group of villains. psionics was a powerful quirk, and especially beneficial to the legion. aside from that, angele was a beautiful child and, well, beauty has so many uses, yes? there, alicia "influencer" martinez got a hold of her and worked her magic. "influence," a quirk which enables the user to basically influence a person to think or feel something, so long as there's constant contact with the subject. alicia ensured that angele would feel more loyalty love and attachment to lukas "ragnarok" watatjowski than her biological family, and that she'll always feel like everything he and the legion says are right ("making her hate her family would be too confusing at her age," alicia murmured, "besides, she's too attached to them and the sudden, 180 degree change might cause her brain to shut down.")

and so angele grew up with villains, her name being changed to "maria watatjowski," ragnarok's own daughter. maria was trained to become the perfect spy and villain - espionage, torture, flirting, no subject was spared in teaching her. her quirk was subjected to prisoners and enemies of the legion and those cosidered expendable. she was sent to low to mid profile missions. nothing as drastic as honey trap or seduction missions, as even a head of a villain organization has standards, but still pretty villainous thinga.

the dark legion was busted at when maria was 15 years old. influencer got caught by interpol and was interrogated by various investigators with truth quirks. pro-heroes from all over europe and even those from outside it surrounded and infiltrated the base and attacked. maria, and those who were in the same boat as her - influenced and/or taken and/or raised by the legion - were captured or knocked out while more force was used on those who were complicit in the legion and its ideals.

a riot practically happened when everyone found out what influencer did in the legion's name. so many missing children with useful quirks, high intelligence and/or above average looks were found to be influenced to follow the legion's doctrine with fervor. unfortunately, influencer had killed herself the first chance she got after the raid, utterly terrified of what villains would do to her for spilling the beans, so most of the public turned their eyes to her victims. most of the public cried for the victims' mental rehabitation and reintegration into society after being deemed rehabilitated. it wasn't the first time a brainwash/mental quirk had been used like that in europe, so the general masses were more sympathetic to the victims instead of condemning them for their actions under the villain's quirk. in fact, in some ways, what influencer had done was worse than mind control, as it made the victims actually think those actions and feelings are theirs without any shred of doubt and separating those fake feelings from their real ones is a psychologist's worst nightmare.

and so those victims were sent to the best mental health facilities in europe. maria was sent to luxembourg, where her older sister elizaveta aka "ember" lived - unfortunately, their parents had a died a year ago. ember was the number 5 hero in luxembourg and overall number 27 in europe. her quirk, "phoenix" causes her to be enveloped in flames in the shape of a phoenix, fly in that form, have fire-based attacks, healing tears and empathetic abilities.

in luxembourg, maria slowly integrated and became angele once more. it wasn't an easy or pretty process at first - things broken, spiteful words said, self-destruction occurred - and it took a lot of patience and resources and understanding, but healthy coping mechanisms, understanding of the situation and a loving sister who never gave up on angele helped her recovery. it took 4 years of therapy and rehabilitation before she was reintegrated into society. she was broken but remade, a new person created from both maria and the little girl she was before.

right after, elizaveta was injured by a villain with a pain quirk, frying her nerves. the injury caused her body to spasm uncontrollably in random moments, causing ember to retire, due to the high-risk of it happening during a fight and a fire quirk isn't easy to control if you have spasms. due to how hectic their lives were, the sister decided a change of scenery was important. they chose japan.

the sisters moved to japan afterwards. they honestly fell in love with japan and made new lives there. elizaveta became a doctor and also sells vials of her healing tears to countries around the world. in fact, her tears are considered very precious and, since no one can replicate them, are very valuable. then, angele reignited her dreams of being a hero. she got a license and debuted under the name "arcana." at 24 years old, she was asked to become a teacher at ua and she accepted.

PRESENT/SCHOOL LIFE ♡ angele lives with elizaveta in a penthouse apartment. as a hero and teacher, she's pretty busy, with night rounds and lesson plans to make and classes to teach. sometimes, she has day rounds on weekends too. she's a pretty popular hero, due to her looks and the versatility of her quirk too. she goes to parties and bars with her friends when she doesn't have plans and they do.

in ua, she teaches philosophy and psychology (don't be fooled, it's one subject) - affectionately called "PhilPsy," pronounced "fil sa-i" by the students - to all the hero course students in all three years. her lessons consist of why people become villains, how people become villains, the various possible complexes a hero can have, the bias against quirkless people and those with "villainous" quirks, nature vs nurture and all the other stuff. the goal is to give the students more insight into the world, and to try to teach them that not everything is black and white before a mission or fight does and they freeze up or have their world upside down in a crucial moment. after all, you might meet a sympathetic villain and you don't act immeditely because you realize how s/he/they aren't completely evil and people get hurt or die due to your hesitation. it's best to shatter their worldviews now and teach them than for something to happen in the future.

also, she teaches ed to the hero classes, using up a period of her class and the next two after that. once upon a time it was midnight but everyone ends up too moritified by the end of her lectures so she ended up teaching the subject instead. ed happens only once in the second semester of the school year unless something happens in the school or scoiety related to it so emergency ed has to happen.

angele's known to be an encouraging and mellow teacher. however, at first, most get the impression of her being cold and distant before she warms up to the class. she's also known for being pretty fair and not as eccentric as other teachers.
