FASHION STYLE [ ★ ] Actually... Minam's way of dressing himself is really, really terrible. If it wasn't for his boyfriend to pick his clothes and decide on how to style his hair or which kind of contacts he should wear today, he'd be just another unnoticable foreveralone nerd that people easily run over. With his boyfriend's advises Minam gets at least a little of a human-like outer appearance. Thanks to him Minam dyed his hair light blondish and even puts on some make-up (because his eyes look better that way). Most of the time his boyfriend dresses him in over-sized pullovers or hoodies, so nobody can tell what kind of fragile person he is underneath.
If Kevin's not around Minam would stick to the outfits that Kevin made him wear already and then walk around in the same outfit for 3 weeks. He'd panic if one of the things that was set for the outfit goes missing and end up throwing all his clothes together just randomly chosing something... yeah, fashion accident much in that case. Don't ever let that happen. He'd look like a colorful splashed ball of... weirdness.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO AUDITION FOR THIS SHOW? [ ★ ] 

Minam blinks into the camera, all flustered because he didn't expect someone to ask him this question. He is absolutely not prepared for it and starts stuttering. "...I....I was.... my friend... my b...best friend... convinced me t-to join. I thought...it would be... a good...experience...and...fun..maybe?...nevermind..." As his voice slowly dies out, his eyes wander onto his lap where his hands are fondling with the edges of his hoodie.

DO YOU THINK YOU'LL BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE TOUGH CONDITIONS OF TRAINING? [ ★ ] 

"I....I....", he starts all over and constantly looks from the camera to the interviewer, now making it more than obvious how nervous he is. "I'll...!", he even raises his voice and pumps up his chest before he shrinks completely together again. "...pass." Now his eyes are stuck at the interviewer, basically begging him to skip this question.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR BEST SKILL IS? [ ★ ] 

"Sing...ing?" Him questioning his own best skill makes not only the interviewer, but also the camera dude more than frustrated by how this interview is going.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR WORST? [ ★ ] 

"Uhm...uhm...t-talking...a-and s-singing...in front of people?" A slight shade of red suddenly shines through his thin layer of make-up, turning darker and darker the more he tries to talk.

IS THERE ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT? [ ★ ] 

Minam gulps and nods, first very hesitantly but then stronger and stronger. His shoulders go up, almost reaching to his ears with his head moving further down as if he was a turtle, trying to hide in his shell. Nobody needs to ask what he's worried about... he is showing what exactly it is.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SAY? [ ★ ] 

The heavy nodding turns into a heavy shaking of his head. And when the interviewer tells him the interview is over, Minam jumps up and flees in high-speed tempo out of the room.

//Minam is the small guy next door that you always forget when asking the neighbor kids out to play. No, really. It's not that he fades into the background that easily, it's just that he is so scared of starting social interactions that he builds up a giant wall to protect himself from any harm. People look at him and can only think "Ehhhh... next time". With insecurities as big as China, he doesn't try out new stuff on his own. He's the kind of person that needs to be pushed to his own luck but when he gets pushed and starts stumbling into the right decision, things often end good. Minam just doesn't believe in himself. Because what would a small boy with no further talents even achieve in life? Insecurities aren't the only reason why Minam is so hard to approach. He's shy af and doesn't even dare looking strangers in the eyes, he rather greets the ground and examines the dirt at his shoes.

// Underneath all his insecurities lies a heart that is honest and kind. Minam is a modest person that couldn't harm anyone else and he barely gets angry at others. Before getting angry, he'd always question himself and think about if others cause him harm with a good reason, starting to believe that he's done something wrong. The naivety often gets corrupted by others who push him arround as they please. He's super weak, not only personality-wise. That lightweight can't even do one single push-up. But what he can't achieve with physical strength, he gets with his creative mind. This boy might be silent waters, but as you know... they run deep. In the depth of those waters his partly brilliant ideas are hidden. His creativity is his biggest strength, his fantasy helps him out of the most difficult situations... as long as no physical strength is required of course.

// In a nutshell, this boy is like that tiny teddy bear that people push around. He can't fight back. He doesn't even complain. He endures. And he endures persistently. He might cry. He might suffer. But Minam doesn't give up that easily when he starts trying. He's of the diligent kind that would work hard to improve and make himself a better person. There might be a thick layer of ice around him, to protect him from everything outside his shell, but hey... even out of super cold ice you can get some really delicious Bingsu, right?

BACKGROUND [ ★ ] As the youngest child of this little family, Minam grew up loved by his mother as much as possible. His father never really was at home, he didn't even pay a lot of attention to his kids, so to Minam it was always his mom, his brother and him. But even though his mother was trying her best to love her children equally, his brother Taewoon always grabbed the spotlight with his big ambitions and dreams which led to Minam always ending up in the background. He didn't even try to change that fact as his brother was an intimidating and bossy person that would beat him if he just dared opening his mouth. Everything that was left to Minam was to follow the values his mother taught him and do what everyone in South Korea is so focused on - studying. Unfortunately Minam wasn't that good at school, nonetheless. He is very average in everything regarding education and ultimately ended up at an average university in Seoul. He never made a lot of friends, prefering not to stand in anyone's way and so he stayed socially awkward for a long, long time. The only thing that ever grabbed his interest further and ignited a deep passion and love was music. He started very soon and thanks to his brother got to know about a lot of ways how entertainments handle their musicians and what it requires to get in. He never went to an audition himself, though. His brother made him believe that he wasn't even worth setting step into the halls of an entertainment building.

The change in his life happened when he entered university and met his boyfriend Kevin, who showed Minam what it meant to live and love. He quickly grabbed on the freshman and changed him to the better step by step. Noraebangs, dates, just simply walking on the street or dressing properly, everything just seemed possible because of that one person. Thanks to Kevin's encouragement Minam also accepted one of his biggest strengths and interests: music. When something was worrying him, Minam always ended up listening to music, studying music, rearranging things in his head etc. Kevin noticed all the potential and supported Minam in further pursueing that interest. He saw all the love he had for musics, even the talent and the great voice Minam had. He knew Minam could do it and so when Kevin made Minam freshly undergo a make - over and the boys were passing by the audition team of JTBC at COEX, Kevin signed both into the auditioning process and practically forced Minam to join. When Minam had to sing, Kevin pulled Minam's beenie down, so he couldn't see anything and pushed him towards the crew, telling him to sing for him - and him only. Minam did as his boyfriend commanded and that's how he passed. He got overly irritated by the people passing by applauding (since it was a street audition I guess everyone could watch and listen) and messed up sone of the lyrics and the timing because he was too taken aback but his voice got him through. He was basically what people often see on TV. That random kid that doesn't look like he'd be capable of much and then he stuns them all.

FAMILY [ ★ ]

// Brother, Han Taewoon ★ 22 ★ University Student ★ Diva. You won't need more than that. ★ Taewoon hates Minam. No, not as if it was a thing that happened a long time ago. Taewoon tried to pass auditions to enter a company himself ever since he was 10 but never got in anywhere. Of course he started hating his younger brother when he heard that he passed the street auditions for JTBC. How could that little nobody who had to endure Taewoon's (really bad) singing over all those years get into the world of idols instead of him?

// Mother, Ryuu Nara ★ 45 ★ housewife ★ bubbly, supportive, loving ★ Minam is her little baby, hence the reason she gets super protective over him. She always wants the best for him and thinks he'll come out big one day. Of course, she ran back to her psychic right when she heard that Minam was participating in a big survival show and that psychic told her just whatever she wanted to hear. As always. 

// Father, Han Taenam ★ 53 ★ IT specialist ★ indifferent, busy, socially awkward ★ He's not close to any of his kids, since he's working most of the time and when he gets back home he just wants to rest peacefully. Not even Taewoon dares to bother him then. He's got something in common with his youngest son, though. He's as socially awkward as him. It's a miracle how he even got married.

LIKES [ ★ ] 

// composing & singing; Minam loves everything that has to do with music. Yet, he has his favorites in music. He loves composing and re-composing songs and of course singing. When he started? Pretty early. It was easy with a brother that was bad at singing, Minam alwys grabbed on all the bad tunes his brother was producing and tried to make them fit into the song, so that was how he actually started re-composing songs. Noraebangs are his favorite places to go. You can sing in a closed room all alone if you want and you even get a score at the end.

// flirting & innuendos; he gets it. And it makes him feel uncomfortable. Even more than anything else. And with his boyfriend complaining in his back it's double painful.
// stage fright; Minam wishes to perform on stage and share his love with everyone else, but he can't do it as he wishes as his stage fright is doing a good job getting into his way. He often dreams about how it would be to be confident and secretly envies all those people who are good at performing on stage with overflowing charisma. Even when they're super bad. Because it takes courage. The thing he is lacking the most.

PERSONALITY [ ★ ] Bubbly and out-going Kevin is the complete opposite of his boyfriend Minam. He is cheerful and loves to make new friends, always smiling and laughing. He also has that habit of telling others what to do because he thinks it will help them increasing the quality of their lives. He's good-natured, a little sassy and can be savage as times, too. Yeah, like Minam, he is very honest... just the very, very bold and blatant way. Being gay means a lot to him - he stands to it, no matter what. And it hurts him that Minam can't show that on-screen just because super conservative Korea has a stick stuck up its . He nevertheless supports his boyfriend no matter what and gets a little overprotective when others bash his little cutipie Minam-i.

RELATIONSHIP [ ★ ] Kevin and Minam act as much as a couple as couples in general are allowed to act in public. They hold hands, they cuddle, they wear couple fashion - people in Korea would still be in denial and say, they are just besties. And since males in SK are really touchy with each other anyway, nobody minds. Towards Minam's parents, they act a little less obvious. Not that they would actually mind... but Minam doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings and Kevin does respect it. Doesn't mean he wouldn't steal one or two kisses when Minam's mother turns her back to them, though.

HISTORY [ ★ ] When Kevin met Minam on campus the very first time, Minam was just another nerd. With his bowl cut, his specs, those braces and that very, very bad sense of fashion, Kevin could barely think any positive about this guy. But when others were making fun of him, he felt overly sorry for that poor fella. As luck would have it, that certain nerdy looking dude ended up as one of Kevin's university mentees and so they got to know each other better. And that's how the story began. Just another cheesy lovestory... with two guys. 

OTHER [ ★ ] Kevin is originally from Los Angeles, he just came to South Korea to study there because of his Korean roots (and because Korean Universities are not as expensive as American Universities even though they cost a ton of money still).
