Authors, you understand, right?

Authors, is it just me or does it even happen to you?

You're listening to a song, or seeing a photo or a video and it inspires you to write a story but you already have many incomplete stories so you try to forget about it. But that idea just keeps on roaming in your brain and you feel the urge to just type it out. You know that you don't have enough time to complete the before ones but you still feel like starting another one... Has it happened to you as well?

Because, right now my hands are itching to start another story which has been going on in my mind for about a week now and is also disturbing my thoughts while I'm studying. I already have 5 ongoing stories and I don't want another one to get added to the list but my mind isn't accepting to stop the urge for a new story. I don't know how to deal with it. If it has happened to you, what did you do? or how did you handle it? Please tell me!

THIS IS LITERALLY ME HOLY I want to write things but I can't even write new stories at the moment, let alone the stories I'm supposed to be working on, since I have so much stuff to do for school ._.

Haha this is the story of my life, but what you can do is write the story somewhere else so you don't forget about it and try to resist!

I know the feel. I write drabbles when I get the urge to write but it doesn't fit my stories. That way I get the idea out without writing a long story. ^^

I feel you, dear. I feel you. Well, in my case, I would jot down the ideas, scenes, or dialogues I come up for the story in my notebook. Sometimes I would turn it into oneshot if I could no longer keep the idea lingering in my head.

I always or often experience that when listening to an inspiring song or a song that suits to be a ost or sounds good like a ost and when im bored and just layong on my bed and daydreaming and ideas are appearing...there are some that i started to post here but no chapters yet same with some of my ongoing fics but I didn't continue some of my ideas cause i think its hard to have so many fics and im not pretty sure about the idea...I really could understand you..

Write it as a oneshot first, just to get it out of the ways. Or just simply noting them down as summary.

This happens all the time! I end up writing out detailed charts for oneshots or fics that I end up thinking of because...I can't handle more than one fic at a time posting/editing hahaa! So many ideas written down....

LOL!! Been there done that!! XDXD
I do start it sometimes and regret it since that only piles up to my ongoing stories... currently I have 4 stories in my draft( with one chapter done for each) and I have no idea how I am stopping myself from starting the story (Since I have five on going stories too :(:(:( )
So to be honest I have no tip to give except... be patient dear :D:D

Okay, for me, it happened like just a few days ago.
I've been working on this one shot for literally months now (I'm pretty perfectionist about it, so yeah the progress is slow), but some days ago, out of the blue in the middle of a class this story idea popped into my head. It has been occupying my mind ever since, and I just want to write it. I am already working on the first chapter and yeah, I'm planning to publish it some day soon.
What made me want to write it instead of focusing on my one shot is that I think it should be written when it's still fresh and I have an inspiration for it. If I left it for later, maybe my excitement about it would be pretty much gone as I would start working on it after publishing the one shot. Writing shouldn't be about forcing yourself to create text and forgetting about your other ideas because you have already started other stories. Stories should be written at the exact moment you have inspiration for it! :)
