❛ seoul cheer camp 2016ㅤㅤ 》audition ⋮ xuan pham ❜
elite audition : xuan pham
" how do vampire girls flirt? by batting their eyes. "
PERSONALITY TRAITS :
[+; humorous, honest, selfless, adaptable, loud]
[-; short-tempered, irrational, impatient, erted, sarcastic]
PERSONALITY : xuan is an odd box of surprises, she had always been the humorous one amongst her friends, she's known for having the tiest jokes and then gets angry when no one's laughing. her jokes are crazy lame and half the times they don't even make sense and then she sits there laughing by her self but then people laugh as well - not bc she's funny but because she sounds and looks like a dying seal. honesty is the best policy - right? xuan always spoke whatever was at the top of her head, she really didn't care whether the truth she spoke hurt anyone. especially if it were her friends. she always thought that if y'all are friends, maybe even aquaintances - you guys deserve the truth no matter what. there should be no need to say a petty lie when you're amongst friends. sometimes it comes of as rude and y but she'd always want her friends to be honest with her so she's always honest with them. growing up, she always had a soft heart whenever she saw a homeless person or orphaned kids, etc. she grew with the mentality that others matter more than her, so she'd put others before herself. you'll usually see her be the first one to offer a helping hand, no matter how difficult the situation is. she'll always be there for people even if some people don't have her back. she's adapts to things very easily - she's a quick learner basically. nothing could really slow her down or anything, once she understands the process of whatever it is, she'll conform to it very easily. xuan loves loves to be heard and having her voice out - so usually (and unintentionally) she speaks very loudly, she always has. when someone speakers louder than she does, she speaks even louder but it's usually only because she has a funnier story or she wants to tell the older girls her new jokes.
xuan may seem easy-going, but that's at least until her negative side comes out. she's really easily angered and is always quick to bark and argue back. now it may seem like she's practically sensitive to everything around her but she really isn't, it's just the things like acting dumb unnecessarily or people provoking her with topics she's sensitive about (but i think its bc she gets annoyed too easily as well). but when something truly fires her up and it's not over something little - lol sorry, you're stuck with satan for a day (or few hours or minutes depending what it is.) she tends to not be herself and starts cussing a lot more than usual, throwing things - occasionally arguing with the older ones for no reason. she's quite irrational too, when you hear, "no don't do it, it's bad" or etc, in her head it says, "BROO YES DO IT! IT COULD KILL YOU OR WHATEVER BUT DO IT GURL!!!1!!" she tends to do things without thinking and acts on impulse at times and gets worse when she's angry. she likes to do things quick and easy and hates having to wait around - especially if it's things that are routine, once she knows it, she just wants to keep moving along rather than working a bit more on it to get better. she may be young, but she's such a erted one. she always makes occasional gross jokes when people are talking, she'll just pop a few gross jokes or sayings here and there and it usually makes people stare at her and sigh and say, "ok, we're done good bye." occasionally, when she's too lazy to talk or feel that the person she's talking to is too "dumb" to explain anything too, she'll just say something sarcastic and be done with it. or when she's in a joking mood, she'll answer everything with sarcasm.
BACKGROUND : born in france, she was the youngest and the only daughter out of the three kids with two vietnamese parents who were former athletes. her father, bao pham (52) was a soccer player on the national team for vietnam when he was young and her mother ngoc nguyen (49) was a swimmer. when she was young, she loved sports but she had never tried to join one or anything herself. her parents wanted her to become an athlete just like they were and her older brothers, but being shy when she was younger, she didn't want to do any sports because she felt like she'd always embarass herself. so when she'd be at home with her grandparents while her brothers were out at their practices and so were her parents, she'd watch teen highschool movies and always enjoyed the concept of the popular girls being cheerleaders and being pretty and being able to do flips and catching people and throwing them in the air. but she never had the courage to tell her mom that she wanted to try and join cheer. when she turned six, her mom put the girl into ballet and xuan loved it. she loved wearing the tutus, the intricate dance movements all of that, until a week before her recital, she injured herself doing a wrong move and fractured her ankle. and so it proved her statement of her thinking she'd embarass herself. so she all around stopped doing ballet.
she continued school normally and continued obsessing over movies like the bring it on series and all. her parents at one point during her middle school time asked if she'd like to join cheer but immediately she denied it. she didn't want another mishap of embarassing herself, "c'mon, do a sport, vita. everyone injures themselves it's nothing to be embarassed about." her brothers tried telling her. "no! because they'll laugh that I couldn't do it correctly and didn't know what to do therefore thats why I injured myself." she huffed. during her freshmen year, she heard about an student exchange program for her to study abroad and in korea, she loved the korean culture very much so she told her parents about it and her parents thought it'd be good for to get out and explore the world a bit and agreed to let her study abroad. while studying abroad, her sophomore year, she was walking after school by a group of girls that were staring at the bulletin board - talking about a cheer camp.
"should I try out?" the short girl asked. "of course! you'd probably make it because you're pretty, eonni!" the other girl replied. xuan watched them walk away and walked towards the bulletin board and saw a flyer about the Seoul Cheer Camp. Thinking to herself that she should just be adventerous and try it out because might as well, what did she have to lose? she decided to not let her past injury get in her way and actually try and become a cheerleader like she always wanted since she was young. boy, was she in for a surprise when she realized it was much more than just the stereotypical being cute and pretty. it was intense.

" satan called, he wanted his ing job back "
RELATIONSHIPS :
▸ older brother — pierre pham (24) / basketball player + college student / quiet, serious, kind / [closeness: 6/10]xuan hadn't always been close to pierre only because of the age difference plus he was the opposite of her, he wasn't as hyper and jumpy and he was rarely home when she was growing up because he always had practice. but she usually comes to him when it comes to things that she's concerned about and needs help and advice. and he no matter how busy he was, always tried to make time for her.
▸ second older brother — mark pham (20) / college student + swimmer / jokester+prankster, loud, humorous, irrational / [closeness: 9/10] mark is practically almost exactly like her and which is why they get along and sometimes clash. even though they're four years apart, they used to hang out all the time growing up. even if mark had practice, sometimes he'd fake that he was sick just to stay at home with is little sister. but since mark left for college and xuan left to study abroad, the two don't communicate as much. they still do, occasionally once or twice every two weeks they call and catch up and make sure how each other are doing. mark is genuinely the person who tries to motivate her the most.
" bro, this rasberry looks like me "
CHEER FRIENDS :
"don't let a get in your way and if she does punch her."
▸ best friend — krystal jung (17) / tumbler / arrogant, quiet, serious / [closeness: 9/10] + the two go to school together and when xuan first came to korea and started the school, she was too shy to speak or say anything and krystal was the first person to approach her. probably relating thats how she felt when she first came to korea as well. krystal's similar to her older brother pierre, therefore xuan knew how to act around her and all, aka meaning not being an annoying loud all the time. xuan is probably the only loud person that she's able to tolerate. when the two are together, they chat the night away and do almost everything together. cry, eat, gossip, etc. they'll always defend each other no matter what and take blames for each other.
"girl, trust me. i'm about catch every single girl with one hand."
▸ temporary brother — jay park[park jaebeom] (19) / spotter / tough-guy, sarcastic, humorous / [closeness: 8/10] + jay met xuan, the new girl in camp. seeing that it was a little awkward for her at first to adapt, he offered to help her along the way. many people see him and would never think he'd be in cheer because acts like such a macho man. hence as to the reason why, he acts like he's tough and all but really he's just a softie on the inside. jay looks after her because she's still a "baby" to him and the two treat each other like siblings and love to throw insults at each other back and forth. at times, xuan would gently punch jay in the arm and he'd turn around and push her onto the ground.
RIVAL(S) :
"look at this noob, might as well just quit, you're not getting anywhere."
▸ rival / -talker — nana [im jinah] (18) / flyer / cocky, selfish, conceited / [closeness: 2/10] + being apart of the warrior team, an amazing team, of course anyone's ego would soar through the roof. xuan had always respected people older than her - especially people who were talented and amazing - unless you were nana. nana is the main flyer for the warriors, no wonder she was arrogant and cocky. honestly at first, there was no reason for xuan to dislike the girl. the girl happened to be the best friend of the person who was secretly coaching xuan after practice hours. nana knew all about it and disliked the fact he was wasting his time helping someone who was getting nowhere with that skills. she hadn't met the girl yet but heard it from wonho frequently and she'd always have crap to say about xuan even though she didn't know her personally. until she met the girl for the first time with the warriors, coming to visit the newbie team. after viewing and watching xuan, seeing how she was considerably weaker than everyone else - she threw snarky comments at the girl. sure, the first few times xuan ignored because everyone said to not let it get in her way. after a few times, nana became upset that her best friend had began spending less time with her practicing and began to help some new girl on the rival team. with that, there were times she'd record xuan and post it on social media to make fun of her. that angered xuan to the core - that began her huge dislike for nana. the huge hate between the two of them grew when they both were at the same cafe at the same time with each other's friends. nana was wearing her cheer jacket that she was showing off to her friend, xuan deciding to throw away her drink and accidentally tripped and spilt it over nana's clothes. for a second, xuan felt bad. but then she smiled and said, "oops - karma."
MEET THE COACHES AND THE CHOREOGRAPHER
HELLO xuan, WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCES IN CHEERLEADING? :
▸ yes, hello coach bora, coach jessica. /nods and smiles/. my experiences? I don't have experiences in the cheer field, in fact this is the first time I've done a sport after an injury I had when I was younger in ballet. I mean, /rubs the back of neck and chuckles slightly/ ballet is the closest thing I ever got to cheer and the movies - if that counts for anything.
WHAT POSITION ARE YOU APPLYING FOR? :
▸ being the newbie, I don't have much experience in any of the areas at all but I am applying for the base position. /grins/
DO YOU THINK YOU GOT EVERYTHING FOR THE CHEER CAMP? :
▸ well, i'm determined that's forsure. I may not be the best, but forsure I'm gonna bring everything I have and work super hard to be on this team!
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AND YOUR EXPECTATION OF THE CAMP? :
▸ my goal is to grow and become better at the sport and overcome my fear of embarassments and injuries. /laughs a bit/ fear of embarassments and injuries, pretty weird huh? when i walked into this camp, i could already sense it's definitely far from the stereotypes. it's not girls acting cute just for the guys, the whole atmosphere, everyone seemed tough and talking out the drill and took it very seriously. so really my expectations are that the camp is tougher than it looks and it might be difficult for me being the newbie, but i enjoy a good challenge. /nods again and grins with confident/
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE POTENTIAL TEAM? :
▸ well... /looks around the room/ i mean, to be quite honest - there are just some people that i find why should they be on the potential team? or etc, but hey i'm the newbie i can't really criticize anyone, I'm new to the sport! /laughs aloud/ i'm sorry, but there are people that I see that I can see that they make this team look very promising.
ANYWAYS, THIS IS ALL FOR NOW. WE'LL SEND YOU A LETTER IN A FEW! :
▸ alrighty! whoo, haha... /stands up and bow/ thanks for listening to me answer /rubs hands together/ i hope i don't seem like too much of hassle bc you know new girls are pretty like hard to manage because you have to get them to keep up, and make sure they're on track - /pauses/ and i'm rambling, i'm sorry. /bows again/ have a good day coaches!
