PERSONALITY :

Myungdae is the kind of person who tries to do whatever he can for those who need the help. He can also never turn a blind eye to those who ask for it, even if it'll just come back to bite him in the later. He's compassionate almost to a fault but will listen to anyone who wants to talk even if it's just to rant about the crappy day they had. He's also horribly honest, only because there's no way he could lie and get away with it so he doesn't even try. Now he's not so honest that people want to beat him with a hammer, most of the time, but just enough that it's refreshing and well everyone always knows exactly what he's thinking since he's not trying to hide it. Myungdae is good to have around though because he's quite tidy and will keep both the living quarters and the schedules neat and mess free. If there's something that needs to be fixed out or scheduled he's the guy to go to. He doesn't like clutter and doesn't even have to be asked to clean as he'll just do it on his own free will. He is exceptionally humble and doesn't brag about anything, even if he knows he's good. It can be quite annoying for those who are around him constantly and are just asking him to take a compliment when it's given to him as he's always trying to find a way to explain around it and that he needs to work harder to be deserving of such words. But most of all Myungdae is a simple guy. He doesn't need much to make him happy, and even if it's just a small greeting in the morning it'll damn near make his day. Seriously someone could forget his birthday and then buy him a bag of chips as an apology and all is well with him. 

"I uh wait no that's not what I was trying to say..." *sigh* "Why does it always end up like this?"

Now despite all of the good things about Myungdae he's by no means perfect, oh no. He's actually quite confusing when first getting to know him. He starts out okay and then ends up stumbling over his own tongue making people wonder if he's completely there or even knows Korean, which only makes everything worse. Some of the things that have come out of his mouth make some stop and look at him because one it didn't fit in with the conversation they were having and two it just didn't make sense. Myungdae can be pretty stiff and rigid making him an easy target as he can get flustered easily and it's a lot of fun to make his face turn tomato red. He'll stiffen up when he feels uncomfortable, and then his usual word vomit gets so much worse that's its almost funny if it wasn't for the second hand embarrassment. It doesn't come to any surprise that he's totally graceless, this guy has no tact what so ever and don't even ask him to try and show off his charming self, because well it won't be pretty but it will be amusing. He couldn't talk his way out of a paper bag and would probably apologize to it for bothering the stupid thing. Myungdae is more than willing to help anyone but when it comes to his own things and money he's actually beyond petty. He will find anyway to save a penny and it has to be something super important for him to even consider spending a small amount money. He is really timid and won't speak up about much and just takes what comes to him and nods his head even if what's being said to him isn't right and he really should speak up. 

 

BACKGROUND :　

Bang Myungdae was born in Incheon South Korea on September 23rd 1993 to a rather average family complete with a totally annoying older brother Junghwan. His brother, who was supposed to be the role model and show him the how to, instead pranked him like any other boy would do all through their childhood together. Myungdae didn't mind though and followed Junghwan along like a lost puppy when their parents were working, probably the main reason why he was teased and pranked so much being the just as annoying younger brother even though he wasn't trying. Going to school was terrifying for the young boy since he was scared about making friends and doing well so he was a disappointment, a worrywart even back then, but tried his best. He made a couple who he could talk to at lunch but he mostly kept to himself as he studied for his classes while taking extra classes on the side to just keep him busy. However his "loving" older brother did not like the fact that he was associated with the loser during all of their school years and was determined to get his brother out to have some "fun". 

Junghwan's idea of fun was not Myungdae's and when he was dragged to one of these famous get togethers and though it was him simply going out to noraebang with his brother and some friends that he had invited. It was an awkward event and he didn't know what to do, but he definitely did not want to sing. Singing was only meant for when he was cleaning an empty house or when he was humming along to the radio in the car, not in front of people who were more than likely going to make fun of him, but like most of his life he was coerced into it and stood up microphone in hand, picked a song and started singing. And he didn't . Actually he was pretty good and it surprised himself and Junghwan, who had no idea but now that he did he knew exactly what he was going to do to get his nerd brother out of the library. 

The year before Myungdae was going to graduate from high school he was once again convinced by the "loving" Junghwan to audition for the one and only SM Entertainment. It was something that took a lot of convincing however, and although he did enjoy Kpop and he couldn't get the idea of possibly being an idol out of his head he didn't think that he had the skills to make it espeically in such a big company. Unfortunately this time he was correct and didn't even make it through the front door, rejected right away. It hurt him but he didn't let anyone see it and tried to get back to his studying so he could graduate and go to college. It seemed that his life had gotten back on track until just after he had graduated and Junghwan, just wanting to help his dear little brother out, had another audition for him but this time it was a smaller company Saseum Entertainment. Myungdae had never even heard of the company, and the scars from his previous audition resurfaced. He wasn't confident but he couldn't let go of the dream he had kept tucked away in the deepest part of his brain and the hope that maybe just maybe this time would be different. He still had to be dragged to the audition escorted by Junghwan, who was hoping for some good to come, and worked up enough courage to do the best he could, smiling when it had paid off and he was accepted. Although now Junghwan had that it was all his idea over Myungdae's head forever.

▸ is a er when it comes to the dongsaengs begging him, unless it comes to them wanting him to buy something then they need to pull out the big guns for him to get his wallet out.

RELATIONSHIPS :

Myungdae never saw much of his father, their schedules never matched up and when one was hone the other wasn't, but they still had a pretty good relationship, it also helped that he didn't cause any trouble so there was no need for the two of them to argue. 
 

▸ Mother — Bang Sooyoung (47) / Chef / Loving, Kind, Funny / 7/10

His relationship with his mother was slightly better, but she too worked a lot and they didn't see too much of each other. He did go and take cooking lessons from her several times so he wouldn't starve when being home alone so they bonded more over their shared interest in cooking. 
 

▸ Older Brother — Bang Junghwan (24) / Bartender / Free Spirited, Funloving, Obnoxious / 10/10

Even though too everyone else it looked like Junghwan was just dragging his little brother to do things that he didn't want to do, which he did, it was just to try and make Myungdae see the world through his eyes and not the books he's been reading. He's the number one supporter and is always there to remind him not to give up and to give a happy swift kick in the when necessary. 
 

▸ Best Blunt Friend — Carter Kim (23) / Idol F&I / Outgoing, Daring Blunt  / 8/10

Carter is the closest thing to a best friend that Myungdae has, and are the oddest pair to see hanging around the building together. They look like they should be hating each other's guts but somehow manage to make their strange friendship work, and he doesn't mind the not so nice comments since they are what got him to not give up. 
 

▸ The Kids — Royal (Varies) / Idols / Varies / 9/10

Being one of the older members he tries to look after the others and kind of acts like their mom, cleaning up after them and being the one who was there to feed and look after them. The other half of the time he's the hyung that's easy to bully and tease because honestly it's hard to resist the urge when he's around, but it's always out of fun and never meant to hurt just embarrass beyond comprehension.

▸  Ace : Myungdae had asked the CEO about having a stage name since he wasn't so sure that his own name was going to stand out well enough and wasn't fitting for an idol and the other man had come up with and decided with Ace.

 

POSITION :　Underrated Vocalist

 

TRAINING :　

Myungdae had been training at Saseum for one year coming after it had already been opened and some of the trainees being there longer than him. It was a rough start and he struggled to keep up let alone stand out. It was thanks to the help of people within the company such as Carter, who was a great help bringing Myungdae back to his feet when he was down, by telling him to get his together and stop moping around. Those words, though not kind, was just what he needed as a verbal slap back to reality that he needed. He had gotten better at his dancing, which was kind of horrible at first, and improving his own already good singing ablitiy. There were a few rocky points in his training when he questioned why he was here when everyone else around him was so much better in his opinion, but after a good over the phone kicking from Junghwan, Myungdae had picked himself up time and time again, until it was finally his time to go out into the spotlight and show everyone just exactly what he can do.

From all of the comments wondering about Myungdae's role during their debut and how he wasn't standing out at all and somewhere on the internet someone had said that they read that he was leaving because he wasn't good enough, so it became a big thing. He wasn't planning to at all and when he had seen the article he went into an immediate panic attack reading all of the comments such ask "good ridence he as just bringing the group down" and "wow already? he must really " making him wonder if it was true and that the CEO was going to fire him just like that, making everyone else in Royal go crazy and force him to go ask himself just to ease his mind when the rumor was put to rest.

▸ Scratches the back of his head with a small unsure smile on his face. "They're uh nice?" Blinks at the statement turned question and shakes his head quickly looking panicked. "No no no that's not how I meant it! Of course they're nice and friendly especially Seojun. Not that the other's aren't just as nice as him either."

▸  "It's bittersweet and terrifying. A little sad that we're going to be the last with no other trainees to look up to us but it's worrying too. I mean the sunbaenims before us are doing great and now it's up to us to make sure all of their hardwork doesn't go right down the drain. Not that I think Royal is going to do bad and ruin the reputation you worked so hard on and invested in.... I'm just going to stop talking now." He finishes up bowing his head hoping to hide the obvious blush of humilation on his face.

"Yeah no I didn't think so either, but honestly speaking I think it's that I'm simple, and am content with the small things in life. I don't need or require too much. I swear it's a good thing. I also have really nice eyebrows?"
