What is the best way to get your story out there to the readers?

So as an author of six stories now I have been wondering how I can best get my stories out there for people to read it?

I update a couple times a week.

I do have subscribers and views, just not many upvotes.

My readers comment all the time how much they love the story.

I always comment back to them for taking the time to write to me.

I have a gang story featuring BAP: Baby Girl, You're Mine Now.

http://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/1089789/baby-girl-you-re-mine-now-angst-gangs-jrock-romance-taemin-violence-bap

It has 44 chapters, 29 votes, 562 subscribers, 13610 views, 299 comments.

I have been writing it for 2 months now. I'm not complaining because I think it a good success. I just wish I could have more upvotes. I do love that I have so many comments and I have responded to them all with appreciation for the.

My first story turned in to a trilogy: The Truth Behind the Lies, The Truth Behind the Bloodline and The Truth Behind the Rebels War.

The first two are completed with over 80 chapters and good numbers.  84 chapters, 22 votes, 294 subscribers, 2520 views, 75 comments/82 chapters, 19 votes, 195 subscribers, 3660 views, 170 comments /10 chapters, 12 votes, 106 subscribers, 1390 views, 26 comments.

My newest one that just started last week is doing well to I think:

Are You Good or Bad?

8 chapters, 8 votes, 55 subscribers, 590 views, 13 comments

So just an author asking how do I get these great stories out to more people??

A desperate author needing advice??

On my other account, I found that once I had finished my last chapter and completed my fic I got soooo many upvotes. Some readers just like to wait until the end :)

Personally, I think it has a lot to do with patience. If you're writing a good story that others enjoy then naturally your upvotes will increase over time. You can try advertising but as someone who personally gets ads on my wall and in my inbox, I'm more likely to just delete the message rather than click on the link. Don't worry and don't be too off put by the numbers, as your stories increase in popularity, so will your upvotes :)

To gain more upvotes I suggest proofreading your chapters that you've already posted. People only upvote stories that they really love, and so having typos and sentences that sound awkward will prevent them voting.
To gain more readers, just advertise more. In November I sent TONS (a ton is 2000 lbs, so yes, multiple tons of users) of pms to people who were subbed to Jackson x OC fics promoting my own Jackson x OC fic, and went from almost 100 subs to 1000 subs in a month. I also advertised on the calendar and gained 400 subs in one day. Just make sure to advertise to users who you know are active and have read other fics with the group that the story is about, otherwise they might just ignore it or not even read your message.
You can always pay shops kp to do wall posts, blog posts, ect for you. I also always add ALL of my readers as friends, that way when I make a blog post promoting a new story, a lot of them will see it and sub to that new story.
And update your stories with quality chapters, not just 500 words with 100 typos that you throw up just to get comments. Doing something like that will just make people unsub.
I also suggest (you don't have to do this is you don't want but I would if I were you) merging your shorter chapters together. I like your story Baby Girl, You're Mine Now, but I put off reading it for a long time bc there are so many chapters. But a lot of your beginning chapters are just like one page, and an average chapter length is like 7 or 8. So you could merge multiple short chapters together to cut down the number and also have longer chapters which literally everyone loves long chapters. (not too long though, like don't go past 5k I think)

I think the best advice would be to write good stories first (which you have), and then find a way to interact with your readers. I do this by asking something at the end of almost every chapter. It gets them talking and they also end up leaving feedback too. It can be any question, like "who's your favorite character so far?" or "what do you think will happen at this juncture?" <--- even silent readers sometimes answer when I ask stuff like that.

As for upvotes, they can only do that if they have karma (even though it doesn't cost). So sadly, there's nothing you can do about that. Just hope that the people who do have karma will like your story enough to upvote ^^

Also, try social media. Tumblr or Twitter are good places. I had a reader friend of mine say that she and her friends were talking about one of my stories on Twitter (I was genuinely shocked bc I thought it lmao), and they ended up spreading the word until I got 400 subscribers in one month. Now it's at like 650(?) and the story is complete.

Try making sure your descriptions are interesting (I at them bc I don't ever want to give too much of the story away), but good descriptions pull people in.

TL;DR: write interesting stories with good descriptions and encourage reader interaction! (: also thank them too, so they don't feel it was time wasted. ^^

You are doing SO much better than I. I'm extremely happy about how many subbers I do have, but like you, I would love more !! :) I am not as good a writer as you. I have subbed now to all three stories listed and hope to get around to reading them very soon. Because I know your style, I have already upvoted and look forward to a great time reading them!! Best of blessings to you!!!

Advertising, advertising and advertising.^^ You can do this by asking some ad-groups here on aff- you gotta pay by giving them karma points.
I've never asked others to ad for my stories, never ask them to upvote etc. because I want them to do it if they really think my stories deserve it (to be upvoted).. My subscribers simply find my stories on their own *I only have 2 (The Reunion; From Dragons to Unicorns)* and they comment a lot. I reply them all and thank them again and again.
I know you want to achieve more, but remember even your readers who don't upvote or comment, do care for your stories. Some don't have enough karma points to upvote or don't find the right words to tell you how they feel about it.
You'll reach what you carve for, just be patient (:

And again... you can ask advertising shops^^

Well, I spend 200 kp on advertisement and I almost gained 100 subscribers by that. I don't know if it was pure luck or not. :-)
You could also post your stories on other sites like Wattpad. :-)

Conpared to me that's pretty good. But if you have enough karma you could self advertise on walls (it costs karma now but I don't think many people would explore your story thru that). And on your story description, really politely mention that upvotes don't cost anything, so please up that button if you like this!! Or smthing.

There's like the promotion of the day, too but it gets costly... with those huge writers out there.

Good job though!

There's self advertisement..... You can also ask you friends to advertise too...... Idk... I'm not well versed in advertisement but I know that those are some possibilities..
