It’s patently obvious, and I’ve probably mentioned it like a gyubillion times (that’s a real number, y’all!), but Kim Sunggyu is darn shippable. And I don’t just mean he’s able to packaged up nice and tight and transported to various places for exorbitant fees.

(Although do let me know if you find a service that would ship Gyu to my place. Noona is willing to pay any a reasonable amount to wake up to a bibimbaby in her mailbox!)

No, I think it’s clear to anyone who’s ever beheld our dearest leader that he has chemistry with basically everyone/thing. It’s really no mystery as to why.

Why, he can be smoldering-broody-alicious…

…then—without even changing clothes!—he morphs into toothache-inducingly-sweet!

So naturally, his appeal covers a wide spectrum, thus rendering him Utterly Shippable. Just look at Woohyun wanting a piece of that! (This is why the Woogyu ship is so strong. I get it.)

I spot Yeollie wanting some of that Sunggyu sugar (Sunggyar?), too. Who can blame him, right? Even other species can’t resist our cutie commander. Look at how that adorable puppy leans into the Gyu.

(Never have I envied a dog so much.)

Yup, our salamander general is the CEO of Universal Shipping. Which makes it both easy and hard to write OTP fics about him. My own favorite Gyu ship happens to be Gyu x THE UNIVERSE, but since that’s hard to work into a fic, for my latest, I’ve settled on my most recent obsession, the still-so-very-illegal-but-fun-to-speculate-on ship of Sunggyu x TWICE’s Dahyun.

(She who is exactly one decade younger than the iest grandpa/hamster in all of Kpop. Yeah, I know.  It’s not a ship I want to sail now, okay?)

Ever since their interactions on Weekly Idol, I just couldn’t help thinking how endearing these two would be together (once Dahyun is no longer a minor, of course!). I mean, just look at how beyond-words-adorable Gyu is leading Dahyun and her fellow members in a cover dance of Bad.

And of course, how touched he was when she was the first to start dancing.

This is my current squee-inducing crackship, which is why I’m entering my fic about it, Heaven on Earth in Her Glance, into the || a s t u d y in crackships 2k16 ► a writing contest. I encourage all of you to join in with YOUR favorite crackships, Gyu-based or not. Just imagine getting other people to hop on board your “Huh? What?” vessel and watching it sail off into the sunset! (I could make a joke about wetness and whatnot, but I shall refrain.)
