Chaewon is the kind of person that usually behaves one way or another depending on how close or how well she knows someone. Out of politeness she's friendly and would talk to someone to just break the ice even though to her it may seem out of place and awkward. This leads to Chaewon being easy-going as she would rather be relax and calm instead of uncomfortable and hostile in the environment. Luckily Chaewon is able to adapt in her surrounding without totally feeling like an oddball, although she doesn't mind being a wallflower at times as well. Chaewon also has a great deal of having empathy for someone or something and tries to perceive many things from different perspective and not be closed-minded often. Chaewon can be a playful person if she has created a bond with them where their relationship can be at that level. Sometimes it takes a while only because she doesn't trust so easily and usually treads the water before diving in completely. Sometimes it just depends on the situation and Chaewon wants to assess it.

It's how Chaewon is realistic. Sure she's quite imaginative and open-minded, but Chaewon reminds herself that there are times when she has to think of real life and those around her. It's why she's reserve with people and likes to see and know how they are before becoming closer. Chaewon dislikes it when people judge others as many people have misjudged her lots of time, but than again Chaewon knows it's only human nature to do so. So Chaewon has to remind herself to not be so biased and try to be fair and see the gray within the black and white. Life is never that easy and Chaewon knows that for sure although the struggles are never that easy to deal with, but that what makes life refreshing and the rewards favorable. Anyways, Chaewon prefers to compromise instead of choosing or doing one over the other, unless it's sports or something easy since most things in life can be judge fairly without complicating the matters further.

Even if Chaewon can remind herself all of the positive things in life, she knows that the negativity has to come and go as well. Chaewon can be impulsive and say and do things that may make her regret it afterwards and may also seem insensitive and like a jerk, too. This can make her become stubborn if she's a firm believer of something or doesn't want change as Chaewon has been comfortable with how things have been. It could also mean the changes of doing one thing one way and now having to do it another way. Sometimes it would make her clumsy, not because Chaewon has two left feet or is accidental prone per se, but it's because she's unfamiliar and unskilled with it all. Which leads to Chaewon being absentminded at times as Chaewon either forgets and gets lost in the focus or is mentally tired and wants something to distract herself from it all. Somehow stuff life this can make Chaewon passive-aggressive without her realizing it. Even if she's frustrated or angry, she'll keep her composure in a calm-like way, but her voice and words will betray her as they'll come out differently then Chaewon has initially wanted it to and may sound different to the receiver.

All in all, Chaewon usually says that she's the best example of the saying, 'don't judge a book by its cover'. Chaewon knows that people will already think of her one way or another not because they know her, but because they know of her or of how she portrays herself. Chaewon won't go out of her way to change someone's mind of what they think of her, but she will give them the opportunity to get to know her better if they wish, and to find out what kind of bond to form with Chaewon as well. So like before, Chaewon will act and behave one way or another depending on the level of trust, one on one connection, different forms of bonding, and the personal closeness she feels with someone on those many levels. For Chaewon, once you step into her life and want to be a part of it, she's forever got your back and will be there for you to her best ability. She doesn't forget those who have done her good or wrong, and pays it back ten fold except the evil part. those who done her wrong, Chaewon lets karma get back at them for that.

⟪ BACKGROUND ⟫

1996. Chaewon was born in Seocho, Seoul, South Korea on the 26th of January in 1996 as a fifth generation to a rich family where the parents' income came from their many years of being in the medical field. She was actually a mistake and wasn't planned to be born at all. Her older brother, Jaeshin, was the only one planned and was supposed to be an only child. Her parents were both stressed by work and had drank a lot one night while talking with one another about the medical field and its achievements and advancement that led to Chaewon being conceived later. Her mother couldn't abort her as to not lose face, but would always remind Chaewon because of carrying her for ten long months, her mother had lost two very important opportunities to write her research on internal medicine.

2001. At the age of five, she attended the French School of Seoul located in Seocho alongside her brother who was eleven at the time and took up ballet to appease her parents for being such a burden to their lives as how they would subtly tell her whenever they see her and such. Chaewon figured that if she became a top ballerina, that they would appreciate her more and be proud of her like how they were proud of her brother for being highly intelligent.

2003. When TVXQ debuted, Chaewon's best friend, Dasol introduced her to the world of K-Pop thanks to her older sister. Chaewon was curious about it as her parents never really let her listened to anything else beside classical music. So Chaewon asked Jaeshin about it and he gave her a huge grin and introduced her to all of K-Pop and even more beyond that. This piqued her interest when she saw how many of them moved their bodies that was unlike the structure of ballet. Chaewon asked Jaeshin about it, and he told her that there were many forms of dancing besides ballet, and she asked her brother if he could show her more and many teach her some of it. Jaeshin told her he could, but couldn't let mom or dad found out about it. She agreed a bit unsure as she didn't want to cause her parents harm, but then again, they still barely acknowledged her.

2008. By this time, Chaewon was doing ballet while in school as she did enjoy the activity and didn't care about appeasing her parents anymore. But out of the French school she would attend a dance workshop to learn other dance forms with her friend Dasol. This led to Chaewon participating in a talent show at the French school where she and Dasol and a few other girls doing Wonder Girls' So Hot. They didn't win first place, but they did place third and Chaewon felt happy about it. Later in the year, her, Dasol, and some other girls did Wonder Girls' Nobody for another talent show and she was later scouted by a SM agent who stopped by to check it out as he had noticed her the last time she did So Hot, but had brushed him off. She just didn't think joining an entertainment or whatever was a good idea and didn't go and ignored the agent every time he would approach her after school and after her time at the dance workshop.

2009. Chaewon told Jaeshin about it several months later, and he encouraged her to just go try out for the auditions and see where it would lead her since he knew his sister really enjoyed dancing a lot and it had brought out a side of her he wished his parents would see and appreciate. Also, he knew that she wouldn't be happy in finding a career in the medical field, nor being a ballerina despite enjoying it. When they brought it up to their parents during their rare dinner time, they rejected the idea instantly. Telling their daughter that becoming someone in the industry was worthless and not even fitting for the family. She tried to give her input, but they kept shutting her down and interrupting her and to not dream of a silly dream. Jaeshin had enough and defended Chaewon's dream and interest in this direction. There was a moment of silence, but the parents relented in favor of Jaeshin, but told Chaewon, when she was done living out her silly dreams, she'll go back to school and get a degree in the medical field. Happy, Chaewon thanked Jaeshin later when their parents weren't around and after contacting the SM agent the next day, Jaeshin accompanied Chaewon to her auditions. Surprisingly she was accepted into being a trainee after making it to the final round and realizing that TVXQ was from SM Entertainment made it more exciting as she really owed her thanks to them for having her discover another world.

• thunder [it makes her anxious when she hears the loud unexpecting vibrations that irks her ears and lingers a bit after]
• lightning [because it could strike you at any time if not careful, and it just makes her anxious as she would count to see how many miles they are away when they flash unexpectantly]

Not much of a relationship as he is always busy. He puts his career before his own children, well more like his daughter since Jaeshin is in the medical fieled as well. Plus, he still doesn't approve of her choice to pursue a music career that hardly seems career worthy. Sometimes Chaewon doesn't even recognize her own father unless she's actually focusing and thinks about it. The only thing she knows for sure is his work title.

Again, not much of a relationship as she is always busy focusing more of her time doing research and looking up information instead of spending time with her daughter and such. Sometimes doesn't recgonize her own mother just like her father. She for sure just knows her mother's work title.

Unlike his parents, Jaeshin is the brotherly type and isn't so serious. He is playful, talkative, and carefree. Jaeshin has a tendency to see life and those around him with more brightness than dullness. He tries to make any situation less tense and more light-hearted as much as possibe. Maybe one of the reasons on why he never shuts up and goes on and on nonstop. People wonder when he finds the time to breathe. Anyways, because of is carefree nature this also makes him approachable and likeable by kids and adults alike. You can't but help to find yourself spilling your worries and life story to him without judgement.

: Relationship with your character :
He's really close with Chaewon and almost to the point where she sees him as both a brother and a parental figure. He's protective of her, yet he teases her the most. Some say he has a sister complex to which to this very day he doesn't deny nor confirm. One moment he can be the big brother, and the next he's the one that Chaewon has to make sure doesn't get into too much trouble. But without a doubt, Jaeshin will drop whatever he's doing for his baby sister and gives her the time of day whenever she needs it (or doesn't want it, but he knows that she does on the inside).

Dasol is sweet, mischievous, and supportive. Dasol knows how to comfort people without being overly sweet and sugar-coating her words that doesn't really help the person. She can also be mischievous when she wants to be and depending on how close she is to the person as well. She likes being subtle and sneaky whenever possible, though. Overall, Dasol is super supportive and loves to cheer on her family and friends as it encourages them and brings up their spirit.

: Relationship with your character :
They were classmates at FSoS and over time grew closer and talked to one another as they saw each other as more than just friends and classmates since being in the same class since kindergarten. Dasol is someone that Chaewon can depend and rely on whenever she can't get in touch with her brother, and who isn't as obnoxious as him. Chaewon trusts her a lot and knows that Dasol will always be there for her and vice versa since Dasol always wanted a sister and so does Chaewon.

At first Koyuki is shy and awkward with strangers and people she isn't close with, but once you get to know her does she become super loyal to you and have your back always. Once you're around her often enough do you see that she's a bit stubborn, overthinks everything, has sort of a high pride complex, and can also be a bit indecisive at times, too. Overall, Koyuki is people-pleaser, can be a tad emotional, and laughs at the lamest joke, but that makes her Koyuki at the end of the day.

: Relationship with your character :
They were awkward with one another. Awkward turtles is what Chaewon would used throughout their first interactions with one another, but eventually over time, they got pass that. Now they converse casually without any awkwardness even though Chaewon would roll her eyes at Koyuki's tendency to laugh at small things making the younger woman laugh for longer than usual. Anyways, Chaewon has to make sure that Koyuki doesn't overwork herself, she hates seeing the girl in that state.

Saeran may come off as unapproachable, disinterested, and cautious if you're a stranger or someone she's not really comfortable with, but she can be a very ambitious individual with lots lof confidence. It's because Saeran is an independent woman that knows her morals by seeing the world through black and white despite knowing there is a gray area in-between them. Of course she's a bit prideful and has a temper with a foul mouth to go along with it, but it's a defense mechanism as she has trusting issues. Overall, Saeran can be loyal and has a way with words, in the end it only matters to those that she cares for.

: Relationship with your character :
The two didn't get along at all at first, or well more like didn't talk with one another that often due to Saeran's cold front and Chaewon's basic polite manners not going beyond that. Eventually after training with one another do the both of them see how the other is like and got pass their intial impression of the other. Chaewon has to make sure to keep Saeran's mouth in check deespite knowing the girl doesn't mean any harm by it.

⟪ TRAINEE LIFE ⟫

Chaewon's trainee life was, well, honestly a full-blown roller coaster ride filled with the good, the bad, and all the other little things in-between that comes with it all. Chaewon wasn't used to such a schedule of waking up, practice, rest, practice some more, eat, practice, another rest, practice again, and practice once again. And then doing it all over and over again day after day. Day in. Day out. The same things every day with the same group of people. Sure it was a daily routine and needed for her to debut, but for Chaewon at first it was a really rigorous schedule that she wasn't sure she wanted to continue with for long if it was going to be like this.

Sure Chaewon cried a lot, whined a lot, got frustrated, wanted to quit it all, but she would never allowed herself to give up like that. Plus, Chaewon didn't want to be a let down to herself when the others have practically been doing this as much as her and wanted it more than she ever did, but she couldn't just give in like that. Because Chaewon knew she was given this opportunity, and Chaewon didn't want to seem like she was being weak, being a 'crybaby', and the likes from her parents who would just say "I told you so". With that in mind, Chaewon knew she couldn't give up, especially when her brother did so much for her to pursue this dream and continued to give it her best shot as she's come this far and can't just call it quits so easily after putting so much into her training this far.

One of Chaewon's personal struggle and still is even to this day was the fact of getting the other trainees to see eye to eye with one another. Chaewon had major difficulties with this, and no matter how many times she warmed up the ideas of getting along and just tolerating one another, it would only work for a bit before everyone reverted back to how they were. Even though she felt they could all have chemistry if they just try, but there was something that still caused discord among them. Chaewon felt even more troubled when a lot of them told her to stop acting like she was the leader when she wasn't even a leader as none of them had to listen to her since she was in the same boat as them, despite being older than a few of them. Anyways, Chaewon still kept at it because there had to be at least one person that was the voice of reason and would help balanced out things from time to time without everyone going at each others throat.

Chaewon was scouted in late 2008, but didn't audition for SMent until early 2009 when she was thirteen years old. A few years later, Chaewon was officially introduced to the public as the third batch of SM Rookies being revealed in December of 2013 on the 16th as part of SM Rookies along with Mark, Hansol, Jisung, Johnny, Ten, and Yuta. Chaewon was also a potential member for Red Velvet's final lineup, but wasn't chosen and later Yerin replaced her slot instead when she was added to Red Velvet several months later.
