helpp?

SO, recently I have started attending pre-U already after I've received my results and all. During my last orientation day, we were told to choose 2 clubs. 1 sports and another one is our own choice. I decided to take volleyball as my sports club(thanks to haikyuu influence- xD) and another one is the choir(cuz honestly they were so amazing during the orientation. it gaves me goosebumps hearing them sing)

So the thing is now...I'll be having an audition by this wednesday for the choir club to determines which parts(alto, bass, trenor, soprano) suits us and were told to sing any song we like. Here's come the problem- I don't know what song to sing o-o

One of my friends told me to sing taylor swift-blank space(but im not sure if i can sing that song well), another one told me to sing JB-love yourself(but im not that confident singing the opening too), another one again told me to sing adele-hello(he must have gone crazy to choose this song for me o-o) My seniors requested for some old-skool songs like wildlife(but i know none of them neither do i know any of the oldskool song o-o) they also said its better to get ready more than one song.

I don't really know many english songs to be honest since to be honest I didnt listen much to them unless someone told me to listen to one. There's one song that I think might suits me well (One Call Away-Charlie Puth) but it might be better to know if theres more song that suits me as a backup ones...so yeah can you guys help to suggest some songs for me?? TT^TT

If it's for choir, I suggest you to sing a song from group rather than individual... like maroon 5's song or one direction's song... if you have strong and loud + a bit seductice voice, I think singing songs like animals, sugar, what makes you beautiful will suit you. But if your voice chatacteristic is soft and high, then I guess songs like the story of my life, or sam smith's songs.

Usually, in choir their audition is based on your ability to sing, if you pass that, and you're not tone-deaf, then they'll put you in choir and figure out your pitch by testing you with appregios or scales on the piano. A female's voice usually falls under alto / soprano. You should definitely choose any song that suits you and your voice. Along with the fact that you think you can sing well with it . Also, you must be confident and comfortable with that song. Seriously, even if you sing your national anthem, it won't be a problem. As long as you sing it well and people recognise your voice for potential to improve. I'm saying all this based on experience :D Plus, I major in vocal. Don't worry too much. Just sing what you think is best.

hey aero~
i would agree with ur senior for old school song, like westlife/nysnc/bsb and such. butttt better to find a song which you familiar first. hehe

hummm i think, just my 2cent, one call away is abit too high for u? but i hvnt heard ur recent vocal color so maybe u cn try to do full practice on that song first? like if u wish to sing the first half/second half of the song. like a do a full rehearsal first.
for backup song, maybe any taylor swift song? any ballad or pop. hehe
