background : miyeon is an only child and grew up in an upper-middle class house hold in incheon. her mother put her into ballet when she was 2 years old and miyeon took to it like a duck to water (despite her dislike of the prim and proper fru-fru-ness of it, and classical music). she always made sure to stay at the top of her class as she advanced to harder and harder levels. in late primary school she branched out a bit into jazz and hip hop as well (and discovered electronic music), but always kept ballet as her main focus, deciding then that she'd own her own dance studio one day and become a cheorographer. she didn't even consider being an idol until one faithful night in her last year of middle school when her ballet dance intructor, who was treating miyeon and a few other members of the studio out to dinner and karaoke after having won an important competition, heard miyeon sing and insisted the she seriously consider being an idol - saying her passion to perform and talent should be shared with a much larger audience. and so, having great respect and admiration of her instructor and seeing that vixx was her favorite idol group at the time, miyeon decided to audition for jellyfish entertainment and she became a trainee when she was only 15 years old.

TRAINEE life : miyeon joined jellyfish via an open audition just before her 16th birthday and was the final member added to the lineup for "luckie". at first her training schedule was light since she was a new high school student and they wanted to give her time to learn how to balance her school and training schedules. althought the commute from incheon to seoul and back multiple times a weak quickly took its toll on miyeon so she transfered to School of performing arts seoul for her second and third years of high school and was able to move into a dorm with her other luckie unnies. despite suffereing from homesickness at first, this being miyeon's first time away from her parents, she quickly adjusted and grew especially close with all the other girls. she is known as "jellyfish's best-kept secret" since she didn't do anything predebut until mid-2015. miyeon got her tattoo the day after her 19th birthday. she will actually be graduating high school a week after debut on febuary 16th.

how do you feel about debuting after three years of training?
"i'm so excited to finally show the world how hard we've been working for the past three years. [luckie] are very close and we wish to bring our fans in close as well and make them proud to call themsleves aces!"
what are your thoughts about the other members?
"[they] are the sisters i never had. they're my second family. sometimes i wish they wouldn't baby me as much but i also realize that sometimes i need looking after." giggles
how close are you to vixx? do you have a favorite?
"All of [luckie] are close with our vixx sunbaes. I'm especially close with hakyeon-oppa [N] and sanghyuk-oppa [hyuk]since we three practice dancing together a lot."

"son gain's confidence and iness are really appealing to me, i always try to emulate her allure when i'm preforming. i've also been a fan of 4minute since their debut and look up to all of them as well."
if you couldn't be an idol, what would you do for a living?
"I would probably persue a career in ballet and modeling, perhaps even acting. but i would also want to go to university and get a business degree so that i can open my own dance studio one day."
