PERSONALITY:

jian doesn't really talk to much anyone, majorly because of the language/cultural barrier, but also because he doesn't have that big of a need to talk to others - he's very good at staying on top of his own physical/mental/emotional well-being (something the managers all love about jian because he's the one they have to worry about the least). when he wants/needs to do something, consider it done cause he'll work himself to the grave until its accomplished. hand in hand with that, he isnt lazy to any degree and will put in all the effort required of him to always have the best/desired outcome, whether in school work, dance or traning to be an idol. jian feels things quite intensely and is able to communicate all that he feels through his dance. however, when hes not dancing or performing on stage, he doesnt really express his emotionas at all; he's perfectly happy just sitting and listening/watching things take place around him without necessarily participating. he's highly coordinated and is always aware of his body and so he doesn't easily loose his balance or accidentaly knock into people/things ever. jian hates imposing on people so he never/is really bad at standing up for himself when he should.

BACKGROUND: 

jian had a nice childhood growing up in changsha, the capital of the hunan providence in south-east china with his mother and father. when he was 6 he started doing ballet, but he didn't like it much since his mother would always spank him to prctice but then when he was 10 he started winning awards at competitions and he started to like it then since he liked being the best at something. then in middle school he had a friend who danced hip-hop and was really popular with girls and so jian started doing hip-hop and freestyle dance as well. when he was 15 and started high school, he got picked up by banana plan entertainment - an entertainment company in china - and started training a bit with them, improving his dancing and singing, starting to learn korean (since korea and china share a lot of idols) and also dyed his hair for the first time. then, on june 8, 2016 meng jia from the girl group miss a joined banana plan as well after her contract with jyp expired back on may 20. jian met jia there and the two became good friends since jia came from loudi, the next closest major city to changsha in the hunan province, and because the two are both skilled dancers and would often have dance-offs with each other. then, around the end of august 2016, jia sent a video of jian dancing ( part 1, part 2, part 3) to jyp himself and told him that he should take jian as a trainee - and since jia left jyp entertainment on good terms, jyp contacted jian and invited him to come to seoul and officially audition for the company. after a private audition ( here, watch until 1:23) with jyp himself and a few other of the coaches at jyp, jian offically became a jyp trainee in september of 2016 and then was actually one of the first trainees chosen to be a part of sixteen 2 when talk about having a boy group version of the show first started.

TRIVIA:

╳ when jian was 12 he got really into the online pc game league of legends. his favorite character is lucian and that is the true inspiration behind his stage name
╳ jian is actually a big fan of both gallant, frank ocean and the weeknd, in that order
╳ jian is panual, meaning he's cool with dating whoever, guy/girl/trans/queer/etc.

╳ he spends most of his free time each day in a free dance studio at the jyp building just freestyling to what ever song he's into atm
╳ he likes going shopping but thanfully is very good with budgeting his money so although he goes shopping a lot, he's never broke/always somehow has money (this fact amazes the other trainees)
╳ he refuses to ever take caffine or sleep pills

╳ have all the trainees do a two days one night episode where they go to a mountain retreat to see who gets along well with everyone and who if any body doesn't and jyp and the coaches watching are worried about jian at first cause he's so wuiet/keeps to himself but then jian comes out of his shell a bit by the end of the episode and becomes close to one of the other trainees *friendship sparkles*
