(the wealthy should live how the wealthy should be) since young, she has been taught manners by her mother and shown love by her parents. she is polite to strangers, her housekeepers, butler, gardeners, and even waiters. rather than being so because she has to "act like a lady", she is humble because she thinks that all jobs are important and she does not think that she is better than them just because her parents are wealthy. her mother brings her to volunteer since she was a kid and she has always enjoyed it. that was also where she first met a girl named park minhi, who at that time was really uncomfortable with her since they were not only from different worlds (at that time) but also haeun is one of the most polite person minhi ever met. she is generous to friends and family, both with her time and money. she remembers her close friends' (including the housekeepers') and family's birthdays and would, without fail, buy or make something for them. whenever someone feels down, she would definitely spend time with that person to listen to them, or try to cheer them up. she is also a virtuous person, so when she wished to go to south korea, her parents were not worried that she would be led astray.
(but sometimes it gets difficult) haeun has quite a few problems. the first and foremost is her being overly considerate. she thinks too much for other people that it might make her feel miserable inside, but for the sake of seeing other people happy, she still goes along with them. it drives her crazy and she keeps trying to change this and think more for herself, but she is still unable to. her indecisiveness might also stem from the first trait of hers, since she would not be able to make a decision if two parties are on opposing grounds. it is easier on her if other people make a decision for her, even if she might not like it as much. she gets emotional easily, though whatever that emotion is, most of them leads to her crying. she laughs so hard until she cries, she is so angry that she cries, she is so touched that she cries, she is sad so... you get the drift. her timidness is also trouble for her sometimes. she gets scared by so many things, and really easily. she absolutely hates halloween because of all the scary costumes, and when that time comes once a year, she would hide in her house while her friends go trick-or-treating, and her housekeepers and guards would be giving the candies to the children all the way outside the gate just so she does not accidentally see them. she might be good at learning other things, but things to do with academics, like languages (other than english), science and math, is something she was, is and will never be good at. she might be one of the favorite students of her teachers, but she still cannot escape being the bottom ten of her classes, perhaps only getting good scores from art and music. she does not even get good grades for japanese and korean since she is so bad at writing.
(and as always...) she is really feminine. it might be due to her mother, who was elegant and feminine all the time. she could learn to be ladylike from her mother, but while trying to be graceful, her clumsiness would always spoil everything. she gets papercut, she knocks into people, she cannot see the glass door in front of her and walks into it, and et cetera. luckily for her, she is the type that trips but never falls, and would at least be saved from the embarrassment of sprawling all over the floor and getting her photo caught by the cameras/paparazzi. however, that would not work well for she, being a dreamer, had fantasies that she would be saved by her prince when she was falling down, with his arms wrapped around her and all that jazz.

( 1996 - 2011 ) born in 1996 with a silver spoon, to the wealthy second generation ceo of the jung empire, jung jae hoon and the famous japanese singer, kyoko mogami, jung haeun grew up in new york with loads of love and money. her parents met when kyoko came to new york to study as a well-deserved break after being under the limelight since she was a kid, and jae hoon was studying in the same university, though in a different faculty. a few of their electives turned out to be the same and after working in the same project groups a few times, they gradually fell in love. after they got married in 1993, kyoko still continued working but she decided to stop when haeun popped out, though she does occasionally perform when her close friends invited her back to japan. sadly, even though they tried hard to have a second child, they were never able to.
as previously noted, haeun is bad in studies. she tries really hard to do it at first, but in the end she will realize that there is more to life than studying, like helping others, making friends, among many other activites... at least that is what she keeps telling herself. after seeing minhi for the first time during the only time minhi went to volunteer, she liked minhi but the latter was uncomfortable with her. it was not until kyoko had an emergency nail problem and went to the nail salon where minhi's mom worked, and they got along really well so kyoko became a regular customer, that haeun and minhi met again. slowly, very slowly, they got closer, and began to hang out almost everyday.
being such close friends who go to each other's house without any phone call to inform the other can also be a huge problem, which the two girls found out three weeks after minhi left for south korea. they had promised "to write letters to each other, and with minhi sending the first and let haeun know her new address", only to find out that while she could easily walk to where haeun stayed blindfolded, she had no idea about the actual address. there was no phone number that she had saved in order to call haeun and ask for the address either. and that was how the two girls lost contact for 4-5 years. haeun missed minhi and spent her time continuing to be bad in studies and watching dramas.
( 2012 ) it started at the beginning of 2011 when haeun had really wanted to study in south korea for the rest of her high school years (obviously after fantasizing from watching a korean high school romantic drama but she would never admit it to others). however, it took her almost 10 months before she dared to even mention it to her mother, and even when she did she was hemming and hawing. surprisingly to her, her mother was supportive of the idea and told her that she would definitely be taken care of by minhi and her family. that was when haeun first got to know that their mothers were in contact and felt dumb for not asking her mother for it the past 4 years. her father was more reluctant but gave in after his wife sweet-talked him into it (and kind of reminded him that his daughter needs to learn to grow up and be independent), but he made haeun promise to return immediately if she ever feels unhappy or stressed out there (since from his own experience, korean high school is usually unlike haeun's fantasies).
she became part of the star club, for pretty obvious reasons. she did try hard... initially, when she first entered jeguk, only for her to fail one subject after another and she decided that she should go join a volunteer group in korea or something. it was also difficult for her at first since she was not that used to korean as compared to her native language. she could make do with living but her mastery of korean is obvious during their tests and exams. since she has one of the lowest grades, but her parents are both wealthy and famous in their respective industries and donates a lot to the school, the principal would be really upset with her yet she is unable to do anything since she does not want regret forcing the child of such successful people to leave. the only people she managed to get close to in such a competitive environment are her childhood friend minhi, new best friend jonghyun, and guy-she-is-in-an-ambiguous-relationship-with taemin, and she also gets along with the rest of the star club members who took the initiative to talk to her, since she is not one who plucks up the courage to start a conversation with others. when baekho club was helping the star club, haeun also befriended jinki, since it seemed that he was the only one who could help her. he tutored her in a way that she understood, which no other people were patient enough to, nor could do. obviously she did not get to be one of the top scorers even with his help, but her grades did improve and she was passing all of her subjects... well, just slightly passing but still... that was a great improvement from previously failing 90% of it.
( 2022 ) she had become a successful hollywood actress, and she feels the pressure since she is one of the few famous asian american actresses who got to be the protagonist. she was trying to stay busy to forget taemin after moving back to new york, so she joined a drama club in the new school she transferred to in new york, and she really liked it. her mother saw her talent and passion and decided to support her by using her contacts in the entertainment industry. starring in the third season of popular mystery comedy "little miss detective", she is the female lead and only asian in the show. when she is not filming the show, she would occasionally star in movies, and she especially support indie films with good scripts. she had been in a steady relationship with jinki since 2020, after they met again in 2017, when he invited her through jonghyun to act in his movie, "the young ones", and she flew back to south korea for the first time after she left. she stays with her parents when she is in new york, but she bought her first apartment in los angeles with her own money, for when she is filming there. jonghyun was pestered by the principal and his good friend, the principal's child, to go to the party and that "he must bring haeun along" since her appearance would definitely help the principal. with both minhi and jonghyun persuading her as they did not want to go alone with each other, she flew to south korea where her boyfriend lives, with prayers that she would not see taemin during the party.
jonghyun managed to get her into a movie deal after the reunion, since she is "slacking in new york for the next four months with little miss detective on their five months break anyway", as told by him. however, it was to be filmed in korea. being able to see jinki more often is a good thing, but she was worried about bumping into taemin, because how big is the entertainment business in south korea? jonghyun's puppy eyes won her over though; she can never say no to him when her best friend gives her that expression. and so, she spent the next four to five months with jonghyun and jaeri back in the country she had planned never to return.
trivia :
- she loves to watch Korean dramas, with the excuse that it helps to improve her korean. but since she is easily emotional, she tends to focus on their feelings and get influenced by them easily, and until 2012, she still needs to use english subtitles to understand most of the words (like at least 70% of the drama).
- hates the taste of artificial banana flavor.
- hates garlic and onions. it is alright if she cannot taste and see them, but once she can, she will pick them out one by one and only eat when it is garlic/onion-free.
- doesn't drink coffee nor alcohol (when they have to network, jonghyun and jaeri are usually the ones drinking for her and they would give the lie... i mean, excuse that she is allergic to alcohol).
- loves sweets stuff the most, especially matcha latte, macarons, white chocolate and lemon sweets.
- loves tea and has a collection of tea leaves from all around the world, tea sets and also knows tea preparation for different cultures; she is especially good at japanese tea ceremony.
- loves stars and has her own telescope in the backyard back in new york. since she is unable to bring it to korea, she bought a small telescope to tide her through the period there. she loves to lie on the grass and look up at the clear starry sky.
- is scared of the dark, so unless someone is sleeping in the same room with her, she needs the lights on. usually her corgi, trevor (which minhi met) and silver poodle, ollie (which was only adopted after minhi left) sleeps with her back in new york.
- as of 2022, trevor has sadly passed away but they got another corgi named tigger two years before trevor's passing in 2019.
- she and her father has an inside joke where she sings horribly off-tune in front of her mother. till this day, kyoko still thinks her daughter has her husband's singing ability, when in reality haeun has no confidence in her voice and is airy but she still sings on pitch.

- "diamond is a girl's best friend" but it does not apply to her. in fact, she does not really like any bling, glitter or sparkling jewels. she dreams about having a wedding ring made of white gold with her and her husband's thumbprint on the inside of the ring instead of one with any gems on top. unless it is necessary (like for her shows or the red carpet), she usually wears her favorite pearl stud earrings only and no other jewelry.
- she loves the color blue since she was a kid, and it has never changed.
- her favorite flower is felicia amelloides, because of the name, its color and also the fact that not many people know about it, unlike flowers like roses, tulips and sunflower.
- her second favorite flower is forget-me-not, which was her and taemin's "flower of love", as they called. when they were planning to run away, one of the places they wanted to go to was a field full of forget-me-nots.

- she doesn't have much strength, but she often does fantasize about acting as a female superhero, and fight evil. however, she cannot seem to pass the auditions, and she not only does not go to the gym, her bags are usually carried by jaeri as she gets tired after carrying heavy items for awhile, and jaeri is strong. really strong.
- she loves horse and would go for horseback riding whenever she is free. she does not have her own horse but she is a regular at "chateau stables".
- when she thinks back to 2012, part of her does feel bad for asking taemin to run away with her, as taemin's mother will be worried about him and upset that he had left her after his father was gone.

CHAPTER FOUR - important
"they are always there by me. always."

father : jung jae hoon : 47 (57) : they don't spend much time together other than the daily "goodbye dad" and "welcome home dad" kisses since she was a kid. the only days he is free are on sundays, when he will spend the whole day with his wife and daughter, and even that is limited to when he does not need to travel overseas on a business trip. he tries his ultimate best on those days teaching haeun korean, or horseback riding, or simply walking the dogs together. between the parents, he is the more overprotective one and treats haeun as his little princess. whenever he could, he would make the bodyguards follow his daughter, which made her prefer to stay at home most of the time after minhi left.
mother : kyoko mogami : 46 (56) : she spends more time with her daughter compared to her husband, as she would bring haeun along even when she has to go to japan for performances, which was the reason why haeun is better in japanese than korean. the only time she is away from her daughter is when she goes on business trips with her husband. she loves her daughter but perhaps due to how she herself was brought up, she prefers her husband not to be so protective, but let haeun be more independent, as she feels the girl is unable to take care of herself. she is also the one who taught haeun manners and ettiquette, and brings her along to volunteer and help others.

close childhood friend : Park minhi : 16 (26) : haeun absolutely loves minhi's dimples, she would usually poke them, though minhi would get upset as she hates skinship. even though minhi was initially uncomfortable with her, they got closer through their love of stars and hatred of horror, which led to minhi willing to be friends with her. after they met again in south korea, minhi, who uses vulgarities frequently, somehow could not bring herself to use them when she is in front of haeun, seemingly because the girl is from her *coughpurechildhoodcough* and she is too clean of profanities minhi simply cannot bring herself to say it. minhi and haeun, even after almost five years of losing contact (stupidly they just did not ask their mothers for it, and their mothers simply thought they would not be so stupid and would ask if they did not have each other's contact), when they met again they immediately talked like there was no time gap at all. they tell each other little secrets and are protective over the other. in 2012, when minhi was planning to fly back to new york, haeun had just been heartbroken and thus, she decided to follow minhi back home. in 2022, when they met the alumni during the party, minhi hates taemin because she knows first hand how it ended between them and how haeun is deeply hurt by it since it was her first love. she tries to prevent him from getting close to haeun again, since now both of them are famous in the entertainment industry and haeun is dating jinki, and any mistakes can cost haeun her reputation and job. she somehow does not get along with jonghyun, always trying to keep jonghyun physically away from haeun if possible (and also pranking him) and this leads to jonghyun doing the same things to her.
best friend : kim jonghyun : 16 (26) : jonghyun was haeun's knight in shining armor. she got lost during her first week in jeguk and was accidentally locked inside a room. the lazy jonghyun had been slacking inside the room and woke up to find a sobbing and scared haeun (who had left her bag with her phone in class). the room was dark since it was a storage room and there were no windows. jonghyun had to console the girl for hours since there was no signal in the underground room, until minhi came since haeun did not go back to get her phone, finding the girl. jonghyun kept calling her crybaby and she treated him as her knight, until one project came and they got close, and their nicknames and relationship changed. She calls him jjong after they became close friends. he loves to have skinship with her, and would usually walk next to her with his arms around her shoulders. they kept in close contact even after she left, and he is the only one other than minhi to know what happened between taemin and haeun. When she became an actress, she asked him to be her manager and he agreed. he cannot stand being alone with minhi, and only reluctantly hangs out with her if there is haeun as well.
personal assistant and confidante : chae jaeri : 27 (in 2022) : they only got to know each other after haeun got famous and her mother advised her to find a personal assistant to help her lessen her burden. jaeri was introduced by her mother's friend and during the interview, somehow haeun really likes jaeri and thus, they worked together from then on, and both never thought to change. jaeri helps haeun in both her work and personal life, especially since her character complements the girl's. she is level-headed, decisive, practical, straightforward and kind. she basically flies all around the world with haeun, both on holidays and professional work. she is someone haeun goes to for advice and comfort.
close friend and jinki's buddy : lee changsun : 27 (in 2022) : he is not from their school and haeun first met him 2017 when she worked on "the young ones", which was directed by jinki. changsun is a famous scriptwriter who wrote the script for that film and they got acquainted. changsun is very talkative and would usually spew gossips about the industry to haeun. when they are alone, changsun is usually the talker and haeun the listener, which actually makes haeun really comfortable. changsun knows that haeun does not drink, and would bring her to afternoon tea even though he will get stares from other people (he really does not care though). since they live in two different countries, they generally send each other texts, calls or emails. he will also occasionally tag along when jinki visits haeun in the us. the others in the industry calls him lee joon, as it is his pen name, but haeun and jinki both calls him changsun.

taemin's best friend : kim jongin : 15 (25) : jongin is friendly to haeun only because his best friend is in love with the girl. they treat each other as distant friend / close acquaintance while in school because of taemin and no other reason. jongin calls haeun hyungsu (sister-in-law) even though that makes both haeun and taemin embarrassed. he likes to tease haeun about her relationship with taemin. though he was the first who tried to pick up haeun, which led to taemin and her knowing each other, he did not continue once he realizes his best friend was interested in her. other than teasing and making sure other guys do not get close to her, he keeps a respectful distance from her, and does not hang out together alone. they never contacted each other after 2012, and the next time he saw her face to face was with taemin during the party. (note: I have no idea if anyone would be using him so i did not put any occupation for him in 2022. if no one did, i was planning on him being taemin's choreographer because the reason they became best friends was because they trained together since they were 12.)
my childhood friend's bff : oh sehun : 18 (28) : they occasionally hang out when minhi is with them both but they would never meet alone together. haeun knows his feelings towards minhi, but when she tries to let minhi know, minhi told her about her crush on l.i2 and she hesitated. in the end, she never told minhi about sehun's feelings. she was even more conflicted in 2022 when she got to know minhi returned sehun's feelings, only for the latter to have a girlfriend. haeun and sehun would talk on polite terms but they can never go a step further to become friends themselves. they would talk, mostly on minhi, or vivi, or any current affairs, when they meet on the streets/school coincidentally.
my childhood friend's other bff aka crush : l.i 2 : ? : they are even more awkward than her and sehun, and are only on "hi" and "bye" terms if they meet on the streets/school coincidentally. perhaps it was due to haeun knowing minhi's feelings for him and wanting to keep her secret that she avoids talking to him whenever possible.
CHAPTER FIVE - heart to heart

taemin neither forgot about haeun nor did he date anyone for the past ten years, showing his faithfulness and steadfastness. he had always been hardworking but with his thoughts on getting her back once he is successful enough to have a world tour, he will end it in new york and woo her there. his romantic side enabled him to not only show her his love verbally but also through his actions. he will bring her to look at a canopy of stars, plans to propose to her under the aurora lights, etc. with his arms pertually around her whenever they went out as a couple, he wanted to show her how much he loved her. he is also really honest, and straightforward, though his intentions were kind and just wanted others to change for the better.
however, he is not a man without faults. he is easily jealous, and hates it when haeun gets close to any other guys unrelated to her, especially jonghyun. his short-tempered nature will also cause him to lash out at others quickly, though the temper is short lived and he will feel guilty soon after. he is also impulsive, and tend to focus on one thing and not think of the consequences of his actions. at times it leads to his regret.
background : taemin was the second son in the family, and with his brother lee taesun (who was older than him by 6 years old), they were a happy family of four, and they have a family business selling/renting cars. his mother wanted taesun to become a singer, but he has stage fright and cannot dance or sing, so she put all her attention on her much younger son, which contrary to usual envy between brothers, taesun is thankful towards taemin since the pressure is lifted off of him. sadly, their father got hit in a drunk driving accident and passed away when taemin was 11. his whole family were devastated and shocked, and taesun had decided to help his mother out in the business. other than working, taemin's mother placed even more effort into making taemin a singer in the future, perhaps wanting to keep herself entirely busy so that she can forget the loss. she did allow him to attend jeguk high instead of a music academy as per his and his brother's wishes, though she signed him up for dance and singing classes ever since he was 12, which he attended faithfully and it is also in the dance course that he met his best friend, kim jongin. he chose jeguk high because his brother was from the school, and got in via money.

they met on the first day haeun was starting school. she was heading out from home after changing out of the school uniform, and when she reached the convenience store to get a white chocolate bar, she was stopped by jongin and he tried to pick her up. she kept trying to reject him with her limited korean words but he either did not understand her, or the more possible version, she was not that direct and he could not tell that she was not interested, and he kept talking to her. it was until taemin, who was late in meeting jongin (making him bored and trying to talk to haeun), arrived, saw that she was uncomfortable and made jongin stop that haeun was able to get away.
they saw each other along the hallways or the cafeteria, and would smile and give a slight bow to acknowledge the other. however, it is not until both of them are in star club that they actually talk and get introduced to each other. surprisingly to jongin, they got close fast and would talk about everything and anything. taemin is not someone who usually hangs out with girls or focus on anything other than his dancing and singing practices. however, he felt really comfortable around haeun. initially, they were good friends and others would wonder if they were a couple, which they will deny, though they did tell their best friends about their feelings for the other.
as she is a year older, sometimes she treats him like a kid and he hates that. he likes to act like he is the older one whenever possible. however, there was once when haeun felt miserable because she saw the news about how a guy had abused his dog, and she was really affected by it. nothing cheered her up for almost a week, until he showed her aegyo and it worked. though that might have been because it had been 6 days and she was slowly feeling better, taemin felt that it was due to the aegyo and from then on, kept doing that whenever she felt angry or sad. she told him that he was very manly doing that, because he was just trying to make her happy.
one day when they were out alone together, one thing led to another and taemin kissed haeun. he confessed to haeun and she admitted she returned his feelings. after a few months, he told his mother about him being in a relationship, and she flared up. he quarrelled with her and left to find haeun. after talking about it, being young and impulsive, they came up with a stupid idea.
it was raining heavily the day they decided to meet and run away together, as if the rain was a premonition. he hesitated and his mother sensed something, and managed to pry it out of him. he was grounded and locked in his room, with his phone confiscated, and perhaps it was his love for his single mother, or his immature age, but he did not fight to get to haeun. she waited for him the whole night and caught a severe fever, and was in the hospital for the next few days. it ended dramatically with her flying back to new york with a broken heart, without ever meeting him in school again. it was a love that she never ever wanted to mention and from then on, she no longer watches korean dramas as they somehow remind her of him. she also began to wear less feminine clothes for a period of time right after she left, as if she was trying to change herself.

taemin had focused on being a singer once he graduated from high school, as he had promised his mom, and by 2022, he had 3 albums under his name, a few collaborations with other singers and done 2 national concert tours. he was planning his next album when the news of the party came. he was initially reluctant to attend until news came that haeun was going as well ("if you go, there would be two celebrities with us! jung haeun is there too!"). he immediately agreed and was more than happy when he saw her during the reunion. that happiness did not last long because right before he walked up to her, jinki appeared and held her hand as they walked around. not knowing about their previous relationship, jinki took her and greeted everyone, including taemin, and though jinki did not notice, taemin was staring at haeun all the time, while haeun was avoiding taemin as much as she could.
he decided that as long as she is not married, he has the chance to fight for her, something he did not do many years ago, and he had been regretting it all these years. he became really forward and used any chances he could to work with her or meet up. he was confident that she still had feelings for him and he obviously still loves her very much, so he was more than willing to get her back.
though jonghyun made sure to check who the other cast members were in the movie haeun was to film in korea, he did not take notice that the producer of the movie had close ties with taemin's agent, and during a last minute decision he was casted as a supporting character after haeun had signed the contract. haeun tries to avoid taemin as much as possible but when she saw that he was hurt, she felt terrible as well. gradually, she tries to treat him as a normal colleague...
TRIVIA :
- his mother had wanted him to be a singer since he was a kid, so once he finished high school he immediately auditioned and got through. this was also the reason his mother did not want him involved with any girls.
- he became best friends with jongin because his mother sent him to a dance course and it is there that they first met. they trained hard together and both kept supporting and pushing the other.

jinki, even though he is the only child, was mature for his age since he was a kid. he would help his parents with their business before playing with his friends. even around his peers, he tends to be the most mature of them, and would be the one the parents task to look after the rest. he is really funny and witty though at times no one understands his jokes (though haeun somehow manages to understand and laugh at them, making the others wonder what is so funny about it). he is really intelligent and is the type who would get good grades in a test just by paying attention in class, but since he studies hard, he naturally becomes one of the top scorers. being a decisive person, he tends to be very effective in decision making and also really determined in fulfilling what he wishes to do.
however, since he shows people his mature image, he tends to hide the part of him that is secretly possessive as he feels that it is childish of him to be that way. even though at times he will feel upset when he sees haeun acting in a more intimate scene with someone else (yes, even if it is a girl), he will hide it and act like he is open-minded and it does not matter to him. he is also a workaholic and would keep all his focus on his work before taking care of his own health. perhaps it is due to this that he is insensitive to his surroundings as well. he does not notice details in reality easily, like if someone gets angry, or if his friend likes a girl, unless they tell him directly. although he knew both taemin and haeun in 2012, he never knew that they had feelings for each other or that they were together.
background : born as the only child to parents who has a meat shop, jinki has to help out since he was young. rather than playing with his friends all the time, he would help his parents in the day, and only after they close the shop around 4 in the afternoon, he would go and meet his friends for an hour or two. they are an upper middle income family, but there would always be a risk since they open a shop, so whenever jinki wants to get something, he usually works outside part-time, like delivering milk etc. even though his parents are able to send him to jeguk with their money, he did not want to increase their burden so he secretly went to sign up for the scholarship. his parents were very proud of him as his scores enabled him to get an academic scholarship, which came to no one's surprise that he ended up in baekho club.

they see each other around and know the other's existence since they are in the same year, though they did not talk until baekho was in charge of helping star club. jinki sat next to her and took the initiative to introduce himself. they started talking and he also helped her a lot in terms of academics, and she laughed a lot at his jokes that most of the time, no one else understood.
the two of them only hang out during the club times, so while he was the closest to haeun among the people in baekho, he was still not a friend she meets outside of school. they joke around and laugh a lot together, but jinki never did try to have skinship with her, unlike jonghyun and taemin. he kept a distance from her as he did not want her to think he was being creepy.
haeun felt comfortable around him, but he was definitely not someone she would run to and cry on his shoulders. she would, however, still let him know when her grades have improved due to his mentoring.
slowly, he began talking to haeun about his love of filming and as they talked, he realized his love of directing. he never did think about the possibility that he might like the girl until one day she suddenly disappeared from school, and he found out from jonghyun that she went back to new york.

in 2017, it was again jinki who took the initiative to contact her. he had been discussing with changsun about a possible movie idea and the latter had brought up that he felt haeun would portray the character well. jinki admitted that he knows haeun and might be able to ask her if she was interested in the role. he asked around his old schoolmates and managed to find out jonghyun's contact. changsun wrote the character with haeun in mind after she accepted the role, and that was how jinki and haeun met again.
this time though, they kept in contact even when haeun left after being in south korea for 3-4 months to film the movie. jinki and changsun went to usa to visit her a few times each year, with jinki giving the excuse that he was there to do research, but changsun knows better and even helped with the matchmaking. in 2020, jinki told haeun of his feelings and she happily accepted.
fast forward to 2022, with the couple in a long-distance relationship, so when haeun informed jinki that she was flying to south korea, he was elated. he was unable to visit her on set of her new movie since he was also filming, but he does go to the apartment she was staying in with jaeri and jonghyun whenever he is free.
he is really sweet towards her and would also get her sweet treats whenever he visits her, since she loves them. they remember and understand each other's likes and dislikes, and can even finish each other's sentences at times. she loves leaning on his arms when they walk together, and his shoulders if they are sitting side by side.
whenever he is focused on working though, he will tend to forget about her and sometimes end up being late in meeting her, but she will try not to get upset with him since she knows his personality. he does take it for granted since he felt that she will always be there with him, and will wait for him until the day he proposes to her...
TRIVIA : anything else you wanna tell me about your love interest?
- changsun is someone jinki will definitely thank for every award he gets because the famous scriptwriter was the reason why jinki had his first big break. even though he directed a few movies, the big companies were unwilling to invest in it until 2015, when changsun coincidentally saw a movie jinki directed and took the initiative to call him to collaborate. with his name on the movie, investments started flooding in, and jinki became better known in the industry.
- he stays in the same apartment as changsun, though they both have the capabilities to afford a house of their own.
- he usually doesn't eat breakfast and often skips his meals because he is a workaholic and just rushes out of the house for work. and he gets nagged and scolded by both haeun and changsun for this. a lot. when he visits haeun in new york she always makes sure he eats breakfast since he has no excuse.
- he plans to get married only when he is 35 years old.
- he loves filming others ever since he got his first camcorder when he was 13.

i seriously am undergoing haeun's indecisiveness in that i have no idea who i prefer her to end up with. taemin might be her first love, but he did hurt her deeply and she felt rejected by him, and she feels deeply for her current boyfriend as well... and taemin now wants to fight for her and is more mature than before, but jinki is able to make her grow and improve herself... ahhh whooo??? so if i get chosen, please be the one choosing between them and give me a surprise because i have zero idea who to pick!
i'm also not sure whether her friendship with minhi is acceptable since it involves not only a friendship in school but also back when she was a kid... so it might clash with some ideas you have for minhi...? do let me know! i didn't write the age they got to know each other because i was not sure how old minhi was when envy was formed. i was thinking they would have met around 1 year or so before envy started?
in my idea haeun was quite protected when she was younger so she grew up fantasizing and dreaming, then when she got her wish and moved to seoul, she realized that hey, life and love is not so dreamy after all. it hurts and the pain is real. first love does not necessarily mean they will end up together and happily married. and later she went into the entertainment business with her mother's influence and she grew to be able to handle the stress and etc...
you put in vivi!! i was like "it's such a coincidence!!!". i saw it after i wrote about the two corgis.
it was hard to find songs to fit... so i hope those two works because i spent loads of time trying to find one that suits 2012.
