General ramblings about writing in 2016

New Year:

Let's begin with New Year's resolutions! For 2016: I have none. Why? Because, I tell you now, I'll never be able to keep something static for 365 days. Puhlease guys, I can't even wake up at the same time every morning! You're expecting too much from the feeble me.

Reminiscing 2015:

As far as writing goes, mine's changed greatly over the last year. I started off a romance fic that is a kind of one hit wonder lol. The preceding ones were all mainly angst, lots of heartbreaks, horror, thrillers, a bit of randomness now and again, idolxidol fics, historicals and so, almost everything. Still I don't think many have tried the 15 other stories aside from IABWAL or will be doing so any time soon xD I'm afraid they're all to melodramatic for the AFF demographic. Y'all like the rom-coms. I understand lol. Understanding took time.

New Stories, New Experiments

'First Love' will probably be my first real non-Exo member high school story lol. Who knows, maybe I'll start writing iKon fics for the rest of 2016? It depends on the reception really. I've written about some idols with very erm 'enthusiastic' fans before and they've totally turned me off their idol and made me passive. I'm sure everyone's encountered these extreme fans somewhere. You know the type. Then again, I've met some extremely nice fans too who don't make me want to kill of their bias in a tragic road accident.

Since I have afore mentioned Exo I might as well admit that I'm really excited about writing a cliche fic with Baekhyun as the lead lol. Seriously I just noticed I've never written one and that made me sad. So I decided I'd go for it. It's actually a lot of fun. This one has the most inventive name ever. It's called: 'The Cliché.' Just goes to show how seriously you should take the plot but enjoyable all the same.

One that I'm thinking to write is an adventure story entitled: 'The Merchant and The Mastermind.' I'll be constraining everything about it until I finish existing works. I'm still double minded though. There will be no romance which means no readers so should I bother putting it on AFF at all? Maybe I'll gift it to my Chen biased friend instead? Who knows?

Old Tales

'Gone with the Reflection,' is off its 'hiatus.' I know it's been ages since myself or gaksitalGaksital updated but tbh we were kind of annoyed at it so we went on a kind of soul searching period. It's okay though. We'll provide the remaining two updates. They were really tough to write so please do not harass us. We know you love your biases. They're our biases too so please do pay attention to the fact that we went through great pains to put them through turbulent situations. No one dies. It's okay. Breathe.

'The Emperor's Men' is also off hiatus. Hurray! I swear I'm the only one loving this story lol. No one seems to like idolxidol fics. Tis a shame cuz TEM is practically a blockbuster. I have the right to anticipate all the awesomeness I've planned out for it. I will do everything my favorite kdramas failed to do muahahaha.

Other Rambles

Man this is a long post! Kudos if ya got this far. And even if you skimmed, you will learn my opinion of idolxidol fics. First of, I don't have any problem with idolxidol. What puzzles me is that people do and because they do they create the 'OC.'

An OC is pretty much a dummy character. Why pair a dummy with an existing person? That's like giving them an imaginary friend and telling them to fall in love. You could do just as well attributing all the OC characteristics to an idol. It's just as easy to name to OC 'Irene' or 'Sandara' or 'IU' etc because she is the face of your OC on the story poster anyway. This rule is applicable to ulzzang also.

But then there's another evil. The OC rule doesn't apply to female idols. I have yet to see a female idol paired with a male OC. Y'all be shipping them with real girls or guys. Why so discriminative? Lol I'm not shaming. I have written OC fics too but it's still baffling when you think about it. We probably won't see much reform either. It's kinda sad.

Waa, you have lots of writings planning^^ good luck with that^^
I don't have problems reading idolxidol fics. I enjoyed these type of fics more than idolxyou/oc fics, tbh.
But since this is fanfiction site, so maybe people would prefer OC fics where they ship themselves with the idols (including me XD lol)
And~~ everyone has their own taste in fanfictions so, yeah.. also, ff author should just write what they want bcs yahh, its fanfiction, our imaginations, who cares(but people actually care), don't give a damn about haters lol
Oh yes, i hve yet to see a ff where the OC is a guy lol i think its hilarious XDXD thats just prove that all ff readers are girls XDXD
P/s: im just saying my opinions though, no hurt feelings intended. ^^

You don't have any resolutions, but you have a lot of writing planned haha Hope you'll have fun experimenting~
About ocs....no clue. While other fandoms use actual canon characters and therefore have a reason for ocs, idk why we have them too. Technically all characters are original, except in non-au fics right?
As for your last point, the kpop fandom (and the world) is ist and biased so yeah..

Your 'My Girlfriend the cheater' is one of my fav fanfics. Guess, you introduced me to Kris Leone thanks lol. And well dude..i enjoy both oc and otp stories, nothing's dummy. And i guess for the authors out there, it isn't just simply choosing a real person/creating oc for the main character.

oKay, literally though I have to say something now because of the last bit, not because I want to fight you but to express my opinion. First, isn't all this fanfic writing fictitious anyways? So having an OC really doesn't matter anyways since the whole world you're creating doesn't even exist. I'm not talking about me specifically but I feel like OCs happen because we can't really find ourselves liking a ship irl to contribute to a fic, or we be jelly writing about the world and have our biases be linked to someone. OCs are by extent (at least in my cases) another part of myself so it's weird applying it to an idol you know?
Female idol with male oc - probably because most of us who write are girls and it's easier to write from that perspective LOL.
On a side note though, bRUH. I WOULD READ THAT NON ROMANCE STORY. I ACTUALLY LIVE FOR NON ROMANCE ONES TBH. Like real talk I read an actual book yesterday and by chapter four I was done with life because there was like forced romance OTL I just-- *sobs* SO YO, ILL BE A READER OKAY
